**5 MINUTES OF PEACE** | **Reading by Shalini** | Created by The Peace Room, BoiseIn this peaceful episode, Shalini, a technology professional and holistic wellness coach, reads *Your Journey Inward* by Swami Rama, from the book *Soul to Soul*, compiled by John Mundell. This insightful poem reminds us that true self-discovery happens through meditation—a journey beyond thoughts and emotions, where we cast aside labels and opinions imposed by others. Meditation, Swami Rama explains, allows us to transcend the world of thought, behavior, and emotion, leading to a transformation within ourselves. The journey to truth, as the poem beautifully puts it, is "from the alone to the alone." This inward journey doesn't change the universe—it changes you.Shalini shares her vision of empowering individuals through holistic wellness, weaving together global wisdom on meditation, self-care, and healing. One of the mantras of this podcast is to "Own Your Health;" while conventional modalities such as surgery are very helpful for addressing trauma, optimizing one's health requires a rigorous exploration of alternative approaches. This week's guest, Kyle Peche, demonstrates the benefits of "ripping up templates" in charting one's health journey, when the tried-and-true comes up short. After resolving his own 7 year health battle with chronic fatigue, brain fog, panic attacks, and other mysterious symptoms, Kyle developed a passion for healing others and alleviating their suffering as well. A certified Mineral-Nutritional Balancing Practitioner and founder of Jyoti Mineral Balancing, he now uses what he's learned about detoxification, mineral nutrition, hair analysis, and functional medicine to help others not only recover from mysterious ailments, but also regain an ability to “thrive” in their lives. We touch on numerous topics in this podcast, including: How Kyle's 7-year journey of disenchantment with traditional allopathic healthcare modalities and frustrating trial and error with holistic / alternative practices led him to find the effective missing link between gut healing, pathogen elimination, psychological healing, and inner work. The potential impact of increased levels of glyphosate and mercury on neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD and autism. The benefits of living a “detoxification-friendly lifestyle” in a world where the levels of metals and toxins are higher than ever before. How meditation and breathwork practices such as kapalbhati (“breath of fire”) and anulom vilom (“alternate nostril breathing”) can help reverse blocking of detoxification caused by increased stress How the work of Dr. Paul Eck, James Nestor, Joe Dispenza, Swami Rama and others influenced Kyle's journey of healing An overview of Kyle's company Jyoti Mineral Balancing (JMB). Jyoti is Sanskrit for essence and light and shining, and symbolizes Kyle's conviction that "when we purify the body and balance it and rejuvenate it, that our essence better shines through." How JMB's combination of detoxification, hair analysis, mineral nutrition, and functional medicine might help clients manage brain fog, optimize gut health, and tap into deeper meditation and states of flow. Three months after taking her first teacher training she found herself teaching 20 classes a week! A total life transformation that continued to evolve into her own style of yoga called Tantra Flow, which combines her 35 years of study in the practices and science of yogic disciplines, combining her love for asana, meditation, pranayama, mantra, Ayurveda, Buddhism, and Tantra in the living lineage of Sri Vidya, from Himalayan Institute under Swami Rama and Pandit Rajmani Tigunait. In this episode, we're talking about what makes a good yoga teacher and some of the insights Jeanne has gained through her years of practicing under the guidance of many different teachers. While the CEO of Yoga International immediately assured nervous content providers that the platform will remain editorially independent, only time will tell. What we do know is that countless print articles written by earnest yogis and thousands of hours of classes created by earnest yoga instructors will now share space with David Icke, an antisemitic conspiracy theorist who believes lizard people have coopted world governments—and that's only the start. The acquisition predicts even more brain-melting in yogaland, exposing even more vulnerable and credulous seekers to a dumpster fire of meaning dressed up in a simulation of spirituality. Leonard Perlmutter ( Ram Lev) shares how your Conscience affects your daily life in his new book Your Conscience: The Key to Unlock Limitless Wisdom and Creativity and Solve All of Life's Challenges. We as human beings choose what to say and how to act every day. We barrel ahead on a path that is easy and pleasurable. We try to avoid pain and seek immediate results and gratification—even though some part of our mind throws up red flags as we make our choices. Those red flags (and the green ones, too) come from our Conscience, which inevitably proves to be correct. But, frequently, we are not aware of the gentle nudge or even the clear warning from the quiet voice of the Conscience because we are not tuned in. As a result, life is filled with misery and suffering, financial struggles, illness, depression, dissatisfaction, addiction, destructive habits and behaviors, distrust of everything, and broken relationships. Your Conscience: The Key to Unlock Limitless Wisdom and Creativity and Solve All of Life's Challenges show you how to listen for the innate Universal wisdom that is available to you in every moment of your life and how to curb your tendency to ignore or overrule it. Perlmutter (Ram Lev) shows how the Four Functions of the Mindpower the body, guided by your Super Conscious Wisdom, are directly connected to an infinite source of knowledge and wisdom. He first explains the role of these functions (Unconscious, Senses/Logic, Ego and the Conscience) and how they influence us, then demonstrates how to train yourself to focus, honor, and act on the Conscience, the ultimate decision-maker! Finally, he illustrates that when the Ego, Senses, or Unconscious habits are in charge, it distorts our perception––and therefore, we are put at risk of deciding on erroneous input. Ram Lev shares a sixty-second meditation that allows one to connect with your Conscience instantly. It is simple to do but do not do when driving. You learn to turn off the noise that disrupts conscious abilities quickly. He also shares the four functions of the mind for a deeper understanding of how the Conscience works. Read Leonard Perlmutter's book, https://americanmeditation.org/your-conscience/ (Your Conscience). IN THIS PODCAST:Meditation to unlock your mind True willpower The ego Your conscience Meditation to unlock your mindMeditation helps a person to become detached. What that means is by meditating regularly, every day, we learn how to create a space between stimulus and response. In that space between stimulus and response, we find the freedom of action so that we can redirect our attention towards the conscious to determine the true thought to think, word to speak, and action to take. (Leonard Perlmutter)By becoming detached, a person is no longer bound to their emotions and their immediate reactions. Through detachment, people can pause and observe something that happens around them instead of immediately reacting. Meditation teaches detachment, and detachment enables pause, and pause allows people to sit in their peace and decide from a place of stability and calmness, instead of mindlessness and fear-based reactions. True willpowerFrom taking intentional action from the pause, people can direct their energy and focus on the things that they can see genuinely do matter. Therefore, they can practice true willpower, because they can recognize the wise and unwise decisions and are willing to wait or work to make the best and truest decision happen in reality. The more that I do these types of experiments and follow the wisdom of the conscious; I am continuously building the muscles of willpower to do what is to be done when it is to be done, and not do what is not to be done when it is not to be done. (Leonard Perlmutter)The training of meditation can, therefore, be used in every aspect of daily life. The teachings of meditation can be superimposed in many ways, and we can rely on these teachings when making any decision. The egoThe ego is hardwired to the reptilian brain, and the reptilian brain is totally invested in self-preservation, as is the ego … it means that both the ego and the reptilian brain are terribly fearful of annihilation … from the yoga-science perspective, death is merely change and growth. (Leonard Perlmutter)The ego has a limited perspective and so it cannot perceive anything other than what is known to be good. It wants to remain with what it knows, because it fears change, even if what it knows is overly difficult or painful. The ego is often in wrong, but it never doubts. It defines every relationship or life event as either pleasant or unpleasant, and it only wants to serve the pleasant, therefore opposing everything

If someone came and told us there is a war for power and survival inside our minds, that we all have superconscious wisdom, that is, in a certain way, kept hostage and censured by stronger, or louder rather, parts of our brain, we will probably not believe it. However, that is what our guest, Leonard Perlmutter, came to tell us today, and he said something even more interesting, that he would prefer we won't believe anything he said and go to find out by ourselves if it is true.Leonard is the Founder and Director of The American Meditation Institute (AMI). He is the author of several books, including "Transformation", "The heart and science of Yoga", and his latest "Your Conscience. The key to unlock limitless wisdom and creativity and solve all life's challenges", which we talk about today. Leonard has studied Yoga Science since 1975 and is a direct disciple of mind/body medicine pioneer Swami Rama of the Himalayas. In this episode, Leonard described how our mind works with astonishing simplicity. He explained how we make the decisions that impact our lives and decide our fate and what we can do to have more control over it. We talked about the four voices in our mind, the louder and pushy ones, how they operate, and why it is so hard to ignore them. Leonard also taught simple yet effective techniques to incorporate meditation into our lives and much more.Tune in to Episode 114 to explore how our mind operates, and discover who we listen to when we make our choices. Some Questions I Ask:Can you tell us a bit about your journey to get to be you at this point in your life? (3:36)Can you tell us some of the principles behind your book and why the conscience is this thing that can do all these great things for us? (9:13)Can you talk to us about that part of the conscious mind that's sceptical? Can you tell us about the concrete scientific basis behind it? (18:36)In This Episode, You Will Learn:Be prepared. Happy Thanksgiving. As we acknowledge this holiday in our own chosen ways this year there is much to celebrate. There is also much to grieve. And, there is much to remember about the truth of our relationship with the indigenious people of this land. As we each work to sort out our understanding, feelings and plans for the holiday, I thought we could practice today with the gift of contentment. Contentment is understanding that the moment is complete. It doesn't mean the moment is perfect. It doesn't mean you are 100% happy. It simply means that we are willing to show up for this moment exactly as it is. We are willing as Swami Rama said to “fall in love with our lives”.If you enjoyed today's episode, please consider making a one-time or monthly donation to support the growth of this labor of love. Do you think it's a bad thing to be so interconnected? We are living in a time where we see, hear, and feel everything we are all (as a collective and individually) feeling and experiencing all at the same time. This experience of “oneness” can be devastating and hard to manage. What can we do? We turn to a simple cure, one that is thousands of years old – The breath. In this episode, we explore breath and the way it can not only heal the body and the mind, but transform reality and change the outcome of realty as we see it. Breath is also called prana and it means the vital energy of the universe. Swami Rama, according to, his book, "The Science of Breath, A Practical Guide". Swami Rama: "According to one of the schools of Indian philosophy, the whole universe was projected out of Akasha Which means space, space through the energy of prana. Akasha is the infinite all-encompassing material of the universe. And prana is the infinite all-pervading energy of the universe, cosmic energy. All the diverse forms of the universe are sustained by it. Pranayama is a science, which imparts knowledge related to the control of Parana. One who has learned to control prana has learned to control all the energies of this universe, physical and mental. He is also learned to control his body and mind." "In short, emotions are tunnels. If you go all the way through them, you got to the light at the end. Exhaustion happens when you get stuck in an emotion." (excerpt from the book “Burnout” - by Emily Nagoski & Amelia Nagoski if you're in a stuck emotion, if you are able to come into that space and breathe life into it, you're able to access a part of the universe that is transformative; that you can recreate, that you can go in there and Recode. . Does that make sense? Like if you get into the Akashic records, right, you go into a level where everything has history, in the universe and all the universes in that empty space is where you can create. What you focus on grows right? In that empty space is where you can rewrite things. So if you can harness that vital energy of the universe, and then infuse; channel the energy of that universe, that breath, into wherever you are. I think you can change in an instant what is happening in and around you. TRANSCRIPT Fawn: [00:00:00] [00:00:00] Hello. Welcome to our table. Welcome to the table. Welcome to your table. He reports having taken over 150μg of LSD on more than 900 occasions, and once accidentally ingested a mega-mega-dose of 5,000μg (Warning: do NOT try this at home). However, he discovered that the ability to see beneath the veneer of consensual reality, to the archetypal realm, and to experience the underlying unity of all that exists, using psychedelics (even very large doses) is short lived. He turned toward spiritual practices as a way of remaining in transpersonal awareness. He studied with with Eastern spiritual teachers, notably, Chogyam Trungpa, Swami Satchidananda, and Swami Rama. He was initiated as a swami on the banks of the Ganges, in Rishikesh, India. For the next twenty years he periodically travelled to India, for further study, to teach, and to deepen his meditation.Allan is also a mentor for professionals who are learning to be psychedelic therapists. The nadis are channels that carry energy through our bodies. There are thousands, but we tend to focus on three: ida, pingala, and sushumna.Ida and pingala travel from the root chakra to the third eye, crisscrossing paths along the way. Sushumna is the central channel that travels up the middle.Where the three meet, you will find a chakra.I am beyond delighted to have Arabella Champaq back on the podcast to talk about the nadis and how they have helped support her and her practice. The nadis are an important part of our subtle energy body, but not talked about nearly as much as the chakra system.Arabella discusses what they do, how you can recognize which is activated, and some practical steps to take into your daily practice.Arabella Champaq was initiated by Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan, a Sufi Master of the Chishti Order, in 1976. She studied with him for 25 years.Eventually, she began searching for a more integrated path, one that included all parts of her being. She longed for a spiritual path that addressed the disconnect between spirit and body, between God and Pleasure, between what we believe and how we live. She began an exploration of sacred sexuality, which led her to tantra. In tantra, she has discovered the perfect marriage of the sacred and the profane, of the inner and outer worlds, of the fact that she has both an innate desire for the transcendent state and experiences extended orgasms. She studies with Swami Ravi Rudra Bharati (a.k.a. Rudy Ballentine), a student of Swami Rama. She has taught meditation, led retreats, classes, and workshops since 1985.If you would like to find out more about Arabella, her work, and how you might be able to study with her, please visit https://tantragateway.weebly.com/.*****For more information about Adam Bee, sacred intimacy, and Tantra, please visit https://adambee.com

Tune in as we interview Mollie Cox from Jala Yoga. This gorgeous soul deserves to be shared with the world and we can't wait for you to learn more about her. Mollie has been practicing Yoga since the age of 15, however intensified her learning in the Ashtanga method from the age of 21. It has played a huge role in rebuilding her through recovering from Complex PTSD + debilitating Anxiety. The lineage of her teachings includes Sharath Jois, BKS Iyengar, Swami Veda and Swami Rama. Mollie specialises in Yoga for Mental Health and has extensive experience in the mind-body connection, and the purification process that Yoga starts, therefore has the ability to hold space for her students through the myriad of emotions Yoga exposes us to in a kind, gentle and loving way. Her passion lies in working one on one with both practitioners and existing teachers to deepen their understanding of how Yoga Therapy and Meditation applies to them as an individual on a physiological and therapeutic level, and how to integrate into the way they live, rather than just an hour on their mat a couple of times a week. She empowers her students to cultivate a self practice and ultimately become their own teachers who see her as a mirror when needed. She also loves teaching Kids & Teenagers! Mollie has been so kind to give all our listeners a discount code to her Online Anxiety Yoga Program. Meah and I highly recommend this program. https://www.jalayoga.co/yoga-for-anxiety-full-course?ref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.jalayoga.co%2Fa%2F24545%2FtPeekby2%3Ffbclid%3DIwAR24a_WA4SWGwYKgIZ4y2Ctn-qemDJfR5DD8f8TQ5gN7aFVQqXKEDMhkjxc

Voices of Courage with Ken D. Foster and guests James Sweigert and Leonard Perlmutter Topic: The Courage to Awaken Wealth Today we discuss transcending how we think about and define wealth in order to create an abundance of it in all aspects of our lives. We live in a society that defines wealth as how much money you have in the bank. But, I want to tell you that that’s an antiquated and very narrow vision of wealth. Wealth really is a sense of feeling expanded in ourselves. We have a wealth of great relationships, a wealth of health, and a wealth of happiness and joy in our lives. My first guest, James Sweigert, is a new author, dynamic motivational speaker, and award-winning executive producer and director for film and television who helps others change their stories to transform their lives. He joins me today to discuss the power of the spoken word, the impact of the stories that we tell ourselves about ourselves, and practical ways we can change the stories inside of us that keep us stuck and unhappy. My second guest, Leonard Perlmutter, is the founder and director of The American Meditation Institute, originator of the National Conscience Month observance, and is a noted educator, philosopher, and author. He joins me today to share the importance of letting our conscience be our guide and how we can use it to control, conserve, and transform our greatest natural resource—the power of our thoughts. We Discuss: Taking a deep dive into wealth, what we think about it, and how we define it The stories that we tell ourselves that come from events in our own lives Practical ways that we can change the stories we have that hold us back How the power of the spoken word can completely shape our lives Why remaining a victim to the circumstances in our lives is a choice Powerful words we can use to shift into higher states of consciousness What National Conscience Month is and what inspired this observance The Four Functions of the mind and why they’re so valuable to us How to use the conscience to control the power of our thoughts “The universe will give you whatever story you tell it, so you might as well make it a good, positive one with a happy ending.” — James Sweigert About James James Sweigert is not only an author and motivational speaker, he’s a successful executive producer and director for film and television. Over the past 25 years he has built, run, and sold several multimillion-dollar, award-winning production companies. During the same time, he mentored and coached celebrities, rockstars, and movie executives. The successes in his life were hard-fought; nothing came easy until he changed his story. The youngest of seven, James struggled to be seen and stay safe. He began to be molested at the age of 7. To cope with the chaos and abuse he turned to drugs and alcohol, which led to severe depression and a suicide attempt at the age of 25. This self-destructive pattern continued until he changed his story – and his life. James has not only survived addiction, depression, homelessness, suicide, and molestation, he has triumphed. He is a storyteller who was able to understand that how he was telling his own story and the power behind his words could shape his life. He is teaching others the same through his work as a mentor, motivational speaker and “Life Cheerleader.” James currently lives in Beverly Hills, California with a loving partner, a close community, and an incredible dog, with the ultimate purpose to help others change their stories to transform their lives. About Leonard Leonard Perlmutter is the founder and director of The American Meditation Institute, and originator of the National Conscience Month observance. He is a noted educator, philosopher, and author of both the award-winning book, The Heart and Science of Yoga®, and the mind/body medicine journal, “Transformation.” Leonard has served on the faculties of the New England Institute of Ayurvedic Medicine, the Himalayan Yoga Teachers Association, and the College of Saint Rose. He is a direct disciple of Swami Rama––who, in laboratory conditions at the Menninger Institute, demonstrated that blood pressure, heart rate, and the autonomic nervous system can be voluntarily controlled. Leonard has presented courses on Yoga Science as Holistic Mind/Body medicine at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Kaiser Permanente, Albany Medical College, the Commonwealth Club of California, the U. S. Military Academy at West Point, and “The New York Times” Yoga Forum with Dean Ornish MD. His unique curriculum to reduce and eliminate burnout in physicians and health-care providers has been certified by the American Medical Association and the American Nurses associations since 2007. “The more that you let your conscience be your guide, you will always be led to your highest and greatest good.” — Leonard Perlmutter

Recursos: Creative use of emotion, Swami Rama y Swami Ajaya  The Royal Path: Practical Lessons on Yoga, Swami Rama

Joan Bello is the author of The Benefits of Marijuana: Physical, Psychological and Spiritual. She has been writing on cannabis since before the internet; since getting information meant driving from library to library hunting the stacks; since any mention of cannabis in public might have meant federal investigations and jail time. It was during the height of the Drug War that she published this book; when the knowledge was forbidden, and she has continued to advocate for it since. Her perspective on the benefits of marijuana was an outgrowth of her training at the Himalayan Institute under the tutelage of Swami Rama, who she describes as an advanced Tantric Master. Joan has been a Hospice Worker, an editor, a grower, an activist, a jail counselor, a fugitive from the law and even a prisoner. She was the director of the class action lawsuit that sued the U.S. government for its prohibition of therapeutic cannabis in 1998.  She also has a Master of Science Degree in eastern studies and holistic health. At 75 years old, Joan Bello is an elder of the modern cannabis movement. We welcome her to ATTMind to share some of her stories from the trenches of the drug war, her perspectives on where we are and where we are going with cannabis as a society, as well as her perspectives on what benefits cannabis does, and does not, have to offer us as individuals and as a society.   *** See the full show notes and my blog entry on this episode: http://bit.ly/ATTMind62   *** Episode Breakdown What led Joan Bello to dedicate her life to cannabis activism.
