Your heroes return to discuss Rook: Exodus! "Hundreds of years from now, the man known as Rook was once a simple farmer who fled the crumbling Earth for a new life. He traveled to the planet Exodus, a terraformed world where all of nature, including its imported animal population, was completely controlled by humans called Wardens. But when Exodus's world engine failed, the Wardens' power fell into the wrong hands, creating chaos and mass evacuation…for those who could afford it. The rest, like Rook, must scavenge for an escape vessel as the war for control of what's left of Exodus begins."In this episode we chat about fantastic concept for the book, debate our favorite Wardens, and break down the story. As always you'll hear us cover the History of the Creators, Favorite Lines, The Art Awards, and Adaptation Alley. Rook: Exodus is written by Geoff Johns, art by Jason Fabok, colored by Brad Anderson, lettered by Rob Leigh, and published by Image Comics.Follow ComiClub on Instagram @ComiClubPodcast.ComiClub is hosted by Blaine McGaffigan and Adam Cook.

Your heroes return to discuss Redcoat!"British soldier and all-around rogue Simon Pure has led quite an exciting life. Or lives, really. After a failed assassination of General George Washington at the Battle of Trenton in 1776, Simon stumbled upon hooded figures performing a bizarre ritual that accidentally gave him immortality.Since that fateful day, Simon has died and returned countless times over, rubbing elbows (and sometimes fists) with history's most renowned figures, including his nemesis Benedict Arnold, Albert Einstein, and many more. But what are the true origins and extent of Simon's power, and the clandestine cabal behind them? And how does this group intend to use him to destroy America? Simon means to find out, even if it finally kills him!"In this episode we chat about the comic, why we love lore, and discuss our founding fathers. As always you'll hear us cover the History of the Creators, Favorite Lines, The Art Awards, and Adaptation Alley. Redcoat is written by Geoff Johns, art by Bryan Hitch, colored by Brad Anderson, lettered by Rob Leigh, and published by Image Comics.Follow ComiClub on Instagram @ComiClubPodcast.ComiClub is hosted by Blaine McGaffigan and Adam Cook.

Concluding (for now) our look at the saga of Kyle Rayner, the last of the Green Lantern Corps (for the ‘90s, at least). Just when Kyle finally thinks he's proved himself for all time as a worthy owner of the power ring, his future comes into question when a trip to the 30th century reveals the Legion of Super-Heroes have no record of his career as Green Lantern. His position isn't much more secure in the 20th century after he picks up an unplanned stowaway on his travels through time: a novice Hal Jordan. By the time Parallax shows up, all our emerald gladiators have to confront their legacies for better or for worse. As we wrap up, we'll also talk about the real-world legacy of the character and comic in the wake of Hal Jordan's more permanent return in Geoff Johns' Green Lantern: Rebirth.Discussed in this episode: Green Lantern #95-106, plus crossover issues of Green Arrow and The Flash. We could use a little green ourselves! THE BEST BOOK CLUB IN THE MULTIVERSE! RISE. Join the Book Club Bois as they dive into the darkest chapter of the Geoff Johns GREEN LANTERN Saga! The Book of Oa tells of a prophecy. This prophecy details the fall of the Corps, the discovery of the other emotional spectrum energies, and the war that would follow. But the hidden chapter of the book details the worst case scenario - an event so catastrophic that it would signal the end of all things… and that time has come. The Blackest Night is here. Heroes will fall, the dead shall rise, and the DC Universe will never be the same again… Covers Green Lantern (2005) #43-45 and Blackest Night (2009) #0-3 by Geoff Johns, Ivan Reis and Doug Mahnke Time Stamps: 00:01:10 Intro & Whatcha Doin'? 00:22:17 Break 00:23:46 Book Club Begins 02:16:09 Emerald Mailbag 03:13:00 Patreon Shout-Outs & Wrap-Up Support us on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/c/geeksplained Geeksplained Merch: https://www.teepublic.com/user/geeksplained Follow us!
