In this episode, host Zach Urness gives an update on the fast-developing wildfire season in Oregon and then posts and interview that dives into how beloved places such as the Opal Creek area reopen post wildfire. First, Urness breaks down some of the fires burning across the state after a major lightning storm ignited a number of new blazes near Oakridge, Diamond Lake, the McKenzie Corridor and all other corners of the state. Then, Urness posts an interview that he did with Portland City Cast on how the Opal Creek area is doing now, four years after the 2020 Labor Day Fires. He details what the area looks like and plans for how it will eventually reopen. He also talks about the 2017 Eagle Creek Fire and its lasting impact, and the legacy of the 2003 B&B Complex.
Diamond Lake Minerals CEO Brian J. Esposito and Horizon Fintex CEO Brian Collins joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share news of a significant $3.75 million share exchange agreement between Diamond Lake Minerals and Horizon Fintex, involving Horizon Fintex's regulated tokenized-securities exchange, Upstream. Under the terms of the agreement, Horizon Fintex issued 1,250 common shares, valued at $3,000 per share, in exchange for 1,000,000 newly issued common shares in Diamond Lake Minerals. This partnership is designed for mutual benefit, aiming to attract new issuers to list on Upstream, thereby increasing Upstream's trading liquidity and providing economic advantages to the shareholders of both companies. Upstream is the only market seeking to offer investors direct exchange access to primary and dual listed equities from all over the world right from their smartphones. Alongside the share exchange partnership, Diamond Lake Minerals also signed a Cooperation, Marketing, and Referral Agreement with a Horizon Fintex subsidiary. This agreement designates Diamond Lake Minerals as a commercial advisor, responsible for introducing and referring issuers who are seeking to list on Upstream. One of the unique aspects of Upstream is that investors are directly connected to the exchange via the Upstream trading app, eliminating the need for stockbroker middlemen. Investors can trade in real-time, 20 hours a day, five days a week. The platform offers streamlined onboarding, transparent order books where all participants can see level-2 bids and offers, and is designed to prevent market manipulation techniques such as short selling, stock lending, wash trades, and payment for order flow. This is achieved through Horizon Fintex's advanced Ethereum smart-contract technologies. #proactiveinvestors #diamondlakeminerals #otc #dlmi #HorizonFintex, #DigitalAssets, #Tokenization, #ShareExchange, #GlobalInvestment, #TechnologyPartnership, #StockExchange, #RegulatedMarket, #BlockchainTechnology, #Liquidity, #Securities, #InvestorAccess, #MarketInnovation, #HybridApproach, #CapitalSupport, #TokenizedAssets, #FutureOfFinance, #GlobalReach, #InvestorBase #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews

(OTC: DLMI), a multi-strategy operating company offering traditional investors an entry point to the future of digital securities. To begin the interview, Esposito discussed DLMI's business model and operating markets. “The best way I can describe what we're building here at DLMI is an old-school General Electric/Berkshire Hathaway approach where we're going to have an umbrella holding company of all of these wonderful subsidiaries across multiple industries,” Esposito said. “Think of us as an industry-agnostic holding umbrella company with wonderful entities that we build, start or acquire. The idea is strong, consistent earnings; shareholder value; and sharing those earnings with our shareholders through strong, consistent dividend distribution. I'm a strong believer that this is what's needed in the market… I'm proud to be here as the CEO since late August. I'm proud of the accomplishments that we've achieved over the past few months, and the global support that we have is quite exceptional.” Join IBN's Stuart Smith and Brian J. Ten years ago, former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, was ousted after weeks of protest in Tahrir square in Cairo. Demonstrators proved an unstoppable force despite a brutal crackdown by authorities killing hundreds. But the post-Mubarak era has not heralded a period of greater freedoms. Kevin Connolly, who covered the fall of Mubarak, looks back on the protests in 2011 which have now fallen silent. President Emmanuel Macron has chosen not to impose a further lockdown, instead tightening borders, closing shopping malls and imposing a night-time curfew to keep the virus under control. A few weeks ago I caught a slightly distressed silvereye inside the netted cage in which I grow berries. Yes, I know: the cage was set up to stop these avian fruit molesters getting hold of my fruit in the first place, but there was a tiny gap at the bottom and the silvereye got in.I caught the bird with my butterfly net and was about to release it, when I noticed it had an aluminium band around its right leg with the Number A-129527. That just brought back all the memories of my avian past – I had been banding birds for most of my life. In Holland, Spain and later in New Zealand. Kiwi in Northland, plus all sorts of birds on the Poor Knights and Hauturu. The idea for banding birds can be quite simple: to learn a heap of stuff about their lives. Where do they go? Have they got the same partner every breeding season? What’s their migration route, How long do they live and do they occupy the same territory? How about some deeper research that widens the scope considerably: Population studies; measure decline, recovery of species; climate fluctuations and predator effects on bird populations; assess the impact of fisheries activities on seabird populations or… assess the success rate of translocations in new habitats.Mind you, there are also some cool stories that come out of the banding schemes: A gannet band was retrieved from the stomach of a Tiger Shark; makes kind-of sense, but good to get the “evidence”! Band 13-70808 was issued in 1987 and used to band a female Paradise Shelduck at Diamond Lake, Otago, in January 1988. 30 years later, the band mysteriously emerges from a couch… in Wynne, Arkansas!Band R-33266, together with a wrap-around white plastic band, was placed on a female Northern Royal Albatross in February 1974 on East Sister Island, Chatham Islands. 20 years later, the same bird was re-sighted by Chris Robertson on its nest with an egg. Fast-forward another 23 years, and these bands were found on a brittle bone on a beach northwest of Whanganui, 816km from where the bird was last seen. How long did this albatross live for, how did it end up on the beach, and how long have these bands been buried for? I remember banding those huge grey herons in the Netherlands with a team of nutcase students and getting bands back from Morocco and further south in Africa; One gave us a village name and the comment: “shot, cooked and eaten” – imagine! I have begun my journey to become a bird bander again. Register with DOC – go on-line and find out how to do all this: https://www.doc.govt.nz/our-work/bird-banding/

That being said, our average guest count for events May-October is between 150-200 people. A table layout with the indoor and outdoor combination is common. Our sound system resides inside of the 1920 Art Deco Jukeboxes and plays in the main venue, bathrooms, bar, deck, and portico and includes a wireless microphone. The system has the ability to play CDs, or anything with a headphone jack hook up (computer, iPads, iPods, iPhones, etc). La Capanna Our second indoor location and it is our most intimate event space for ceremonies or lectures of less than 60 people and receptions with dining tables of less than 30 people. In addition, this space is often used as cocktail events. Board meetings, silent auctions and features a 70-inch tv. Special Notes: Commellini Estate is known for its Prohibition past and for hiding moonshine in the many underground tunnels. This building is the front to one of the underground tunnels. We are currently working on renovations of the speakeasy bar which will be in the opening of the tunnel. Creekside This location is right on the edge of Spring Creek where you can hear the tranquil sounds of the rushing water. The capacity for this location is 185 guests. Included in all packages are various décor options for the white Tuscan gazebo, although you are more than welcome to bring in your own unique elements or keep it simple. This location has also been used for creekside dinners, yard games, and various other activities. Special Notes: During spring, the right bank is filled with wildflowers. The flower pots on the left side are filled with tall ivy that cascades down the wall. The bridge beyond the trellis is frequently used as a photo location because of the 9-foot waterfall on the other side. Pond Side Have your event along our pond and acres of manicured grass and pine trees. This is our largest location and can hold parties up to 300 people for any style seating. When holding your ceremonies, lectures, or concerts at the pond-side location you can do two tiers of seating with “balcony” seating on the grass. The pots surrounding the pond are filled with flowers and ferns in season. Special Notes: If you continue to walk south there is a flat location of grass that can also host events. Patio The patio is frequently used for cocktail events, garden parties, brunch, dancing, photo booths, or additional seating. We have 6 gorgeous glass and iron deck furniture that can seat 30 people. We can also set the patio with round tables seating up to 50 guests. Special Notes: The large willow tree that hangs over the deck is lit with twinkle lights and creates a very romantic atmosphere for dancing or as a photo opportunity. Listener question!
