Your Crimson-Head team return to Silent Hill, for an exclusive, extended interview with Silent Hill Homecoming writers, Patrick J. Doody & Chris Valenziano. With a fractured development history and contentious narrative, it's not surprising Silent Hill Homecoming provokes passionate debate, and passions were definitely rising as our special guests reveal all, on this episode of the Crimson-Head podcast! With Joe Whyte, George Trevor, TheOracleDragon, and official Silent Hill nutcase USS Command.
For this week's episode, Jay continues his selfish endeavor of exploring the Silent Hill series for the first time. This time, Neil leads Jay down the dark and terrifying streets of Silent Hill: Homecoming to celebrate this contentious installment's 15th anniversary. Safe Room is a Bloody Disgusting weekly horror video game podcast with new episodes every Monday and Thursday. My 18th year of podcasting started on July 24th! It's been a fun ride. I'll be at the Southern-Fried Gaming Expo July 28-30th in Atlanta, and hosting a Speedrun Exhibition of Silent Hill: Homecoming by AnEternalEnigma on Saturday night at 10PM! Murder By Numbers is free on Epic Games Store this week, and is a great visual novel Picross games that evokes a lot of Ace Attorney vibes. Arcade Paradise came out on Xbox Game Pass and it is a collection of minigames and not exactly a business management sim. (But it still held my attention to the credits...) Ubisoft may delete your account if you don't log into it for years, and some people have received notifications that look like phishing but aren't. The EU has stated that handheld devices like mobile phones and game devices must have removable batteries by 2027. Then we talk to Rob about SFGE.
There was no episode the previous week because of head congestion, but we're back to talk about going to Disney World and riding the new TRON ride. I also bought some TRON merch, including the action figure experience, which was a cool experience with a disappointing end product. Digital Eclipse is making the Criterion Collection of games called the Gold Master Series, and they are starting it off this year with The Making of Karateka. The FTC was unable to stop the Microsoft-Activision merger, so Sony has accepted the deal to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation for ten years. Bungie has won a court case on behalf of one of their employees, a community manager who was stalked and harrassed by someone who disagreed with Bungie's policies. We will be at the Southern-Fried Gaming Expo in Atlanta on July 28-30, and Bobby will be hosting a speedrun exhibition of Silent Hill: Homecoming with AnEternalEnigma on Saturday evening at 10PM!

Greg and Riley conclude Spooky Month with a retrospective on Silent Hill 4, Silent Hill: Homecoming, Silent Hill: Origins, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Silent Hill: Downpour, and PT. New episodes broadcast live on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/sotdcast Having just woken up and seeking stimulation, the guys focus on creating all the steaming, cloudy FOG FOG John Carpenter's THE FOG puns possible to make sure none get mist. Bound to being on topic, Tom's been on the Yu-Gi-Oh, and Chris is reminiscing about Pokemon Tourneys past. Striving to get us back, Matt's rewatched Twin Peaks 3 and revisited Silent Hill Homecoming, which leads on to an interesting discussion of the series post-Team Silent. Chris then launches himself into the breach with tales of For Honor and being taught a valuable lesson about the options menu. Other topics broadly lanced over include Alone In The Dark, Chinese click farms and Boris Johnson, obviously. This week's focus though was the slow-burning piratey-ghost tale of The Fog. Following some seriously dark shit, from a man of the cloth no less, Antonio Bay is now the home of a curse with an oddly specific kill count. The master John Carpenter from beginning to end employs great technique to build tension, and for the most part succeeds - except for maybe the bloated middle. Still the guys can't help but lapse into reverential talk of Carpenter's Escape series (twice) on their way to the movie's rather unfair conclusion. I guess you might want to check out your family tree for heinous acts your ancestors might have committed - y'know, just in case. We grapple with Silent Hill: Homecoming, the fifth game in the series and the first mainline entry developed by a western studio - a game with lots of ideas but no clue how to tie them all together. We discuss searching for ghostly children, janky souls-like combat, the early-00s obsession with Eli Roth and cramming way too many twists into your story - at least, I think that's what happened? Somebody got a drill to the head in a Silent Hill game, I know that much.

Let's sit down and talk about Silent Hill homecoming, the game itself and and the characters. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/huggablehipster/support

Kole, Ben, Jala, and David talk about Hbomberguy's fantastic streaming event, Desolate, and we ask you which game you thought you'd hate, but ended up loving. The Brief: Hbomberguy raises a tremendous amount of money for Mermaids, a youth trans rights organization. Amazon is getting into game streaming service (opposite Twitch). Lots of salt over EA's canceled Star Wars game. Eximius DMCA drama, aka publishers are bad. The Multiplayer: What's a game you thought you'd hate, but you actually ended up loving? The Grind: Ben: September 1999. What Remains of Edith Finch? Don't Starve Together. Kole: New Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. Silent Hill: Homecoming. Jala: Octopath Traveler. Tiny Bird Garden. Resident Evil 2 One-Shot Demo. David: Desolate.

Episode 32 - Silent Hill: Homecoming This week we take a look at the doofy cousin of the Silent Hill family tree, Homecoming. Every series has ups and downs, but few have such drastic differences between the two as the Silent Hill series, and buddy, we’re riding this slope to the bottom. But he doesn’t care, cuz he’s gotta find his brother Josh! Join us as we attempt to navigate this mess of rusty grating and worthless references in the third installment of Hyperbolic SPOOK Chamber!

You take the good, you take the bad, you talk about bears for a while, and there you have... the Bears In Games Best Of 2009 Awards! Featuring Our Fantastic Returning Guest Hosts Robbie, from Japan, and Max from Gamesters.ca!The ground rules for this podcast was that we actually purchased and played the games which we bitch about. This narrows the playing field somewhat, except for Johnny, who has a very flexible idea of what is worth purchasing if it costs under $20. We start with the part that everyone loves... the Worst of 2009. What pissed us off? What annoyed us? What makes downright lazy game design? Contenders include Tomb Raider Underworld, Silent Hill: Homecoming, the original PlayStation Resident Evil, and more! We then move on to the Bear Awards, where we discuss the hottest bears to come out in 2009, as well as our most secret, shameful choices. There may be some Rufus discussed. And, as you can guess, Zangief makes a triumphant comeback. Finally, we talk about our choices for Game of the Year! You may be shocked! You may be stunned!
