On the podcast this time, Steven and Sean are on the hunt for a mysterious hidden treasure and shooting at loads of people along the way with the 2008 film from Kim Jee-woon, The Good, the Bad, the Weird. Perhaps this film won't be anything that breaks any new storytelling ground—it is a new version of the classic The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly by Sergio Leone. Given the history of spaghetti westerns liberally borrowing from other films, that one was also probably a retread of other things, too. There's nothing original anymore; all the stories have been told. What matters now is telling familiar stories in fresh ways. Friend, this one tells a familiar story in the freshest way imaginable. It's a rollicking buddy-chase-shootout-caper western and that's a fantastic combination of genres. Stick all those ingredients together and you've got a hell of a crazy stew going. What's great about this one is its ability to surprise. You may be familiar with this story, but it's still not going to be what you expect. There's plenty of heavy emotion and blistering action. It's a truly stellar film from South Korea. #022 - Named one of the top 50 wedding photographers in the US in 2014, Minnesota-native Shelley Paulson was traveling for work when she experienced a seemingly minor accident at a rental car center that would change her life forever. When she returned home, Shelley knew something was seriously wrong when stifling headaches began to impact her ability to get around with a camera. Further tests confirmed the worst; her "minor" accident had caused traumatic brain injury. Tune in to hear the story of how a heartbreaking diagnosis and true leap of faith led this award-wedding equestrian photographer to walk away from weddings and create a happier (and more profitable) life than ever before. I spoke with Elizabeth Kaye McCall on Oct 28, 2021 and we had a conversation that took us to many places following where her intuition has lead her over the years with her life working with horses in the publishing, film and entertainment industry. The stories were amazing which inspires me to say Just Say Yes when it feels right and goes easy!BioBased in California, Elizabeth Kaye McCall is an author, journalist, and media consultant, specializing in the horse industry, travel, and entertainment. She worked as the original horse industry liaison for the equestrian spectacle Cavalia. Her book The Tao of Horses: Exploring How Horses Guide Us on Our Spiritual Path shows how horses can transform the way we see the world, interact with our environment, and handle challenges. RAJALIKA SPEAK is a young adult tale about a royally-bred Arabian stallion gone bad, who found redemption when he learned to talk. Elizabeth's passion for the horse-human bond can be found in numerous articles for wide-ranging outlets including Los Angeles Times, Hana Hou!, Hemispheres, Cowboys & Indians, Horse Illustrated, Arabian Horse Life, America's Horse, USA Weekend, The Hollywood Reporter, and more. Public relations clients have included The Alisal Guest Ranch & Resort, Cowboy Entrepreneur Scott Knudsen, Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board, MGM Grand Air, US Small Business Administration, Pepperdine University Equestrian Center, Al-Marah Arabians, and Arabian Nights. I'm a member of American Horse Publications, American Horse Council, and International Screenwriters Association. I won first place in 2020 American Horse Publications Media Awards Freelance Feature category for my story “Black Beauty Rides Again” that ran in Cowboys & Indians magazine.https://www.cowboysindians.com/2020/11/black-beauty/www.elizabethkayemccall.com mccallelizabethkaye@gmail.cominstagram, facebook, linkedin, twitter

Nothing pleases adventure-travel writer Linda Ballou more than seeing gorgeous country from the back of a good horse. Her articles have appeared in Equus, Horse Illustrated, California Riding Magazine, and numerous travel publications. Lost Angel Walkabout is a collection of travel essays about her most meaningful adventures. Her New-Adult novel The Cowgirl Jumped Over the Moon travels from the Grand Prix jumping circuit to the High Sierras. Embrace of the Wild, her latest, was inspired by the life of equestrian explorer Isabella Bird, and covers territory that ranges from the life-affirming Hawaiian Islands and to the majesty of the Rocky Mountains. How does a travel journalist translate her talents into the book-length form? Find out Thursday, July 22, when Linda joins TRAVEL ITCH RADIO for a half-hour discussion with Dan Schlossberg and Maryellen Nugent Lee. Listen live at 8p ET on iTunes or BlogTalkRadio.com or check out the archived show anytime on Facebook. Linda resides in the heart of the Santa Monica Mountains in Southern California. She loves exploring the California coast and shares her favorite day trips in her guidebook Lost Angel in Paradise.
