He shares his observations of the media's manipulation and bias during the Trump era and the erosion of constitutional principles. McIntyre emphasizes the importance of understanding power and the role of the managerial elite in shaping society. He challenges the misconception of individual liberty and highlights the need for order and virtue. MacIntyre also addresses the idea of Christians and power, debunking the notion that Christians should give up power and emphasizing the importance of power in effecting positive change. The conversation explores the concept of the managerial elite structure and its impact on society. It discusses how the large bureaucratic structure of social institutions has led to a lack of organic community and bonds. The commodification of religion, particularly in evangelicalism, is also examined. The conversation then delves into the inevitability of the fall of the total state, highlighting the unsustainability of the current managerial structure. The failure of conservative and non-woke liberal strategies to oppose the total state is discussed. The conversation concludes with a focus on the need for smaller, communal communities and the importance of individuals taking responsibility for their communities.TakeawaysThe media's manipulation and bias during the Trump era highlighted the need to question the political system and understand power dynamics. The erosion of constitutional principles and the misconception of individual liberty have led to a loss of order and virtue in society. The managerial elite, operating through bureaucratic systems, shape and control society, often at the expense of individual freedoms.Christians should not shy away from power but should use it to effect positive change and uphold Christian values. The managerial elite structure has led to a lack of organic community and bonds in society. The commodification of religion in evangelicalism can be dehumanizing and perpetuate individualism. The total state is unsustainable and will eventually fall due to the limitations of the current managerial structure.Conservative and non-woke liberal strategies are insufficient to oppose the total state.Creating smaller, communal communities and taking individual responsibility for one's community is crucial for societal change.Support the Show.Sign up for the Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/chasedavisFollow Full Proof Theology on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/fullprooftheology/Follow Full Proof Theology on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/fullprooftheology/

Welcome to today's episode of Managing Around! Imagine a world where every voice, no matter how seemingly contradictory, will be heard. Where the diverse needs, goals, and perspectives within a social work organisation not only coexist but thrive together. This is not a distant utopia. It should be reality in social work institutions. Hybridity and multi-rationality in these organisations help us to understand why and how diverse perspectives and values can coexist, and how we can develop a cohesive strategy for navigating the complex landscape of social work institutions. Today, we dive into how these concepts are revolutionising the way we think about and manage social work, transforming challenges into innovative solutions. So, stay tuned. We start with an exploration of the two concepts and then move on to practical implications for professional practice.Reference:Arnold, M. (2020). Multirationalität und Hybridität. In M. In Part One of this conversation with Joy Donnell, we went deep. Joy's perspective truly helps people think beyond the surface level, which continues here in Part Two. In her book, “Beyond Brand”, Joy discusses changing narratives with the use of media. Here, she shares the moments that led to her getting to into media. Joy is dedicated to doing things differently while honoring her lineage. Questioning the origins of stories is a big theme within Joy's book. After hitting a physical wall of burnout from overworking, Joy was forced to take a time out and question her own journey and purpose. She realized then that she wanted to live a creative life and tap into it as part of her self-care and healing. When we begin with the end in mind, we can tap into what's underneath so many of the stories and narratives we're fed. If you're a storyteller, it's your job to uncover what's beneath the surface. Self-compassion is the key when honoring your needs to rest and take care of yourself. Early in her career, Joy didn't have the self-compassion she has today and didn't honor her body and its needs. She shares her routines and how she makes sure it's a number one priority. What's Inside:How Joy decided to use media to make an impact.Joy's wake up call to honoring her purpose and creativity. How Joy balances self-care and rest with hustling and working Mentioned In This Episode:Listen Then Speak PodcastDo It In PublicHey, SUPERJOYBeyond Brand BookCIME.US

Joy Donnell is a producer, writer, and co-founder of CIME, the Center for Intersectional Media and Entertainment. CIME provides research and resources for storytelling, equity, and Hollywood. Her recent book, “Beyond Brand”, dives into how to use media to live and leave our cultural legacy. Joy has spoken heavily on Hollywood production codes, an era which lasted about 30 years where Hollywood chose to inflict morality standards. These codes essentially taught human beings how to be and included things like suppressed sexuality and not showing race mixing. It was bewildering for Joy to discover, and we discussed how it affected her. When Joy wrote her book, she wanted to talk about embodiment and disembodiment. At speaking engagements, people would always ask her how to build a brand while remaining authentic. Many people think their brand needs to mimic their authenticity, but it's really the other way around. Focusing on your cultural legacy brings people back into their bodies, which is the only way you're able to be human. Joy shares a transformational story from her childhood when she first discovered the dark history of racism in this country and the body she was born into. She felt a range of emotions, but also felt what she calls a divine spark of defiance that helped shape her career and worldview.Joy has a lot more to share, so don't forget to check out Part 2 of this episode. What's Inside:Hollywood's production codes and how they shaped an era of global entertainment. Why focusing on your legacy helps you embrace your authenticity. How Joy surrenders to the body and honors the power of rest. Mentioned In This Episode:Listen Then Speak PodcastDo It In PublicHey, SUPERJOYBeyond Brand BookCIME.US

African Gender Studies Reader (edited), Palgrave: New York (2005). African Women and Feminism: Reflecting on the Politics of Sisterhood (edited), Africa World Press, Trenton: New Jersey (2003). The Invention of Women: Making an African Sense of Western Gender Discourses, University of Minnesota Press, Minneapolis. Referencias: https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oyèrónké Oyèwùmi

He and Professor Robert Boyd (Anthropology, UCLA) headed a multidisciplinary research project that models such behaviors as empathy, reciprocity, insider/outsider behavior, vengefulness, and other observed human behaviors not well handled by the traditional model of the self-regarding agent. Professor Gintis is also author of several books including Game Theory Evolving, The Bounds of Reason, A Cooperative Species, Game Theory in Action, and Individuality and Entanglement and also coeditor, with Joe Henrich, Robert Boyd, Samuel Bowles, Colin Camerer, and Ernst Fehr, of Foundations of Human Sociality: Economic Experiments and Ethnographic Evidence from Fifteen Small-scale Societies, and with Samuel Bowles, Robert Boyd and Ernst Fehr of Moral Sentiments and Material Interests: On the Foundations of Cooperation in Economic Life. In this episode, we talk about sociobiology, game theory, and behavioral science in general. First, we talk about the historical and scientific relevance of sociobiology. Then, we go through one of the big projects of Dr. Gintis' work for the last two decades - a framework for the unification of the behavioral sciences – and the several obstacles that we have to that, including the fact that different behavioral sciences have different approaches and focus on different aspects. We also talk about the relationship between culture and biology. Finally, we go from there to the particularities of human cooperation, group selection, and the role that social institutions play. In this seminar, the recent efforts by the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights (OCR) to enforce Title IX policy are considered in the broader context of unsuccessful attempts to establish protection of sexual violence as a civil right in the United States. OCR enforcement has stimulated both praise for its bold determination to address an epidemic of sexual violence on college campuses and criticism for its capacious exercise of administrative power. Bumiller reframes this debate by considering how these regulatory measures are a new chapter in a varied and complex story about the effectiveness of public enforcement of civil rights statutes through the combination of administrative and judicial action. Her work questions whether over reliance on public agency enforcement potentially weakens the participatory and democratic effects of private action. She also examines how current federal regulations regarding Title IX continue a pattern that over emphasizes criminal justice priorities. Speaker: Kristin Bumiller, George Daniel Olds Professor in Economic and Social Institutions; Chair of Political Science, Amherst College
