Until recently, universities were widely seen as places for asking questions, debating ideas and accessing upward mobility. Now, they're just as likely to be seen as battlegrounds in the culture wars. As public trust eroded and political scrutiny intensified, a bigger question emerged: When did this shift happen? And more importantly, can it be repaired?Host Megan McArdle is joined by Daniel Diermeier, chancellor of Vanderbilt University. He is trying to answer those questions not just in theory but in practice. Drawing on his experience leading a university, Diermeier shares where he thinks universities have gone off course, what needs to change and what's still worth protecting — and whether they can once again become places where more people feel they belong.Subscribe to The Washington Post here.
What is Starmer hiding about Mandelson? Jon Gaunt LIVE #JonGaunt #JonGauntTV #LIVE #KeirStarmer #PeterMandelson #PMQs #KemiBadenoch #JeffreyEpstein #UKPolitics Tonight, we ask the question Keir Starmer would not answer in the House of Commons: what is he hiding about Peter Mandelson? At Prime Minister's Questions today, Kemi Badenoch put a simple, direct question to him again and again. Not once did he give a straight answer. Not once. Instead, we got diversion, dissembling and one of the weakest performances of Starmer's premiership. Clearly, he would not say whether he had spoken to Mandelson and questioned him about his post-conviction contact with paedophile Epstein. Why not? And why is he refusing simply"Instead of answering, he tried to switch the argument on to Conservative comments about Muslims praying in Trafalgar Square — a classic dead cat tactic from a Prime Minister who plainly did not want to address Mandelson, to fess up to it? This was one of Starmer's worst performances at PMQs. His diversions and dissembling did not help him; if anything, they only strengthened the impression that he is hiding something. The Speaker's performance was disgraceful too. He should have insisted that Starmer answer the question, because the British public have every right to know what is going on and why? Are Starmer's immigration and energy policies killing Britain? #Starmer #KeirStarmer #Trump #DonaldTrump #UKPolitics #Immigration #EnergyCrisis #NorthSeaOil #JonGaunt #JonGauntTV Donald Trump has launched a blistering attack on Keir Starmer from the White House — and it's explosive. Trump warns that Britain (and even Europe) could be finished if Starmer continues with his current immigration and energy policies. He simply cannot understand why the UK is refusing to drill for oil in the North Sea while Norway pushes ahead and cashes in. But it doesn't stop there… Trump also takes aim at the BBC, slams what he calls Britain's immigration failures, and even invokes Winston Churchill — using the iconic bust in the White House to hammer home his point about leadership. So here's the big question: Is Trump actually more in touch with the British public than Starmer? Jon Gaunt gives his no-nonsense take — and it's not for the faint-hearted.
Starmer Get a Backbone or Get Out of Number 10! #KeirStarmer #StarmerSpeech #UKPolitics #JonGaunt #IranConflict #UKForeignPolicy #NATO #Trump "Did we really need another speech today from Keir Starmer about a war he still refuses to properly back? No. What Britain needs right now is a Prime Minister with a backbone. What we've got instead is a man playing the hokey-cokey with war — half in, half out. First he refuses permission for US aircraft to use British bases. Then he says they can… but only if it's for 'defence'. What on earth does that even mean? Either you stand with your allies or you don't. And right now the so-called special relationship looks like it's been badly damaged. The truth is Labour is still haunted by the ghost of Tony Blair and the Iraq War. They're so scared of being accused of backing another 'illegal war' that they'd rather sit on their hands. Meanwhile tensions are rising around the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important shipping lanes on the planet. British tankers go through there every day. Yet Starmer refuses to send British ships to protect them. Instead we get a lecture about subsidising fuel bills. Fuel bills? That's not leadership. That's ducking the real problem. And then this weekend he allows yet another anti-British demonstration to take place in London. Yet he has the nerve to stand there today and say he is 'always standing up for the British people'. Standing up? Don't make me laugh. Jon Gaunt says the truth is this: Starmer isn't standing up for Britain — he's bending the knee to our enemies abroad and the extremists at home. And if you can't lead this country when the pressure is on… maybe it's time to get out of Number 10." #KeirStarmer #StarmerSpeech #UKPolitics #JonGaunt #IranConflict #UKForeignPolicy #NATO #BritishPolitics #StarmerLeadership #UKNews #PoliticalCommentary #Number10 #UKGovernment Keir Starmer, Starmer speech, UK politics, Jon Gaunt, Iran conflict, UK foreign policy, NATO, British politics, Starmer leadership, UK news, political commentary, Number 10, UK government This is political blogging and hard-hitting social commentary from Triple Sony Gold Award-winning talk radio legend, Jon Gaunt — former host on BBC, Talk Radio, and Sky News. Before joining Notre Dame, he was an associate professor of religion at Boston University, where he also served as the NEH Distinguished Teaching Professor and founded the Health Humanities Project. In this conversation, Anthony and I discussed the role of artists in the culture wars of the 80s and 90s and the ongoing relevance of material religion in contemporary art. We also shared thoughts on how artists today continue to engage with religious themes, challenge traditional narratives, and address issues of race, sexuality, and power through their work.
War reveals who people are—the best of us and the worst of us. In this special episode, Independent Americans host Paul Rieckhoff takes you inside his fiery appearance on MSNBC's Deadline White House with Nicolle Wallace, sounding the alarm about Trump's reckless march toward war with Iran, the extremism driving today's culture wars, and the urgent need for real leadership and accountability. Fresh off hits on NewsNation and Stephen Colbert, he explains why this could actually be one of the most unifying moments in recent American history—even as the drumbeats of war grow louder in the Middle East and chaos spreads at home, with opposition to a new war in Iran rising from NFL legends like Ray Lewis and Ed Reed to conservatives like Newt Gingrich and unlikely critics like Megyn Kelly and Steve Bannon. Rieckhoff digs into how Trump and his allies have crossed into every part of American culture—sports, entertainment, even Spongebob—and why the backlash matters, from the growing popularity of opposing ICE to a broad public rejection of another Middle East war and the central role of independents—now roughly 45% of the country—in defending core American values. He goes deep on the stakes for veterans and military families, including alarming new moves by the VA to put homeless veterans under guardianship and a broader effort to turn the Pentagon into the tip of the spear for an extreme culture war—from banning books and rolling back women's rights to pushing Christian nationalism—calling it the most dangerous course for America's future and a test for politicians, retired generals, civic leaders, and every independent American -WATCH full video of this episode here. -Learn more about Paul's work to elect a new generation of independent leaders with Independent Veterans of America. -Learn more about American Veterans for Ukraine here. -Learn more about The Headstrong Project for Veterans, Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), and Department of Veterans Affairs resources in your area. Welcome to the Global News Update (GNU) from The Ezra Foundation with Dr. Fretwell — bringing cultural commentary from a biblical perspective. In this February episode we discuss: • The escalating Iran–Israel conflict and US military operations against Iranian targets • Iranian reactions to the fall of an oppressive regime and the silence of Western activists • What Ezekiel 38 and Jeremiah 49 say about Persia and God's purposes in history • The rapid growth of the underground church in Iran • A political shock in the UK as the Green Party wins a historic by-election • Culture wars in Britain, including protests targeting Churchill and Gail's bakery • How Christians should respond to global chaos — remembering the spiritual revival that transformed England during the Great Awakening
We dig into the controversy surrounding Timothée Chalamet’s comments about opera and ballet — what he said, why it landed the way it did, and whether the backlash is warranted or overblown. Then we turn to the screen: we review the long-awaited new season of Scrubs and ask whether the beloved comedy still has the heart and the humour that made it a classic. Plus, we review The President’s Cake, and we take a look at Pixar’s latest, Hoppers — does it mark a return to form for the studio, or is it another swing and a miss? You can watch Scrubs on Disney+. The President’s Cake is showing at selected GSC locations. And Hoppers opens in Malaysian cinemas on Wednesday, March 18. Original Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uinXJHtjms Joseph Brothers sat down with Dr. E. Michael Jones, editor of Culture Wars magazine, for a discussion on the rapidly developing war with Iran and its wider implications. We talked not only about the immediate military situation, but also about how this conflict could reshape American politics, influence global power dynamics, and why the narrative surrounding the war is so fiercely contested. We also addressed the question of influence networks—particularly those connected to Israel and its supporters in the West—and how they affect policy, media narratives, and public opinion in the United States. Finally, we turned to the deeper moral and spiritual questions facing Catholics: how the Church's teaching on war, truth, and political authority should guide the faithful in a time of propaganda, polarization, and escalating conflict. Mandelson, Epstein & A £75K Exit Deal – What Was Starmer Thinking? #JonGaunt #JonGauntTV #Starmer #PeterMandelson #Epstein #UKPolitics#Live Tonight at 6pm Jon Gaunt goes LIVE on YouTube to dissect the latest revelations surrounding Peter Mandelson and the continuing fallout from the Epstein scandal. The big question is simple: why on earth did Keir Starmer appoint Mandelson as UK Ambassador to the United States when the warning signs were already flashing red? Mandelson's past links to Jeffrey Epstein were hardly a secret. We already knew he had maintained contact with Epstein even after Epstein had been convicted, something that should have set alarm bells ringing in any Prime Minister's office. Yet despite those risks, Starmer pushed ahead with the appointment anyway. Now the story gets even murkier. When Mandelson was eventually removed from the role, He reportedly demanded a staggering £547,000 payout. In the end he walked away with £75,000 – not a bad result for a controversy that should arguably never have happened in the first place. Nice work if you can get it. For Jon Gaunt, this whole sorry saga speaks to a much bigger problem: Keir Starmer's chronic lack of judgement. If a Prime Minister cannot properly assess the reputational risks of appointing someone with such well-known associations, what does that say about their ability to lead the country? Tonight Jon asks the tough questions the establishment would rather avoid.
Thatcher's Falklands Fleet to Starmer's Britain — Watching HMS Dragon Sail #JonGaunt #JonGauntTV #UKPolitics #HMSDragon #RoyalNavy #FalklandsWar #MargaretThatcher #KeirStarmer THATCHER OR STARMER? Today the Royal Navy destroyer HMS Dragon sails for Cyprus. A modern British warship heading out on deployment. But watching that departure raises a bigger question about the country she represents. In 1982 Britain watched an entire fleet sail south during the Falklands War. The nation was facing strikes, riots and economic hardship, yet there was still a sense of determination and purpose. At the centre of that moment stood Margaret Thatcher in Downing Street and Ronald Reagan in the White House. Their close political partnership became one of the clearest examples of the UK-US "special relationship" — a relationship that mattered during the Falklands crisis. Fast forward to today. HMS Dragon sails in a very different political climate. Keir Starmer is now Prime Minister and Donald Trump is back in the White House. Yet instead of the kind of unity seen between Thatcher and Reagan, tensions have already appeared, with Starmer refusing to help Trump on key issues. So what does that say about Britain today? Jon Gaunt looks at the contrast between two eras — from Thatcher's Falklands fleet to Starmer's Britain — and asks whether the country has lost the confidence, leadership and clarity it once had. Has Britain Abandoned the White Working Class? | Jon Gaunt Live #JonGaunt #JonGauntTV #WhiteWorkingClass #UKPolitics #WorkingClassBoys #FreeSpeech #BritishCulture Are white working-class boys the most overlooked group in Britain today? Labour wants to appoint an Anti-Muslim Hate Czar. But Jon Gaunt has a different question tonight: who is standing up for the white working-class man? Because right now, millions feel ignored, mocked and politically homeless. White working-class boys have the worst educational outcomes in Britain. Their communities feel abandoned. Yet if you dare mention it, you're shouted down as "far-right," accused of "toxic masculinity," or sneered at as a "flag shagger." Working-class culture used to be at the heart of Britain. Films like The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, Room at the Top, Look Back in Anger and Kes told the real stories of ordinary people. Today? Silence. Where are the working-class sitcoms? Where are the bands from the estates and factory towns? Oasis were the last of a breed. Even football — the people's game — now feels taken over by the middle classes. So Gaunty asks the question the political class won't: if we have czars for everything else, why not someone whose job is to fight for the white working class? Join the live debate and have your say. In his new documentary Amplified: The Exportation of the Culture Wars, director Mike Sheridan explores the profound influence of toxic discourse in the United States on the rest of the world – and in particular, Ireland.Through interviews and examples he shows how, with the amplification of social media, legitimate grievance can bloom into conspiracist, and how easily performance, paranoia, and power intertwine. As Irish Times reviewer Tara Brady notes, the film which “begins as a study of toxic discourse in the United States expands into a sobering excavation of recent unrest in Dublin. The riots of November 2023, along with the persistence of aggressive anti-immigrant demonstrations, are presented as symptoms of a transnational malaise”.Sheridan explains to In the News how he made the documentary, how imported misinformation can gain such a powerful hold, and why high-profile US commentators including Tucker Carlson and Nick Fuentes became so invested in the Dublin riots without any apparent factual knowledge of what occurred.Amplified: The Exportation of the Culture Wars is available to rent on Apple TV and other digital platformsPresented by Bernice Harrison. Trump Blasts Starmer — Is he a loser with no future? #Starmer #DonaldTrump #UKPolitics #Iran #TalkRadio #JonGaunt #JonGauntTV #Live Let's be honest for a moment. When Donald Trump calls Keir Starmer "a loser who has no future," Westminster reacts with outrage — shock, horror, clutch the pearls. But here's the real question. Why are so many ordinary voters not shocked at all? Because look at what people are seeing. A world that's becoming more dangerous by the day. Serious tensions in the Middle East involving Iran. Major global uncertainty. And Britain — once a country that projected confidence and strength — now looks hesitant, cautious, almost afraid to speak plainly. Then you look at what's happening at home. People worried about the economy. Communities worried about crime and cohesion. Arguments raging about immigration, integration and free speech. And what does the government seem focused on? Another new "czar". Another official to monitor language and police attitudes. Now supporters say tackling anti-Muslim hatred is important — and of course discrimination should be challenged wherever it appears. But critics are asking a fair question: Is the government more interested in managing political sensitivities than confronting the deeper problems that are making communities anxious in the first place? That's the debate people want to have. And instead of engaging with it openly, too often the political class just tries to shut the conversation down. Well tonight we're not doing that. Tonight we're asking the uncomfortable question. Is Keir Starmer actually leading Britain with confidence… or does he increasingly look like a Prime Minister who's struggling to convince the country he knows where he's taking it? And if you think I'm wrong — tell me. Because this show is about debate, not silence. Alex is joined again by Martin Benes for a wide-ranging conversation that jumps from the absurd pride people take in waking up at 5 a.m. to the constant debate between training hard and actually taking rest days. They dig into politics with a discussion of Kash Patel and zoom out to critique how events like the Olympics and FIFA have become battlegrounds in today's increasingly ridiculous culture war. Along the way, they call out the performative outrage on all sides—and, of course, settle nothing in the eternal Messi vs. Ronaldo debate.
March 6, 2026: The U.S. economy lost 92,000 jobs in February — and the headline number is almost the least interesting part of the story. When you break down where the losses actually came from, you get a picture far more complicated than the AI-took-our-jobs narrative dominating social media right now. Healthcare, tech, federal government, manufacturing, transportation — each sector tells a different story, and together they reveal a labor market being squeezed from multiple directions at once: AI, tariffs, Baby Boomer retirements, post-pandemic correction, and a geopolitical shock that just sent oil past $87 a barrel. Meanwhile, the Fed is openly questioning whether it even has the tools to respond — because cutting rates doesn't create jobs for people whose skills have structurally shifted out of demand. Also this week: Uber's CEO says don't come here if you want to coast — and why that lands so differently in this economic moment. A new survey reveals that 90% of companies have AI chatbots but almost none have integrated AI into real workflows — and that gap is driving some dangerous workforce decisions. And the Bank of England just started war-gaming what happens if AI triggers a full economic shock. TRUMP IS RIGHT: STARMER THE LOSER — Appeasement, U-Turns & £40K for Illegal Migrants | LIVE #JonGaunt #JonGauntTV #Live #Trump #Starmer #UKPolitics #IllegalImmigration #BorderSecurity #DetainDeport #MigrationCrisis #UKGovernment #EdMiliband #ShabanaMahmood Donald Trump has called Keir Starmer a loser — and looking at today's events, it's hard to argue with him. Starmer and Shabana Mahmood now want to offer illegal migrants up to £40,000 to go home. Instead of throwing taxpayers' money at the problem, why not secure our borders and adopt the only policy that works: DETER, DETAIN AND DEPORT. With more than 15 policy U-turns, Starmer seems to have the Midas touch in reverse — everything he touches turns to shit. Trump's criticism comes after Starmer reportedly refused to allow UK bases to be used in action against Iran, a decision many believe he was pushed into by figures such as Ed Miliband. Starmer held a press conference today trying to reassure the country that everything is under control. Watching it, I came away thinking something very different: the asylum system is broken and the lunatics are running the asylum in Westminster. Tonight we break it all down. ASHAMED TO BE BRITISH! Keir Starmer IS A WIMP – AND Donald Trump IS RIGHT! #JonGaunt #JonGauntTV #Live #KeirStarmer #DonaldTrump #UKPolitics #LawyerNotLeader #LordHermer #StarmerOut #Iran Live at 6PM – no BBC blandness, no establishment waffle, no sacred cows. I'm sick of it. Absolutely sick of it. Starmer is wringing his hands, clutching his pearls and lecturing the world about "international law" alongside Lord Hermer — while Britain looks weaker by the day. This isn't leadership. It's a seminar at a North London dinner party. Trump calls it straight. Starmer dithers. Trump acts. Starmer pontificates in that clipped, robotic tone like a broken 1970s answering machine. Who exactly is he governing for? The country? Or his future memoirs, his lefty backbenchers and the ever-sensitive block votes he's terrified of upsetting? He doesn't sound like a Prime Minister. He sounds like a human rights brief preparing a closing statement. Britain needs backbone. Britain needs clarity. Britain needs strength. Instead, we've got hesitation, prevarication and a man who looks permanently worried about what the Guardian might think. How much longer are we supposed to tolerate this? How much more damage before someone admits the obvious? He's a lawyer, not a leader. And right now, Britain is paying the price.

IS STARMER A COWARD ON IRAN? IS POLANSKI A DANGEROUS FOOL? #KeirStarmer #ZackPolanski #IranCrisis #UKPolitics #JonGaunt #JonGauntTV #Live #Trump Keir Starmer refuses to fully back tougher action on Iran — but is this caution… or cowardice? After a brutal by-election blow and the rise of Green Party leader Zack Polanski, is Labour now paralysed by fear of losing even more ground? Jon Gaunt asks the questions others won't. Is Starmer putting electoral survival before strong leadership on the world stage? Is Britain going soft at a dangerous moment in the Middle East? And is Zack Polanski offering bold alternatives — or playing a reckless political game? With tensions rising over Iran and UK politics shifting fast after the by-election shock, this is a no-holds-barred debate on leadership, foreign policy and the future of British politics.
Send a text(REPRISE from AUG 2025) Today I welcome a familiar voice and a longtime friend—Dr. Randall Balmer. Back in the day, when we were “Trinity Men,” he was “Randy” to me. Today, he's Dr. Balmer—historian, author, professor, and one of the leading voices on religion in America. He earned his graduate degrees at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Princeton, and Union Theological Seminary, and this marks our third interview together.Randall recently published a powerful piece in the Los Angeles Times about the 1925 Scopes Trial—often remembered as the showdown between Genesis and Darwin. He reminds us that the trial wasn't supposed to be about evolution at all, but that's where it landed. William Jennings Bryan thundered that “if evolution wins, Christianity goes.” Clarence Darrow countered, “It's not Scopes on trial—it's civilization.” Nearly a century later, the questions linger.Randall also brings us into his latest book, America's Best Idea: The Separation of Church and State. It's a sweeping story—Roger Williams's “hedge of separation,” Jefferson's Danbury letter, Madison, Adams, and the First Amendment—all the way to today's battles over vouchers, religious schools, and the religious right. Along the way, we'll talk about court rulings, culture wars, and the ongoing debate over whether America is a Christian nation—or a nation that protects the freedom of every faith, and of no faith at all. It's always a rich conversation when Dr. Balmer joins me, and today is no exception. This week Nish and Coco are joined by friend of the pod, Ash Sarkar from Novara Media to talk about political scandal, trust and compromise. Ash's book, Minority Rule, has a new afterword which talks about two progressive movements which have tried to build different kinds of relationships with voters. Is that the way forward - or are we stuck in an endless cycle of broken promises from our leaders? One of those leaders - Keir Starmer - seems to be lurching from crisis to nightmare, so can he rise above the latest headlines about Peter Mandelson's arrest and the Labour Together scandal?Plus Reform's new immigration policies, the new proposals to change the SEND system - and some good news about two protest groups.CHECK OUT THESE DEALS FROM OUR SPONSORS BABBEL: https://www.babbel.com/PSUKWISE: https://www.wise.comSURFSHARK: https://www.surfshark.com/podsave CODE: PODSAVE GUESTS Ash Sarkar, Contributing Editor at Novara Media and author of Minority Rule: Adventures in the Culture War - out now in paperback.USEFUL LINKSJumaane Williams' thoughtful response following the outcry about the handling of a racial slur at the Baftas.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgaqKIxS4Hs&t=1sCREDITSDaily Express - YouTubeNigel Farage - YouTube@sendra.uk - InstagramNida JafriPod Save the UK is a Reduced Listening production for Crooked Media.Get in touch - contact us via email: PSUK@reducedlistening.co.ukLike and follow us on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@PodSavetheUKInstagram: https://instagram.com/podsavetheukTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@podsavetheukBlueSky: https://bsky.app/profile/podsavetheuk.crooked.comFacebook: https://facebook.com/podsavetheukX: https://x.com/podsavetheuk

"Things Can Only Get Worse!" Why Is Keir Starmer So Unpopular? #JonGauntTV #JonGaunt #KeirStarmer #StarmerUnpopular #ThingsCanOnlyGetWorse #StarmerPolling #YouGov #MandelsonScandal "Things Can Only Get Worse!" Why Is Keir Starmer So Unpopular? He promised change. He promised competence. He promised honesty. What Britain got instead? U-turns, dithering, broken pledges — and now a storm over Mandelson that won't go away. From ditching core policies, to rewriting red lines, to treating voters like they wouldn't notice the climbdowns, Starmer's leadership has been one long exercise in saying one thing and doing another. Each retreat has chipped away at trust. Each reversal has fed the sense that this is a man with no fixed beliefs — just focus groups. And just when things couldn't look worse, along comes the Mandelson affair — raising serious questions about judgement, influence, and whether Labour really has left its old habits behind. The optics are dire. The explanations? Unconvincing. The public reaction? Brutal. Today's YouGov polling shows the damage is real — and spreading fast. So tonight we ask: ❌ How did Starmer squander the benefit of the doubt so quickly?
Pastor and Colorado State Rep Scott Bottoms is running for Governor of Colorado, and he's making the case for why Christians can't sit out the political arena anymore. When people break with MAGA, most of them walk away and don't look back, whether out of shame or fear or both. So it's a rare thing to talk with someone willing to describe publicly why they joined the Trump movement, what life was like on the inside, and the reasons they left — but it's just such a conversation we have for you today, with writer and former New Right firebrand Pedro L. CAN FARAGE AND YUSUF STOP THE BOATS, DITCH ECHR AND BAN BURQA #NigelFarage #ZiaYusuf #ReformUK #StopTheBoats #ECHR #BurqaBan #JonGaunt #JonGauntTV Britain's had enough. The borders are a joke, the system's broken, and the public's being ignored. So tonight we ask the questions the political class is terrified of. Can Nigel Farage and Zia Yusuf deliver what millions are demanding — or is this another promise that crashes and burns? We tear into Reform UK's hard-line proposals, straight, loud, and unapologetic:
In this episode of Straight White American, Jesus, we unpack the unraveling of Pam Bondi's moral rhetoric under the weight of the Epstein files. Bondi once ran campaign ads promising to protect children from trafficking “monsters,” yet when Epstein survivors stood behind her in a hearing room, she refused to turn around and acknowledge them. Pressed about Donald Trump's and Howard Lutnick's ties to Jeffrey Epstein, she lashed out at questioners and deflected to stock market numbers. The hypocrisy is hard to miss: a movement that built its identity on “saving the children” now treats actual survivors as political inconveniences. When Jared Moskowitz held up the Trump-branded Bible and noted that Trump's name appears in the Epstein files more times than God's appears in Scripture, the exchange crystallized the contradiction—commodified faith, selective outrage, and a refusal to confront abuse when it implicates one's own side. We also turn to the Twin Cities, where clergy and neighbors continue resisting ICE operations on the ground. As Axios reports, faith leaders are organizing prayer circles, serving as human shields, and explicitly naming Christian nationalism as incompatible with the teachings of Jesus. The theological divide is stark: Christian nationalists invoke Romans 13 to defend “state-authorized violence,” while progressive clergy center the red-letter teachings—love your neighbor, protect the least of these—even when it puts them in harm's way. From the politics of the Epstein files to the culture-war meltdown over Bad Bunny's Spanish-language Super Bowl performance, the throughline is clear: whose America is this, and whose lives count? Scott Galloway and Jessica Tarlov explore a weekend that showcased two very different Americas: Bad Bunny celebrated unity across the continent, while Donald Trump leaned into culture wars, attacking an Olympic skier for expressing mixed feelings about representing the U.S. and amplifying a racist video of the Obamas. At the same time, Congress is reviewing Epstein files, Ghislaine Maxwell is publicly hinting at clemency deals, and Trump's allies are facing political scrutiny. They also break down Trump's economic message ahead of the midterms — from AI-driven growth claims to foreign investment promises — and whether everyday Americans are actually seeing the benefits. Plus, they tackle the skyrocketing cost of NYC private schools, now topping $70,000 a year at elite institutions, and what it means for families navigating a struggling public system. After the All-American Halftime Show’s breakout success, Will Chamberlain and Libby Emmons break down what the Super Bowl revealed about the cultural clash in America.
