Paul Rieckhoff sounded the alarm on Pete Hegseth before he was confirmed, and everything he warned about is now playing out in real time. The acting secretary of culture war is purging leaders, driving out women and Democrats, extending deployments without honor, and turning the U.S. military into a loyalty test for MAGA. The USS Lincoln has been stranded at sea for nine months. Two more destroyers aren't coming home. Families are being gutted. Recruiting and retention are cratering. And when the Army Chief of Staff wanted to follow protocol on an unauthorized helicopter flyby of Kid Rock's Tennessee estate, he was fired without explanation. In this Media Blitz episode, Paul joins Jacob Soboroff on MS Now for a no-BS breakdown of what Hegseth's culture war is doing to national security from the inside out. He connects the reporting from PRIA and the Washington Post to a bigger structural rot: a military built on trust that no longer trusts its leadership, a chain of command being reshaped around fealty instead of competence, and a generation of service academy graduates so morally alienated they're filing as conscientious objectors. In this episode of the Explaining History Podcast, we are joined by James Loeffler, the Felix Posen Professor of Modern Jewish History at Johns Hopkins University, to discuss his new book, An Exceptional Hatred: Antisemitism and the Fight Over Free Speech in Modern America. The book traces a century of struggle over antisemitism and free speech in the United States, from the violent anti-Jewish riots of the 1940s to the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville in 2017, and the ferocious campus debates over Israel-Palestine today. Loeffler argues that antisemitism has always been a uniquely contested category in American life – weaponised by both the right and the left, and often used to obscure rather than clarify the fight against hate.We explore the surprising rise of antisemitic attitudes in America after World War II and the Holocaust, the complex relationship between anti-communism and antisemitism in the 1950s, and the long history of Jews being viewed as "not quite white" – a racial ambiguity that has made them a persistent target of conspiracy theories. The conversation also examines the politicisation of antisemitism. Today, conservatives often use the accusation of antisemitism as a weapon against the left, while some on the left dismiss legitimate concerns about antisemitism as a smokescreen for defending Israel. Loeffler argues that this instrumentalisation of hatred does a disservice to the victims of real antisemitism and creates a toxic environment where genuine debate is impossible.Topics covered:The 2017 Charlottesville rally and its significanceThe history of antisemitic violence in post-WWII AmericaThe "Judeo-Bolshevik" conspiracy theoryJews, whiteness, and racial ambiguityThe politicisation of antisemitismFree speech, hate speech, and the campus debatesThe Israel-Palestine conflict and its impact on American JewsJames Loeffler's An Exceptional Hatred is available from all good bookshops. Patrick Clancy remarried in April 2026 — Dr. Rachel Danis, a move to New York, a new life. That single fact became proof of guilt for both sides of the Lindsay Clancy divide. The men say a real father wouldn't move on. The women say a fast remarriage proves he never loved Lindsay. Neither interpretation comes from evidence. Both come from expectation.Psychotherapist Shavaun Scott joins Tony Brueski to explain why grief that doesn't look right to strangers automatically becomes suspicious — and what that reveals about the people judging it rather than the person living it.This conversation covers the full gender split driving the most divided trial in the country. Men on X are demanding punishment without engaging with the psychosis defense, the medication history, or any of the testimony. Women on Threads and Instagram have constructed an alternate reality in which Patrick is a narcissist who drove Lindsay insane. Both sides agree on one thing — they're the reasonable ones.Shavaun identifies what each side is actually fighting about. A significant number of the women defending Lindsay are narcissistic-abuse survivors who've mapped their own experience onto Patrick. The men want a target for rage that has nothing to do with Cora, Dawson, or Callan. Both are performing justice. Neither is pursuing it.Part 2 of three with Shavaun Scott on the psychology of the Lindsay Clancy culture war.Tony Brueski and psychotherapist Shavaun Scott, author of Nightbird, discuss why the fight over Lindsay Clancy has nothing to do with Lindsay Clancy.Listen Anywhere You Get Podcasts: https://pod.link/1655749292Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? (incoming msgs only - I can't reply) Roshan Bliss has spent his career working the space between people who disagree — first as a mediator, then as a public deliberation practitioner, and now as the architect of one of the more ambitious bridging projects out there: a reality TV show called A House Divided.Roshan and Wilk dig into the idea of “many-to-many” conflict — why the tools that help two neighbors resolve a dispute fall short when it's millions of people who disagree — and why defining the problem has to come before anyone starts arguing about the solution. Then they get into the show itself: three groups, one from the left, right, and center, locked in a house for seven days, working through a real cultural flashpoint from a real American community — think Big Brother meets jury duty, built entirely around deliberation instead of drama. It's a conversation about taking the tools of dialogue and deliberation out of the conference room and putting them somewhere people will actually watch — and why that might be exactly what's needed to compete for attention in a media landscape built on outrage. We've forgotten what it feels like to have a real conversation. The week of August 10th, join AllSides for a live conversation about the American Dream — how we're thinking about it and navigating the challenges.Your insights will be anonymized and included in a report to help leaders better understand how people see this issue.Sign up today at allsides.com/derate-hate The world is a better place if we are better people. Meanwhile, tensions with Iran are reaching a critical point as negotiations falter and uncertainty surrounding the Strait of Hormuz seems to be in Iran's hands, marking a potential win for the regime. On today’s Sentinel Report, guest host Andrew Muller breaks down those stories and more—including Tucker Carlson’s nearly two-hour monologue that some are interpreting as a preview of a potential 2028 political platform, President Trump’s push against birth tourism, and the SPLC's plea for dismissal of their fraud case, which was gloriously shot down. BAN BALACLAVAS! SO WHAT ABOUT BURKHAS & VEILS?  #JonGaunt #JonGauntTV #BanBalaclavas #Burkha #Veil #Nottingham #UKPolitics  At last, a council appears to be talking some common sense about people covering their faces in our city centres.  Nottingham is considering a ban on balaclavas after concerns were raised during a public consultation on measures designed to make the city safer. Council leader Neghat Khan has highlighted the sight of people riding around on e-bikes wearing balaclavas even in scorching summer temperatures and says people have a right to feel safe in their own city.  I AGREE. If you're riding around a city centre in 32-degree heat with a balaclava covering your identity, why shouldn't the police and the public be suspicious? But here's the question I want YOU to debate with me LIVE: If we're going to ban balaclavas in the interests of public safety, why shouldn't the same rule apply to ALL face coverings in public places — including the niqab, burkha or other veils that conceal a person's identity?  This isn't about attacking anybody's religion. It's about asking whether there should be ONE RULE FOR EVERYONE when it comes to identifying people in public spaces. If the argument is that covering your face can make other people feel unsafe, hinder identification or make policing more difficult, surely we have to be prepared to debate where the line should be drawn. Should religious exemptions exist?  Should people be required to uncover their faces only in certain places or when requested by police? Or should Britain simply say that, apart from genuine medical, occupational or safety reasons, faces should remain visible in public? And there's a bigger question. WHY HAVE BALACLAVAS BECOME SO NORMAL? Masked riders on e-bikes. Shoplifting gangs. Street robbery. Phones being snatched. Ordinary people intimidated in their own town and city centres. Have we tolerated this for far too long? Nottingham says it wants to become the safest city in the country. GOOD. Let's see other councils show the same ambition. But let's have an honest debate and let's not be frightened of difficult questions.

Anthony Fauci is in very hot water as the Senate moves to hold him in contempt and Sen. Rand Paul says criminal referrals have been hand-delivered to the Justice Department. Will the move acquit Dr. Fauci or finally nail him? Meanwhile, tensions with Iran are reaching a critical point as negotiations falter and uncertainty surrounding the Strait of Hormuz seems to be in Iran's hands, marking a potential win for the regime. On today’s Sentinel Report, guest host Andrew Muller breaks down those stories and more—including Tucker Carlson’s nearly two-hour monologue that some are interpreting as a preview of a potential 2028 political platform, President Trump’s push against birth tourism, and the SPLC's plea for dismissal of their fraud case, which was gloriously shot down. PLUS: Investigative writer and podcaster Mel K digs into the history of globalism and the financial, intelligence, and institutional architecture that emerged in the aftermath of World War II—and how those institutions continue to shape American politics and the world today. Mel, the author of the new book, Infiltration Instead of Invasion: America Betrayed (1944–1954), also shares what President Trump has done to fight back and what you can do locally. Then, Daniella Pentsak, host of Culturama, joins the show to discuss The Odyssey, Hollywood, and the battle over Western culture. Is the culture war still worth fighting? We answer. Finally, Alex Newman talks with an inspirational figure, Donna O'Daniel, who studied birds for the government and now is fighting for liberty while sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Today on Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson, I'm addressing the divorcee community and I'm going straight to the Bible. Why does God say He hates divorce? What does Scripture actually teach about marriage, covenant, divorce, and the responsibilities of husbands and wives? And why have divorce rates become so incredibly high, particularly as wives increasingly initiate divorce over reasons that, from a biblical perspective, are trivial, selfish, or completely unbiblical? This is not a message designed to just shame people who have experienced divorce. It is a challenge to the culture that has normalized abandoning marriage whenever things become difficult, inconvenient, or uncomfortable. We need to be willing to distinguish between legitimate biblical grounds for divorce and the endless list of modern excuses we've created to justify walking away from a sacred covenant. And that's not all we're discussing.I'm also talking about Donald Trump's continued failures, the gap between political promises and political reality, and why Americans should be questioning the decisions being made in our name.Plus, we're talking about the Iran War and why I believe this conflict is unnecessary and why Americans should be asking whether another foreign war actually serves the interests of the United States.Marriage. Divorce. Biblical truth. Trump. Iran. War. Political accountability.I'm saying what I believe needs to be said, even when it isn't popular (as usual).--https://www.youversion.com/bible-app

On this episode of The Karol Markowicz Show, Karol sits down with National Review staff writer Jeffrey Blehar for a wide-ranging conversation about politics, music, media, and the future of American culture. Blehar shares his unconventional path from practicing law to political commentary, explains why authenticity matters more than partisan loyalty, and discusses the philosophy that guides his writing. The conversation also explores Blehar's popular Political Beats podcast, where political personalities leave politics behind to discuss their favorite music. Together, Karol and Jeff examine whether it's possible to separate artists from their political beliefs and why music can transcend ideology. Finally, Blehar offers his predictions for America's future, warning about increasing political polarization, the erosion of reading and literacy, and a culture increasingly driven by podcasts, video, and social media instead of books. He closes with a reminder not to make politics your religion—a lesson he believes is essential for preserving perspective in today's polarized world.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

COP KILLERS FREED... BURNHAM GOES ON HOLIDAY? WHAT'S HAPPENING TO UK?  #JonGaunt #KevinHurley #AndyBurnham #NigelFarage #ReformUK #PCAndrewHarper #Police #PrisonCrisis  Two of the men convicted over the killing of PC Andrew Harper are being released early. Whatever your politics, many people will ask whether that can possibly be right.  Yes, Britain's prisons are under enormous pressure. Yes, there is a genuine capacity crisis. But surely there has to be a line. If those responsible for the death of a young police officer are being released early, what message does that send to every serving police officer putting their life on the line today?  Joining me LIVE is former Metropolitan Police Commander and former Police & Crime Commissioner Kevin Hurley.  We'll ask: • Has Britain's justice system completely lost the confidence of the public? • Is the prison crisis now out of control? • Are politicians putting ideology ahead of public safety?  We'll also discuss Andy Burnham's decision to head off on holiday after just two weeks in office. Is now really the right time? Britain is facing a prison crisis, around 2,000 illegal migrants have reportedly crossed the Channel during his first fortnight in office, and Louise Haigh remains in government despite her previous conviction for phone fraud. Should the Prime Minister be taking a break—or should he be staying in Westminster to get a grip? Kevin Hurley will also explain why he believes Nigel Farage's plans to tackle illegal immigration deserve serious consideration. Can the boats be stopped? Should Britain become much tougher on illegal immigration and the criminal gangs making millions from people trafficking?  Join the debate. As always, I want your views.

FARAGE'S WAR ON SMALL BOATS: Navy in the Channel NOW?  #JonGaunt #JonGauntTV #NigelFarage #ReformUK #SmallBoats #IllegalImmigration #RoyalNavy #RoyalMarines  Is FARAGE right? Put the ROYAL NAVY in the Channel to STOP the Small Boats INVASION?  If you've watched Jon Gaunt TV over the past few months, you'll know today's debate won't come as any surprise. I've repeatedly argued that Britain has to stop talking tough and start acting tough. I've said for months that if we are serious about ending the small boats crisis, we should use the Royal Navy to defend our borders, return illegal migrants to France, and destroy the business model of the people smugglers.  Today, Nigel Farage and Reform UK have put forward proposals that take the debate firmly in that direction. Following Reform's press conference, we're asking whether Britain should adopt a far tougher approach to illegal Channel crossings. Has Spain shown that determined border enforcement can work? Should Britain follow suit? And if the European Convention on Human Rights stands in the way of the policies some people want, should we leave the ECHR?  For years we've been promised that the boats would stop. Instead, they've kept coming. Successive governments have promised to "smash the gangs," but many people believe the crossings continue because Britain remains an attractive destination and the deterrent simply isn't there.  So is Farage right? Should the Royal Navy and Royal Marines be deployed in the Channel? Should illegal migrants be returned to France ? Has Spain shown Britain what decisive border enforcement looks like? Or would these proposals create more problems than they solve?  This isn't just another political row. It's about sovereignty, national security, the rule of law and whether Britain still has the determination to control its own borders. Join Jon Gaunt  This is going to be a lively debate.

Much scholarship has sought to decode the polarization of American culture. Eric O Silva's analysis of the public discourse on contested realities (immigration, vaccines, electric vehicles, transgender youth medicine, campus protests of Israel, the regulation of AR-15s, and race and police brutality) reveals that Americans are not governed by coherent, diametrically opposed worldviews. U.S. culture is more fractured than dominant narratives of a polarized society would suggest. Moreover, these cultural disputes result in the generation of materials for constructing identities. Disagreement over how to define reality inevitably leads to a contest over the authority and moral worthiness of the individuals involved in the dispute. Contested Realities and Identity Destigmatization: Identity Construction in the Culture Wars analyzes how participants in public discourse stigmatize but also destigmatize their adversaries. This study not only demonstrates that there are people who are seeking to "turn down the temperature" in public discourse but the generic processes by which they do so. Michael O. Johnston is Associate Professor of Sociology at William Penn University. His research explores symbolic interaction, leisure, meaning, place, community, and sociology of everyday life. After a quick mic swap and reset, they push through and dive into behind the scenes stories and culture war rants. They recount ghosting by a Satanic Temple rep who enthusiastically agreed to an interview, then vanished after presumably hearing their provocative, right wing style. They also revisit a infamous, now deleted interview with Blondie's original bassist Gary Valentine, who blew up over background noise (a squawking bird), told Michael not to “calm down,” and got hung up on mid-rant; the episode was reportedly pulled from YouTube within about 20 30 minutes. The conversation drifts into frank talk about past drug use, “sex, drugs and rock and roll,” and jokes about Satanism vs. Christianity, with Myke dubbed a “satanic Christian.” Current affairs segments include heavy criticism of Dr. Fauci for repeatedly pleading the Fifth in a Senate hearing, and a heated “invasion” framing of mass migrant crossings from Morocco into Spain's Ceuta enclave, with tens of thousands arriving in a 24 hour window and Spanish authorities scrambling to respond.Daniel also takes a stand defending trans men, arguing they deserve respect and basic dignity and pushing back against dehumanizing rhetoric. The episode closes in the hosts' usual late night style: combative, conspiratorial, and unapologetically provocative.
