— Yoga is the antidote to a life that feels like it is spinning out of control, a body that is in pain, a mind that feels scattered, overwhelmed or reaches for distractions. Small changes lead to big results and compound into a reality you want to live and feel. Christie Bloom teaches simple yet effective ways to take back control of your day and your life. Applying the right techniques with consistency will change your life and, in less time, than you may think! Valeria interviews Christie Bloom — She is the Founder of Christie Bloom Wellness, Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher, Certified Breath Therapist, Certified HeartMath Mentor, and Raindrop Therapist. When Christie Bloom was around eight years old, she felt different. She had an urging inside her that she could live a blissful life even in the chaos. Christie believed you could get more out of life if you simply chose to. She came to learn that feeling good, happy and abundant was only accomplished when she lived in wellness and maintained her health and well-being. Christie had a whisper in her spirit that she could get what she wanted and reach her goals without actually knowing the way... She set goals for attaining things and she experimented in having what she desired through consistent thought, action and well-being. In time, she realized the joy wasn't about the stuff, it was about how it made you feel. Christie also discovered that she could choose to feel that way anytime she wanted to through simple practices of self-awareness and she lived a wealthy childhood on a pauper's pay cheque. As an adult, Christie had been sharing these mindfulness practices in several strategic ways that she invites you to participate in. Living well and living abundant is simple when you bring in a little bit of wellness every day, she will show you how. Christie Bloom offers an online and mobile Yoga Wellness experience designed to help you live your best life. She invites you to experience both virtual and in person therapies including: Yoga, Meditation, Breath Coaching, HeartMath, Mindset Coaching and more. Are you ready to live more? Feel better? You can experience the same results Christie has offered hundreds of clients. She will meet you where you're at and together we will begin your transformation. Along with many certifications, she is a 3x Yoga Studio Owner and Recipient of MindBody Online's Visionary Award 2018, a Wellness Industry Team Talent and Culture Lead, Corporate Wellness Speaker/Presenter, a Retreat Wellness Contributor, and a mother of 4. She was born and raised in Alberta, Canada and a true Canadian through and through. She is currently living in San Antonio, Texas. On May 1, 2023, Pluto stationed retrograde and will move back into the sign of Capricorn until it re-enters Aquarius again in January of 2024. Retrograde planets indicate periods of review: we move backwards to reclaim, remember, and revise the themes that the planet represents. In this case Plutonian themes include Power/power dynamics, sex, death, rebirth, money/taxes. We don't get a free pass at life. We are needed to engage our power, our genius, our particular uniqueness into the world. When this goes missing, we suffer. We experience depression, weakened life-force energy, and lack of will power. This is very human, and we all must contend with the forces inside us that may threaten our drive to thrive. This episode shines a light on why moving backwards is important, how reclaiming our power is necessary, and how we are all needed on the planet to keep things going in a good way on Earth. You can find me at www.juliabernbaum.com to learn more about Astrology readings, Life Coaching, Tarot readings, Yoga & Wellness consults. Taking time to stop and enjoy the little things in life seems like a romanticized idea that many people find just out of their grasp. Between work, home or school for some, life becomes a rushed mess of due dates, large projects, family events and money management that creeps into the already stretched minutes of free-time people seem to have for themselves. If you've needed a relaxing retreat, a new yoga studio in Idaho Falls is opening next week to provide that. “When we engage in these kinds of practices like self-care, and we take care of our body and we take care of our minds we actually increase our capacity and ability to do the things that we need to do,” said Nicole Packer, the founder of Yoga Wellness Connection in an interview with BYU-Idaho Radio. The studio employs different wellness activities including traditional yoga, and even more unique ones like sound bathing where you sit and allow different tones and sounds to relax your body and clear your mind. “Sound-bah is an experience where you sit while using pillows, props or blankets and just allow your body to rest and be as comfortable as possible … and a lot of people experience a clearing of thoughts and it can increase a sense of relaxation,” Packer said. The Yoga Wellness Connection also has a “CommUNITY 4” program that allows them to provide discounted or free memberships at the Yoga Wellness Connection to those who may have financial needs. Businesses, organizations and community members can also donate to support fellow local residents in attending the classes. Yoga Wellness Connection stated that 100% of the proceeds assist with membership costs. The grand opening ceremony is on Monday, June 20 at 451 River Pkwy, Idaho Falls ID 83402 in eagle Rock Station right across from the Falls and will feature free classes for the whole week from June 20 - 26. Driving all around town from class to class is not the only way to grow your wellness business. It's just one way. There are benefits to teaching classes. There are also cons. If you are going to teach classes online or in person it's best to understand your reasoning. Not going into it blindly thinking that's the way it should be done because it's what everyone else is doing. Take it from me. There was a time I was teaching more than 10 classes a week, while treating patients and teaching workshops and trainings on the weekends. I did it because that's what my mentors did. That's what I saw other people doing. But it was way too much. Now I teach when I want, what I want. It's possible for you too if you just evaluate how teaching fits into the big picture of your business. Because teaching is ONE facet of your business, NOT your whole business (even if you love it and do it primarily). Nisha Kunder is a Yoga & Wellness coach that customizes mindfulness practices for high performers so they can lead with more energy, patience, and compassion for everything and everyone both at home and at work. She is also the creator of The Art of Relaxation online course where she teaches the ancient yogic relaxation technique of Yoga Nidra (which is a meditation practice that is done *lying* down). Before becoming a yoga and wellness coach, Nisha used to work as a Technical Program manager at tech giants like Microsoft and Motorola. She left her unsatisfactory job to heal her health issues caused by stress. Coming from a culture that believes in curing the root cause instead of merely masking the symptom, she began her healing journey by changing her lifestyle to include more self-care, self-inquiry, and energy healing – in short, Yoga and Ayurveda. Nisha is based in Seattle, WA, and is available for speaking opportunities across the US, global and virtual summits, podcasts, and interviews. Guest Episode! Today Jessica King interviews Michelle Crittendon. Michelle is a wife, mother, and yoga teacher in Wilmington, NC. Today Michelle tells us about her yoga journey while also navigating the craziness of motherhood and business. She also shows up with us today to speak a little about the intersection of wellness with mental health and how radical acceptance has helped her to step up authentically to show up for herself and be well. Among other things, Michelle discusses the importance of seeking qualified professionals when dealing with mental health issues, the mindset she employs to navigate challenges, and what showing up for herself means. She so beautifully states, "We are often searching outside of ourselves for the next (thing), but the truth is that we are already whole and it is just turning back towards ourselves [that is needed]."

In the teeth of a year that just won't let up it's important to make sure you are looking after yourself. Rob Kelly takes a look at some new wellness strategies being employed around the world and asks for advice about what he could maybe try.
Nahid de Belgeonne, is a UK-based yoga expert, fitness studio owner and the founder of The Human Method™, which is a specialized form of yoga and movement that draws on somatic yoga, the Feldenkrais Method and more. Nahid has served as the yoga expert for Women’s Health Magazine UK and Aveda UK. Her corporate clients include L’Oreal, Mac, Estee Lauder and La Mer to name a few. I had the incredible opportunity to speak with Nahid this week – in a conversation that is practical and profound. We get to learn about her journey, development of The Human Method™, and exactly what makes it so transformative. But our conversation goes even deeper, as we explore the very notion of what it means to become human again, the signs of a “true” wellness revolution, and how self-care enables the generosity to serve others. If you have watched “The Social Dilemma” recently, then you will resonate with and understand what Nahid shares about the attack on our attention and the mental exhaustion we are facing. The power to change our habits, how we breathe, how much we move, and what we eat is in our hands though – we are at a point of realization that we can no longer put our careers at the cost of our health. You can even learn some easy hacks, for anyone tied to an office desk, on this episode.
