Next, our great friend Tim Grierson was kind enough to step in for a review of "Kraven the Hunter" while Alonso is out of town. An incredible cast including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Russell Crowe, Ariana DeBose, Alessandro Nivola and Christopher Abbott goes to waste in this extremely silly thriller. Supposedly this is the end of the Sony Spider-Man Universe, and if it's not, it should be. In theaters now. Finally, we catch up with "The Order," based on the true story of a group of white supremacists who robbed banks to fuel their militia in the 1980s Pacific Northwest. In dusverre zelfs dat we een hele Nerd Culture Premium hebben toegewijd aan super hero animatie sinds het streaming tijdperk. We lopen langs de meest populaire streamingdiensten om te kijken wie nu de hardste super hero animatie heeft en welke je dan ook absoluut moet gaan kijken. Ondertussen blijven we ons ook vermaken met X-Men '97 want episode 3 introduceerde Mister Sinister met een heel scala aan Studio Ghibli body horror stuff, kijken dus! Seth Rogen begint een Venom animatie film / series met Sony Ook Seth Rogen lijkt opnieuw een sprongetje te mogen gaan wagen in het superhero animatie genre. Waar hij niet al te lang geleden nog de Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles heeft mogen rebooten met Mutant Mayhem, lijkt hij nu zijn pijlen gericht te hebben op Venom. Rogen zou in samenwerking met Sony en de Sony Spider-Man Universe dit op poten gaan zetten, simpelweg omdat hij aan de hand van werken bij Marvel Studios te weinig creatieve vrijheid zou hebben om te kunnen maken wat ie wil maken. Weet ie de sterke lijn van Sony's Across the Spider-Verse door te zetten of gaat het een Morbius / Madame Webb worden? We houden het in de gaten! Aaron Taylor-Johnson de nieuwe James Bond? Er lijkt witte rook uit het schoorsteentje bij de Vaticaan te komen. Er is geen nieuwe Paus geselecteerd, maar we lijken wel onze nieuwe James Bond te hebben gevonden. Waar Pierce Brosnan vorige week nog Cillian Murphy naar voren schoof, steekt ie deze week flink wat veren in de reet van Aaron Taylor-Johnson. De geruchten gingen al langer dat ze dit keer een wat jongere versie van James Bond zouden willen hebben en Taylor-Johnson lijkt die schoenen te gaan vullen. De Britse acteur houdt zijn lippen nog stijf op elkaar, dus who knows? Het is zondag en dan weet je dat je favoriete nerds uit de multiverse weer een hagelnieuwe aflevering van Nerd Culture voor je hebben klaarstaan. Vandaag hebben we reviews van onder andere Ferrari en Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Verder checken we trailers van Roadhouse, Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3 en Avatar: The Last Airbender. Jason Aaron reboot Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles De Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles krijgen opnieuw een reboot voor de kiezen. Dit keer niet op het grote scherm, maar het medium waar het allemaal begon: comics. IDW heeft al jaren een ijzersterke TMNT reeks lopen die het zowel kritisch als commercieel goed heeft gedaan, maar na 150 issues komt er een soft reboot aan. De nieuwe reeks wordt nu onder handen genomen door comic book veteraan Jason Aaron met vier verschillende artists aan boord. Wij kijken in elk geval reikhalzend uit naar deze nieuwe release, maar eerst wacht ons een nieuwe uitgave van The Last Ronin! Paramount luisterde naar alle feedback voor Halo Season 2 Pablo Schreiber, beter bekend als de Master Chief uit de Halo serie, deed de afgelopen week een perstour om het nieuwe seizoen van Halo te promoten. De acteur deed daarbij ook een boekje open over het eerste seizoen waar hij laat weten dat hij er alles aan heeft gedaan om de beruchte sexscene eruit te laten halen, de schrijvers wilden echter niet luisterne en dus stond hij er als acteur maar eenzaampjes voor. Ondanks het feit dat het eerste seizoen van Halo best wel een succes was, kreeg de show toch behoorlijk wat kritiek te voorduren. Schreiber laat weten dat er goed naar de feedback is geluisterd en hij vraagt fans dan ook om terug te keren en het tweede seizoen te beoordelen op wat het is. Alle Spider-Man referenties uit Madame Web gesloopt Madame Web lijkt regelrecht op een absolute box office flop af te stormen. De zoveelste middelmatige Sony Spider-Man Universe film lijkt op weinig enthousiasme te kunnen rekenen. Dat lijken ze zich bij Sony (en misschien ook wel Disney) waarschijnlijk ook wel gerealiseed. De studio heeft daarom tijdens de reshoots van Madame Web alle referenties naar Tom Holland's en Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man laten verwijderen. De officiele reden is dat de timelines van de karakters niet matchten, maar wij vermoeden dat het meer gaat om het niet nog meer beschadigen van het Spider-Man merk na het geflopte Morbius en de Kraven film waar niemand enthousiast voor is.
