Join us for this latest installment of Cape or Cap, where we dive deep into Once Upon a Deadpool!Today our "Ryan & Hugh Road Trip" cleans up its act with a visit to Once Upon A Deadpool —the edited, cleaned-up, family-friendly version of the box office success Deadpool 2 that explores Wade Wilson working alongside killers, assassins, and future men with cybernetic arms all in the hopes of building a family. We'll break down the plot, dissect the characters, and tackle the big questions: Is this good storytelling? How does it compare to other films, comics, and larger narratives? What was happening behind the scenes during the creation of this production and after its release? And as always, is this a "cape" or a "cap"? 01:13:46 Cape or Cap VerdictReferenced Materials: New Mutants (1983) #98 by Rob Liefeld and Fabian NiciezaDeadpool (2012) Vol 5 #19 by Gerry DugganHosts: Chamar Griffith and Andrew TejadaProducers: Chamar Griffith and Andrew TejadaSupport Cape or Cap by donating today. Your favorite award winning podcast is back (we're milking this for everything we can). Matt and Jay discuss the horror of going back into the office occasionally, living with teenagers, and cars stories. They hit some news, including the status of a couple of Star Wars movies that were in pre-production, Loki reactions from others (neither of us has finished it yet), a couple of stories from MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios, fancasting of Batman villains, a video on how Count Dooku was right about the Jedi, and more on the direction of the MCU. We then move to homework, including Flamin' Hot, Once Upon A Deadpool, Gen V, Shoresy, Vice, American Made, BlackkKlansman, and Becky. This week's featured beer was Perennial Artisan Ale's Sump Coffee Stout. The featured music was "Can You See Me?" from Catholic Guilt. You can find them at: Website | Facebook | Instagram | Twitter The intro music was The Mad Dog Remix of The Other Side by the Red Hot Chili Peppers; it was created by Madelyn Tierney. The Princess Bride is a master piece that lives on throughout the ages and continues to be one of the most iconic films in Hollywoods History. Even Deadpool stole the plot for their raid PG 13 version of their film "Once Upon A Deadpool." The Reason is unknown but fans across the world have a pretty good Idea of why this film has touched the hearts of so many. Straight out of Peter Falks mouth as his character the Grandfather as he's the one reading the Story to a young sick Fred Savage; this story has everything! Grandson: Has it got any sports in it? Grandfather: Are you kidding? Fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles! Grandson: Doesn't sound too bad. I'll try and stay awake. Grandfather: [sarcastically] Oh, well, thank you. That's very kind of you. Your vote of confidence is overwhelming. As a child to an adult this films continues to hold a spot in our hearts as we continue to quote and reenact our favorite scenes. "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." "Anybody want a peanut?" "Inconceivable!" Come relive the wonders of this master piece and fall back into a Nostalgic Slumber of memories as The Banter Bros. Reminisce and discuss The Princess Bride in which they will never be able to do enough justice for this film. We Thank You and as Always "As You Wish" Where To Find Us: https://linktr.ee/BanterBros

It's Christmas time, and because we've been good little mutants this year, Santa Fox has gifted us with...a re-edited Deadpool movie? Well, okay, we'll take it. Or, at least, Joe will, as he checked out the new PG-13 version of this year's sequel, ONCE UPON A DEADPOOL. Is it worth the revisit? Listen on to hear his thoughts. But first, we discuss which mutant might make for a good Academy Awards host, and then get into the holiday spirit with a special extended edition of "Mutant Match-Up," in which we pit various X-Men characters against each other and decide which would be best at wrapping gifts, be most likely to go Christmas caroling, would be the biggest Grinch during the season, and more. In this episode, we review the 2010 conclusion to the epic trilogy of X-Men crossover events that started with "Messiah Complex" and continued with "Messiah War." In "Second Coming," Cable and a now teenage Hope Summers have finally returned from their time-hopping adventures, and Bastion and his cabal of resurrected X-villains are intent on killing Hope, and with her the potential future of the now extremely dwindling mutant race. With their very existence on the line in a way they have never experienced before, the X-teams are forced to turn to a more militant approach in order to fight back, as Hope wrestles with her status of would-be mutant messiah, in one of the most action-packed X-events of all time. How does the crossover hold up, eight years later? We share our thoughts. Also, we discuss what it might mean that MCU mastermind Kevin Feige apparently had script input on X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX, the importance of DEADPOOL 2's Grammy nomination, and Joe ponders whether or not to see ONCE UPON A DEADPOOL. All this, and more! Contact Days of Future Podcast at: facebook.com/daysoffuturepodcast daysoffuturepodcast@gmail.com Twitter: @dofpodcast

This week the boys have a guest in the studio, and it is none other than Idol Mind, AKA Gaz. They begin the conversation with questions as they always do.-The first is a doozy - Which cartoon character do you either look like, OR resemble most in your personality, lots of air quotes are used and Luke flirts with the guest.-A listener from when they were trapped on a deserted Island asks them what their favourite seaweed is and another listener asks them if they ever played video games with their parents. One of their Dads turns out to be a time traveller.-Do they like crumpets? Who could eat the hottest chilli? Two very divisive questions, but one is unanimous.-When do they think they should hear Christmas music? Ron is shocked that he's not the biggest Scrooge in the room.-No Nut November is discussed.-If they could be an extra in ANY movie, what would it be? Luke is forced to go first on this one.-They then close down the questions and open up some trailers, three in fact. The first is Aquaman, the second Once upon a Deadpool, which causes Ron to flirt with the guest, and the third, The Lion King remake.-Ron shows his fear of ‘The Beehive’.-They then talk about the lengthy title of the Birds of Prey movie and it's far away release date. Who guessed that they'd try and decide on a porn parody title for it? You? Liar...-What have the crew been watching? R.I.P. Stan Lee (December 28th, 1922 - November 12th, 2018) Today's podcast started off like a normal podcast but then about 10 minutes into recording this issue news broke regarding the passing of Stan Lee. In that moment, we try our best to process our emotions and take a look at the lasting ripple effects that the legendary comicbook creator left behind. Stan Lee created characters like Spider-Man, the X-Men, The Fantastic Four, the Incredible Hulk, and many many more, all of which continue to live on in someway in today's pop culture world. Honestly, we wouldn't be doing this podcast right now if Stan Lee hadn't created the Marvel universe all those years ago. We're extremely grateful for what he's done and we will never forget the lasting legacy that Stan Lee left behind. How can we forget? Listen as we work through our shock and emotions of losing the influential creator of Marvel. We also look back at some of our favorite Stan Lee cameos and the influence he's had over the current golden age of comicbook movies. Plus we discuss Once Upon A Deadpool, the Toy Story 4 teaser trailer, the Detective Pikachu trailer, the Mowgli trailer, and we have another edition of David Does Comics with David Ramon. This week we are talking Breaking Bad gets a film, Rick Grimes gets 3, Once Upon A Deadpool hits theaters in December, Pacific Rim and Altered Carbon coming to Netflix, Loki TV confirmed, while Scarlet Witch may yet be a the mutant catalyzed, Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor, and the Mandalorian may have Apollo Creed joins the cast.
On this episode, we discuss the potential mutant influence on Disney's upcoming streaming service. As it officially gains a name (Disney+), and starts to solidify its programming line-up, we discuss what Disney's upcoming access to the X-Men might mean for the service, and pitch the X-verse shows we'd like to see joining the likes of THE MANDALORIAN and LOKI. Which X-books would we like to see adapted? What Fox-verse characters do we feel might survive the merger and benefit from a streaming show? And how might Disney+ best be used to introduce fans to the MCU version of Marvel's Merry Mutants? We answer all this, and more! Plus, a question about the holiday movie status of THE PRINCESS BRIDE (spurred on by Fred Savage's cameo in the upcoming ONCE UPON A DEADPOOL) leads to an incredibly contentious debate about whether or not DIE HARD is a Christmas movie. And, hey, DIE HARD is a Fox property, so it's KINDA relevant! Contact Days of Future Podcast at: facebook.com/daysoffuturepodcast daysoffuturepodcast@gmail.com Twitter: @dofpodcast
