Confessions of a Bikini Pro

Today I speak with IFBB Pro Kristen Reilly. She was born and raised in Northern New Jersey and grew up with a super active/athletic background. She played almost every sport you can think of, but never really fell in love with anything except for horseback riding. Before her fitness/bodybuilding career, she poured her heart and soul into horses and competing in the show jumping arena. This was her life from the age of 7-28. She came to a point in life where she had to put riding on hold and that is when she decided to put all her energy into fitness and bodybuilding.    She started lifting weights around 2013 and began competing in 2018 when she won the overall at her first show. She fell in love with the sport after that and eventually went on to compete at the national level, earning her Pro card in 2022 at NPC Universe.   She was married at a young age and it was an extremely toxic relationship. Confessions of a Bikini Pro

Today I speak with IFBB Pro Erin Kamm. She has been into fitness since an early age, having swam varsity swimming throughout Middle/High School; however, much of her life was overshadowed by a severe eating disorder that totally consumed her for over 15 years. But that all changed when she started weight training in 2015. What began simply as the desire to stay “skinny” and get abs, quickly turned into a true love for fitness and bodybuilding. Erin stepped on the NPC stage for the first time in the fall of 2016. She since competed in 10 regional shows and 8 national shows, before earning her IFBB Pro card at NPC Universe in 2022. Through bodybuilding, Erin has not only achieved ED recovery, but also discovered her love of competing and her passion and desire to inspire and help others overcome their own struggles and achieve their own health/fitness goals. She strives to teach her clients the importance of focusing on sustainability and balance to ensure that they can not only achieve their goals, but maintain them long term as well. Health is a top priority for Erin and her clients- not only physical health, but mental and emotional health as well. Topics covered include: -history of eating disorder -anxiety and depression -the journey to Pro -coaching with Fit Body Fusion -seeing bodybuilding as a privilege  -gaining weight in the off season -dealing with grief CONNECT WITH CELESTE: Website: http://www.celestial.fit Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/celestial_fit/ All Links: http://www.celestial.fit/links.html CONNECT WITH ERIN: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/erinkamm_ifbbpro/ TIME STAMPS 1:00 introduction 3:50 seeing bodybuilding as a privilege 7:09 mistakes to avoid and finding what works for you 16:40 taking time off to improve 24:40 committing to a season of growth and shifting mindset 29:20 approach to coaching 36:45 deciding to work with Fit Body Fusion 42:10 dealing with imposter syndrome 47:09 overcoming an eating disorder and earning her Pro card 59:20 her history with ED 67:50 food choices to manage hunger and digestion 73:10 goals for the future and travel tips 81:50 advice for competitors CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE FOOD RELATIONSHIP COACHING SERIES CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE POST SHOW BLUES COACHING SERIES LEARN MORE AND APPLY FOR MY 5 WEEK FOOD RELATIONSHIP HEALING & DISCOVERY COACHING PROGRAM FOR OTHER FREE RESOURCES, LIVE EVENTS, AND WAYS TO WORK WITH CELESTE CLICK HERE

Some say that to be successful in the sport, you have to eat, sleep, and breathe competing. While this approach will produce results, you can also be successful if competing is your hobby that doesn't consume every aspect of your life. Allex Granger is an example of just that. Allex's lifelong goal of becoming an IFBB Bikini professional was inspired by her mom, who went pro as an NGA bodybuilder. Allex began her competitive journey in 2019 and went pro at NPC Universe in July 2021. She accomplished her goal while also being a posing coach, NPC judge, and nurse practitioner. I am excited for you to hear her story and learn how she handles the mental struggles that come with competing, why she became an NPC judge, and why she chose to have two coaches instead of one.   Here's what you'll hear: [5:00] Bikini Hack [12:30] How did your fitness journey begin? [14:30] In what ways has your mom influenced your journey? [17:30] Are there any differences between what your mom did while competing to what we do now? [18:00] Why did you decide to do the NPC instead of the NGA? [19:30] Why do you think it was so important to you to turn pro? [21:00] You were so close to getting your pro card several times before you actually got it. What was that experience like? [26:30] How did you know it was okay to keep pushing instead of taking a break? [28:00] What did you eat on your refuel day to get in 600g of carbs? [29:00] What was the headrest part about your improvement season before turning pro? [30:30] What do you think was the most helpful for your mindset when dealing with weight gain? [36:30] What are ways that you like to play hard after working hard? [45:00] How did you get started as an NPC judge? [47:30] How do you feel that being a judge has helped you as a competitor? [52:00] What was your experience like going straight into the Republic of Texas after getting your pro card? [55:00] Why do you think you went through mental struggles after getting your pro card? [57:00] What was your feedback after your pro debut and what was different for you this year as you did a full season? [58:30] How did it feel to finally be on the pro stage and doing the pro things? [1:01:00] How did it feel getting the feedback that you're not lean enough after being told you were too lean last year? [1:04:00] What do you plan on doing differently during your break in order to bring a better physique when you return? [1:05:30] How has it worked for you to have a prep coach and a programming coach? [1:08:30] What are you looking forward to this year? We also discuss (trainer to trainer) common setbacks with people who want to get into this sport as well as seasoned veterans that change coaches to try a new approach.   Social media has provided a way for thin skinned people to dodge constructive criticism, convincing themselves they are ready for something that still requires more work, and has made being unhealthy the new normal. Today, I speak with IFBB Pro Allex Granger, a family nurse practitioner who lives in North Carolina. She began competing in 2019 and won her Pro Card at NPC Universe in 2021. Allex shares her early struggles about gaining weight and then how her classmates treated her when she actually did gain weight. When she learned about tracking macros, it helped her understand that one day or one meal of overeating wouldn't derail her progress. When she realized it wan't all-or-nothing, she was able to find balance and comfort in her body. As a nurse practitioner, it's also helped her realize many of her patients don't understand the nutritional benefits of food. She's learned to honor her hunger cues and cravings while still staying on track through counting macros.   Allex shares how she has gained perspective of what she wants and doesn't want for her body in every season. She speaks of the importance of shifting perspective to goals outside of her physique during improvement season. In working with her coaches, she tells the importance about giving detailed check-ins to be able to analyze the data to get the best results.   Currently, Allex is dealing with fractures in her feet after two 65lb dumbbells fell on her feet! She has had to modify her training because of this but is keeping a good attitude. After winning her Pro card, Allex experienced serious post-show blues. She almost felt like she didn't even deserve her Pro card because she was so stressed. She had to shift her focus to relieve some of her stress and was able to still make her Pro debut. Allex has such a great story. I can't wait for your to hear it! She earned her pro car ant NPC Universe and works as an online lifestyle and posing coach. Kathy played Division III softball during college which always put exercise and competition in her forefront. Her sophomore year of college, she began to struggle with disorder eating and overexercising. After her coach approached her about it, she decided she needed to step away from softball to focus on her studies and having a healthy body. She fell in love with the weight room as she started to see how food fail her body to grow stronger.   Kathy began to use counting macros to experiment with what foods fuel her body best. Counting macros gave her the freedom and structure to really learn how different foods affected her and how she could best eat for success, mentally, physically, and emotionally. She believes it is important to understand why your are feeling certain feelings, and what they can lead to. Bodybuilding isn't the healthiest sport, so understanding different feelings can lead to peace throughout he process.   Kathy shares what it's like to work as a physicians assistant, specializing in surgery. She grew up in Hawaii and struggled with emotional eating. Once moving to California for college, she was able to overcome her poor relationship with food once she had easy access to a gym. When she discovered boxing, she found running and really came into her own as an athlete. She believes finding a form of exercise you truly enjoy is the key to long-term success.   Because there is so much information out there, it can be hard for someone to know where to begin their fitness journey. That's why Natasha and her husband have started a lifestyle coaching business to help people integrate fitness in their lives without going to extremes. Natasha talks about the structure that is required to compete with a young son and how he is invested in it, as well. He is her biggest fan! Even though bodybuilding can be a selfish sport, she doesn't want him to feel like he is coming second to competing.   Natasha speaks to how she competed in Wellness and Bikini in the same show and decided to stick with Bikini after winning the overall. In this week's episode, host Celeste Rains-Turk has the pleasure of speaking with Chelsea Stonestreet, a 29 year old business development director for Spooner physical therapy and a realtor in Arizona who also provides online lifestyle coaching. who used to be a competitive boxer before having her now 8 year old daughter. She started bodybuilding 3 and a half years ago and fell in love with the structure of prep as it was one thing she could control in her life on her mission to be confident in her body post baby.  Even though she didn’t love being on stage, was told she couldn’t be successful in the sport due to severe stretch marks, and getting second callouts all at her first show she decided she could do better and proved to herself she was the only one who would define her success. This sparked the next 3 years and ultimately after 12 shows a first place and pro card win at NPC Universe. This soon to be wife and step mom serves as a powerful example that anything is possible if you put in the work and never give up. Chelsea explains to Celeste about her first show-day experience and insecurities about wearing a bikini. Even though Chelsea has been successful in the IFBB division, she was once told at the amateur level that her stretch marks on her abdomen would hold her back from success.  Due to her competitive nature and desire to better herself, Chelsea dove into self-improvement eventually earning her IFBB title at NPC Universe after twelve shows. Chelsea now reflects on her past struggles and successes before stepping on stage to truly enjoy the experience. Chelsea discusses her previous passion for boxing. She states that competitive boxing and bikini bodybuilding have similarities, mostly by subjecting yourself to the judgement of hundreds of people in the crowd.  Chelsea oftentimes has to reflect on her boxing experiences to get herself calm her nerves, “You can get into a [boxing] ring and get yourself knocked out, you can throw yourself in a bikini and go on stage” Furthermore, Chelsea states her strength of digging deep and pushing further than last time allows her to shine in competition prep.   Celeste asks Chelsea why she decided to transition from boxing to bodybuilding. Chelsea believes getting punched repeatedly will affect her mental and physical long-term health. Although she has always loved the sport of bodybuilding, being a single mom made her weigh the importance of family over injury. She will occasionally “hit the bag” for stress relief and cardio during her offseason.  Celeste and Chelsea discuss her training on prep and post season. Chelsea focuses on increased calories and heavy lifting in the offseason as she is able to build muscle easily. As a lifestyle coach, she develops circuit style training and bodyweight exercises while keeping the main focus on movement.  Chelsea informs Celeste on her body improvements over the years. During her final national show, Chelsea was told she was too lean and conditioned and was able to feed herself up to the next show.  Chelsea advises listeners to find a trustworthy and quality coach that gives adequate feedback as feedback from the judges can be confusing and frustrating.  Celeste explains that if you love the sport, you will continue to pursue it despite the differing feedback of judges. Chelsea discusses how minor details matter for placement. Suit color is a priority for her coach and believes red is the best color for her overall package. Chelsea emphasizes that stage presence and overall package, to include your suit color, can be the difference between placement.  Chelsea tells Celeste she has never been told by a judge that her stretch marks affected her placement. Chelsea has been micro needling to improve the color and density of her stretch marks and has noticed great changes. Chelsea shares that both herself and Fiancé earned their IFBB pro cards at the NPC Universe! Prior to meeting her Fiancé, she accepted being a single mother. Chelesa admits to initially being scared of being a step-mother but has fallen in love with her Fiancés children over the years.  Chelsea is proud to have influence on young children and to provide siblings for her daughter. Celeste and Chelsea praise the newest Bikini Olympian and are happy to see a mother win the title. Furthermore, Chelsea values quality family bonding and makes sure to have family dinner every night without cell phones.  Finally, Chelsea tells Celeste her goals as an IFBB Pro while providing listeners and fellow competitors advice on reaching the IFBB stage. In this episode, Celeste speaks with Jennifer St Peter, an IFBB Bikini Pro, and a financial service industry career woman who also has her black belt in Krav Maga. Jennifer won her pro card and took the overall title in 2019 at Jr Nationals.  Celeste starts off the episode by asking Jennifer if there’s anything she thinks about or a ritual that she performs right before her heel hits the stage. After sharing her routine, Jennifer goes on to talk about her experience with Krav Maga, telling listeners how she got started in the sport and how long it took her to achieve her black belt. Jennifer mentions that her and her husband took on Krav Maga as another fun “fitness thing” they could do together as a way to challenge themselves. Celeste and Jennifer then discuss the discipline that comes with Krav Maga and bodybuilding and Celeste asks if the disciplines that both sports require differ or support one another.  The conversation then transitions to the Instagram page Jennifer shares with her husband, who is also a competitor. Celeste asks Jennifer to share how she and her husband met, about the nature of their relationship, and what made them decide to start and run their Instagram page together. Jenn explains that before meeting her husband she was not a someone who went to the gym and working out was not part of her regular routine. She explains how Travis, her husband, originally got her attention by challenging her to a Sudoku match and how from there the relationship blossomed into a future of exploring and growing together in new ventures, many of them being activity and fitness related.  She shares what it is like to be on prep at the same time as her husband and the dynamic their relationship takes on during that time. Celeste also asks Jennifer about how her and Travis prioritize their schedules while on prep, as they both also work full time. After discussing scheduling and priorities during prep, Celeste asks if Jennifer and Travis currently have any plans or goals outside of bodybuilding competitions to accomplish since they are now both in an improvement season.  While on that subject, Celeste asks Jennifer about what it feels like to be in her first long off season after being in prep or competition mode for the last three years. Jennifer talks about how she sees the current situation with Covid as a blessing in disguise, forcing her to give her body the rest it needed after being on a regimented training schedule for so long.  Jennifer shares some of her struggles and challenges she faced while prepping during Covid and what it took to finally get her to the stage. She also mentions how she and Travis are experimenting with taking a macro approach to their diet for the first time as opposed to their preferred meal plan approach. Celeste then refers back to Jennifer’s mentioning of an injury she sustained while being in prep, asking her to share more details about the injury; how it happened, what she was doing, and how she adjusted her prep strategy accordingly.  Next, Celeste asks Jennifer about her current goals she’s focusing on this improvement season in regards to improving the physique she’ll bring to the stage next season. After sharing where she will be focusing her attention in her training, Jennifer talks about her posing. She shares the feedback she received and where and how she will be adjusting her presentation.  Jennifer talks about her experiences with her posing coach and what she has learned from working with her. Celeste acknowledges that Jennifer has become a student of the sport, taking the time to study not only her feedback but also what the judges are rewarding and how she can apply that to her personal stage presentation. Celeste asks Jennifer about the biggest differences she’s noticed in terms of conditioning and physiques as she made the transition from the NPC to the IFBB stages.  Next, Celeste asks Jennifer about her training and has her share her favorite exercises for glutes, hamstrings, and shoulders. Aside from training, Celeste circles back to the topic of diet and nutrition, asking Jennifer how she hopes and plans to enjoy the holiday season now that she is using a macro approach. Jennifers mentions the need for a mental, and physical, reset and how she will implement that in regards to nutrition during the holidays.  Jennifer then gets the opportunity to share how she became affiliated with the Competitors Cookie Co. She talks about her love for cookies, how she started working with them and how she was able to create her own cookie. Jenn shares the fun yet difficult decisions she has to make when deciding which flavors and combinations she wants to include in her personal cookie.  After discussing the art of cookie creating, Celeste asks Jennifer about her journey mentally and emotionally through her varying placings on the national stage after having been a top placing competitor at the regional level. Jennifer touches on her experience at NPC Universe and how she saw her lower placing as an opportunity to grow and better herself as opposed to letting it defeat her. She then walks us through her experiences regarding the feedback and adjustments to her training and physique she made to try to satisfy what she thought the judges wanted to see, yet how ultimately, she realized she needed to bring the physique that she personally was happiest with presenting.  Jennifer explains how she met and ended up working with her current coach, Casey, of Team Boss Bodies, and the plan they created together to help Jennifer reach her goal of becoming a pro. Jennifer shares her biggest takeaways from all her national show experiences, discussing her mentality going into each show and if her thoughts and expectations changed from show to show. After sharing her mindset approach to her national competitions, Celeste asks Jennifer to share her best advice for the first time competitor as well as the girls on their road to pro.  In this week’s episode, host Celeste Rains-Turk sits down with IFBB Bikini Pro and Coach Jessica Dolias. As a certified holistic nutritionist, Jessica shares insight on how holistic nutrition has helped her own mindset and relationship with food and how she passes this insight on to her own clients. Jessica stresses the importance of eating foods that make you feel whole, both mentally and physically, instead of cutting things out of your diet. As Jessica shares how her interest in holistic nutrition began, she dives into her past with disordered eating. She talks about how the numbers she constantly chased (the scale, the macros, the calories) had negative effects on her body image and her eating style. Jessica explains about the moment she recognized that something had to change in her current lifestyle as she noticed the lifelessness in her own reflection. Jessica proudly discusses how she worked through her recovery by herself and how her mentality made a shift from focusing on eating as little as possible to instead focusing on eating healthy. Although this shift has been made, Jessica talks about how it wasn’t an instant shift. She talks about how although she has been recovered for 10 years, she still finds herself dealing with disorder thinking and shares some of her best advice to competitors who may be going through what she has in the past. As the episode progresses, Jessica talks about her career and her education. When she lost her job due to her company shutting down, Jessica decided to seize the opportunity to start her own business so she would be able to pursue her dream, training clients and becoming a coach for Bombshell Fitness. She shares how her background in dance has aided her to becoming a posing queen, with one judge giving her the feedback that when she is on stage posing, she “lights up the room”. Like many of us, Jessica has had to make adaptation in the recent months due to quarantine. She shares how her unorthodox gym has helped create a new passion and drive for the sport. While she’s squatting with tree trunks she recognized that the quarantine only reinforced her passion because although the circumstances have changed, the excitement for the sport has only grown. Finally, Jessica shares her own journey to the stage. As she fought her way to the top through 10 shows, three of which were national levels, she shares how important it was for her journey to get a “less than optimal” placing. Her 16th place at her first national show made her realize how badly she wanted to push harder to earn her pro card. She also talks about how important it was for her own journey to be involved in the industry outside of her own training and coaching. She talks about the passion she has developed for the sport in things such as working with the tanning company and expediting the stage. She shares how important it was for her to take her competing career to the next level by working behind the scenes. In this insightful and powerful episode, Jessica reinforces the importance of building a life that competing fits into and visualizing your way to success. Choosing foods based on what she likes and what will help her build the physique she wants [13:20] Recognizing the Goal Value of the Food (i.e. enjoying a part of life that isn’t focused on how it’s going to help you change) [14:14] when she realized she had “come out the other side” of the eating disorder It wasn’t instant, it took years to get to a point to where those thoughts don’t creep in and they still do try to creep in, 10 years later. It took YEARS to get to the point where she was feeling good about her eating choices. First ~3 years it was a constant battle, recovering from that on your own is so difficult You HAVE TO give yourself grace Don’t know of anyone that has recovered and has been able to instantly change their mindset about it. You have to be able to have a rational conversation with your thoughts about what you really want This is a daily, hourly, by the minute decision to change. [17:09] full recovery is possible but you have to be prepared to handle these thoughts and give yourself grace [17:43] Importance for competitors to be mindful with their relationship with food Competing is so regimented that negative relationships can creep back in There is a fine line between having a good relationship with food and competing, you have to be able to disconnect yourself from the regimen and not let it control your life YOU ARE CHOOSING TO DO THIS AND YOU HAVE CONTROL OVER IT, IT DOESN’T HAVE CONTROL OVER YOU Once you can learn what you need and are able to communicate it with your coach you’ll be able to choose your relationship with food is [20:49] reinforcing healthy behaviors and thought patterns Learning from experience, how to eat well, fuel yourself well, looking at your fitness as an overall picture as opposed to just the eating or just the training What you fuel yourself impacts everything, your emotion, your decision making, your energy You are free to be fit and free to be healthy. [23:21] don’t forget about the passion, love, fulfillment and lessons that comes with competing [23:35] being mentally prepared to commit to competing Girls have to already have a decent relationship with food, yo-yo dieters or those fresh out of an eating disorder are likely not ready for an eating disorder. Not about pushing people to the stage if they’re not ready for it. If you’re not read for it, it can be so discouraging. Best factors: You enjoy training, you are an athlete, you like competition, not seeing competing as a diet or to reach a certain weight [26:31] the journey to becoming a coach Bombshell fitness coach Started competing in 2015 doing her own prep, was inspired by the bombshell athletes. Started as an athlete after her first show, it’s a powerful sisterhood that takes an individual sport and turns it into a team thing. Visualize herself being a bombshell coach. Lost her job when company closed in 2016 so she ended up opening her own computer programming business to help pay the bills while she was starting her own personal training business, what she was doing when she turned pro Dream to turn pro and dream to work for bombshell BECAME A PRO July 2017 Started working with bombshell as a posing coach, then asked her to be a coach [31:42] Her own computer programming business Certified programmer, is a service provider for her business, program “smart home” systems and design graphics for it [33:03] degree from FIT (fashion institute technology) Moved to manhattan to earn the degree, wanted to be a professional dancer, injured herself in high school and it helped her see things she enjoyed beyond dance [35:00] does the background of dance help with bodybuilding 1000%, reason for starting competing was because she missed being on stage, when she got into weight training she was able to combine her love for the stage with the love for weight training Dance background helped a lot with posing, it’s a forte of hers because it comes naturally with her dance history. [36:59] Feedback from judges Been told her posing is great and when she’s on stage posing she “lights up the room” with it. Been working on building up legs, has built her glutes up way too much and her glutes overpower her legs and shoulders (upper body width) [38:40] one exercise for shoulders, glutes and hamstrings Shoulders: lateral raises Hamstrings: sumo deadlifts Glutes: reverse lunges, but if she was doing heavy glute training, she would pick hip thrusts [40:21] changing her diet/training to evolve with the bikini division Focuses on going heavier “old school” training for heavy compound lifts, i.e. squats, deadlifts, presses Higher reps, heavy weight Eating a lot, more food volume Everyone should have a different approach because all of our bodies are different [43:44] Prep under lockdown No access to gym, hasn’t been in five months ☹ This has been her best/favorite prep yet Training at home has allowed her to focus more Unorthodox gym Bench, dumbbell, squat racks, husband cut down some trees and she is literally squatting with tree trunks, a pulley system made with cinder blocks Reinforced her passion for the sport because she feels able to still prep for the sow under these unknown circumstances, this was a “blessing in disguise” for her competitive journey [47:57] maintaining a commitment to the sport for 5 years without wavering Loves it that much Sees her own athletes go through ups and downs, You have to power through it and it takes years to get there, before you hit your “normal”. You have to be patient with yourself because you are completely changing your lifestyle and your mind doesn’t change overnight. [51:30] Journey to IFBB pro 10 shows, 3 national shows [51:45] most memorable part of journey to IFBB pro Got 16th place in her first national show, it made her realize how much she wanted to push and had to work harder to earn that spot Developed a new approach, mindset going into next year (2017) Got overall in two prestigious NPC shows and rode that high into NPC Universe Everything felt “right”, it felt like her time [53:48] experience of winning the overall at NPC Universe Most overwhelming feeling of chills/butterflies, thinks she cried but isn’t sure When having a bad day she visualizes that experience and brings herself back there Surpassed what she dreamed of happening [55:29] “Leveling Up”, what her new goal/accomplishment is Placing at a pro show, earn points Make it to Olympia (I don’t care how long it takes I want to make it happen) [56:23] support of her husband in competing [57:20] using shows as a reason to travel together [58:20] Pets and easing into the farm life Importance of Food Relationship Making Dreams Reality Ways to get Involved in the Industry [59:37] and the impact in the experience as a competitor and coach Work with tanning company, expedite the stage, takes it to the next level to be behind the scenes as well as on the stage [1:01:34] Best advice for one who isn’t competing but thinking about it and road to pro Never competed: look into getting a coach who is involved in the industry and understands it. They’ll help you prep better and if they understand the industry they’ll know what the industry is looking for Looking to go pro: keep going, if it means that much to you, do not give up, don’t live or die by the win of each show.

Listen as Calysta opens up about some of the painful things she rarely talks about that has helped her to see that there is so much more to life than bodybuilding and the pains of bodybuilding don't stack up to other pains in this world, and how she has stopped giving a fuck about what other people think of her and has paved her own way because of it. Calysta talks to us about what the process to becoming a pro was like for her after winning an overall at a regional show to then placing dead last and not even placing at all at more national shows to finally get third and then onto an Overall Win at Universe.  We even get into weird things and things like what it is like for her being a coach while she preps others, working long hours as a nurse, not bullshitting people when they ask questions, and why she relies mostly on whole foods and stays away from whey protein products.  She tells us what she wants to be known for in this life and gives some incredible advice that is sure to light a fire in you everytime you hear it. Today, we get to shift gear a little bit and focus on something different – judging. When you hit the stage in your best competitive self – probably chasing after the first call out –  you're in a competition. That means a judge gets to evaluate and score how well you have performed amongst a group of equally competitive girls.    That said, some competitors are clueless how the judging process works, to an extent they believe the process bristles with politics and that it's not genuine. So how does the judging process look like and how are your points accumulated? And do politics actually corrupt the process? With us is Robyn Maher to demystify the judging and scoring system.    Robyn Maher is an accomplished woman who wears many titles. She is an IFBB Pro, personal trainer, posing coach and nutritionist. Robyn begun competing in 2012 and she won her pro card three years later at NPC Universe in New Jersey. The 44-year-old and a mother of three is also an unbiased NPC judge, a position that she well deserves. Robyn is a Promoter of IFBB/NPC Salt City Showdown, a show she has triumphantly competed in. She loves traveling and having fun with friends.    Today's episode is unique. We are going to learn all about judging - exactly what the judges are looking for in bikini and how to bring your absolute best package on stage. You're will also learn about how the judges judge you as a competitor and how the point system works. Finally, Robyn gives more insight into a new wellness category that everyone wants more information about.    Stay tuned.    Takeaways Cultivate a healthy mindset Believe in yourself  You got to hold it together Be respectful  Be in control of your mental place Don't forget to bring your confidence on stage Your state presentation is quite important If you're determined, you can do it Be comfortable in your own skin Posing is very vital Educate yourself and do your research on the sport The more you learn the better experience will have, and the more you'll enjoy the sport     Important Questions   [00:09:00] How many years have you been competing?
