On the show this time, it’s the emo-math, jangle-pop of Wuhan band Chinese Football. Chinese Football is a 4 piece indie-rock band formed in 2011. The name was indeed inspired by Midwest legends American Football, and the 2 bands have even played together. Their music has elements of emo, math-rock, indie-rock and punk. Their latest release is “Win or Lose”, the 3rd in a trilogy of albums based on a fictitious video game. The first was “Here Comes a New Challenger?” followed by “Continue?”. The albums all have killer anime style covers, by the illustrator Space Layout, inspired by Streetfighter 2. The lyrics sort of follow the trials and tribulations of singer Xu Bo’s dream of becoming a rock star, and the band touring the world. There’s a humility to the lyrics that borders on self deprecation, what they call “the hesitation which follows failure.” Once the band fires up though, there is no hesitation, they deliver tight jangly, intricate riffs, poppy harmony, and a danceable groove. Rob Wilson is Head of Executive Recruitment and Programmes at University Campus of Football Business, which now has sites at Wembley Stadium, Manchester with a global hub in Miami. UCFB is the first Higher Education institution in the world, dedicated to the delivery of University Degrees in the football and sports industries.   Rob on the ISC Professional Network Booster:  “I think it's a really good partnership, because it provides a huge amount of value for us at UCFB and I really hope that it provides a similar amount of value for ISC, by having those UCFB students around, by enabling them to access some of the parallel sessions and the speakers, I think it will really enrich the dynamics at the events and I hope, that in two or three year's time, we find those UCFB students that are working in middle executive leadership roles in sport, and they are on the stage at the ISC delivering a talk to the rest of the members and I think that would really demonstrate the golden thread of the partnership”.   Rob on networking:  “Networking is a crucial part of achieving in any sector. Understanding the people that work in the industries you want to access, but also the environments, the behaviours, the cultures, the mannerisms, the way you need to engage, the time of day you need to engage sometimes. How many opportunities do you have to go into a boardroom at a football club to meet a Director of Football Performance or the Finance Director? You need to take those opportunities and I think what the link up with the International Sports Convention does, is to really accentuate what UCFB are trying to achieve, ie: connecting with the sector and ISC is absolutely embedded in that sector. The speakers that are on offer, the events that are driven, are all the types of people and events that our students need to be able to access, to have those informal conversations and to make their impressions on the employers that might have an influence over them in the future”.   Rob on the evolution of UCFB:  “The sco-system is really important, so I would happily assume that ten or so years ago, when UCFB first started, people did begin to take notice of this new thing in the market place, but didn't really know what it was or what it was offering. But the calls I now have with executives right across the sports sector, when they ask me where I'm from, they say “oh yes, we've got an intern from there”. Rick Parry, the CEO of the EFL did exactly that recently. I think that demonstrates the way UCFB have begun to open up their brand awareness in terms of their students, but also, and this is where its critical, is the students that are going out into those organisations and are undertaking those roles are coming with a higher degree of professionalism and a really good reputation”.

Today's podcast features Ryan Jackson. Ryan has been the Associate Director of Human Performance/Nutrition with TCU Football since December 2021. His duties include team nutrition education, counseling, and menu planning. As a performance coach, he works directly with quarterbacks, mids, and advanced athletes. Jackson has been involved in sports performance and nutrition on the NCAA DI level for over 15 years. Tendons and connective tissue are an important aspect of human movement. Yet, compared to muscle, there is relatively little objective data or research on their adaptive processes or key performance metrics. Skeletal structure considerations, such as infrasternal angle, also play a vital role in an athlete's movement strategy and muscle mass dynamics and are also something we are just beginning to learn and integrate into the training equation. In creating a total performance program, it is essential to understand not just the dynamics of muscle but also of bone and tendon. On today's show, Ryan will discuss the correlations found at TCU between the Achilles tendon thickness, Nordboard metrics, fat-free muscle mass, and training season. He will also discuss the differences in Achilles thickness between football positions and the implications for training well-roundedness. Finally, Ryan will discuss the infrasternal angle measurements and how these correlate to an athlete's lean muscle mass and potential for maximal functional muscle gain in the gym. This episode was an awesome deep dive into cutting-edge information about connective tissue and performance. Interesting. We have a guy the second biggest, and I think it's a product of their movement and their position, where if I'm backpedaling, moving backwards more, it's more eccentric loading. Right?” “So you get the knee bent to a 30 degree angle, and then you push as hard as you can, push your heel up into the strap as hard as you can, and it's like an ISO for like three to 5 seconds, overcoming ISO for like three to 5 seconds. There is an inverse relationship between Infra-sternal angle. So what I mean by that is the more narrow, the more force produced in that test” “But what we saw with that is that, yes, it was very strongly correlated with Isa. With higher. The greater the angle, the higher their fat-free-mass-index is, which in theory makes sense, and that typically that person is going to be wider. So they have the ability to handle more muscle mass on their frame” “So you would think that a big would have the widest ISA on the team. That was not the case. We had a running back, actually had the biggest 205 pound running back, had the biggest ISA in that upper 25% quartile.

Locked On Longhorns - Daily Podcast On Texas Longhorns Football & Basketball

Yes, I started off this video with that explosive soundbyte from Torre Becton (Director of Football Performance) at @Texas Longhorns Football. Hope it gave you chills like it did for me. I'm currently re-watching all of the losses for Texas football last year (I know, depressing) and the biggest key was that they constantly lost the time of possession battle. In fact, Texas was 1-7 last year when they lost the time of possession battle. Yes, Texas lost every game where they lost the possession battle. This is why it is the most important stat for this Texas football team in 2022. Sark fielded a very explosive offense in 2021 that averaged 35 points per game but it was not efficient. Their inability to sustain drives, left our defense on the field for way too long which led to teams running it down our throat and ultimately leading to a 5-7 season. If Texas can get closer to the 32 minutes they gave their opponents last year and hold their opponents to 28 minutes a game that they had, 9 wins should be the floor for this football team in 2022. After that we talk about four of Texas's key targets in this recruiting class that are currently leaning towards Texas and how that will affect their recruiting class moving forward. Last but not least, I discuss my most important players for Texas to have the type of success they are accustomed to. My most important player on the defensive side is Alfred Collins, one of the most talented defensive players in the 2020 recruiting class and arguably the most talented defensive lineman on this football team. Sark has said that the most important position in his offense besides quarterback is tight end. So if Quinn Ewers is the most important and that's cliche, that would mean Jahleel Billingsley would be the second most important position on his offense. I look for Jahleel to consistently exploit mismatches and help this offense be even more explosive in 2022.
