Employees are increasingly using artificial intelligence (AI) tools without the oversight of their IT departments, leading to significant security risks for organizations. A report by LayerX reveals that 89% of enterprise AI usage occurs outside IT visibility, with many employees accessing these tools through personal accounts. This lack of oversight raises concerns about data leakage, as corporate data is frequently pasted into AI applications. Additionally, a report by WalkMe highlights a disconnect between business leaders and employees regarding AI adoption, with many employees feeling inadequately trained and only a quarter noticing efficiency improvements. The findings underscore a dual crisis of visibility and adoption in AI technology. Organizations may invest in AI solutions, but the gap between employee usage and IT oversight creates risks of data leaks and compliance failures. Providers have an opportunity to help organizations regain control through better governance models and security policies. Furthermore, the report indicates that many employees are not ready to utilize AI effectively, leading to wasted potential and significant financial losses.Recent announcements from major tech companies highlight the growing integration of AI into business processes. Salesforce has launched AgentExchange, a marketplace for digital labor solutions, while Microsoft is set to release new software agents for its Dynamics 365 and Microsoft 365 platforms. These developments point to a strategic move towards automating business functions and improving efficiency. Additionally, Microsoft's Dragon Copilot aims to streamline administrative tasks in healthcare, showcasing the potential for AI to enhance productivity in specific industries. The podcast also discusses advancements in AI models, including OpenAI's GPT-4.5 and Microsoft's new local AI models, which democratize access to powerful machine learning capabilities. The collaboration between Snowflake and Microsoft aims to address data governance and security challenges in deploying generative AI. Meanwhile, Anthropic's recent funding success raises questions about the sustainability of AI valuations. The episode concludes with a look at the impressive realism of AI voices developed by Sesame and the anticipated upgrades to Apple's Siri, emphasizing the ongoing evolution of AI technology and its implications for businesses. Four things to know today00:00 Employees Secretly Chatting with AI Behind IT's Back Salesforce Opens AI Marketplace, Microsoft Sends Digital Helpers to Work; MSPs, Time to Get 05:48 Those Bots on the Payroll!09:28 AI Hits Home as Microsoft and Snowflake Empower Local Models; Meanwhile, Anthropic Bags Billions—But Is the AI Bubble Ready to Pop?13:24 AI Voices Get So Real Users Catch Feelings—Apple Promises Siri's Glow-Up, but Don't Hold Your Breath Until 2027  Supported by:  https://timezest.com/mspradio/https://www.huntress.com/mspradio/  Event: : https://www.nerdiocon.com/   All our Sponsors: https://businessof.tech/sponsors/ Do you want the show on your podcast app or the written versions of the stories? In this episode of Tech Talks Daily, I speak with Lia Spiegel, Senior Director of Product at WalkMe, about how their latest launch, WalkMeX, is transforming the future of business productivity.  While the market is flooded with AI assistants and tools, many are falling short of their promise to enhance productivity. Lia offers a fresh perspective on how WalkMe is creating a new category of AI that not only meets employees where they are but also delivers real, tangible benefits by working seamlessly across any application. WalkMeX, the first AI copilot with the context to guide users through any workflow, is changing how businesses and employees interact with AI. Rather than adding to the noise of countless apps, WalkMeX integrates into existing workflows, providing proactive and contextual advice that helps users focus on their work, not on managing technology. Lia shares insights into how WalkMeX flies side by side with users, allowing organizations of all sizes to deploy AI to boost productivity in a meaningful way. We also explore the challenges businesses face as AI tools flood the market. Many employees are expected to adapt quickly to new copilots without fully understanding their purpose or benefits, leaving them overwhelmed. A recent survey of 1,000 office workers revealed that over half use AI at work, yet almost half see no improvement in their productivity. Lia explains why so many AI tools fail and how WalkMe's approach is different, offering a unified experience that removes the friction from adopting new technology. Lia discusses the broader implications of AI for the future of work, including how WalkMe's advancements will help organizations use AI safely and effectively. With WalkMeX, businesses are finally able to unlock the true potential of AI, enabling employees to focus on what truly matters.

Ep. 114 Improving Digital Adoption for Secure Federal Technology Commercial enterprises and the federal government have a challenge in managing the tremendous tsunami of data that has been released in the past few years. On top of that, federal agencies are under an unfunded mandate to adopt Zero Trust for all its systems. During this interview, Billy Biggs from WalkMe suggests that Artificial Intelligence may provide solutions to this complex problem. He begins by addressing the concept of digital automation. For example, when a person requests time off, they may have to engage five separate systems. With automation, you can reduce that complexity. Billy Biggs looks at artificial intelligence from a longer perspective. He observes that today's Artificial Intelligence may be the worst one will see in their life. One approach he likes to see is a focus on increasing productivity with AI on a small scale first, then raising the level of adoption. His overall message is that AI will make substantial changes and humans will have to be trained in the new applications. This process cannot be done in a traditional classroom, it must be done in a process where training is done in an environment where training is built right into the application. A true digital transformation cannot waste time, it must look at how an AI system works identify the top ten issues, and create user efficiency with that approach. That way, time is not wasted teaching people about aspects of any new application that are not pertinent.   Follow John Gilroy on Twitter @RayGilray Follow John Gilroy on LinkedIn  https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-gilroy/ Listen to past episodes of Federal Tech Podcast  www.federaltechpodcast.com

SCOTT'S TIP:  “Don't forget about the math. A really good salesperson must understand the math of their client. If you're just reasonably good at math, you end up being a better salesperson. Understanding the business content, understanding how their budgeting process works, understanding how they evaluate a decision to invest or not invest. Understanding the business context of is this solution going to help you with your top line story or is it going to help you with your bottom line story? JEANETTE'S TIP:  “Have great mentors. I have had amazing mentors, both men and women. Right now, Michele Bettencourt, the chair of our board meets with me every other week. It's a huge investment of her time. A mentor goes a long way in helping you to progress your career. But also just someone that you can discuss things with, and throw ideas against and get feedback on. It doesn't always have to be, “How do I get from step A, to step B, to step C?” It's like, “Hey, I'm thinking this. What do you think?” Surround yourself with great mentors.”

If you're not in tech, you may not be familiar with Customer Success (CS) within your organization and how essential it is to the company's long-term success. Even if you do know what it is, perhaps your company isn't fully leveraging what it can do to catapult growth and revenue. Turns out, empathy is a key skill for CS managers, in addition to other traits my guest today will share. Not everyone's like you and they're looking at the challenge in a different way. "You need to be able to influence the rest of the organization so that they're able to see the customer journey as critical to the company's success." —  Emilia D'Ánzica About Emilia D'Anzica, Founder Growth MoleculesStarting her career in Silicon Valley, Emilia D'Anzica has developed a passion for SaaS products, women in tech, and customer success.
