I am not being remotely dramatic when I say Sienna Miller (aka Sophie Whitehouse)'s outfits in the Netflix Limited Series Anatomy of a Scandal have kind of changed my outlook on fashion for the better. I've always enjoyed, and sought after classic fashion. Timeless style is always the answer, I know that. But I, like most everyone, have fallen prey to the trends and fast-fashion quick fixes and I have cultivated a wardrobe that I like, but not one that is trend averse. I was so in awe of Sophie's restraint and good taste, and how comfortable yet polished she was in her outfits... even while her life is in shambles. It's a lesson for us all and I, for one, will be certain to spend more of my hard-earned money on classic, effortless pieces that I will love and wear for years, if not decades.

The jobs scandal engulfing the New South Wales state government that saw deputy premier Stuart Ayres resign from cabinet this week is not going anywhere fast. The crisis began when former Nationals MP John Barilaro was appointed to a $500,000 a year New York trade role nearly seven weeks ago and continues today, amid further revelations this week about how involved Ayres was in the controversial appointment. The belated dumping of Ayres, after he insisted for weeks that he played no role in the recruitment process, is just the start of problems the besieged coalition faces. Premier Dominic Perrottet's standing and authority has been weakened, and with further damaging revelations being made daily in the parliamentary enquiry into Barilaro's appointment, questions are being asked about the future of his leadership. Among many appealing qualities as an actor, Rupert Friend certainly has “range.” His two most recent roles are James Whitehouse—elitist, upper-class British politician in David E. Kelley's Netflix limited series “Anatomy Of A Scandal”; and The Grand Inquisitor—blowhard Star Wars bad guy in “Obi-Wan Kenobi.” He's probably best known for playing Peter Quinn on a few seasons of “Homeland,” which got him an Emmy Nomination. On this episode, he talks about why his preparation process is more “uncovering” than “building,” how energy management has served him well, the gift of being allowed to “fail safely,” and the most important thing any actor can have in their arsenal—instinct. This week our viewing is a bit lopsided with Sharon taking it upon herself to be the cinema correspondent and Tosin and Holly resolutely staying at home. One of those was voluntarily. IN her Blitz, Sharon Saw The Northman, The Lost City and Operation Mincemeat, and at Home, both Holly and Tosin saw Pieces of Her on Netflix, Tosin saw The Dropout on Disney + and Holly saw Anatomy of a Scandal on Netflix. Is Netflix killing cinemas? Each week we weigh up what we've seen in cinemas with what we've watched online at home and figure out which provided the best time. At least, we did before COVID jumped in and declared Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney + and friends the winner. In this episode, Holly explains to Em how this real life scandal rocked the world at the time, and how the media's treatment of her almost ruined her life and career, and how heartthrob Jude Law fits in. This week, we're gonna slow it way down. There's the deliberately paced tale of an American journalist in Japan in Tokyo Vice on HBO Max. There's the tale of bad cops and an unlucky athlete in 61st Street on AMC+. And there's another contender for worst show of the year in Netflix's Anatomy of a Scandal. Plus... Marc and Steven have quite the change of pace on this week's Moon Knight on Disney+. Check it out! 2:04-24:00 TV Diary 25:15-38:58 Tokyo Vice (HBO Max) 39:43-45:40 61st Street (AMC+) 45:40-53:08 Anatomy of a Scandal (Netflix) 53:08- Moon Knight (Disney+)
