Why do some teams work well together and others don't? When your team works well together, they are more productive, deliver better results, and have more fun. When your team doesn't, there are often delays, finger pointing, and lots of escalations to HR and upper management. I hosted Kris Malkoski on the show, who has been an international business leader for more than 30 years as CEO, COO, President and VP/GM in public and private branded CPG (consumer packaged goods) and hardlines companies. She shared terrific insights on how to make your team work more effectively for the long haul. Then she backed it up with incredible stories for product innovation that you won't want to miss! In 2020, Kris Malkoski joined Newell Brands (NASDAQ: NWL) as CEO, Home Solutions, managing global iconic brands including Rubbermaid, Calphalon, Ball, Food Saver, and Yankee Candle, and driving over 50% revenue and operating income growth, despite COVID headwinds including inflation, labor and supply challenges. As a member of the Newell Executive Team, Kris oversees $2.6 billion in revenues and over 8,500 employees. She's also served as CEO of the Americas for Arc International and President and COO at World Kitchen, transforming global revenue and profit from a seven-year decline to five years of significant growth! She began her career at Procter & Gamble and previously served on the boards of Fluidmaster; Trustmark Mutual Insurance Company; and Banfi Vineyards. Kris has also participated on not-for-profit boards, serving as President for the Hinsdale Center for the Arts and University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, and as a board member for the Cincinnati Ballet (marketing committee chair), University of Nebraska Foundation (governance committee) and CARE Women's Advisory Committee. Kris graduated from the University of Nebraska. Kris received Six Sigma certification from Villanova. Britton danced for Cincinnati Ballet and Les Ballets Trockadero before a back injury ended his performance career. His love for travel plus a little bit of relevant experience from high school led him to a sales position with Club Mediterranean. His aptitude as a leader in corporate settings quickly emerged - he became the top salesperson within 6 months! An ambitious restlessness then propelled him into systems and support roles, which took him laterally to more Fortune 500 corporations and upward into project management. In his current position at ADM, Britton is poised to make even more leaps up the management ladder leading multiple IT teams using Scrum methodology. This Episode I am joined by Host of Choose your struggle Podcast, Jay Shifman. We talk about addiction and Jay shares is personal story of his walk with addiction and the decision he made that changed his life. This show speaks to us all weather you have struggled or someone you may know such as a family member, a friend, spouse, parent we all have struggled with something and Jay's story may sound familiar to some of you. Tune in to grab some tools to add into your tool box to be able to help someone you know or yourself. Here are details about Jay in first person:I live by one mantra: Choose Your Struggle. For much of my early life, I was told that I was living with a debilitating issue of Mental Health. As my condition worsened, I was prescribed more drugs at ever higher doses until, in my early 20s, I was daily taking more than the estimated lethal dosage of one drug and abusing many others while living with a full-blown Substance Misuse Disorder thanks to prescription pills. At 23, after two suicide attempts, an overdose, and time spent in an inpatient hospital and a rehab facility, I decided enough was enough and pledged myself to withdraw from all of my prescriptions. My symptoms disappeared almost immediately. After entering recovery and rebuilding my life, I pledged myself to one mission: choosing my struggle. In a world where many don’t get a first chance, I realized just how lucky I was to get my second. I decided to dedicate my life to making a difference around the topics of Mental Health and Substance Misuse & Recovery. After years of having my struggle chosen for me—to simply make it through the day—I finally chose what to struggle for. Along the way, I have served in a variety of roles aimed at bettering the communities I’ve lived in. I’ve succeeded in increasingly elevated nonprofit fundraising roles, including Cincinnati Ballet and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and served as the Political Director for the bipartisan consulting organization MainStream Strategy. Additionally, I have written for publications including David’s Voice, New York Minute Magazine and Guy Talk. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, I live with my wife and dog on Daniel Island, South Carolina. A graduate of Northern Kentucky University with a B.A. in Psychology, I strive every day to end the stigma around the topics of Mental Health and Substance Misuse & Recovery by telling my story and helping others tell theirs. I have certifications in Psychological First Aid, Drug Policy and the Social Contexts of Mental Health and Illnesses, Suicide Prevention, and Coaching, among others. Additionally, I am the Founder and Principal Consultant at Ornelas Station Consulting. The Nutcracker isn't unique to Cincinnati. But Victoria Morgan's version of the ballet classic certainly is. Morgan's dog, Cammy, inspired the poodle character in Morgan's revamping of the Cincinnati Ballet's version of The Nutcracker in 2011. “I really wanted it to be fresh, and I really wanted it to feel new,” Morgan, the ballet's artistic director, said on That's So Cincinnati podcast. “And I wanted especially young people to get a kick out of it.” In the Cincinnati Ballet’s version, it’s the poodle that distracts the Mouse King so The Nutcracker can win the battle. “Our dogs, they protect and give us company and comfort,” Morgan said. Also on this week's episode, cohosts Jason Williams and Sharon Coolidge discuss watchdog journalism and the man who ate 1,000 cheese coneys.

E. Michael Jones discusses his recent book "How Meyer Lansky Took Over the Cincinnati Ballet, and What Four Ballerinas Did About It" in which he addressed the Jewish mob corruption of the "sin-city" across the river in Newport, Kentucky and the later corruption that developed in Cincinnati. The book tells the fascinating story behind how and why the American Psychiatric Association wrongly removed homosexuality from its list of mental illnesses in 1973, paving the way for the current dominance of the gay-lesbian movement in America. Mike writes: "It's all part of what David Altman described as "the homosexualization of America." He discusses how this and many other intriguing discoveries play into the Cincinnati Ballet and how four of their Ballerinas revolted against the current gender equality social engineering. Some of the people that crop up along the way include Cardinal Bernardin - then Archbishop of Cincinnati, Dutch Shultz, Moe Dalitz, the Cleveland Four, Sheldon Adelson, Dan Gilbert, Edward Warburg, George Ratterman - former Notre Dame quarterback, Robert Kennedy, the CIA, Robert Mapplethorpe, and the Museum of Modern Art.
