Michael “$noop” Segal is an attorney in Los Angeles, California, and an officer in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. Prior to becoming an attorney, he served as a combat F-15 fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force. Michael started his flying career in the F-15C learning how to gain and maintain air superiority. He later transitioned to the F-15E, where he developed his skills as a multirole combat aviator. While serving as an F-15E pilot, he deployed to Afghanistan and led airmen in combat during Operation Enduring Freedom. After leaving Active Duty in 2016, Michael attended the UCLA School of Law. Major General James Lee Dozier is a retired U.S. Army officer who served 35 years with the U.S. Army and NATO in the United States, Europe and Asia. He was commissioned as an Army officer in 1956 following graduation from West Point. He earned a master's degree from the University of Arizona in aerospace engineering and is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College and the Army War College. During his service in Vietnam, General Dozier was awarded both the Silver Star and Bronze Star for heroism and the Purple Heart for combat wounds. In 1981 he was kidnapped by Red Brigades terrorists in Italy and held for 42 days before being rescued. General Dozer's conduct during this harrowing period was recognized by President Ronald Reagan with several invitations to visit the White House. On retirement from active service in 1985, Dozier returned to Florida and became a leader in agribusiness for 20 more years before retiring again in 2004. Since 1985 General Dozier has been actively involved in community groups and veterans' organizations, including the Lee County Electric Cooperative, the Southwest Florida Community Foundation, the Florida Commission on Veterans Affairs, the Southwest Council Boy Scouts of America, the Fort Myers Heart Walk, Rotary Club, the Lee Coast Chapter Military Officers Association of America, Good Wheels and the local Congressman's Service Academy Nominating Committee, among others. In 2015 he was inducted by Governor Scott into the Florida Veterans Hall of Fame. In this episode, he talks about his time at West Point, his relationship with Maj Gen George Patton IV and Gen Norman Schwarzkopf, and lessons from his kidnapping and captivity. Brigadier General Jason M. Rueschhoff is the Commander, 56th Fighter Wing, Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. The wing's mission is to train the world's greatest fighter pilots and combat ready Airmen. As part of Air Education and Training Command, and home to 26 squadrons with both F-16 Fighting Falcon and F-35A Lightning II aircraft, the 56th FW is the largest fighter wing in the Air Force and graduates more than 105 F-35 pilots, 188 F-16 pilots and 300 air control professionals annually. Additionally, the 56th FW oversees the Gila Bend Air Force Auxiliary Field and is steward of the Barry M. Goldwater Range, a military training range spanning more than 1 million acres of Sonoran desert. General Rueschhoff earned his commission and Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Air Force Academy in 1997. He holds three Masters Degrees; one in Military Operational Art and Science, one in Airpower Art and Science, and one in Strategic Studies. General Rueschhoff has commanded at the squadron, group and wing level. Joanna Morales is a cancer rights attorney, author, speaker, and CEO of Triage Cancer, a national, nonprofit organization providing free education on practical and legal issues that may impact individuals coping with cancer and their caregivers, through events, materials, and resources.Ms. Morales has spent nearly thirty years working on behalf of individuals with cancer, including five as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Loyola Law School, teaching a seminar in Cancer Rights Law, and eight at the John Wayne Cancer Institute's Psychosocial Care Program and Positive Appearance Center. She has also taught a Community Advocacy Clinic, as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Wayne State University Law School.Ms. Morales co-authored the book, Cancer Rights Law, for the American Bar Association – the first and only book of its kind. George R. Mastroianni served as a US Army Research Psychologist, where he worked in a variety of biomedical laboratories and other military research settings. His research experience included aviation human factors, the effects of laser exposure on human vision and performance, modeling and simulation of human performance, and operational testing of new Army equipment. Dr. Mastroianni worked as a Professor of Psychology at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO from 1997 until 2016, where he taught Biopsychology, Learning and Memory, Sensation and Perception, and Introduction to the Behavioral Sciences. He also served as Chair of the Institutional Review Board and as Chair of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. Dr. Mastroianni currently teaches in the Master's in the Psychology of Leadership program in the World Campus at the Pennsylvania State University.Dr. Mastroianni has published widely and co-edited A Warrior's Guide to Psychology and Performance, created on the model of two WWII works produced for soldiers by psychologists. Dr. Mastroianni is interested in leadership and ethical behavior, and has commented extensively on the 2003 abuses at Abu Ghraib. His scholarly interests for the last several years have centered on the psychology of the Holocaust. William “Doc” Black (Fayetteville, Tennessee) is a U.S. Navy Combat Veteran, Warriors Heart Alumni and Warriors Heart Foundation Board Member, who deployed as a Line Corpsman in Iraq 2004-2006. He served with 2nd Marine Division, and most notably served as a combat replacement for 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines.
