Hello my running friends. Welcome to episode 5-497 of the RunRunLive podcast. Once more we find ourselves together my friends. How are you navigating the weirdness of these days? For today's interview we talk with Dr. Savannah Santiago who is a podiatrist and runner from San Diego doing her residency in Indianna. First, let me say that this is the most fun I've had talking to someone in a long time. She was so positive and engaged – just glowing with positive karma. And it just makes me happy to know that souls like her exist in the world. I've started, or reverted to, using Zoom to record these interviews. That means we are usually both on camera during the chat – so I get to see the body language of who I'm talking to. I almost want to start posting the video versions of this because I think it would be fun for you to put a face with a voice. In section one I'm going to get all geeky runner guy and do a deep dive into tempo training in general and surge runs in particular – which my running buddies mocked me by calling them ‘Serge' runs. In section two I'll ramble about getting old. It's my birthday next week. And I think I've been having the same conversation every birthday since I turned 30! Hosted on Acast. Tom Baulch, 20, along with his family, is running Jaclinton Poll Herefords (IG: @jaclinton_poll_Herefords). Tom, following in his late father Clinton's footsteps, secured a $96,000 Hereford sire, Yavenvale Trump Card T350, at the Yavenvale Herefords sale. An apprentice boilermaker, Tom's passion for cattle breeding is evident in his careful genetic selection and dedication to their stud herd of 100 registered cows at Illowa. Since Clinton's sudden passing in 2022, Tom, his mother Jacquie, and sister Indianna have maintained the stud's operations and upheld the Jaclinton beef brand. Tom plans to revive the brand and market high-quality beef, while also preparing for the Herefords Australia National Show and Sale at Wodonga. He balances his apprenticeship with farm work and remains committed to his father's breeding philosophy and legacy. Indianna Bell and Josiah Allen's feature film debut, YOU'LL NEVER FIND ME, drops us in the midst of a violent thunderstorm, where a soaking wet and seemingly shaken to her core, a young woman (Jordan Cowan), knocks at a stranger's door in an RV park looking for shelter and comfort. Patrick (Brendan Rock), is a strange and lonely resident, lives in one of the mobile homes. At first glance, she finds help in the care and concern shown to her. But soon, that care transforms into curiosity and paranoia. And in this small RV, shaking from the raging rain and wind outside, paranoia spreads like wildfire. Both parties question the motives and desires of the other. As uncertainty and nervousness heat up and questions come thick and fast, things turn dangerous for the duo. Perceptions of what's real and what's not come into play, and all roads lead us to a deadly and bizarre showdown. Co-directors and co-writers Josiah Allen & Indianna Bell stop by to talk about their feature film debut, their choice once again cast Jordan Cowan and Brendan Rock as the leads, shooting the entire film in very tight quarters, the amazing sound design and how much they like exploring the cinema of horror to tell this story. Thank you for listening to The Following Films Podcast. Today, I'm joined by Directors Josiah Allen and Indianna Bell to discuss their film YOU'LL NEVER FIND ME In the Australian outback, a lonely, paranoid man, Patrick (played by Brendan Rock) gets a knock on his door during a torrential storm. He finds a woman, only known as "The Visitor" (played by Jordan Cowan, who also produces) in need of a phone to find her way home. He cautiously lets her in, which sets off a claustrophobic night of doubt, hidden motivations, and a tense, ever-shifting game of mental cat-and-mouse. All of which leads to, without spoiling anything, an explosive finale that turns the paranoia thriller format on its head! Directors Josiah Allen and Indianna Bell approached their feature debut like a challenge. Indianna, who also wrote the film, set out to see how much tension they could conjure with potentially limiting factors like a singular location and just two actors. With a small team of trusted collaborators from their previous short films, such as their remarkable cinematographer Maxx Corkindale, the duo sought to capture a brooding and anxious atmosphere a la 'Enemy' or 'It Comes At Night' while channeling the darkness and isolation that Australian filmmakers do best. The final product that subverts the dialogue-driven, chamber piece structure on its head and serves as yet another bold entry to the recent renaissance of horror down under! Emily chats with Indianna Hale about her new album, Yesterday's Glitter, which is out now on Perpetual Doom. Indianna's co-producer Jason Cirimele also joins in on the chat and the two discuss their collaboration on this record, as well as their many additional musical projects. ------ Yesterday's Glitter, a new record from San Francisco's Indianna Hale features indie rock in the vein of Cate Le Bon, Faye Webster, and Cass McCombs and draws from 1950s torch-pop icons like Patsy Cline, the songs on Yesterday's Glitter come wrapped in A.M.-era gauze. It's classic Indianna Hale —the perfect fusion of Marty Robbins and Liz Phair you never knew you needed. The twelve tracks on Yesterday's Glitter resonate with vintage timbre but they also cut with a twenty-first century urgency. Lead Single “I Can't Talk To You” lightly teases a lover for being too self centered, while the melodic bass and chimey guitar weave a counterpoint that almost tells a story of its own. “Nothing you can say to a person with a broken heart,” she sings. “Nothing you can hear when the song in your head's too country.” The album's second single, "Hollow the Words," is sonically peppy and lilting, but finds clouds behind its silver lining. "It was tragically beautiful being with you," Hale sings. She describes the song, inspired by the transience of San Francisco, as "a love song to my friend family." It's emblematic of an album whose rumbling bass and soaring vocals are always pretty, but never simple. Hale describes recording Yesterday's Glitter as a serendipitous process of "electric collaboration" alongside producer and guitar player Jason Cirimele. "While tracking 'The Tighter the Grip,' Jason said 'You know what this song needs?' To which I replied, 'Fuzz bass chords on the chorus!' He said 'That's exactly what I was going to say!'" Over the course of three years, the pair brought in friends and bandmates to create the record's rich sound, including Brian Bethel on bass and Rob Mills (Spooky Mansion) and Cody Rhodes (Geographer, Curls) on drums. On Yesterday's Glitter, mid-century country pop stylings get fitted with fuzzy guitars and filtered through a curtain of dreamy Casio nostalgia to create an album you'll have on repeat.
In episode 118 of the Glow Journal podcast, host Gemma Watts talks to the founder of Tomorrow-Today Beauty, Indianna Roehrich. If you've worked in the fashion, beauty, or lifestyle media space in Australian in the last decade, you know the name Indianna Roehrich. Indi started her own social media management agency, Simply Social Management , in 2015 when she was just 22 years old. I first met her a little under 10 years ago and she's always struck me as being ahead of the curve- the concept of social media management was so new in 2015 that the majority of people still thought it was a fad, but at 22 her gut instinct was so strong and, as we now know, was also absolutely correct. Indi's curiosity around blue light exposure piqued about 4 years ago, when blue light eyewear hit the mainstream. This prompted her to start looking into what blue light was doing to the skin, and upon discovering just how much it can speed up the photoaging process, she went searching for a solution- and couldn't find one. This week, following three and a half years of research and development, Indianna launched Tomorrow-Today Beauty with a single, meticulously formulated SKU- the Tech Protect Serum, formulated to both shield AND repair the skin from blue light exposure and designed to look after tomorrow's face, today. In this conversation, Indianna shares advice to business owners on why it's worth pushing through the hard parts when your brand is in its infancy, what our devices are actually doing to our skin, and her insider tips on making the algorithms work for you. On this episode, meet the wonderful Indianna Hale, a San Francisco singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist that mixes Spaghetti Western/Twin Peaks sonics with fuzzy guitars and vocals/lyrics that sound like if Lana Del Rey came from West Marin instead of West Hollywood. We chat and dive into her new LP "Yesterday's Glitter." Plus two hours of fresh tunes from the Bay and beyond including a preview of the upcoming Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park.
On this episode, Andrew talks with co-directors Indianna Bell and Josiah Allen about their first feature film, You'll Never Find Me. Building on their impressive short film work with Call Connect. and The Recordist, You'll Never Find Me sees a visitor, played by Jordan Cowan, who knocks on the door of Patrick, played by Brendan Rock. She's lost and it's pouring outside, and in the middle of nowhere, his caravan is the only source of sanctuary that she could find. Or is it? What follows is a twisting, turning character piece where two figures push and probe each other trying to figure out just who the other is. It's a double-hander that plays a lot like a card game, with bluffing, truth revealing, and ultimate tension playing out. I've long been a fan of what both Indianna and Josiah have managed to do with their filmmaking brilliance in South Australia. Call Connect. is a short film that easily stands as one of the most riveting and powerful shorts I've seen, and The Recordist is no different. The two have crafted a visual style with their work that is equally amplified by sound design that creates an immersive sonic landscape that supports Indianna's scripts. If there is a future of independent filmmaking in Australia to keep an eye out for, then it's in the heart of Adelaide with Indi and Josiah's work. You'll Never Find Me launches at the Melbourne International Film Festival on August 16, with a second screening on the 19th. Head over to MIFF.com.au for futher details. In episode 309 I'm talking to Allison Jacobs who runs the award winning, and amazing Scouts Honour Pet Retreat in Bloomington, Indianna. Allison spent her early years lazing through the summer months reading An Encyclopedia of Dogs, which fired a lifelong love for canines. She first studied music, before switching to a less competitive Italian Language program. Alongside university, from age 17 to 25 she worked at BestBuy, which kickstarted her love of business, where she also met her husband and best friend, and learned about organisation, which came in very useful with her future dog business. Upon leaving university she originally started pet sitting with Rover, and got busy very quickly, then in June 2021 Allison and her husband teamed up with business partner, Kristen to launch a daycare. * How the original idea for Scouts honour came from listening to what Allison and Kristens own dogs needed. * Why apps like Rover are great to get your started as a pet sitter, but have serious limitations if you want to stand out and scale up * Why dog safety and human safety are the foundation stones of Scouts Honours success. * Why looking after your staff members helps attract better daycare clients who are looking for the best facility. * How to create a winning partnership with someone who shares your vision and values, and why it's good to have a 'boring' business partner. Allison is so transparent about the whole business journey including costs, financing, emotional investment and hustle that was required to turn her daycare dream into a reality. Show Notes Episode 373: David and Eddie Had Had It Already By the Summer of 85 This week Host Dave Bledsoe climbs up on stage to do his famous karaoke version of Just A Gigolo (we hate to admit, it's GOOD) only to bust the seam in the ass of pants. (Sadly, he just kept right on singing) On the show this week we tell you the tale of one great band and two massive egos: David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen. (You all know how THAT ended.) Along the way we discover how Dave's dad (our Dave, not the cool one) accidentally introduced a chubby pre-teen to rock and roll and regretted it ever after. (Just the first of many regrets the poor man would have over his son.) Then we dive right into the story of Edward and Alex Van Halen, two little Dutch Boys and one kid from Indianna with a sound system that made rock and roll history. (We really owe it all to the sound system) We give you the story of the rise of Van Halen and then we tell you how drugs, booze and towering egos brought it all crashing down. Our Sponsor this week is Diamond Dave's School of Dance, we can't teach you how to DANCE but we can teach you how look fucking COOL on stage! We open with Diamond Dave being VERY DIamond Dave and close with OAR waving Brenda and Eddie goodbye! We are back with another discussion with The Whole Church Round Table! We have gathered leaders from all kinds of different traditions and denominations in the Church to discuss the problems the Church is facing today, together! Today we address questions like, What is a Church hurt? Does the Church cultivate a culture of abuse or of love? How do you heal when you've been hurt by the church? How do you know when you should leave a church? What is religious trauma? What does the Bible say about Church hurt? What is spiritual abuse? How do you address spiritual abuse? Why are women often both the victim and the one to blame for sexual abuse in the Church? Is it the responsibility of women to be more modest, or is the responsibility of men to act more decent? We talk through examples like why so many Megachurches end with stories of spiritual abuse or Church hurt. What have we learned from the Hillsong Megachurch exposed? What did the southern baptist church sexual abuse report teach us? What is the southern baptist convention and are they alone in dealing with sexual abuse in the Church? Why has sexual abuse become so prevalent in our churches? What have we learned from the story of Mark Driscoll, american author and pastor of Mars Hill Church? What can examples of hurt from Mars Hill Church like those of Jesse Bryan, William Wallace, Mike Gunn teach us? How do we discuss examples like the Ravi Zacharias sexual assaults that have come to light? We even discuss First Baptist Church - Church in Hammond, Indianna, and ask where is Pastor Jack Schaap now that Pastor Jack has been released? On today's round table discussion, we have Joshua Noel (a charismatic Lutheran), TJ Blackwell (Pentecostal), https://player.captivate.fm/collection/1f36c928-8803-4706-b7fa-7387904ebee2 (Rev Steve Lanclos) (Anglican), https://player.captivate.fm/episode/5bfcc4eb-4349-476d-a206-c10213863b4d (Christian Ashley) (Baptist), https://player.captivate.fm/collection/6f47f206-1702-46ec-98cf-05061a529ca6 (Joe Dea) (Home Church), https://player.captivate.fm/collection/06b0d5e9-8074-4239-b6db-ead47870ab88 (Brandon Knight) (Nondenominational), and https://player.captivate.fm/collection/cb84497a-984e-4c5b-ad9c-4b67b470f1fd (Father Jonathan Resmini) (Orthodox). . Adam Schaeuble, aka The PHD (previously heavy dude), is the host of the top ranked fitness podcast 'The Million Pound Mission'. He reached a point in his life where he weighed 327 pounds and was already having weight related health issues in his late twenties. He decided to overhaul his lifestyle and his fitness and ended up losing over 100 pounds. Feeling inspired, he took what he learned from his own transformation journey and created a bootcamp program that produced over 35,000 pounds of results in his home town of Bloomington, Indianna. Now Adam has set his sights on inspiring over one million pounds of healthy results through his podcast, online academy, and online bootcamp program. Contact Info Website: www.MillionPoundMission.com Blog: Podcast: The Million Pound Mission Most Influential Person Gary Keller, author of the book, The One Thing Effect on Emotions I think it's helped me really deal with anxiety a lot. I've been in the hospital a few times from entrepreneur itis, working too many hours and you know, anxiety attacks, and taking on too much. So being mindful, being present in the moment has allowed me to have like a filter to sort out what is actually happening and what do I actually need to be worrying about? Thoughts on Breathing Breathing. I follow a meditation practice that's involved with breathing. Just being able to have control of whether it's box breathing or just doing kind of a silent meditative practice where I'm just focusing on the breath. I love just doing breathing where I breathe in, count one, breathe out, count to 10 and then cycle through that a few times. And it's just a nice little reset where I can actually do that in between tasks if I'm kind of switching modes from, okay, we do this interview and now I have to do some client calls. I'll do a little bit. I use that to kind of pause and breathe. Suggested Resources Book: Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown App: Headspace Bullying Story Well, I think there's a unique thing that happens when somebody loses a lot of weight and we kind of bully ourselves a little bit. Like there's a moment where we beat ourselves up. We lose that confidence. And like I said, we assume that other people are making fun of us so people will beat themselves up a lot along the journey about not being there yet. Maybe they've lost 60 or 70 pounds, but their goal is 80, 90 pounds and they beat themselves up about not being there yet. They're not being present. They're not realizing like, hey, I've accomplished something amazing and be proud of that. So it's probably not the traditional bullying answer that you get, but I feel like, let's start with us. Like don't beat our selves up. Don't be hard on our own self, especially when we're accomplishing amazing things, you know? Be Proud of yourself. There's a coach I've got named Dan Sullivan; he talks about something called the gap and the gain. He says you have to always measure from where you started. That's the gain. Don't measure the gap between where we are now to where we want to get to be because that's like the horizon line and getting there never happens because what happens when we hit our 50 pound goal. Okay, I want 60. Okay, I hit that. Okay. I want 70. If people don't take that moment to breathe and be present and realize that, you know what, that's pretty damn awesome. And like, we all do this, whether it's with weight loss, with anything. I do my affirmations, I still do my lifestyle rehabilitation. I still do it all and I just accomplished another major goal. I paid off my mortgage and I'm mortgage free. I'm 100 percent debt free and I took a few days. I just like, I just, I wasn't going to set the new goal, I wasn't going to set the next thing. I just sat down and just kind of walked around my house and I'm like, this is mine. I don't have to worry about that debt anymore. I can take that and invest in my retirement. I just really got into the moment, celebrated that with my kids, my family, and we talked about it. My son's seven. I talked to him, like I'm going to help, you know, put more money towards their college, he doesn't understand any of that, but I just communicated it to him, but just kind of being in that moment, being present, being mindful and being proud.

The consensus in the feedback this week on the Probst penalty for rice-gate was consistent. They really blew this opportunity to reaffirm the title of the show and ensured that we will likely see future castaways treating this like Let's Make a Deal instead of Survivor when it comes to recovering from bad decisions. There were various predictions for who will end up in the controlling alliance after the merge, but most agree that Josh and Reed are in trouble. For each episode, we provide 3 podcasts: an episode recap, an interview with the castoff, and a chance for Survivor fans like yourself to sound off on what you saw and how you think the castaways are fairing in the game. Twelve fans shared their thoughts on episode 6 and predictions for what we'll see next. We want to thank and acknowledge everyone who contributed to another great Listener Feedback show.
