Welcome to Season 3 of the Texthelp Talks podcast. This season, we're focusing on a topic that is right at the heart of what we do here at Texthelp, and that's accessibility. In this episode, host Rachel Kruzel is joined by Texthelp's Chief Technology Officer, Ryan Graham. Last time Ryan was on the podcast he took us on a journey through the history of digital inclusion, from the early days of computing to the development of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Ryan returns to look at how far we've come since those guidelines where established, and the impact the present version (WCAG 3) is having on web accessibility. Plus, he'll give a forecast of what lies ahead, with technologies like artificial intelligence presenting exciting opportunities for shaping a more accessible future.

The end of the COVID-19 pandemic seemed to be on the horizon until the Delta variant showed up, bringing with it the potential to shake up the deals market once again. As the end of the year approaches, dealmakers have to navigate the ongoing unknowns of the pandemic along with the other factors that are tightening the pressure valve on M&A this year. “I suspect this year is going to be just as tight [as last year], if not tighter,” Rebecca Brophy says on this episode of Deal by Deal, talking about the haste at which dealmakers will need to get things closed while operating under a breakneck volume of deals. Also on this episode, hear from DuneGlass' Ryan Graham and Daniel Hosler about why they made the switch to independent sponsorship from private equity: “We tried to build something a little more founder-centric,” Ryan says. With their focus on healthcare services and medical practices, Ryan and Daniel share their thoughts on healthcare investment opportunities. Ryan Graham, Chair of the Libertarian Party of Georgia joined the gang tonight, so we talked a little about ballot access, and what the LP hopes to accomplish in Georgia. We then moved on to the biggest issue facing our country right now, the ongoing foreign policy and humanitarian disaster unfolding in Afghanistan. We looked at some local reactions from various candidates running for office in our state. The ongoing debate over masks was discussed. As you know Governor Kemp has never issued a statewide mask mandate and doesn't appear likely to do so now. One State Representative took the opportunity to accuse him of murder - we react. Georgia has finally received its 2020 census data, and it reveals some interesting things and necessitates a response from the Republican Party. Will they rise to meet the challenge? Thursday on Political Rewind: Could Georgia be in for two Senate runoff elections? Political analysts have longed considered an eventual runoff likely in the free-for-all race for the seat currently held by Gov. Kemp-appointee Sen. Kelly Loeffler. But polling now shows the race between Democrat Jon Ossoff and incumbent Republican Sen. David Perdue in a virtual tie. Support behind the Libertarian Party candidate could prevent any candidate in that race going over the 50% mark on Election Day. Our panelists included: Dr. Alan Abramowitz, professor of political science at Emory University; Ryan Graham, chairman of the Libertarian Party of Georgia; Patricia Murphy, politics reporter for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution; and Kevin Riley, the AJC's editor.
Wednesday on Political Rewind, the latest pandemic and election 2020 news in Georgia. The Trump campaign is running new television spots here in the Peach State. The focus is on the economy, and not the law and order message the president has pushed in recent weeks. And politics has harmed the reputation of the Center for Disease Control. Can the agency continue to do their work well despite the distractions of politics? Our panel included Greg Bluestein, Politics Reporter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Jackie Cushman, Author and Republican strategist, Howard Franklin, Democratic consultant and managing partner at Ohio River South and Ryan Graham, Chairman of the Georgia Libertarian Party.
Seth Benton, Chair of the Libertarian Party of Habersham County, joins Ryan Graham to discuss municipal news in Demorest relating to the firing of their chief of police by the city manager. If you enjoyed the show, please rate and review! Click thumbnail for larger view.National recap here. Quote:"In the men's race, national record holders Amherst established a very solid lead with 800 meters to go on the anchor leg. Behind them, something that would have qualified as "strange" if not for the women's 5k was playing out. Whitewater dropped the baton very early in the race and fell about 150 meters behind. Their anchor leg, Dawson Miller, was running in lane 2 so as to avoid interfering with the actual race. But late in the leaders' leg, Miller ended up with the chase pack about ten meters–in his case, 210 meters–behind Amherst. He appeared to say something to Eau Claire's Josh Thorson, tucked into the rail, and Miller and Thorson actually caught Amherst anchor Greg Turissini. Once the gap was closed, Thorson powered away from the field and beat Amherst by five seconds, 9:54-9:59. La Crosse slipped in for second and the Lord Jeffs grabbed third. (That's much better than their tenth place finish at nationals the last time they set the DMR national record in the regular season) Whitewater was later disqualified for Miller's pacing."
