Dr. Brandy Stark started the SPIRITS of St. Petersburg in 1997, when she first started her academic research into the role of the liminal. She took her research to conferences and expanded into studying the lore and legends of Tampa Bay. She was able to utilize her connections at the University of South Florida to do her first official ghost hunt in 1999, which she later wrote up as an article for the USFSP student paper, The Crow's Nest. From there, she did talks in the local community and met other individuals curious about the supernatural. She officially founded the SPIRITS of St. Petersburg paranormal investigation team in 2000, and it remains an active group today. Over the years, she has done approximately 400 investigations locally, nationally, and internationally on her own and with her team. Stark's goal is to involve the community in the research so that others can distinguish natural causes from those of more questionable origin. She has worked to create a reasonable and compassionate view of the supernatural world by integrating ideas and academic discussions of symbolism, cultural interpretation, and respect for others (dead or living). She is the host for the Paranormal Pets podcast now at over 110 episodes. Stark also authored a book on local paranormal phenomena called "Supernatural Saint Petersburg and Paranormal Pinellas." In addition, she is the guide for the "Shadows in the Sunshine" walking ghost tour of downtown St. Petersburg. Tours are created upon request and kept to small groups.Visit The 'X' Zone Radio Show on Classic 1220 (AM 1220 CFAJ) at www.xzoneradioonclassic1220.ca To Listen to ALL of The 'X' Zone Broadcast Network Shows visit https://www.spreaker.com/user/the-x-zone-broadcast-network--6851922Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-x-zone-radio-tv-show--1078348/support.

If you'd been living in the 1800's you might have found yourself sitting at a lunch table asking your friends, “What are y'all talking about? What is “tennis”?” Today you're more likely to ask, “What is pickleball?” Pickleball Like tennis, pickleball is played on a court with a net. The ball is a kind of wiffleball. And instead of a racket, a pickleball bat looks like a big ping-pong bat. Pickleball is, reportedly, the world's fastest growing sport. In 2021 there were 5 million players. By 2023 there were over 36 million. It's growing about 300% a year. Here in New Orleans, you can play pickleball at The Exchange Pickleball and Bar. Yes, because it's New Orleans, it's a sports complex with a bar. The Exchange - off of Tchoupitoulas Street, near Walmart - is a $3m development that opened in August 2023. And, like pickleball itself, it was an instant success. The developer and owner of The Exchange Pickleball and Bar is Renee Melchiode. Sailing Sailing started out as a means of survival. To get to where the fish are. Or to migrate to other lands. Now, like pickleball, sailing is a pastime. But getting out onto the ocean, or even Lake Pontchartrain, requires a financial commitment greater than a couple of pickleball bats. Judging by the number of boats at South Shore Harbor Marina and The Southern Yacht Club, there are plenty of New Orleanians with enough discretionary income to get themselves out on the water. Walking around these moorings you might wonder, “Where do all these boats come from?” One answer to that question is Murray Yacht Sales. The boat brokerage was founded in 1974 by Tim Murray. Tim's son, Stanton, took over the business in the early 1990's, and today Murray Yacht Sales has brokerages in New Orleans, Houston, and St Petersburg Florida. Beyond New Orleans, Murray Yacht Sales' brokers, boats and clients are scattered across the Gulf South, in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. PIckleball Sailing if you'll excuse the irony, it's generally unwise to make generalizations. Especially about people. But it's probably safe to bet that almost everybody reading this has either just put their phone down, is just about to pick it up, or maybe you have it in your hand right now. There's something liberating about an activity that gets us away from our screens, puts us firmly in the real world, and requires a combination of 100% physical exertion and mental focus. Although they're very different, sailing and pickleball are both in this category. We can thank Renee for going out on a limb and taking a serious financial risk to bring the fun of pickleball to New Orleans, and in a lifetime dedicated to sailing Stanton's business continues to be a gateway to joy for countless thousands, in New Orleans and across the Gulf South. Out to Lunch is recorded live over lunch at NOLA Pizza in the NOLA Brewing Taproom. You can find photos from this show at itsneworleans.com. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The best way to ramp your game up and know how to play any hand in any spot by drilling it over and over again: https://advancedpokertraining.... Use code: lowlimit For 25% discount Recap of todays episode. Derby lane, Win! Derby Tall tables, big tables. 9 comfortable Good dealers (Randall) Good food 1/3 prime $200 to $1500 7 +3 rake $3 JP 1@ 10, 20, 30 $7 Rk 1@ 5,15,25,35,45,55,65 $1 JP is just for prime tables. Any quads you get instant pay $500 The other $2 JP puts you also in for room high hand promotions which were good every day i was there. All drinks free, even alcoholic You accumulate $3 rake back which you can claim for food at 5 hours. So $15 food voucher When you log 50 hours a month you get $500 cash redeemable the following month I've done some math and these comes out better than the 6/2 rake at a lot of poker rooms in Florida with the kick backs. Especially if you normally eat food while you okay. It's way better than rooms like Jacksonville that take a piece even if there isn't a drop which is egregious. Derby is no flop no drop. You are encouraged to play solid tight aggressive poker because of the rake. And play bigger pots. Consider a $35 pot 7 will come out. That's 23% To get the full rake to reasonable you'd need a $200 pot at which point they are taking 5%. I founds this wasn't a problem as my $25 raises over one or two limpers was usually called by a couple of players. I found that most players played at least $500 and higher with the occasional &200 stack sitting in. I didn't play the 1/2 game but a dealer was explaining it to a player at the table. 1/2 has an instant high hand payout as well for quads but it's only $150. If you have logged 60 hours that month and you hit then you get double. $300. No free drinks. No food comps. Cons. Win! derby. What a name lol Chips are horrible. 5 different designs and colors. Several days with 8, and 10 tables only one waitress. Took forever to get drink orders. Jessica was amazing tho. She did a 14 hour shift one day and I was there entire 14 hours and she worked her ass off. Charge you for the entire meal if you just order the protein with no sides. My first two days I ordered only the chicken or the fish no sides they cut a small discount. The last day , Jessica the same waitress , said I put it in as $8.95 and they put it though but said to tell you from now own you pay the full meal price of $16 for the meal. Even if you only get the meat. Way to nickel and dime people. But it's not just them. Lots of rooms do this. But for the record. It's dumb. Cut carnivores a break. It's less work for cooks and less food you are sending out. One person can over ride bomb pot during promo hours. Staff cleared our entire table one day with transfers. Didn't pay high hand because floor didn't make it to table until 2 minutes after high hand period ended. Dealer confirmed it happened before. Unacceptable

Inspired by memories of the shared family table, he began working in all areas of hospitality, including, service, management, and operations.During his senior year at Florida State University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Film, Gigante, made his foray into the restaurant world, opening Gigamo Bros pizzeria. A few short years later, while pursuing acting and hospitality in NYC, Gigante worked with and befriended the Lanza family, successful entrepreneurs with a passion for restaurants.Rising from food runner to trusted manager, Gigante convinced James Lanza to come to Tampa Bay, a city he saw as bright with potential for food and beverage and entertainment concepts. Lanza was hooked and together the two would co found along with chef Luis Flores, Ciccio Restaurant Group, establishing multiple popular brands over the better part of two decades. In 2019, Gigante, with an eye towards his own vision, opened Forbici Modern Italian, in Tampa's Hyde Park Village, known for Roman style pizza and pastas, in a lively, convivial atmosphere. The formation of Next Level Brands is a natural evolution and the culmination of Gigante's life's work.
