If you don't like what is showing up in your life, your business, your organization, and / or your corporation; I strongly recommend you listen to this episode and take action at once. Most of us, on this positive path of personal, professional and leadership development, have heard it said in many different ways; our dominant thoughts create our reality. In fact, the quote for today in my ‘My-Tyme Success Planner' by Paul J. Meyer, the founder of Leadership Management International says this:“You are where you are and what you are because of the thoughts that dominate your mind.”And we read in James Allen's book, As a Man Thinketh:“As he / she thinks, so he / she is; as he / she continues to think, so he/ she remains. The outer conditions of a person's life will always be found to be harmoniously related to their inner state. Men and women do not attract that which they want, but that which they are.”So that clearly places the responsibility for the results that we experience on us. We have been conditioned to remain in the energy of the problem and the energy of the results we don't like. We try to find solutions to move out of the hole by continuously focusing only on the hole. There's a better way. Understand how what is showing up in your life is directly related to your thoughts and you will have found the master key to experiencing all you desire to be, do and have; personally and professionally. In this episode and the next few, we'll take deeper dive into the classic work by James Allen; As a Man Thinketh.Listen in now and let's get started together!Dr. Koz (and effect!)Dr. Stephen J. Crystallizing your vision brings focused clarity to all you aspire to be, do, and have in your life and within your small business, your company, your organization or your ministry."Crystallizing your vision makes the process of becoming an effective leader much easier. For your associates, a concise vision identifies your overall business goals and links their goals to yours.Without a vision statement, many of your team members are likely to feel that they are a part of something quite ordinary - something drab, dull and lacking direction. The vision statement sets the tone for the future of the company. [And for you!] It should be exciting but brief, it should convey a sense of urgency and a clear sense of corporate destiny. If you want to be a highly effective leader, take a good look at your vision statement. (If you don't have one, you need to set about creating one today!) A vision statement defines the future; every day you work without it, you are working for yesterday rather than for tomorrow. Your vision statement should be a conduit or channel for your goals and expectations. It should challenge you and your team members to a bright new future without burdening anyone with the mistakes and poor choices that may have been made in the past." - From The 5 Pillars of Leadership by Paul J. Meyer and Randy SlechtaThis episode takes you deeper and shows you the relationship between your purpose, mission, and vision and the order of be, do, have along with thought, word, and action. This is the Certain Way of establishing the desired culture in your organization by laying this solid foundation.Listen now and take your life, your company, your business or your ministry; to the next level.Dr. Koz (and effect!)Dr. Stephen J. This episode will wrap up this mini-series about learning how to develop desire and passion, in yourself and others, and how it is a unique leadership skill that is essential for your desired growth.I shared how desire and passion are necessary elements in the pursuit of worthy ideals especially when it comes to making those quantum leaps in the direction of all you desire to experience personally and professionally.I shared key points from the book “The 5 Pillars of Leadership; How to Bridge the Leadership Gap” by Paul J. Meyer, founder of Leadership Management International and Rand Slechta, LMI's current CEO, here's one that relates to our series topic:“The desire and passion with which you and your team members face a challenge is an essential part of the soul of your organization. Without it, you and your team lack spiritual guidance and creative expression. Without desire and passion, there is no intuition; missing is the still small voice within you to provide insight into both situations and people. Without desire and passion, all of your talents and abilities tend to lie fallow and unresponsive; your potential is hidden, buried and dormant.”In the last episode I explored step four, this episode focuses on step five, our final step. It's about going to work deliberately, every day, on our desired objective. Woking harder. I really suggest going back and listening to all five of these episodes together and join me as I take a deep dive into all five steps to developing desire and passion as shared by these two brilliant authors in this spectacular book. Like me, you have most likely come across many daily bullet point lists that aim to help keep you on the path of success, achievement, accomplishment and personal and professional development. Most of these list are very good, and if followed, should help you with your daily performance and productivity. For me, it's all about the feeling of enthusiasm and passion I feel for what is mine to do. I recently came across another success plan list that stirs up that inner zeal and really helps me to stay focused on my tasks. It is the Personal Success Plan authored by Paul J. Meyer.I discovered this success plan because I recently became a franchise partner of Leadership Management International founded by the late Paul J. Meyer who you could argue is really one of the founders of the whole personal development industry. This from the LMI-WORLD website:"Fueled by a vivid imagination, a burning desire to achieve excellence, and the steadfast belief that he could inspire and motivate people, Meyer developed a vision for the future. More than 60 years ago, Paul breathed life into his vision, and Success Motivation® International (SMI®) was born.Focusing on a sole purpose — “Motivating people to their full potential® — SMI got its start in a rented repair shop and grew to become the market leader in its industry. This flagship organization gained global renown and earned Meyer a reputation as the pioneer of the personal development industry. In 1966, Meyer broadened his vision by founding Leadership Motivation Inc. which would eventually become Leadership Management® International (LMI®). Expanding on the formula behind SMI's success, LMI set out on a new mission, “Developing leaders and organizations to their full potential™.” In this podcast I share, with enthusiasm, this five point list with you my listeners. I invite and encourage you to listen now, get excited about it's application in your personal and professional life, and stay in alignment with its instruction.Dr. Koz (and effect!)Dr. Stephen J. Coincidir con una persona es de lo más natural. Sin embargo, llegar a conectar con dicha persona puede ser un trabajo difícil, y más cuando no entendemos la mente y los sentimientos que quienes nos rodean. La conexión es un estado, que nos hace sentir más sólidos y completos, donde se resalta la relevancia nuestras emociones en relación con nosotros y los demás.

Personal mastery involves a set of tools and strategies to help individuals to live and work at their peak. It is about optimizing and maximizing your potential. In life we often experience a creative tension between vision and current reality. True personal mastery involves optimizing your personal assets (those strengths that no one can take from you) and inner resources towards goal attainment. Some people recoil when we talk about success, assuming it is the same as selfish ambition. However, personal mastery God's way is to do with desiring to maximize your fruitfulness. God is glorified when we are fruitful. John 15:8 This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. I like to say, personal mastery is the science of replicable success. It is one thing to be successful, it is quite another thing to know why you are successful and replicate your success in a predictable manner. This is crucial if you are a disciple making believer, because you want to pass on your success habits to others in a way that they believe they can replicate. I like Paul J Meyer's definition of success: Success is the progressive realisation of predetermined, worthwhile personal goals. Therefore, the question we are asking in this series is, “What do successful people do differently?”

“Enjoy the little things in life because one day you’ll realise they were the big things” – Kurt Vonnegut. This Tiny Noticeable Things episode is all about the wheel of life, a concept first developed by Paul J Meyer in 1960. David explains why this tool is crucial to your personal development and your purpose. KEY TAKEAWAYS It’s important to take time to assess what elements in your life are working for you in your life, enjoy them and harness them as a force for good. There are eight sections to the wheel: career or vocation, friends and family, finances, personal relationships, health and fitness, recreational and social, personal or spiritual development and your physical environment. It’s very easy to develop habits and routines. By using the wheel can ensure that these are the best of habits. This system is a way of changing a reactive way of living into a proactive way of living. BEST MOMENTS ‘Quite often we are on our daily walk through life and we don’t know where we’re going.’ ‘We all like a survey, don’t we? And this is a survey you’re doing on yourself.’ ‘What’s the one or two key areas that you need to do something about?’ ABOUT THE SHOW People with purpose make a difference. Imagine a world where more people can just get their purpose out of them, into a plan and then actually make it happen. What a world that would be - People everywhere finding meaning and harnessing that to bring inspiration and energy to each and every day, changing lives for the better. But no-one ever achieved anything on their own - we all have something unique to bring and that means we all have to play our part - if we want to go far we have to go together and lead or serve towards a vision of the world we want to see. Everyone has a story to tell and this show is where these stories come to life. ABOUT THE HOST David Roberts is a highly regarded CEO, mentor and investor with 30 years experience across multiple sectors. As an intrapreneur and entrepreneur David has bought, grown, started and sold several businesses, working with values driven startups, award winning SMEs and multinational corporations on strategies for service excellence, leadership and profitable growth. David’s passion is for purpose and creating an environment where everyone can succeed, through building teams that get things done, execute on their mission with passion, deliver exceptional service and really make a difference. In this episode of the Millionaire Mindcast, we have John Malott who shares his story of not to let his past equal his future, his rock bottoms, redefining moments, the role of man in the house, what's the foundation of good husband-wife relationships, bridging the leadership gap, and how to achieve a new level of success in mindset and business! John Malott is a serial entrepreneur, world changer, collaboration expert, public speaker, side hustle expert, and Co-Founder and Chairman of Build Your Empire, an event & media company focused on educating & impacting the next generation of entrepreneurs.  John has built people that build businesses and help people crush big things from home. He has earned over $1 billion in global sales and has been featured in Forbes, Entrepreneur, USA Today and more. Currently, he has created over 600 millionaires in the last 25 years and passion for leading, serving, and holding individuals accountable to achieve their greatness. John's life is a rollercoaster. At 17 years old, he had a heart attack from smoking cocaine. He was a high school dropout, arrested multiple times, and last jailed when he was 24 years old. His biggest curses turned out to be his biggest lessons. In jail, he had some realizations; it's not the life he wanted to be. He made a decision that's who he was, that's not who he would be going forward. Promise that when things get done he would be that person again. After John got out of jail, things started to change. It's a long process but things really start to happen for him. During the process, somebody planted the seed to him that business was his way out of his circumstances. So he exposed himself to personal development and pursued business. But it was not an overnight success. John just earned $4,000 in his first year as a full time entrepreneur and $16,000 in the second year. People judged him but he never gives up. To cope with the challenges, John hired mentors to help develop himself and his business, where he learned so much about people, philosophy, and the art of giving. Now, John is really good at identifying and creating passive residual income streams from home, how to cut out a lot of overhead expenses, and the frustrations that most entrepreneurs experience. He considers himself fortunate to have that experience especially during this pandemic. On the other hand, John believes that mindset is the one that holds us back and not anything in this world. Life is about two major things: it's about a mixture of challenge and opportunity. He is so sure that whatever hits, he just adjusts his mind and thinking. John insists that this quarantine is the time to figure out what you want to become because it's thinking, becoming, and then doing. Right now, we really have time to create new generations of world-class entrepreneurs and replace a lot of crappy ones. Therefore, take that money and invest in yourself. Figure out what you want to do, what you want to become, and where you want to go. Figure out how to use that resource to get you in front of people. Find that you're passionate about, and use that energy to build momentum. There are so many things we got to put in front first. But you should start focusing on who you are and becoming stronger, better, faster, and have those principles of success. Some Questions I Ask: Take us back to some of the rock bottoms & moments in your life that were kind of those forks in the road, “It's time to get it going and move in the right direction if I'm going to achieve the goals that I want to achieve”. (00:57) If you could pinpoint at that moment in jail, what was that ultimately had you chosen this fork versus that fork? (05:32) Get us up to the speed of from that day making that choice to where you're at today, how things unfolded, and how big and exciting in high and low they've been along the way? (08:23) What would you say is the number one thing you see limiting the people from actually breaking through to a new level of success, and discipline? How would you like to categorize it? (11:53) How should people be spending their time right now if they want to get ahead? (15:42) If you were to pull one tool off your tool belt that has paid you the highest ROI over the course of your career, what would you say that skill set is? (19:41) When can someone call themselves a leader? (22:55) With the uncertain times right now, what message do you have for the person who is an aspiring entrepreneur or new entrepreneur that's at home? (24:13) What do you think is the best investment for someone right now with little disposable income? (27:02) How has making your wife and children such a priority and the core foundation of your ecosystem served you in building the successful business in life that you have? (32:12) What do you think is the core thing that is the foundation of your guy's relationship that makes it strong, successful, and moving in the right direction? (35:56) What is your definition of wealth and what was the one thing you feel attributed to unlocking it? (40:27) In This Episode, You Will Learn: The Percentage of Growth (09:02) The Art of Giving philosophy (13:17) Two major things in life (16:25) How to be more productive especially during this quarantine (17:03) Leadership gap in the USA (20:23) Man as the foundation of the household (33:53) Quotes: “My biggest curses turned out to be my biggest lessons.” “That's who I was, that's not who I would be going forward.” “The repetition is the mother of all success.” “Life is about two major things: it's about challenge and opportunity.” “This is the time to figure out what you want to become because it's thinking, becoming, and then doing.” “Start focusing on your health and wellness because if you're not feeling healthy, you're going to have a hard time getting wealthy.” “The richest place in the world is the graveyard.” “Inspired people do not need motivation.” “Wealth is freedom.” Resources Mentioned: How to Win Friends and Influence People book by Dale Carnegie Paul J. ¿Cómo te ves desde hoy a 20 años?

In this episode of the Millionaire Mindcast, we have John Malott who shares his story of not to let his past equal his future, his rock bottoms, redefining moments, the role of man in the house, what’s the foundation of good husband-wife relationships, bridging the leadership gap, and how to achieve a new level of success in mindset and business! John’s life is a rollercoaster. At 17 years old, he had a heart attack from smoking cocaine. He was a high school dropout, arrested multiple times, and last jailed when he was 24 years old. His biggest curses turned out to be his biggest lessons. In jail, he had some realizations; it’s not the life he wanted to be. He made a decision that’s who he was, that’s not who he would be going forward. Promise that when things get done he would be that person again. After John got out of jail, things started to change. It’s a long process but things really start to happen for him. Life is about two major things: it’s about a mixture of challenge and opportunity. He is so sure that whatever hits, he just adjusts his mind and thinking. John insists that this quarantine is the time to figure out what you want to become because it’s thinking, becoming, and then doing. Right now, we really have time to create new generations of world-class entrepreneurs and replace a lot of crappy ones. Therefore, take that money and invest in yourself. Figure out what you want to do, what you want to become, and where you want to go. Figure out how to use that resource to get you in front of people. Find that you’re passionate about, and use that energy to build momentum. There are so many things we got to put in front first. But you should start focusing on who you are and becoming stronger, better, faster, and have those principles of success. Some Questions I Ask: Take us back to some of the rock bottoms & moments in your life that were kind of those forks in the road, “It’s time to get it going and move in the right direction if I’m going to achieve the goals that I want to achieve”. (00:57) If you could pinpoint at that moment in jail, what was that ultimately had you chosen this fork versus that fork? (05:32) Get us up to the speed of from that day making that choice to where you’re at today, how things unfolded, and how big and exciting in high and low they’ve been along the way? (08:23) What would you say is the number one thing you see limiting the people from actually breaking through to a new level of success, and discipline? How would you like to categorize it? (11:53) How should people be spending their time right now if they want to get ahead? (15:42) If you were to pull one tool off your tool belt that has paid you the highest ROI over the course of your career, what would you say that skill set is? (19:41) When can someone call themselves a leader? (22:55) With the uncertain times right now, what message do you have for the person who is an aspiring entrepreneur or new entrepreneur that’s at home? (24:13) What do you think is the best investment for someone right now with little disposable income? (27:02) How has making your wife and children such a priority and the core foundation of your ecosystem served you in building the successful business in life that you have? (32:12) What do you think is the core thing that is the foundation of your guy’s relationship that makes it strong, successful, and moving in the right direction? (35:56) What is your definition of wealth and what was the one thing you feel attributed to unlocking it? (40:27) In This Episode, You Will Learn: The Percentage of Growth (09:02) The Art of Giving philosophy (13:17) Two major things in life (16:25) How to be more productive especially during this quarantine (17:03) Leadership gap in the USA (20:23) Man as the foundation of the household (33:53) Quotes: “My biggest curses turned out to be my biggest lessons.” “That’s who I was, that’s not who I would be going forward.” “The repetition is the mother of all success.” “Life is about two major things: it’s about challenge and opportunity.” “This is the time to figure out what you want to become because it’s thinking, becoming, and then doing.” “Start focusing on your health and wellness because if you’re not feeling healthy, you’re going to have a hard time getting wealthy.” “The richest place in the world is the graveyard.” “Inspired people do not need motivation.” “Wealth is freedom.” Resources Mentioned: How to Win Friends and Influence People book by Dale Carnegie Paul J. Sales From the Street: “I Almost Quit” We all face challenges and sometimes, the sense of defeat is so strong that the phrase, “I almost quit,” is so relatable.  Luigi Prestinenzi struggled in his sales journey as well. His mom was great in sales and worked for Mary Kay, a global cosmetics empire. His mother won awards and was an icon within the company.  All the success, however, came to halt when she suffered complete burnout. Luigi was seven then and he didn't understand what was truly happening except that he saw his mom hustling and reaching her goals.  Fast forward to 23 years later, Luigi also fell on the same path. Everything was working well for him but all of a sudden, deals fell apart and they just kept falling through. It was the first time that he found himself in a challenging situation.  His manager talked to him one Christmas and he couldn't focus on anything, not the festivities, his family, or the food. He questioned his life and his decisions and he started drafting his resume and looking for jobs. Despite that, he still went back to sales because it was his only option.  Like other salespeople who got disappointed and might have said the words, “I almost quit,” Luigi also quit - almost.  Changing the actions and mindset  Luigi made a decision to triple his sales activity to make up for the last quarter. He realized that the best way to work through it is to change his actions and his mindset.  He listened to Paul J. Meyer, the founder of the Success Motivation Institute. It was a 50-minute combination of different talks and he listened to it every day in his car. All the talks he listened to prompted him to start his pipes running again. Six months later, he closed the biggest deal in his company's history. He also won the global sales leader award across 60 countries for that organization.  Keep Going  Luigi's father was a migrant and he'd always tell him, ‘first in, last out.' People would argue about that saying that it doesn't foster a smart working mentality. He did not question his work ethic, but he questioned his mindset on things. He needed to change it because he'd still face the same problems at some point.  There are a lot of salespeople these days who jump from one job to another every 12-18 months. They're good in the interview process but the moment they hit a bump, they go to the next role. He didn't want to be that person so he kept going.    The imposter syndrome kicks in at your lowest points but that feeling shouldn't let you down. Even when you close a deal, you somehow still feel like you just got lucky.  No matter how successful you get in the sales industry, no matter how well you execute the sales process and help the buyer through the buying process, you can never control the buyers' decision. #SalesTalk You can only control your mindset and the way you approach the situation.  Break it down to image and pipeline. Image: How are you showing up? How are you getting up? How are you preparing yourself? What is your mindset to achieve success?  Pipeline: Do the activity and get the hard work done. Don't cut corners in what you do.  Get these two done and the magic will happen. Do not focus too much on the scoreboard without getting the right mindset. If you're not getting the target and you're struggling, just go back to the foundation of success.  “I almost quit,” is fine but never say, “I quit.”  Sales From the Street: “I Almost Quit” episode resources Reach out to Luigi Prestinenzi on his LinkedIn account and check out his podcast, Sales IQ. What We Talked About in this Episode: Billy went through his first goal setting program when he was just four-years-old He has continued learning about goal setting and teaching others about the subject ever since Paul J. Meyer, the founder of the personal development industry said, “If you are not making the progress you would like to make and are capable of making, it is simply because your goals are not clearly defined.” Goals bring out the best in us. Ashley shares the story of Billy asking her about her goals and sharing his goals when they first met Some companions from Billy’s past were turned off by this, but Ashley was intrigued and of course stuck around to learn more Ashley shares more about her own personal thoughts on goal setting and how they have changed with Billy Ashley is go with the flow, Billy is the planner But we both enjoy setting goals. The goal setting process begins with a Dream List This is how we got started goal setting together and they continue adding to their list every year. A Dream List is exactly what it sounds like. Some call it a bucket list. This is simply all the things you want to do in your life together. Next comes creating a short list of goals - no more than 10 We do this every year as well. We start by setting individual goals and then coming together for a date night to share the goals and work on our combined list. Through this process especially, it is important that we fully support one another. There are no stupid goals. This should be a real discussion. What do we really want to accomplish together over the next year? What are the benefits of the goal? What obstacles stand in our way? What steps need to be taken to achieve it? Set challenging goals together that are realistic There are no unrealistic goals just some really bad target dates. Goal setting is supposed to be uncomfortable. Goal setting begins with an awareness of where you are right now and a desire to change your future together Goals are a prelude to action, they are a course to take; they are an expression of your strengths; they are an exercise of your desire for becoming better together Growing together is a choice all partners must make Growing apart is an excuse.

Our mission is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is https://wisdom-trek.com/day-1005/ (Day 1005) of our trek, and it is time for our 3-minute mini trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little bit of additional content for today's trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let's jump right in with today's nugget. Today's quote is from Paul J. Meyer, and it is, “Communication — the human connection — is the key to personal and career success.” The Human Connection So many of our problems in the world today are caused by a lack of true communication between one another in a face-to-face setting. It is so easy to become inflamed and spout our opinions as facts when indeed we do not have all of the facts.  It is so easy to judge and malign others when we don't really understand what another person may be going through. If we want to be successful in all areas of our personal lives, in ministry, and in our professional lives, we must realize that all areas of our lives impact and affect each other, and there is no separation between them. We must be willing to communicate with others face to face – to seek to understand before we insist on being understood ourselves. Unless we are willing to walk in another person’s shoes and experience what they are experiencing, then we will never be able to fully understand them. It is when we walk beside someone else, hand in hand, that we can communicate with them and understand them. Communication requires a dialog in which we listen to each other, encourage one another, and accept one another, even if we do not always fully agree with each other. It is then that we will experience success. The human connection reminds me of https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews+10:23-25&version=NLT (Hebrews 10:23-25,) “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.  And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” That's a wrap for today's Wisdom Unplugged quote. Live Your Dash to the Fullest and Live a Life of AbundanceMen, it's always great to catch up with old friends. And when I say old friends, I'm referring to friends we've know for a long time. Not that they are old. Because that would make us old as well. In any case, you get the rare chance of listening in on a conversation between myself and a fellow Army Combat Medic. Tim excelled in the military. And obviously, that was just a warm up. Tim has taken Abundance to a whole new level. I hope I don't get in trouble for this. But I really wanted to share the poem, Tim was taking about. So here you go. I also shared the Ted Talk video for you below.  The Dashby Linda EllisI read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on the tombstone from the beginning…to the end. He noted that first came the date of birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time that they spent alive on earth. And now only those who loved them know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own, the cars…the house…the cash. What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash. So, think about this long and hard. Are there things you’d like to change? For you never know how much time is left that can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough to consider what’s true and real and always try to understand the way other people feel. And be less quick to anger and show appreciation more and love the people in our lives like we’ve never loved before. If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile, remembering that this special dash might only last a little while. So, when your eulogy is being read, with your life’s actions to rehash… would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent YOUR dash? Reference: http://www.linda-ellis.com/the-dash-the-dash-poem-by-linda-ellis-.html Meet or Feature GuestTimothy Stroud is a former combat medic in the United States Army. He served his country on active duty with deployments to Kosovo, Kuwait and Iraq, though Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). During these years, Tim learned volumes about team building, leadership, and camaraderie and was quickly promoted to a Non Commissioned Officer. He also sought out a mentor during his transition back into civilian life and began a seven-year relationship with leadership expert Mr. Paul J. Meyer. While stationed at Ft. Hood, Tim build an Army Wall of Fame to showcase 500 celebrities who support the military. It is still on display on the largest military post in the U.S. Tim excelled as a non-traditional student at Grand Canyon University, finishing his education by utilizing his Post-9/11 GI Bill. Graduating with Academic Honors on both the Dean's and President's List, Tim secured a Bachelor of Science in Applied Management from the Ken Blanchard College of Business in May 2011. He completed his Masters in Leadership from the same program in December of 2013. Volunteering in the community, Mr. Stroud worked in collaboration with the State of Texas, NAMI, SAMSHA, and BEITZ to better understand the early signs of Post Traumatic Stress and how to successfully get veterans and family members connected with resources. This led Tim to become one of the first Peer to Peer Support Facilitators in Texas and helping start the support groups in Central Texas. Mr. Stroud lobbied Texas Congress, alongside the VSOs that he supported for more education benefits in Austin, TX and San Antonio, TX to the Veteran Affairs and Military Installations Committee (Senator Leticia Van de Putte, Chair). Tim worked with Dr. Suzanna Gratia Hupp at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission on finding viable solutions for veterans that face mental health issues. This resulted in a mobile application that ties veterans into a Military... Support this podcast

Does it feel like sometimes you want to just not have a plan? If you don’t have a plan then nothing can go wrong, right? Let me tell you, it is that time spent planning that helps you figure out what is going to wrong and how you will be able to handle it when things take a turn. Without my planning time and the time spent researching and organizing I would be a total wreck right now. My farm plans for the year have completely been turned on their heads several times already and we’re only not just about to get into May. Today I interview two farmers from my area that are taking their planning and analysis to make some very positive changes on their farm. I’m even going to cut the text short today and really encourage you to listen to what Paul and Rebecca have to say. In this farm podcast you will learn: Analyzing what your farm goals are How farming kicks your butt every year How farming is a business if you want to make a living off it (I know that seems obvious, but trust me) How the CSA model can end up costing you (the farmer) a lot of money Interview with Paul and Rebecca of Fort Hill Farm Paul Bucciaglia Like many small-scale, direct market farmers, Paul did not grow up on a farm. He grew up gardening at the family home in Naugatuc, CT, and studied agriculture at Penn State University and plant biology at the University of Minnesota. After spending time in mid 1990s working with Paul and Chris Burkhouse on their operation, Foxtail Farm, just northeast of the Twin Cities, Paul decided to leave the laboratory and explore small scale organic farming. In 1999, Paul returned to New England to apprentice at  Brookfield Farm CSA in Massachusetts, and later mangaged Holcomb Farm CSA in Granby, CT. After two successful seasons at Holcomb, Paul had a clear vision of what his own farm would look like. In the fall of 2002, Paul moved to New Milford and plowed the first four acres of what would become Fort Hill Farm on the sandy soils of the Sunny Valley Preserve. Now, after many years of cultivation and the hard work of friends and family, Paul and Rebecca continue to work the land with the help of a talented crew of aspiring farmers and workers. Rebecca Batchie Rebecca came to farming through her combined love of plants and food. She trained in horticulture at Stonecrop Gardens in Cold Spring, NY, and then ran her own horticultural business for 10 years. During that time, she became increasingly drawn to vegetable crops and spent much of her time designing, building, and growing vegetable gardens. Farming was a natural transition for Rebecca. She worked summers with Paul while earning a degree in Critical Social Thought at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA. After graduating in 2011, she joined Paul in running Fort Hill Farm. She and Paul joyfully welcomed their son, Luca, into their lives in July of 2013. In her “spare time,” she enjoys hiking, sourdough bread baking, photography, spiritual practice, traveling, and (in her next life), cheese making and fiber arts. "Never give mental recognition to the possibility of defeat" Paul J. Meyer Bringing Their Gift of Encouragement to Generations of American Warriors. PurpleHeartHomesUSA.org On Monday, August 29, 2011 Dale Beatty, John Gallina and three other veterans appeared on the cover of Time Magazine with the headline, "The New Greatest Generation, How Young War Veterans Are Redefining Leadership At Home." That same evening I attended a local event to honor John and Dale along with the Mayor, a United States Congresswoman, The Chamber of Commerce President, area veterans and several friends. Seven years earlier, these two friends from high school almost lost their lives with the North Carolina National Guard in Iraq, when their Humvee was blown 200 feet in the air by an antitank mine. John suffered a severe brain injury and Dale lost both legs. To me this is a story of triumph after tragedy, when after returning home they determined to create Purple Heart Homes, blessing disabled veterans from all wars who desperately needed handicapped accessible homes. In the process, the hope and encouragement they exude has now spread nationwide. Sadly, Dale Beatty unexpectedly passed away suddenly at the age of 39 due to complications from his war injuries. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says: "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." Our quote for today is from Paul J. Meyer. He said: "Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort." Today, in the Get Things Done podcast we are continuing with Part 9 of our section titled, "Developing a Game Plan to Overcome Procrastination".  In our last episode, we talked about the pros and cons of talking to others about your goals and asking other to hold you accountable if you struggle with procrastination. Today, as we conclude this series on Developing a Game Plan to Overcome Procrastination, we are going to consider how prayer can help you kick the procrastination habit and start getting things done. The philosophy of self-reliance is sound, no doubt, but what about the possibility of seeking assistance from a higher source? Doesn't prayer deserve a listing in our catalog of anti-procrastination techniques? Certainly. It would be folly to overlook a practice that has helped billions of people throughout the ages. If what you are procrastinating on is something important, and if you have religious convictions, by all means use prayer as a means of strengthening your resolve. We've spoken of the benefit you can get from making a commitment to a friend. Obviously, if your commitment is to your Maker instead of to the person sitting at the next desk, your sense of obligation will be infinitely stronger. ...

You have goals. Now what? In this episode of the Inspired To Action Podcast, I'll show you some powerful ways to make it easier to make your goals happen. If you haven't already listened to Goal Setting 101, I recommend you do that first. You can listen to it here. Key Takeaways from Today's Show SMART and HART In the last part of this series, we talked about the importance of making our goals SMART. Today I talk about how our followup needs to have HART. Cute, huh? The SMART idea belongs to Paul J Meyer, but the HART acronym? All mine, baby. I'm a poet and I did not know it. (I want you to know I tried really hard to include an E, but it just didn't work out. So to all Type A people, I'm sorry.) Moving on. So what does HART stand for? H-abitA-ctionR-eviewT-enacity It's relatively easy to set goals, but making them happen is much, much harder. Adding these four elements to my goal follow through has made a huge difference in my focus and success. It has also helped me to overcome some obstacles that had been holding me back. Quick Tips Here are some of my favorite apps for getting things done. All of these apps are free (with optional paid features), most have versions for the web and mobile devices (all except 30/30). I use these daily. Evernote - I use Evernote for everything. I especially love it now that you can add reminders to things like my weekly review note. I use it for most of my writing and planning as well. Wunderlist - this is a great to do list. 30/30 - I love, love, love this app. It's a little quirky and different, but the idea is that it allows you to plan out your day and associate times with each task. Then, when you hit play, the clock starts running. It really helps me to stay on track and not wander off on rabbit trails. Lift - I've just started using this app, but I think it looks like a great app for habit building. Need a refreshing weekend getaway and some motherhood inspiration? The MomHeart Conference, hosted by Sally Clarkson is one of my favorite events of the year. I've attended every winter since I first heard about them. It's a wonderful time of teaching, encouragement and chocolate. I'll be attending the Dallas event, I hope to see you there! Love the song in the outro? It's called God Day. It's by Jen Stanbro and you can get it on iTunes by clicking here and check out Jen's site by clicking here. Take Action Now What is one goal you've set for this year? What habit are you going to start to help you reach your goal? Click here to share your thoughts.
