Juni 2026 gelten neue Regeln für den Widerruf von Lebens- und Rentenversicherungen. Für neu abgeschlossene Verträge erlischt das Widerrufsrecht künftig spätestens nach 24 Monaten und 30 Tagen, auch wenn der Versicherer gegen seine Informationspflichten verstoßen hat. Auf bestehende Verträge hat die Gesetzesänderung jedoch keine Auswirkungen. Der Verbraucherschutzverein Bund der Versicherten e. V. (BdV) empfiehlt Verbraucherinnen und Verbrauchern deshalb weiterhin, ihre Möglichkeiten sorgfältig prüfen zu lassen, bevor sie eine Lebens- oder Rentenversicherung beenden. „Viele Versicherte wissen nicht, dass für ihre Altverträge weiterhin die bisherigen Regelungen gelten können. Wer vorschnell kündigt, verschenkt unter Umständen Geld“, sagt man beim BdV-Vorstand. „Wir müssen aber auch warnen. Die Versicherer blocken beim Widerruf. Und die Rechtsprechung ist restriktiv und wenig verbraucherfreundlich. Ansprüche von Versicherten werden häufig mit dem Vorhalt des Rechtsmissbrauchs zurückgewiesen.“ Für Lebens- und Rentenversicherungen, die vor dem 19. Juni 2026 abgeschlossen wurden, bleibt das bisherige Recht maßgeblich. Wurde die Widerrufsbelehrung fehlerhaft erteilt, kann ein Widerruf auch heute noch möglich sein. In einem solchen Fall kann der Widerruf finanziell deutlich attraktiver sein als eine Kündigung. Während Versicherte bei einer Kündigung meist nur den Rückkaufswert erhalten, können sie bei einem erfolgreichen Widerruf unter Umständen zusätzlich die Abschlusskosten zurückverlangen. „Ob ein Widerruf durchsetzbar ist oder nur eine Kündigung als bessere Lösung bleibt, hängt sehr vom Einzelfall ab“, sagt der BdV. Verbraucherinnen und Verbraucher sollten ihre Rechte vor einer Entscheidung unabhängig prüfen lassen. Vorsicht geboten ist vor Finanzvermittlern oder Unternehmen, die aufdringlich eine Rückabwicklung anpreisen. Oft zahlt man hier unnötige Entgelte, Anwaltshonorare oder zusätzliche Gutachterkosten. Kritisch bewertet der BdV die neue gesetzliche Regelung für Neuverträge. Bislang mussten Versicherungsunternehmen die Folgen fehlerhafter oder unvollständiger Informationen tragen. Was danach oft in Vergessenheit gerät: der gemeinsame Versicherungsschutz.  „Nach einer Scheidung oder Trennung sollten gemeinsame Versicherungsverträge unbedingt auf den Prüfstand – und bei Bedarf angepasst werden. Ob Scheidung oder Aufhebung einer eingetragenen Lebenspartnerschaft – beides kann den Versicherungsschutz verändern und das losgelöst von den üblichen Kündigungsfristen eines Vertrags. Deshalb sollte man gezielt prüfen, ob der eigene Vertrag solche besonderen Regelungen enthält“, sagt man beim Bund der Versicherten e. V. (BdV). Zu den praktischen Folgen einer Scheidung gehört oft auch eine Namensänderung. Nimmt die Frau beispielsweise ihren Geburtsnamen wieder an und zieht in eine eigene Wohnung, ist sie verpflichtet, dem Versicherer ihre Namensänderung sowie ihre neue Anschrift mitzuteilen. Tut sie dies nicht, kann der Versicherer ihr zwar keine Briefe zustellen. Die Schreiben gelten aber dennoch als zugestellt und die Frau würde beispielsweise Rechnungen nicht empfangen und angemahnt werden. „Sobald eine Scheidung absehbar ist, sollten beide Seiten klären, wer die gemeinsamen Versicherungsverträge übernehmen möchte oder übernehmen kann“, sagt man. Für die im Versicherungsschein genannten Versicherungsnehmer ist es einfach: Sie oder er führt den Vertrag weiter. Wer den Vertrag nicht fortsetzen kann, muss sich um einen neuen passenden Versicherungsschutz kümmern. Dieser sollte die K.-o.-Kriterien des BdV der jeweiligen Sparte erfüllen. Besonders heikel ist, wenn ein Partner im Zuge der Scheidung den Versicherungsschutz verliert, ohne davon etwas mitzubekommen. Deutlich wird das am Beispiel der Privathaftpflichtversicherung (PHV). In dieser können Partner mitversichert werden. Eheleute sind oftmals ohne konkrete Nennung mitversichert, bei Unverheirateten muss der Versicherungsnehmer oftmals den Partner dem Versicherer melden. Bei Unverheirateten wird üblicherweise verlangt, dass sie in einem gemeinsamen Haushalt leben. Ehepartner bleiben oftmals auch bei einer Trennung mitversichert, solange die Ehe noch besteht. Es sei denn, ein Ehepaar trennt sich und ein Partner zieht aus, noch bevor die Scheidung vollzogen ist. Bei aller Vorfreude sollten Reisende jedoch die finanziellen Risiken einer Krankheit oder eines Unfalls im Ausland nicht unterschätzen. „Im Urlaub medizinische Hilfe zu erhalten, kann je nach Reiseland hohe Kosten verursachen – insbesondere ein Rücktransport kann sehr teuer werden“, sagt man beim Bund der Versicherten e. V. (BdV).  Daher sollte bei der Urlaubsplanung das Thema Versicherungen nicht zu kurz kommen. Allerdings sind nicht alle Reiseversicherungen sinnvoll.   Darauf kommt es bei der Auslandsreisekrankenversicherung an Eine der essenziellen Absicherungen für Reisen ins Ausland ist die Auslandsreisekrankenversicherung (ARKV). Sie übernimmt die Kosten für eine Heilbehandlung im Ausland und für einen medizinisch notwendigen Rücktransport, die von der gesetzlichen Krankenkasse nicht übernommen werden. Beim Abschluss einer Auslandsreisekrankenversicherung sollten Verbraucherinnen und Verbraucher darauf achten, dass der Versicherer die Kosten für den Rücktransport aus dem Ausland zum ständigen Wohnsitz oder dem vom ständigen Wohnsitz nächstgelegenen und geeigneten Krankenhaus trägt, wenn der Rücktransport medizinisch sinnvoll und vertretbar ist. Dies gilt auch für den Fall einer stationären Heilbehandlung, die nach ärztlicher Prognose länger als 14 Tage andauern würde. Außerdem sollte eine Erkrankung, die bereits vor Antritt der Reise bestand, mitversichert sein, wenn sie sich während der Auslandsreise verschlimmert.   Auslandsreisekrankenversicherung: Auf diese Kriterien sollten Sie achten. Wichtig: Vorhersehbare Behandlungen sind vom Versicherungsschutz der ARKV grundsätzlich ausgeschlossen. Vorhersehbar ist eine Behandlung beispielsweise dann, wenn sie für die Reisezeit geplant war oder schon vor Reiseantritt feststand. „Reisekrankenschutz ist oft in Kreditkarten eingeschlossen – aber Vorsicht: Die Leistungen sind in der Regel deutlich schlechter als bei einer gesonderten Auslandsreisekrankenversicherung“, sagt man beim BdV. So sind beispielsweise die Such-, Rettungs- und Bergungskosten nicht versichert und die Versicherungssummen meist niedriger. Zudem kann es sein, dass nur dann Versicherungsschutz besteht, wenn die Reise mit der Kreditkarte gebucht wurde. „Wir raten daher dazu, sich zusätzlich über einen separaten Vertrag abzusichern“.   Reisegepäckversicherung: Oft lückenhafter Versicherungsschutz    Auch Reisegepäck- und Reiserücktrittversicherungen sieht man kritisch. Sie sicherten keine existenziellen Risiken ab und oft ist nicht nachvollziehbar, wann Versicherte eine Leistung erwarten können. (BdV) gibt Fahrradtipps: Privathaftpflicht ist ein Muss, beim Diebstahlschutz gibt es verschiedene Optionen Radfahren boomt, doch viele vernachlässigen die Wartung ihres Drahtesels. Laut aktueller DEKRA/Ipsos-Fahrradstudie verzichten 68 Prozent der Radbesitzer auf einen regelmäßigen Service. „Vor einer Radtour gehört nicht nur das Fahrrad auf den Prüfstand, sondern auch der Versicherungsschutz. Eine Privathaftpflichtversicherung ist unverzichtbar und beim Thema Diebstahl stehen verschiedene Absicherungsoptionen zur Wahl“, sagt man beim Bund der Versicherten e. V. (BdV). Egal ob Wochenendausflug oder Urlaubstour: Eine Privathaftpflichtversicherung sollte immer mit im Gepäck sein. Denn wer beim Radfahren einen Unfall verursacht und dabei andere Menschen verletzt oder fremdes Eigentum beschädigt, muss den Schaden aus eigener Tasche begleichen. Es sei denn, die Haftpflichtversicherung springt ein. Doch wie sieht es mit dem Schutz des eigenen Rads aus? „Die Hausratversicherung kann auch unterwegs helfen. Wird das Fahrrad aus einem verschlossenen Raum gestohlen – zum Beispiel aus dem Keller eines Hotels oder dem Abstellraum einer Ferienwohnung – ist das ein klassischer Einbruchdiebstahl, der über die Hausratpolice abgedeckt ist“, sagt der BdV. Auf dem Campingplatz lässt sich dieser Schutz jedoch kaum umsetzen. Worauf es bei der Fahrradabsicherung in der Hausratversicherung ankommt, erklärt das BdV-Infoblatt „Hausratversicherung“. Wer sein Rad auch gegen einfachen Diebstahl schützen möchte, kann dies häufig über einen Zusatzbaustein in der Hausratversicherung tun – gegen einen entsprechenden Aufpreis. Bei vielen Premiumtarifen ist dieser Schutz oft sogar inklusive. „Mittlerweile bieten zahlreiche Versicherer einen Rund-um-die-Uhr-Schutz an. Das bedeutet: Auch in den Nachtstunden ist das Fahrrad versichert, sofern es mit einem Schloss an einem festen Gegenstand gesichert war – etwa an einem Laternenpfahl oder Fahrradständer“, sagt man. Vor dem Start in den Urlaub empfiehlt es sich, bei der eigenen Versicherung die genauen Konditionen zu erfragen und sich den Schutzumfang schriftlich bestätigen zu lassen. Geht die Radtour über die Landesgrenzen hinaus, lohnt sich ein Blick in die Versicherungsunterlagen: Gilt der Schutz auch im Ausland? Am besten klären Reisende auch das rechtzeitig mit ihrem Versicherer ab. Ebenso wichtig ist es, sich vorab über die Verkehrsregeln im Zielland zu informieren. Haus- und Grundstückseigentümer sowie in manchen Fällen auch Mieter sind gesetzlich verpflichtet, diese Flächen sicher für Passanten zu halten. Wer diese Verkehrssicherungspflicht vernachlässigt, haftet für Schäden, die durch Unfälle auf nicht geräumten oder gestreuten Wegen entstehen. Eine Privathaftpflichtversicherung bietet in solchen Fällen finanziellen Schutz und wehrt unberechtigte Forderungen ab“, sagt der Bund der Versicherten e. V. (BdV). Primär sind Hauseigentümer für den Winterdienst verantwortlich. Diese Pflicht kann jedoch durch eine klare Vereinbarung im Mietvertrag auf Mieter übertragen werden. Kommt eine Person auf glatten Wegen zu Schaden, müssen Eigentümer und Mieter unter Umständen haften, wenn sie den Winterdienst vernachlässigt haben. „Das kann beispielsweise der Fall sein, wenn es geschneit hat, während ein Eigentümer im Büro war und in dieser Zeit ein Passant auf einem nicht geräumten Gehweg vor dem Grundstück ausgerutscht ist“, sagt man. Sind Eigentümer beziehungsweise Mieter schadensersatzpflichtig, kann das teuer werden, denn sie haften mit Vermögen und Einkünften bis hin zur Pfändungsgrenze. Zur Absicherung der finanziellen Folgen dient in einem solchen Fall die Privathaftpflichtversicherung. Sie begleicht berechtigte Ansprüche und wehrt zu Unrecht erhobene Schadensersatzforderungen ab – sogar vor Gericht.   Hauseigentümer, die ihre Immobilie nicht selbst bewohnen, sollten zudem prüfen, ob sie eine Haus- und Grundbesitzerhaftpflichtversicherung benötigen. Diese deckt die Haftung ab, wenn Dritte beispielsweise auf einem nicht ordnungsgemäß geräumten Gehweg ausrutschen und sich verletzen. Zusätzlich empfiehlt der BdV, sich gegen Schäden abzusichern, die durch Schnee am Gebäude entstehen können. „Eine Wohngebäudeversicherung sollte idealerweise um eine Elementarschadenversicherung erweitert werden, um Schäden durch Schneedruck oder andere Naturereignisse abzudecken“.  Die Räum- und Streupflichten können regional unterschiedlich geregelt sein. In welchen Zeitfenstern und wie oft geräumt und gestreut werden muss, legen Städte und Gemeinden in ihren Ortssatzungen fest – und das kann ganz unterschiedlich ausfallen. Draußen wird es früher dunkel – drinnen sorgen Kerzen, Lichterketten und Co. für gemütliches Licht. Doch was Behaglichkeit schafft, kann schnell gefährlich werden. „Wenn Weihnachtsdekoration Feuer fängt, ist keineswegs sicher, dass die Versicherung den Schaden vollständig ersetzt. Kerzen oder andere offene Flammen sollten daher niemals unbeaufsichtigt bleiben“, sagt man beim Bund der Versicherten e. V. (BdV). Um im Ernstfall finanziell geschützt zu sein, zählen die Privathaftpflicht-, die Wohngebäude- und bei hochwertiger Einrichtung auch die Hausratversicherung zu den wichtigsten Absicherungen. Gerät der Weihnachtsbaum in Brand und verursacht zusätzlich Schäden in der Nachbarwohnung, springt die Privathaftpflichtversicherung ein – vorausgesetzt, der Schaden wurde etwa durch Fahrlässigkeit ausgelöst. Die empfohlene Deckungssumme liegt bei mindestens 15 Millionen Euro pauschal für Sach-, Personen- und Vermögensschäden. Wer auf diesen Versicherungsschutz verzichtet, riskiert im Schadenfall hohe Zahlungsverpflichtungen, da man mit dem eigenen Einkommen und Vermögen haftet. Für Mieter spielt die Privathaftpflichtversicherung eine zentrale Rolle – insbesondere, wenn Mietsachen durch einen solchen Brand beschädigt werden. Dazu zählen fest verbaute Bestandteile wie Böden, Einbauküchen oder Badewannen. „Mieterinnen und Mieter sollten prüfen, ob ihre Privathaftpflichtversicherung Mietsachschäden in ausreichender Höhe abdeckt – auch an Gebäuden, Grundstücken und Wohnräumen“, sagt der BdV. Für Eigentümer ist eine Wohngebäudeversicherung unverzichtbar, da sie die Kosten für Reparatur oder Wiederaufbau nach Feuer- oder Löschwasserschäden am Gebäude übernimmt. Das gilt beispielsweise für Türen, Wände oder fest verklebte Parkettböden. Die Hausratversicherung kommt für Schäden durch Feuer oder Löschwasser auf, die am beweglichen Inventar entstehen – also beispielsweise an Möbeln, Kleidung oder auch Geschenken. Eine solche Police ist sinnvoll, wenn der Hausrat nicht ohne Weiteres aus eigenen Mitteln ersetzt werden könnte, ohne den Lebensstandard zu gefährden. Da die meisten KFZ-Verträge zum 31.12. eines Jahres kündbar sind, ist es sinnvoll, rechtzeitig einen Blick darauf zu werfen. Denn auch in diesem Jahr sagt die Prognose: Die Prämien in der Kfz-Versicherung werden erneut steigen. Somit werden viele Verbraucher im kommenden Jahr mehr Geld für ihre Kfz-Versicherung in die Hand nehmen müssen. Dennoch sollten sie nicht übereilt ihren Vertrag kündigen, um in einen günstigeren Tarif zu wechseln. Der Bund der Versicherten e. V. (BdV) sagt: „In der Kfz-Versicherung ist Geiz nicht immer geil, der günstigere Tarif ist oft nicht die bessere Alternative. Was man an der Prämie spart, zahlt man im Schadenfall eventuell doppelt und dreifach drauf, wenn die Leistungen des Billigtarifs nicht ausreichend sind.“ Bei der Suche nach einer Kfz-Versicherung sollte daher immer die Leistungsstärke im Vordergrund stehen und nicht der Preis. Zudem ist es nicht immer nötig, den Tarif zu wechseln, um an der Prämie zu sparen. Eventuell lohnt sich beispielsweise der Wechsel von der oftmals teureren Voll- in die Teilkaskoversicherung. Doch Vorsicht: Hat man eine gute Schadenfreiheitsklasse, kann die Vollkaskoversicherung sogar günstiger sein als der Teilkaskoschutz. Wer sparen will, sollte zudem prüfen, ob sich andere Parameter geändert haben, die Einfluss auf die Prämie haben: Hat sich der Kreis der Fahrer verkleinert? Ist die Jahreskilometerlaufleistung geringer geworden? Steht das Auto nachts mittlerweile in einer Garage statt an der öffentlichen Straße? Das alles kann die Prämie verringern. Gleiches gilt für eine Erhöhung des Selbstbehalts. Ist man mit dem bisherigen Versicherer zufrieden, kann es sich auch lohnen, direkt bei ihm nach einem besseren Angebot zu fragen. „Haken Sie bei Ihrer Kfz-Versicherung nach, ob sie durch die Umstellung auf einen aktuellen Tarif sparen können, ohne dass sich die Leistungen verschlechtern“, empfiehlt der BdV. Auch wer bereits einen interessanten Tarif bei einer anderen Versicherung entdeckt hat, sollte den Fokus auf die Leistungen legen. Die Tarife haben teilweise sehr unterschiedliche Leistungsniveaus. Verbraucher sollten daher unbedingt ihren alten Vertrag mit dem neuen Angebot vergleichen. „Leistet beispielsweise der neue – vermeintlich günstigere – Kaskoversicherer nicht beim Zusammenstoß mit Tieren aller Art und ein fremder Hund rennt vor das Fahrzeug und verursacht einen Schaden, müsste die Reparatur aus eigener Tasche gezahlt werden. (BdV) gibt Tipps zum richtigen Versicherungsschutz und Verhalten    Im Herbst steigt das Unfallrisiko durch vermehrten Wildwechsel - insbesondere in den Morgenstunden und in der Dämmerung. Zwar verursachen die meisten Wildunfälle nur Blechschäden, doch auch diese können teuer werden. Vor den Folgekosten schützt die richtige Versicherung. „Wenn man lediglich eine Kfz-Haftpflichtversicherung abgeschlossen hat, muss man nach einem Wildunfall die Schäden am eigenen Auto selbst zahlen“, sagt man beim Bund der Versicherten e. V. (BdV). Schäden durch Wildunfälle werden von der Kaskoversicherung übernommen – sofern diese vorhanden ist. Aber auch hier kommt es aufs Kleingedruckte an. Mehr als 280.000 Wildunfälle mit einer durchschnittlichen Schadenhöhe von 3.850 Euro zählten die deutschen Kfz-Versicherer allein im Jahr 2023 – laut Gesamtverband der Deutschen Versicherungswirtschaft e.V. (GDV). In der Teil- und in der Vollkaskoversicherung ist ein Zusammenstoß mit Haarwild versichert. Zum Haarwild zählen unter anderem Füchse, Hasen, Hirsche und Rehe sowie Wildschweine. „Die Kaskoversicherung übernimmt diese Schäden. Aber nicht alle Unfälle mit Tieren sind automatisch mitversichert“, so der BdV. Denn der Kasko-Versicherungsschutz hat Lücken: So sind beispielsweise Unfälle mit Nutz- und Haustieren sowie Kollisionen mit Federwild, Wölfen oder Waschbären nicht immer abgedeckt. „Solche Schäden werden nur übernommen, wenn die Bedingungen die sogenannte erweiterte Wildschadenklausel enthalten, die ausdrücklich einen Zusammenstoß mit Tieren jeder Art einschließt“, sagt man beim Bund der Versicherten e. V. Gut zu wissen: In der Teilkaskoversicherung hat ein Wildunfall keine negativen Auswirkungen auf den Schadenfreiheitsrabatt. In der Vollkaskoversicherung müssen betroffene Versicherte hingegen mit einer Rückstufung der Schadenfreiheitsklasse rechnen. Auch für die anschließende Schadenregulierung ist es wichtig, sich schon am Unfallort korrekt zu verhalten. Zunächst sollte die Unfallstelle abgesichert und die Polizei benachrichtigt werden. Das angefahrene Tier sollte man auf keinen Fall anfassen oder von der Unfallstelle entfernen, da sonst eine Anzeige wegen Wilderei droht. Betroffene sollten am Unfallort oder in sicherer Entfernung auf das Eintreffen der Polizei oder der zuständigen Wildaufsicht warten. Die aktuellen Wirtschaftsnachrichten mit Michael Weyland  Thema heute:     Einschränkung des Widerrufsrechts: Ausgehöhlte Widerrufsmöglichkeit beschneidet Verbraucherrechte    Die aktuelle Änderung des Verbrauchervertrags- und Versicherungsvertragsrechts schränkt das Widerrufsrecht ein und benachteiligt Verbraucherinnen und Verbraucher. Das moniert der Hamburger Verbraucherschutzverein Bund der Versicherten e. V. (BdV). Künftig soll das Widerrufsrecht nach spätestens zwölf Monaten und 14 Tagen enden – bei Lebensversicherungen nach 24 Monaten und 30 Tagen, selbst wenn grundlegende Informationen des Unternehmens zum Vertrag falsch sind oder fehlen. Bisher wurden die Versicherer in solchen Fällen mit empfindlichen Konsequenzen zur Einhaltung ihrer Informationspflichten angehalten.  Denn solange die Versicherten nicht richtig informiert waren, begann die Widerrufsfrist nicht zu laufen. Sie konnten den Vertrag mit einem Widerruf auch Jahre später ohne Kostennachteile auflösen. Da insbesondere die Auflösung eines Lebensversicherungsvertrages erhebliche Kostennachteile bedeutet, ist das eine attraktive Vertragsoption. Mit einer Nachbelehrung konnte der Versicherer indes sein Versäumnis jederzeit nachholen und die Frist von 30 Tagen in Gang setzen. Doch die rechtssichere Möglichkeit wählte in der Vergangenheit kaum ein Versicherer. Stattdessen wehrten die Unternehmen die Widerrufsrechte ihrer Kunden mit juristischen Mitteln ab. Ihre häufigsten Argumente: der Informationsfehler ist nebensächlich und das Verhalten der Versicherungskunden treuwidrig. In der Folge kam es zu Massenverfahren vor den schnell überlasteten Gerichten und zu einer bedenklich unübersichtlichen Rechtsprechung. „Die bisherige Regelung zum Widerrufsrecht war einfach und konsequent. Jetzt zieht der Gesetzgeber weichgekocht vom ewigen Lamentieren der Versicherer und der Justiz dem Verbraucherschutz den Stecker. Künftig bleiben selbst gravierende Verstöße gegen Informationspflichten nahezu folgenlos. Stellt ein Verbraucher zu spät fest, dass Angaben seines Versicherers nicht stimmen, kann er nur noch mit hohen Verlusten aus einem mängelbelasteten Lebensversicherungsvertrag aussteigen“, sagt man beim BdV-Vorstand. Hinzu kommt, dass es den Verbrauchern deutlich schwerer gemacht worden ist, ihre Widerrufsrechte bei Versicherungsverträgen zu verstehen. Denn der Gesetzgeber hat das Muster für eine Widerrufsbelehrung, das die Versicherer als vermeintlich rechtssichere Variante verwenden sollen, mittlerweile auf mehr als 2.500 Wörter anwachsen lassen.
