Adam Montgomery has been convicted in the death of his 5-year-old daughter, Harmony. Her body has never been recovered. It only took the jury six hours of deliberation spread over two days, to hand down the verdict. Police said that “on or about Dec. 7, 2019,” Montgomery repeatedly struck 5-year-old Harmony “in the head with a closed fist.” New Hampshire police say the then 5-year-old vanished sometime between November 28 and December 10, 2019. Her disappearance was not reported for two years. The family of Harmony Montgomery says the New Hampshire Division For Children Youth and Families failed the little girl. According to Blair Miller, who adopted Harmony's younger brother, DCYF officials told him, Harmony had been reunited with her father. Miller had asked about the possibility of adopting Harmony as well. According to court documents, Kevin Montgomery, Adam's Uncle, called DCYF after he noticed Harmony had a black eye. Kevin Montgomery later told police his nephew, Adam, admitted to physically abusing Harmony. A sketch of a possible suspect in the brutal Maryland murder of Rachel Morin has now been released. DNA collected at the scene linked the suspect to another assault across the country in Los Angeles. A doorbell camera captures the suspect as the left the California home, but it didn't show the suspect's face. Working with a sketch artist, investigators interviewed the witnesses of the home invasion in Los Angeles, as well as witnesses in Maryland, especially around the Ma and Pa trail. Some new information has been released about where Rachel Morin's body was found and where investigators believe her killer was hiding. Captain Andy Lane says there are drainage culverts along the trail, but most people wouldn't notice them because they are hidden by shrubbery and trees in the summertime. Standing at the scene, there is a bend in the trail near the hidden culverts. Investigators believe the killer attacked Morin in the bend on the trail, then drug her body through the weeds, trees, and undergrowth to the culverts. That is where Rachel Morin was murdered. Hours after a judge awards sole custody of four children to their mother and the father is forced to leave the home, the judge is gunned down in a targeted attack. Judge Andrew Wilkinson suffered multiple gun shot wounds in his own driveway. Police have named Pedro Argote as the suspect, who abandoned his car around ten miles from Wilkerson's home. Argote has now eluded police for six days, and investigators say they believe Argote has left the immediate area. While many questions remain unanswered, new details are emerging in the murder of mom-of-5, Rachel Morin. We are learning that Morin stopped in a tanning salon she frequented before hitting the gym with new boyfriend, Richard Tobin. Tobin reportedly dropped Morin at home before she drove herself to one of two 'Ma and Pa' trailheads. In a now deleted Facebook comment, Tobin stated that he and Morin's children began searching for her around 9 p.m. and Tobin called in a missing person's report around 11:30 p.m. Employees at the tanning salon where Morin reportedly kept a "daily appointment" say that Morin would keep them updated on her dating life, and was still actively using multiple dating sites, despite announcing her relationship with Tobin online. Police may be looking to men Morin matched with as potential suspects. Police are also asking the community to submit tips on any information possibly related to the case. 5 dog walkers on the trail at the time of Morin's hike have been identified and questioned, hopefully helping investigators establish if Morin was alone, narrow down the timeframe in which the murder occurred, and find who did this to Rachel Morin. Investigators looking into the shocking death of 37-year-old Rachel Morin, have been tight-lipped on how the mom of five died, the type of injuries she sustained or whether she was fully clothed or not. They're also pushing back on comments made by Michael Gabriszeski, who claims that his stepdaughter, Cecilia, found the body of Rachel Morin. Gabriszeski said that Cecilia saw Morin's body first and she began hyperventilating. He says police told Cecilia to sit down, and that she did, in a big pool of blood. Gabriszeksi says Morin was laying on her back, fully naked, and she had brutal head trauma. It looked like her head had been smashed with a rock. The Hartford Sheriff's Office Spokesperson said of Gabriszeski, quote "He has no first-hand knowledge of the crime scene." The spokesman says Mr. Gabriszeski was in the area to help search for the missing woman, but "was not within eyesight of the crime scene”. Ep. 45 Knocko Nolan has served on two of the country's largest and finest police departments, NYPD and LAPD where he is now currently a detective sergeant. While on patrol, Knocko worked Brooklyn and Manhattan, as well Hollywood and downtown Los Angeles including Skid Row.In his nearly three decades of service, Knocko has been on a wide range of units including Narcotics, Vice, the Career Criminal Unit where he tracked and investigated violent repeat offenders; the infamous anti-gang unit CRASH where he collected intelligence on street and prison gangs and participated in undercover, reverse-sting operations; a Special Victims squad that investigated assaults and sex crimes perpetrated against children; and the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force in which he held a Top Secret government clearance and investigated international terrorist groups, a role he chose after 9/11. A New York native, Knocko first joined LAPD in 1996, then returned to NY in 2000 to serve with NYPD for four years which included 9/11. He was one of the many of New York's finest who worked tirelessly with fellow first responders for a year at Ground Zero. He later returned to LAPD in 2004.This interview is particularly meaningful to me because I lived in LA during the Rodney King riots and later in New York during 9/11. We discuss our shared experiences of Los Angeles and of course of that fateful day for our country. New court documents released this week reveal that a bone fragment was found when forensic investigators took apart a hacksaw found in a dumpster near Brian Walshe's mother's home. Police also found Ana's COVID-19 vaccination card, her Volkswagen keys, clothing and jewelry. Surveillance footage also reveals that Brian Walshe bought cleaning supplies around the time of his wife's disappearance. The images show Walshe wearing a face mask and pushing a shopping cart in a Home Depot. He purchased several things, including mops, brushes, tarps, Scotch Heavy duty tape, a Tyvek suit coverall, two splash-resistant goggles, and more. When the Walshe home was searched, many of those items were found. Walshe was also spotted at a Lowe's. That is where he allegedly bought $450 worth of tools, including a hacksaw that contained the bone fragment. Murder charges now filed in disappearance of Harmony Montgomery. New Hampshire police say that dad Adam Montgomery has been officially charged with second-degree murder charge. Just one day after Keaira Hudson's estranged husband was released from jail on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge, 45-year-old Adam Bennefield shot her dead. Just days before her death Hudson posted a video of herself being brutally beaten by Bennefield, on Facebook. As Hudson left to take her children to school just around the corner, she put on a bulletproof vest, but that would not protect her from multiple shots. Attorneys for disgraced South Carolina lawyer Alex Murdaugh are pointing the finger at Murdaugh's cousin Curtis "Eddie" Smith. In a new court filing, the lawyers say that Smith, who reportedly failed a polygraph, should have been more rigorously investigated as a prime suspect by police. During a polygraph five months ago, Smith was asked three times about his involvement in the shootings that killed Maggie and Paul Smith. Smith replied, no, to those questions, meaning he was not involved. Police sources say Smith's answers indicate an attempt at deception. He lied. Today, Will teaches us that we can respond differently to how others treat us and that we can be in control of our feelings and our emotions. Kerry Brett and Will Kesselman cover a lot of ground. Topics include; How to use pain to catapult you forward, especially in online dating. Will's golden rule of being responsive, not reactive, and how it serves him in his life. How behavior can lead to thoughts, then thoughts lead to emotions. How we feel about ourselves matters in who they will attract. How women have a gatekeeper which is usually a best friend or sister, when vetting people to date. How to get an emotional response with the words you use when texting.A big red flag to Will is someone who's not flexible; the relationship is being set up as one-sided, or the person is being too dominant. This is trouble and not going to work.Women should never settle or make excuses for poor behavior because they don't want to start over. Why it's so difficult to leave a toxic relationship because of the emotional bonding. Why women are likely to get addicted to a relationship quicker than a man.Narcissists have to feed and are brilliant manipulatives and need to have a woman to dominate. Will's advice around the mistakes women make when dating?Women need to understand they have more control and are worth more than they think. The importance of a buddy system when dating.Men will respond favorably when the woman stands in her power, and if they don't respond favorably, they aren't for you.To find out more about Will Kesselman, go to www.controlandpower.com, follow him on Instagram @will_wise_words, on LinkedIn under Will K., and Clubhouse or Owwll under Will Kesselman.

An eternity ago I met a young Chris Perez, working together at REI, hiking, biking, going to school and starting our young families. We had a lot in common and became fast friends. Perez graduated and became a local police officer, serving in every possible capacity (see below). In Episode 69 Commander Perez and I discuss some of the lessons learned during his storied career and how we still have many things in common, the most obvious being our desire to be firefighters, I mean public servants. Enjoy the episode. A little more about our guest… Commander Chris Pérez, began his career with the Chandler Police Department in 1997, after serving in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. He has worked in numerous patrol positions throughout the department. In 2000 he became an investigator as part of the Neighborhood Response Team. In 2004 Pérez changed roles and became a School Resource Officer, instructing students in the Chandler Unified School District. In this assignment, Pérez created the Chandler Police Department Wilderness Experience, an outdoor, experiential education opportunity that serves middle school students. This successful program is still active today. In 2004 he returned to the Criminal Investigations Bureau as a Special Victims detective, where he investigated violent crime and crimes against children. During his tenure, Pérez oversaw some of the city's most high-profile cases and sought justice for victims. In 2012 he was promoted to sergeant and returned to patrol until 2014 when he was selected to return to the Special Victims Unit as Detective Sergeant. This provided the opportunity to oversee the direction of investigations, enhance best practices and serve as co-coordinator for the State of Arizona Child Abduction Response Team. He also served on an advisory committee in Washington D.C. developing a national protocol for sex abuse medical forensic examinations, in conjunction with the Department of Justice, the Department of Interior, the Bureau of Indian Affairs and Human Health Services. In 2014, Pérez assumed leadership of the Honor Guard as an ancillary duty, and in 2015 he was promoted to lieutenant, serving as watch commander over patrol. In 2016 he was selected to lead the department's Special Investigations Section overseeing all Gang, Criminal Intelligence, Narcotics and Human Trafficking investigations. In January of 2020, Commander Perez was assigned as the Operational Support Bureau Commander. Perez oversees the daily operations of the following units: SWAT, Criminal Apprehension Unit (CAU), K-9 Unit, Motor Unit, DUI Unit, Vehicular Crimes Unit, Bike Team Unit, Training Unit, SRO Unit, Park Ranger Unit, Volunteers in Policing Unit, Detention Services Unit, and our Police Cadet Unit. Commander Pérez earned a bachelor's degree in history from Arizona State University in 1997 and holds a master's degree (2010) in education from Northern Arizona University. In his spare time, Commander Pérez is an outdoor enthusiast, an Adjunct College Professor of Justice Studies and also presents case studies and lectures throughout the United States. ____________________________ You can find the Fireground Fitness podcast wherever great podcasts are located. The trauma still haunts their family two years later. Jusika also shares the actions she's taking today so that other military families don't have to endure the same experiences. “My key takeaway is that the military didn't believe us. ... To hear them invalidate it and also just kind of brush it to the side is what really has impacted this whole journey. The parents of a 10-year-old Arizona girl have been charged with murder after the girl’s remains were found in an attic after a house fire— three years after the girl disappeared. An investigation began when an 11-year-old girl called police and said she’d been left in her Phoenix home alone for two days and was hungry. Authorities said the girl reported that she’d been neglected and abused by her adoptive parents Maribel Loera, 51, and Rafael Loera, 57. She said that Maribel Loera was in Minnesota with two siblings, a 4-year-old boy, and a 9-year-old girl. The girl told investigators that Maribel struck her with knotted extension cords, and officials said she had injuries that were consistent with being struck by a “rope-like object.” She also told officials she had an older sister who vanished in 2017. She said that Maribel told her the girl was adopted and sent to Columbia, but Rafael said she was sent to Mexico.Phoenix police officers who responded to the call said the home was in “disarray” and ahs feces on the floor. While fighting the fire, the child's remains fell out of the attic. The death of a New York infant has been labeled a homicide. Pix11 reports that authorities were called to a home in October 2020, off of Liberty Avenue in Jamaica, about an unresponsive child. When deputies arrived, they found 7-month-old Kameri Garriques unconscious but with no signs of physical trauma. First responders rushed the infant to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Investigators said the baby appeared to be malnourished. As CrimeOnline reported, the child’s mother, Carla Garriques, 28, said that she kept him on a Biblical vegan diet and wasn’t “going to carry a fat a**child.” Garriques reportedly admitted that her baby was small for his age, but she claimed she, too, has always been small, adding that a vegan diet prevented her son from consuming “formula where it has chemicals in it.”Garriques told the New York Post that she did initially feed her son baby formula, but started the vegan diet after her son developed thrush. Garriques’ mother, who also spoke to the Post, interjected and said the baby was fed “fruits and vegetables…crushed with boiled potatoes.”Joining Nancy Grace today:Melissa Hoppmeyer - Chief, Special Victims & Family Violence Unit, Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office, Co-Founder of Right Response Consulting, "No Grey Zone" Podcast, www.rightresponseconsulting @NoGreyZoneRRCDr. Angela Arnold - Psychiatrist, Atlanta GA www.AngelaArnoldMD.comDr. Michelle Dupre - Forensic Pathologist and former Medical Examiner, Author: “Homicide Investigation Field Guide” & "Investigating Child Abuse Field Guide", Ret. This episode is completely different than normal. OTCP, along with 19 other podcasters from around the world, came together to stand with the BLM movement. Although we had a very small part in the making of this episode, we are so thrilled to be part of it. All proceeds we make on this episode will be donated to The Loveland Foundation Therapy Fund. https://thelovelandfoundation.org/loveland-therapy-fund/ As podcasters, we have a platform and duty to speak up and call out injustice. In light of the murder of George Floyd, we have come together in solidarity to use our platform to speak up against racial injustice and amplify the voices of black podcasters that deserve more recognition. Racism is prevalent in all industries; from the media who under-report on black victims to the justice system which routinely fails black victims. In this collaborative episode, we document black history and current events with the voices of those who have lived through it.Special thanks to:Tasha from Sinister Silhouettes https://linktr.ee/tcbytbAndre and Battle from Bruh Issa Murder https://linktr.ee/BruhissamurderSerena from Handcuffed Podcast https://linktr.ee/handcuffedpodcastAaron from True Crime? I'm part of an elite squad known as the Special Victims -- no, wait, actually it's just a Twitter thread called Just Be Social, which you can find at the hashtag Just Be Social or sometimes hashtag JBS. My second episode of this podcast was with Mollie, another JBS member, and this one is with Brenda Hill, who is Kansas City-based by way of Chicago and some other places. She's had a varied, interesting career, and we talk about that. She also has two Gen Z sons, and we talk about her perceptions of what Gen Z might want from work as they start entering the workforce. We also talk about some ridiculous work crap and how one of my old roommates in Houston used to scream every Sunday afternoon about a portal being down. It's a pretty fun conversation. Hope you dig it.
