#alessiosidoti #psicologiadiantares #truecrime #truecrimediaries #coldcase #settasatanica #settesataniche #cronaca #zodiac #zodiackiller #teoriadellacqua #giacomobrunoro #jacopopezzan #psicologia #criminologia #ritualità #compagnidimerende #secondolivello

When a recruiter contacts you, it's essential to do your homework, verify their sources, and trust your instincts. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. While it can be frustrating to be this skeptical, being cautious can protect you and your finances. Today's guest is John Sidoti. John is the Senior Director of Information Technology at Social Current. He has over 30 years of experience as an IT generalist with wide and varied experience across all aspects of the IT spectrum. Show Notes: [0:50] - John shares his background and discusses his extensive and varied career in IT. [3:32] - Even as a director, John keeps hands-on projects going to keep working in the field. [4:45] - John describes an experience of himself falling victim to a scam on LinkedIn. [7:56] - At some point in the process, John realized that something seemed off. [9:40] - After speaking with this scam company, he continued to receive copied and pasted messages from other “recruiters”. [12:21] - Although the copy and website look and sound very legitimate, there are some things we can look for that raise red flags. [14:13] - Many scammers create fake profiles that look very professional and well done. But take the extra step and research the company and individual. [15:57] - In the grand scheme of things, the people who have been victimized by these types of scams are vulnerable and desperate for employment. [18:22] - Anyone can purchase a domain name and pull together a website using a free or cheap template that all look very legitimate. [20:05] - Once you know the markers, you can see them coming. [21:07] - Look at the domain names and how long they have been registered. [22:30] - Don't assume it is just an email world. If a company does not have a legitimate phone number, it is a red flag. [24:02] - Another red flag is when a recruiter has been working with just one single company in their career. [26:45] - Recruiters should not be asking for personal information. The company will do that, not a recruiter. [29:43] - It's okay to be a little cynical about this in order to protect yourself. [31:34] - There are other places that need to be looked at closer as well, specifically Facebook Marketplace. [34:16] - When you look closely at sponsored posts that seem too good to be true, you'll notice that they are all from bots. Thanks for joining us on Easy Prey. InnSure's integrated programs are designed to help insurance professionals and organizations survive and thrive by improving their ability to respond to the disruptive forces that are reshaping the industry. Highlights from the Show Charlie Sidoti spent 20 years with large, P&C carriers on the commercial side, and then 10 years in the analytics space around insurance before founding InnSure, which is a non-profit focused on innovation in the insurance industry around climate change They looked at where investment around climate impact was going for the insurance industry, and it tended to be things to help us exit lines or markets faster (avoiding risk, raising rate), and that didn't seem to solve the real issue or be what insurance is meant to do InnSure engages in its mission in a number of ways, including: Climate Risk and Insurance Sandbox Community Embedded Insurance Initiative - to help communities shape their insurability InnSure Corps - multifunctional group from across and around the industry to take newer talent and help them see how to have an impact and grow their abilities as leaders of the future Interacting with government and administering grants and prizes, such as the one from NYSERDA we talked about later in the episode As a non-profit, InnSure can take a position and engage differently than for-profit, commercial enterprises can, including taking a long term view of things and investing with that horizon The Innovation Prize, which is a $5m program from the NY State Energy Research Development Agency that InnSure is administering by giving grants of $500k to $1m The program is helping to foster ideas past the initial risk in commercialization that many great ideas face early in their journey Insurance in particular can help protect NYSERDA's investments in clean tech, clean transportation and clean buildings, with 5-10 ideas to be supported The idea must be relevant to NY, though it can apply to other geographies in the US, too The application process is open through July 22nd, 2024 at https://innsure.org/prize-page Looking forward, the climate issues are very real now and not just talk, and we are starting to talk about things other than raising rates and exiting. Join me as I chat with David Sidoti, a Florida Bigfoot Researcher. If you want to see this interview live, go check it on YouTube! David Sidoti was born in Milford Conn; his family moved to Florida when he was two years old. Throughout his youth him and his brother explored the forests and swamps of Florida, and North Carolina where they once lived. Nothing was more exhilarating than tromping through the swampy forests of Florida or the hills and mountains of North Carolina. What sparked David's interest in this phenomenon was when he was seven years old, his family watched the Patterson-Gimlin film on a show called “In Searcher Of”. Then later, The Legend of Boggy Creek film propelled his thinking of the realization that there must be something more to all this. David started his research journey about these creatures in 1995. He did a lot of arm-chair research and self-examination for the next three years on the subject and found there to be a lot more to it than meets the eye. During that time, he read a lot of literature from Dr. Grover Krantz, Dr. Jeff Meldrum, John Green, and many others, he also read thousands of eye-witnesses encounters across the US and Canada, and other countries. That is when he realized behavioral patterns that these creatures possess across the country and world. This helped him understand more regarding these creatures' abilities, and their environment that they would live in. In 1998 David joined up with a large organization for a short term, then in the early part of 2000 he founded “The Independent Sasquatch Research Team”. He and his team have been focused on acquiring scientific evidence of these creatures and to try to establish first communication with them, as ambiguous as that sounds. David has investigated many encounters in Florida and other parts of the US, he has been in close contact with these creatures but has not laid eyes on one yet. He has twenty-eight years' experience on the subject, which includes using the knowledge he gained while in & out of the field, conversing with hunters on animal & wilderness awareness, investigating areas of encounters, acquiring the skills needed for definitive evidence collection, which include tracking, DNA collection and self-taught wilderness survival skills, which he feels is a necessity in all aspects of field investigations. He also has worked with Adam Davies on a few of his reported encounters in Florida and hopes to work Adam again in the future. David has also spoke at the very first Great Florida Bigfoot conference in 2021, and was on the Q&A board of the 2022 and 2023 conferences. All this is in conjunction with having great loyal people on our team. You can check out his research here! FaceBook - Florida ISRTUSA FaceBook - David Sidoti https://www.isrtusa.com/
