Welcome back to your favourite watch-related podcast.Have you ever considered giving up on the generic world of mainstream watches? Well, hold that thought! In this latest episode, our guest is a collector deeply immersed in the mysterious world of independent watches but still retains a love for the watches from where it all began.Join us with Ollie Al-Falah, YouTube's "The Watch Collector", who loves a mainstream brand, but became so engrossed in the independent watch world that he ended up investing in the company he bought his first high horology independent watch from, UK-based The Limited Edition.Find out how HYT was his gateway drug into this weird and wonderful rabbit hole and how he moved on from Casio, Omega, Rolex, (and Animal!) to Bulgari, Czapek and the incredible Laurent Ferrier, with its world-famous finishing. This episode shows how these artisans of the watch world really do challenge the norm, awaken our inner risk-taker, and perhaps bring out the peacock in all of us (to an acceptable and tasteful degree of course!).So buckle up and enjoy the ride as we delve deep into the symbiotic coexistence of mainstream and independent watch brands.Check Out The Limited Edition and The Watch Collector on YouTube at:https://www.youtube.com/@thelimitededitionCheck Out their Website at:https://www.thelimitededition.co.uk/Don't forget to check out the show notes on our website to add a visual experience at:www.chronopassion7.com or at our Instagram @chrono_passion_7.Intro-Outro Music Credit "The Attic Is For Work" By Streamer Music Group - Copyright Free Music

In this holiday episode we celebrate the season with humor, heartfelt memories, and a touch of glamour. Pol' reflects on his December 27th birthday overshadowed by Christmas and growing up celebrating Armenian Christmas on January 6th. He shares nostalgic tales of leaving cookies and vodka for Santa and navigating cultural shifts after moving to the U.S. Patrik recounts his German-inspired traditions, including his mother's elaborate holiday decorations, like ornaments suspended from the ceiling, and upside down Christmas tress while Pol' reveals his memorable Bulgari-themed Christmas tree. The *Runway Rundown* segment adds festive flair as they critique celebrity holiday fashion: Beyoncé and Blue Ivy stun in matching gold, though Blue Ivy's mature look sparks debate. Grace VanderWaal earns praise for her chic transformation. Heidi Klum's pearl-white gown misses the mark, drawing playful jabs. Jordyn Woods dazzles in sequins and fur, while Chloë Sevigny's lace dress gets labeled a fashion fail. The conversation weaves personal anecdotes with humor, exploring traditions like Armenian feasts, German holiday treats, and the creative ways families adapt customs across generations. The episode ends with gratitude to listeners, a teaser for Pol's celebrity coffee readings, and heartfelt holiday wishes. Full of laughs, warmth, and festive spirit, this episode is a delightful celebration of the season. This week on aBlogtoWatch Weekly, Brother Rick is conspicuously absent, so it's Ariel running the show alongside Ripley and David, who all know that to take a podcast vacation now would be to deprive listeners of the comfort of a discussion of their watch hobby straight to their ears. The guys get right to it with a look the new Venezianico Arsenale. Ariel proposes that when glasses take over smartwatches, the wrist will become available again for useless things like mechanical timekeeping. They veer off associatively into the rabbit hole of augmented reality. Getting back to basics, Ripley posits that when simplicity is done right, it can be more impressive than a busy dial because your attention is focused only on a few elements. Next up is the Rolex Sky-Dweller 226938 18k yellow-gold watch, which Ariel likes quite a lot, even though the dial has never sold him on "pretty." Ripley says he'd take it over a Nautilus or a Royal Oak. David agrees that it's a powerful watch in its complications and execution, but it's not right for his wrist (too heavy). Then the team discusses David's most recent "Grinding Gears" article, in which he asks "How long should watch brands milk historic achievements?" Next up is a look at the new Bulova Lunar Pilot "Blood Moon" watch, which David thinks is too large even in its smallest form, but everyone loves the story of this watch. Listen in for more. Speaking of small, the Hamilton PSR74, a modern LED with a retro look. David isn't sure he would spend upwards of $800 on this watch, though he's happy it exists. Then, they discuss the watch that the Venezianico Arsenale wants to be: the Parmigiani Tonda PF Sport Chronograph in Milano Blue. They end with a look at a deep dive into Bulgari's new watch manufacture and the Hands-On: Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono 'Cycling Edition' And The Role Of Watches In Professional Cycling | aBlogtoWatch Maybe when Rick gets back, he'll bring Hit, Miss, Maybe with him.

Alan Belcher, courtesy of Hunt Gallery Alan Belcher's concept-based work is decidedly multi-layered and object oriented. He has been recognized in the past as an originator of a tactile fusion of photography and object-making. A transparency of vision and simplicity of fabrication with a concentrated regard for materials remain hallmarks of his serial productions. A sense of humour and a reverence for both Pop and Poveric sensibilities, as well as a hands-on approach; invade much of his work. His lifelong study of the works by artists Manzoni, Fontana, Pascali, Balla, Boccioni, and Scarpitta inform much of his work history, and indeed the pieces included in this exhibition. Works by Alan Belcher are held in various public collections which include the National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa), Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris), Art Gallery of Ontario (Toronto), Le Consortium (Dijon), Musee des Beaux-Arts (Montréal), Deste Foundation (Athens), Fotomuseum Winterthur (Zurich), Walker Art Center (Minneapolis), Chase Manhattan Bank, Credit Suisse Collection, Dropbox HQ (San Francisco), The Progressive Insurance Art Collection (Ohio), MoCA San Diego, Morris & Helen Belkin Art Gallery at UBC (Vancouver), and Musée Nicéphore Niépce (Chalon-sur-Saône, France) —as well as numerous prominent private collections.
