Steven LaMorte not only succeeded in turning a famous holiday tale into a Hallmark-style slasher, but he brought his indie horror film into theaters nationwide! Tune in to hear all about making “The Mean One,” transforming David Howard Thornton (Art the Clown in the “Terrifier” movies) into another iconic villain, and his thoughts on where he would/could take a sequel.
You're a mean one Mister Grinch. And we're gonna be mean right back. The Grinch is a Christmas classic but does this live action adaptation hold a candle to Seuss's original? Or will we just toss this one right off Mount Crumpet?
Happy Holidays as we land in Whoville to talk about The Grinch!! In this episode we focus the 2018 animated adaptiation from Illumination! We include aspects of the 1966 an 2000 versions to be inclusive of their genius! We are joined by Stanford professor and host of Know What You See podcaset, Dr. Brian Lowery for this epsiode! We discuss PTSD and the situational triggers that can present around this time of year. Be forewarned, we may get a little Grinchy in this episode! So sit down and join us as we ask the question: was the Grinch's heart really 2 sizes too small??
Oh the weather outside is frightful, and the podcast is surely ending, but since it's not over yet, let's talk about How the Grinch Stole Christmas!Oh, didn't see ya there, you're just in time for the penultimate episode of the podcast! You may have heard that all the makeup and costume stuff Jim Carrey had to wear was uncomfortable, but I'll bet you don't know just how bad it really was (it was basically torture). Do you know where the set of Whoville was built? Or who originally recommended Jim Carrey for the role of the Grinch? Now sit back and relax by the fireplace and enjoy the podcast while it lasts because THE END IS NIGH AND THE BOYS ARE EVACUATING FRIDAY ISLAND SOON.Oh yeah, merry Christmas and happy holidays!
Season's greetings everyone! Being that it's the festive season, I figured why not share the love and make public our Patreon episode (formerly an exclusive over at https://www.patreon.com/ErrP) on the Chuck Jones animation 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas!' based on the book by Dr. Seuss. Enjoy!

The only things Everything Iconic podcaster Danny Pellegrino and Brian love more than Real Housewives are Christmas movies. Here they talk about one of Danny's unhinged favorites, the 2000 version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas starring Jim Carrey. They talk not just about the nonsense plot that was grafted onto the Dr. Seuss classic, but also all of Carrey's awful on-set antics while filming it. Of course they couldn't not talk about the Housewives, so Brian and Danny share which of the women they think are naughty and which they think are nice. If Carrey is green and living alone with a dog, you know you're in for a good time. On this weeks Winter Break we watch another holiday classic from our childhood. An elaborate production that fully realized the world of Dr. Seuss in live action & introduced many children to themes we probably weren't ready for at the time. Listen in as we discuss How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
In this live-action adaptation of the beloved children's tale by Dr. Seuss, the reclusive green Grinch (Jim Carrey) decides to ruin Christmas for the cheery citizens of Whoville. Reluctantly joined by his hapless dog, Max, the Grinch comes down from his mountaintop home and sneaks into town to swipe everything holiday-related from the Whos. However, the bitter grump finds a hitch in his plans when he encounters the endearing Cindy Lou Who (Taylor Momsen).

Never thought I'd have to run a rerun, BUT for those of you that haven't listened back this far, it's one of my favorite episodes. I'm not a holiday fan at all... I enjoy the days themselves, but all the bullsh*t that surrounds them, really wretches my bones. I hate the commercialization of it. From Best Buy and Kohls, to the damn jewelry stores that make every wife, girlfriend or side piece want something. Ughhhh.... I think we're all together in this anyway when we say bring on 2021. We're all hoping for a better year, with less covid, less election BS, and more America. Enjoy this rerun of Episode 40. I'll be back with new episodes NEXT WEEK! Until then, I wish you and your family a happy and safe Thanksgiving. And if the police knock at your door, just tell them your looting and protesting.... they let that go.

It’s a potpourri of pop culture with Katy Perry getting sued for using her own name; McDonald’s McPlant; clam-flavored candy canes; “Zumanity” dies in Vegas; Madonna’s “Immaculate Collection” turns 30; The Weeknd will play the Super Bowl; Chris Columbus isn’t happy about the “Home Alone” remake; we’re loving Hulu’s “A Teacher;” Baby Yoda eats an egg and people lose their minds; Steven Soderbergh makes a no-budget movie for HBO Max; the Grinch is coming to live TV; and, much more silly fun.

After exchanging some quick gifts, the lads share the go-to Christmas movies in their rotations during a yearly viewing, discover a Ghostbusters/Christmas Carol animated crossover and ponder who would win in a fight between famous curmudgeons Ebenezer Scrooge and The Grinch. I was going to try and write this blurb in Seussian rhyme, but there's a reason why only Dr. Seuss could do it...that s**t's hard! This week our hosts are joined by a very special guest...their good friend, Christine Chun! Christine came over to the KYD HQ for a healthy dose of wassail, gift swapping and of course, nostalgia. Christine requested to watch a childhood favorite of hers and Dan and Chrysten, being in the Christmas spirit, were happy to oblige! How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a cartoon TV special based on the popular Dr. Seuss children's book of the same name. Originally aired in 1966, it was so popular that it was aired annually at Christmastime and quickly became one of those integral pieces synonymous with the season. Our crabby protagonist, The Grinch, is hell-bent on preventing Christmas from coming to his annoyingly celebratory neighbors, The Whos. With his dog, Max, The Grinch crafts an elaborate scheme to steal all of the Christmas cheer from under their noses. But The Grinch winds up getting more than he bargained for, and learns a very important lesson about the true meaning of Christmas! Will this perennial favorite make our hosts' hearts grow three sizes? Join us and find out! And don't forget to RATE, REVIEW & SUBSCRIBE!
