Jay Kapoor is combining venture capital and storytelling to help visionary founders achieve maximum impact. Jay noticed that while it was easier than ever to start a business, that made it harder than ever for individual companies to get noticed. How could founders get the world to see their unique vision for a better future? The answer was simple, but not easy – tell a compelling story. So, he and co-founder Vijay Chattha created VSC Ventures, a venture capital firm that invests in early-stage climate tech and automation startups, using the power of storytelling to help them stand out. Hear Jay talk about the importance of curiosity and empathy, what the NFL's international games can teach us about growing a brand, and why every good business starts with a really good story. Far too often, people – even well-meaning folks who work in the field – fail to see nursing home residents as humans capable of the same growth, creativity, and fulfillment as people living in private homes. In fact, this ageism and ableism is a major reason why our imagination around reforming communal care settings is so narrowly focused on individual health metrics, and not overall wellbeing. Andres “Jay” Molina is living proof that one's life as a productive, curious human doesn't end upon moving into a nursing home. Since coming to New York City's Coler nursing community at age 35 after a significant health emergency, Jay has become an advocate for people living with disabilities; a self-taught animator; a poet and storyteller; and the co-director of “Fire Through Dry Grass,” a gripping documentary about the experience of Coler residents during the COVID-19 pandemic. Tune in to hear Jay's perspectives on how nursing homes must change to meet the spiritual, emotional, and creative needs of residents – and how they can better support residents' innate desire to contribute to the community. Welcome to another episode of Millionaire Secrets! This week we're in the presence of greatness! Jay Samit joined me to talk about entrepreneurship and the growing need for new businesses. Along the way, we discovered that we have a lot of similar opinions about the importance of self-belief. We also shared an understanding of how it affects a person's prospects in life. But we both arrived at these conclusions from very different places. Jay was the President of EMI Records, he served as a VC for Deloitte, and he's worked with a string of pre-IPO companies. It's these experiences that have given him a unique perspective on entrepreneurship. He suggests that anyone can become a millionaire within one year if they have the appropriate motivation and self-belief. But it's not just a theory… He's actually got proof! He performed an experiment whereby he told someone they'd be a millionaire within one year. He offered his faith and encouragement, but nothing else. Low and behold, that person earned over $1m within their first year! So this raises the question… Can anyone become a millionaire? Could you? Find out in this episode of Millionaire Secrets with Jay Samit!

Are you ready for that personal transformation that will help you step into your dreams? That will help you as you navigate the early stages of building or growing a business doing what you love? The wait is over, Lovely. I am so excited to share with you the insight and wisdom of the amazing Dr. Jay LaGuardia, health and wellness extraordinaire! Honestly, this might just be one of my favorite episodes yet. You don’t want to miss it. Jay doesn’t hold anything back in this interview. He reveals how his traumas from his childhood reveal themselves in unpleasant ways in his adult life, nearly ruining his relationship with his wife and children and his business. He not only shares the moment he knew he needed to make a change but reveals the rather simple steps that he put in place to make that change. The best part? It doesn’t have to be complicated. Jay has an incredible way of showing how making these shifts in your life can be rather easy for you to manage (after 30 years of doing it himself, he would know). He breaks down his advice in easy to manage pieces so you too can begin transforming your mindset, freeing yourself from the shackles of whatever thoughts and emotions are holding you back, and instead stepping into the vision of what you want and who you want to be. The steps he shares to help you unlock a total mindset (and life) transformation are ones that anyone (including you) can begin implementing in their own life right away. Listen as he shares his first experiences with meditation (and how it clarified the steps he needed to take to live a better life) and discusses how regaining control over his emotions bettered his personal and professional life. Once he shifted his mindset, not only did his life at home improve, but his (already successful) business experienced a whole new level of growth. By telling his own story, Jay reveals five elements to strong leadership (and the mindset shifts it takes to implement them) that will help any business owner grow their team, foster trust, and improve company culture. But this episode is about more than being a leader in your business. It’s about being a leader in your own life. Perhaps my favorite part of this whole interview is when Jay shares the four steps behind one-minute mindset shifts. This is a quick, yet highly effective exercise that can help you align your mindset with your vision in one minute. You read that right. Four steps. One minute. Total change. You can literally start doing this exercise as soon as you finish this episode and be on your way to taking back your power in your life so you can start living the life you’ve always wanted. Oh, and he doesn’t stop there. He also shares his five keys to living a happy and successful life. This is the episode for anyone who is tired of being held back by their past, their emotions, or their mindset. So, if you are ready to step into the version of you that will allow your biggest dreams to become your reality, get ready to dive in, Lovely. In this episode… [02:08] Welcome, Dr. Jay! Follow along as he explains how his wellness journey began. [07:06] Jay explains how his emotions were negatively impacting his life. [09:00] How meditation and visualization opened the door for change in Jay’s life. [17:10] Jay’s 5 top tips for leadership that can change your business. (He talks responsibility, vulnerability, and trust). [19:37] Building your team? Follow these tips to ensure alignment. [22:47] Jay describes what it takes to commit to a personal transformation. [25:21] The three things Jay does every day to continue to commit to the transformation. [28:22] Jay talks about goal-setting (and the mistake a lot of people make when setting theirs). [30:50] There are three types of people in the world… [32:28] Learn how to do one-minute mindset shifts! [37:18] Hear about Jay’s inspirational business! [43:06] Hear Jay’s advice for living a life that’s better than your dreams (5 keys to happiness and success). Quotes: “The world around us reflects us. If we don't like the world around us, we have to change [ourselves] before the world around us can change. And the honest thing is we're not really changing the external world. What we're doing is changing our perception of the external world and therefore the world shows up differently.” -Jay LaGuardia “Success is not about just meditating at the top of a mountain. You actually have to take the action.” -Emily Williams “When we shift our mindset from adversity to opportunity to solve problems, it completely changes the way we do business [and] the way we look at things.” -Jay LaGuardia “Take care of your physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing, because you are an example to everyone around you. And when you show up your best, you inspire others to show up their best.” -Jay LaGuardia Links & Resources: Subscribe to the Podcast: I Heart My Life Show on Apple Podcasts I Heart My Life Show on Spotify Connect with Dr. Jay LaGuardia: The Triple P Life Website Listen to the Triple P Life Podcast Catch the replay of his latest Virtual Summit Dr. Jay LaGuardia on Facebook or Instagram Connect with Emily: I Heart My Life Website I Heart My Life on Instagram I Heart My Life on Facebook I Heart My Life on LinkedIn I Heart My Lifers Community Email: info@iheartmylife.com Book a Call

In a rare episode your host, entrepreneur and mentor, Jay Dhillon gets questioned on all things business. How he mentors, how he can help you start, grow and scale your own business and why mentoring is the key to success. Hear Jay’s personal story from of how mentorship helped him got him where he is today and how he learns from the losses and enjoys the triumphs. KEY TAKEAWAYS The mind is something that you can keep educated and keep training. In technology now (particularly since the lockdown) you need to be able to adapt, this means constantly learning. We can see the future, we know where it is going we want to be always educated ourselves if you carry on doing what you were 15 years ago you will not advance in business. Mentors should be highly valued as you know they have likely been through difficulties in their businesses. When you speak to mentors or others who have been successful in business, they are telling their stories raw, there is no script or strategy and they give you the belief if they have done it you can do it. You learn from your loses, but you won’t make the same mistakes again. The start-up phase is usually the toughest phase but the most enjoyable, you have to enjoy the process. Many people end up placing too much pressure on themselves, they want that big goal straight away. If you’ve had a big business win, just enjoy it. The journey to success has to be enjoyed, enjoy the wins because the pressures of business are there all the time anyway. It is really important to open up to people if you are struggling in your business if you don’t open up and you don’t be open and honest with your mentor or the person you work with then you will go down the path of fighting against something that you need to let out. When someone very close to you tells you that you’re not going to be successful in business and tells you time and time again, and perhaps you’re going into a competitive industry that you are not familiar with it is not nice to hear. This usually makes you want to do it, even more, make sure you give it your all and do it for yourself. BEST MOMENTS “When I’m not growing, I’m not fulfilled and that means picking up a book, trying a new idea or a new business.” “You learn more from failing than you do from your successes.” “I encourage every entrepreneur to take the help, take what’s on offer especially if you’re struggling and reach out.” VALUABLE RESOURCES Watch the Podcast Interviews by Subscribing to Jay’s Youtube Channel http://bit.ly/JayDhillonYouTube Subscribe to The Business Mentor Podcast, the #1 iTunes Business Podcast in the UK! https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/business-mentor-podcast/id1370793386 ABOUT THE HOST Jay Dhillon is a serial entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist based in the UK with a proven track record of growing businesses from start-up to success- and helping others do the same. From humble beginnings, Jay grew his first business from 0 to 500 employees and three locations, racking up sales of over £30 million – all with no investment other than a slight amount of savings. The business went on to acquire major clients such as Landrover, Jaguar, Toyota, and New Look, to name a few. Its immense success inevitably brought about outside interest, and at the age of 33, Jay eventually sold the company to a London investment firm in Doyen Resources. Today, Jay owns several businesses in different sectors and helps entrepreneurs achieve success. A calling to give back and help others led to Jay being chosen for the highly coveted role as a Prince’s Trust mentor, where his achievements were marked by a personal invitation to Buckingham Palace to meet Prince Charles. After helping several young entrepreneurs to succeed as a mentor for the Trust, Jay’s burning desire to bring his wisdom and knowledge to a wider audience ultimately triggered the concept of The Business Mentor Podcast. Jay feels that anyone can achieve success in business with the right advice and mentoring and is now sharing his knowledge with his growing audience via his podcast. In the UK alone 95% of businesses fail within the first five years and Jay aims to reduce that number. Backed with the hard-earned knowledge and experience from his time in business, The Business Mentor Podcast will share Jay’s personal business lessons as well those of other successful entrepreneur guests who share their wisdom and secrets on the show. Workout With Smart Training Workout with Jay Kali Do you workout? Jay Kali is your man. Especially, if you are female. He has an awesome tale to tell. The Early Years Jay worked in a federal prisons for about 5 years. He reflected. And decided he didn't want to babysit men who weren't able to handle themselves in society. Where could he go? He turned up in Cancun. The first prison he worked at was Springfield, Missouri. Followed by Montgomery, Alabama. They were not only a long way apart, but they also had different facilities. Springfield was an administrative unit. Which meant they had every single custody level, from people ready to leave tomorrow to other mentally unfit to be in society. He had a soft landing in Cancun, thanks to his father who had retired down there. Jay has been in Cancun for 6 years and was married 3 years back. Workout Business Jay tried his hand at a scuba diving business. It didn't work out. So, he turned his hand to a workout business, so to speak! So, was his wife a client? Hear Jay's answer: http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Was-Jay-Kalis-Wife-a-Client-First.mp4 His training went well. She kept getting a better body... When he looked around Cancun, he couldn't find a style of gym that he wanted to exercise in. They were mostly about pumping iron. He opened up the first of its kind fitness facility. A hybrid. His business was in the black in month one. A second facility opens 9 months later? A bit like cross-fit. a functional intense fitness facility. He has been welcomed by his Spanish family. "One of the most joyous things of my life". The Fitness Business was a Rapid Success He pushed thousands of people through his business. It was very profitable. He had to attract local people. He was downtown. So it was indigenous. But this was a problem. IT WASN'T AS AFFLUENT AS OTHER MARKETS. A big lesson. Lots of clients. Paying pretty well, but low income per client. His business partners were too comfortable where they were. He wasn't. How can you find Jay? How was the online business going to help him? It is counter-intuitive? Often you realise you cannot talk to many people. Online, he was just another guy. competing against YouTube free videos How did Jay stand out? http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/How-did-Jay-Stand-out-online.mp4 Being around. Top of mind. Same message. Congruent. True. He now does not have any Hispanics on his client roster. His clients come from the US, UK, Italy, and Australia. Before he engages a client, he makes sure they are a good fit. He doesn't work with everybody. There is a big difference when Jay coaches you in person. He can get a little bit more intense. Online, you learn a totally different way to interact. Otherwise the person will drop the call. Session over. How does Jay Interact Online? http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Interacting-Online.mp4 Where do his clients workout? Often clients don't want to go to a gym. He figures what they CAN do? What do you enjoy doing? Whatever it is let's make that happen so we can get you the results you desire. It's not really a workout. When you do have the accountability of a coach, a mentor, you can be helped. Especially as Jay can call on the experience of helping thousands of people to train and work out in Mexico. That means he can translate the learnings to other countries around the world. The client knows what they want to do, says Kevin. Experience from his business coaching business suggests, that clients know what they want, but need help teasing it out. To challenge them, and give them in the accountability. The view from 30,000 feet. I know you are lost in the forest, but we are working our way through the trees. A way to a different spot. Its a different perspective. Helping people to find a new direction. This personal help gets great reviews.

Jay Baer is the founder of Convince & Convert, a company that provides social media and content marketing strategies to top brands. He’s also a digital marketing expert, keynote speaker at events all across the globe, he’s a New York Times best-selling author, an investor in tech start-ups, founder of 5 multi-million dollar companies, and he’s also a blogger and podcaster. In this episode, Jay shares 3 strategies that helps him up-level his Twitter marketing. He talks about how GIFs are the ultimate snackable content, how a personalized URL shortener is great for branding, and why scheduling your tweets at the right time will improve its visibility and get you great results. Episode Highlights: Jay recommends using GIFs in your tweets. They get much more attention in the stream and a lot more interactivity in engagement from people. In his experience, Jay says GIFs are more engaging than a static image or even a short video. GIFs are visually interesting. The 3-second loop is the ultimate snackable content. Try this: the next time you’re on a Twitter chat, use GIFs in some of your tweets. You are sure to get noticed and will see an increase in your engagement. Jay talks about using two different URL shortener types in his tweets. For other people’s content, he and his team at Convince & Convert will use a regular bit.ly link shortener. For content he and the team creates, they use their own custom link shortener: candc.ly. If you’re tweeting at scale and with regularity of your own content, Jay suggests getting a custom URL shortener. It’s not expensive. And it’s a great way to be in tuned with your branding. Hear Jay talk about his posting strategy where he schedules tweets to go out a few minutes before or a few minutes after the top of the hour. If your audience is in business, their day is ruled by calls, meetings and appointments. Most of these start and/or end at the top or bottom of the hour. For instance, 1-1:30pm or 2-3pm, etc. Jay is publishing content in that short, micro-window like say 12:57pm, 2:02pm or 2:58pm. Jay says: “Be thinking about what is your audience likely to be doing in each minute of each hour.” Tools, Links and Apps Mentioned: Convince & Convert – Jay’s company provides social media and content marketing strategies to the world’s most interesting brands.
