In this LIVE FREE special episode, Pastor Josh responds to a recent clip featuring Kirk Cameron and his son James discussing annihilationism (the belief that the wicked ultimately cease to exist rather than experience eternal conscious punishment). With pastoral clarity and biblical conviction, this episode walks through what Scripture actually teaches about hell, God's justice, and why Christian doctrine cannot be reshaped by emotion or cultural pressure. This isn't an attack, but a thoughtful, Scripture-centric examination of one of the more complex doctrines in the Bible, and why getting it right matters more than we think.

https://wels2.blob.core.windows.net/daily-devotions/20251217dev.mp3 Listen to Devotion Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. Matthew 11:11 Made Great by Jesus John the Baptist was no ordinary man. He was courageous, faithful, and unwavering in his mission. He spoke God’s truth without fear, even when it landed him in prison. He received a beautiful compliment from Jesus: “among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist.” That’s an incredible commendation! And yet, Jesus adds something surprising: “whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.” How can that be? John was a prophet chosen by God. He baptized Jesus. He prepared the way for the Messiah. How could anyone be greater than that? The answer is that John looked forward to what we now live in. John pointed ahead to the Savior who was to come. We get to see what John only glimpsed from a distance. We know the full story. We see how Jesus carried our sins to the cross, rose from the dead, and opened heaven's door to all who believe. Greatness in God's kingdom isn’t about status, reputation, or how much you do for God. It's about what Jesus has done for you. The least person who trusts in Christ, clinging to his forgiveness and grace, will live in eternal glory in heaven. That person stands on the finished work of Jesus. So, if you ever feel small or unimportant, remember who you are in God's eyes. You are part of something infinitely greater. You belong to the kingdom John was waiting for, the kingdom Jesus won for you. Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank you for bringing me into your kingdom. When I feel small or unworthy, remind me that my worth comes from you. Help me live with the confidence that I am yours, now and forever. Amen. Daily Devotions is brought to you by WELS. St. Paul and his companions begin the second letter to the Thessalonians in grace and peace from the one true God. It is right for them to be thankful for this Christian congregation because their faith is growing and their love is increasing. This remains true even as they endure persecution and affliction for the sake of Christ. The apostle assures the Thessalonians that this does not mean that they have been separated from God's kingdom, but instead, they are counted among the members of God's kingdom. Together, they are waiting for the revealing of the Lord Jesus and His judgment upon all those who do not obey the Gospel. St. Paul thus prays for the Thessalonians, that God would keep them faithful and Jesus would be glorified in them.  Rev. Samuel Wirgau, pastor at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ossian, IN, joins host Rev. Timothy Appel to study 2 Thessalonians 1:1-12.  To learn more about Bethlehem in Ossian, visit bethlehemossian.org. “Yearning for the Day of Christ's Returning” is a mini-series on Sharper Iron that studies St. Paul's two epistles to the Thessalonians. Although Paul's time in Thessalonica was brief, he had great affection for the Christians there. His two letters to the Thessalonians show us the joy that God gives us together in the Church and encourage us to live faithfully in expectation of Jesus' coming on the Last Day.  Sharper Iron, hosted by Rev. Timothy Appel, looks at the text of Holy Scripture both in its broad context and its narrow detail, all for the sake of proclaiming Christ crucified and risen for sinners. Two pastors engage with God's Word to sharpen not only their own faith and knowledge, but the faith and knowledge of all who listen. Submit comments or questions to: listener@kfuo.org

Today a massive chunk (is it 50%?) of the Church has been infiltrated by Neo-Marxist tenets. How, chiefly, has Neo-Marxism done that? Mark and I variously work through the tenets of Neo-Marxism, how it has evolved from Marxism, how it manipulates Christians, and the various ways it manifests in western culture. One of those ways is to take a Neo-Marxist value and paste a bible verse over it, to sort-of Christianize it, baptize it. But when pastors and others do that—assume Neo-Marxist terminology as true—they do not realize that they have already ceded foundational ground to a value system that at its root opposes God, Christ, the Gospel, and truth. In this conversational episode Mark and I also talk about the Neo-Marxist use of compassion, coercion, bitterness, resentment, and pacifism. The show caps off with the two of us processing a list of 10 Social Justice values. Come think and laugh with us!

Give to help Chris continue to make Truce William R. “Bill” Bright was born in 1921 in Coweta, Oklahoma. Though raised in a religious environment, he initially pursued business success and personal ambition. While attending the University of Southern California, Bright experienced a dramatic spiritual transformation through the influence of Christian leaders like Henrietta Mears. This encounter led him to surrender his life to Jesus Christ and ultimately shaped his calling toward full-time evangelism. In 1951, Bill and his wife, Vonette, founded Campus Crusade for Christ at UCLA with a vision to reach college students with the Gospel. He later developed The Four Spiritual Laws, a simple evangelistic tract that became one of the most widely distributed Christian tools in history. Under his leadership, Campus Crusade grew into a global movement with ministries focused on students, athletes, families, the military, and professionals. Bright also launched the Jesus Film Project in 1979, which became one of the most-translated and widely viewed films in the world. What's missing from most short bios of Bright is the depth of his involvement in the Religious Right. He organized or was present at some of their key gatherings, founded a publishing house to print their words, and raised funds among them. Bill Bright remained dedicated to fulfilling the Great Commission, often engaging in long periods of fasting and prayer for spiritual guidance. He received the prestigious Templeton Prize in 1996 for his contributions to religion and reinvested the award into Christian ministry. When he died in 2003, Campus Crusade for Christ had expanded into nearly every nation, with thousands of staff and volunteers sharing the Gospel worldwide. Bright's life stands as a testament to the global impact one person can have through faith, vision, and relentless obedience to God's call. My guest for this episode is historian John G. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Chinese Communists arrested 18 pastors over evangelism online Chinese Pastor Ezra Jin and 17 other pastors have been arrested by Chinese Communist authorities on charges of using illegal information networks. Translation? Putting the Gospel message on Zoom is now illegal in China.   The pastors are facing three years in prison.   A pastor's wife described the situation on the Christian Broadcasting Network. WIFE: “China opened the door for the Western society and then grow their economy. I grew up from that period of time. So, I thought we weren't gonna be put in jail because of our Christianity or our faith.” Chinese officials convicted liberty advocate Jimmy Lai Not surprisingly, those Chinese communists have convicted Hong Kong's pro-liberty advocate, Jimmy Lai, with conspiracy to collude with foreign forces. It's a charge that could put him in prison for life. This was the highest profile case since Hong Kong was turned over to the communists in 1997, and Hong Kong's democratic elections halted in 2020. China to eliminate out-of-pocket expenses for childbirth China is planning to eliminate all out-of-pocket medical costs for childbirth with the hopes of encouraging more births. China's fertility rate is dismal, hovering around 1.0. In fact, Chinese deaths have outnumbered births for three years in a row now. The countries with the lowest fertility rates in the world are Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Ukraine, and Chile. Two Muslim men killed 16 Jews in Sydney, Australia On Sunday, two Muslim men, a father and son, have been identified as suspects in the killings of 16 people at a Jewish celebration of Hannukah in Sydney, Australia on Bondi Beach, reports the Associated Press. That's the worst mass shooting in Australia since the Port Arthur massacre of 1996 where 35 people were killed and 23 were injured. Providentially, a bystander of Muslim background, 43-year-old Syrian fruit shop owner, Ahmed Al-Ahmed, happened on the scene. He tackled and disarmed one of the gunmen during the deadly massacre, preventing further carnage.  Ahmed was shot in the shoulder and arm while hiding behind a tree after confronting the gunman. Australia's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is promising “tougher gun laws” in response. Actor Rob Reiner and wife allegedly killed by son Director and actor Rob Reiner and his wife Michele were found dead Sunday, apparent victims of foul play at their home in Los Angeles, reports The L.A. Times. Sadly, Rob Reiner was an atheist, as was his father, Carl Reiner — another famous movie director.   Rob Reiner will be best remembered in the political realm for his leftist views, especially in his opposition to California's Proposition 8, and efforts to introduce homosexual marriage to the state and the country. At last report, Rob and Michele's son Nick, age 32, has been taken into custody by the Los Angeles Police Department, charged with the murder of his parents. He has a long history of drug addiction. Exodus 21:15 speaks to this sort of crime, as do Jesus's words in Matthew 15:4: “And he who strikes his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.” Little Sisters of the Poor vs. Obamacare continues After 14 years, Little Sisters of the Poor, comprised of Roman Catholic nuns, continues to object to the Obamacare mandate to provide coverage for abortifacients for their organization.    Back on July 8, 2020, the Supreme Court ruled 7–2 in favor of the Little Sisters, upholding federal rules that exempted religious organizations from the contraceptive mandate. But now, Pennsylvania and New Jersey have refused to drop their efforts to take away the Little Sisters' protection in the lower courts. Last August, a rogue federal district court in Philadelphia ruled against the Little Sisters and vacated the religious exemption rules that had protected them.  The case is in appeal to the Third Circuit Court. Bill Clinton unresponsive to Congressional subpoena over Epstein GOP House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer announced he will initiate contempt of Congress proceedings against Bill and Hillary Clinton. At issue is the Clintons' decision to ignore the committee's subpoenas issued back in August, in relation to investigations of the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking scandal. Epstein visited the White House 17 times in 1993 after Bill Clinton's inauguration. Kirk Cameron advocates unbiblical theology of annihilationism Actor and Christian celebrity Kirk Cameron suggested in his recent podcast that hell is not forever — a departure from the long-held position of an eternal punishment for those who do not trust Christ, reports The Christian Post. CAMERON: “Eternal judgment or eternal punishment doesn't necessarily mean that we are being tormented and punished forever and ever, every moment for eternity. It means that the punishment we deserve is irreversible. It's permanent; it's eternal. You're dead. You've been destroyed. You have perished. You're gone, and you're never coming back.” This theological position is called annihilationism, a belief that all damned humans and fallen angels – including demons and Satan -- will be totally destroyed and their consciousness extinguished. CAMERON: “I actually think this is a really good argument for annihilationism. Just because the righteous go to eternal life, which is the gift of God, not that the wicked are granted an eternity of punishment. The punishment of the wicked is final. It is irreversible.” Rev. Al Mohler, President of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, called the admission “sad.” And in his words: “The admonition to confess Christ or risk non-existence just doesn't pass the New Testament test, and there is a good reason it doesn't work in a sermon either. The stakes are just too low, and the fires of hell hold no eternal consequence.” At the final judgment, as recorded in Matthew 25: 41-43, Jesus said to those on His left hand: “Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.' … And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Imprisoned fathers reunited with daughters at dance And finally, the “God Behind Bars” organization links local churches to prisons, and reunites families, especially children with their incarcerated parents or grandparents.   This Christmas season, the organization sponsored its first Father-Daughter Dance at the Angola Louisiana State Penitentiary.    Twenty-nine fathers were reunited with their daughters that night, many of whom had not seen their daughters for years — some over a decade. The ministry calls these events "moments of restoration … and the Gospel in motion." https://wels2.blob.core.windows.net/daily-devotions/20251216dev.mp3 Listen to Devotion Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.” Matthew 11:4-6 Good News Proclaimed to You The disciples of John the Baptist brought a question of doubt to Jesus. Was Jesus really the Messiah, or should they expect someone else? John the Baptist sat in prison, and it didn't look like God's kingdom was advancing. Jesus’ answer was both gentle and firm. He pointed to the Bible and quoted prophecies about the coming Savior from the book of Isaiah. Jesus told them to report what they saw and heard. The blind see, the lame walk. People are cleansed; the deaf hear. God’s promises about the Savior were being fulfilled even if it wasn’t the way or the timeline John or his disciples expected. We can relate to John. We see others receiving their miracles and their answers to prayers. We wonder, “When will God act for me? When will he answer my prayer?” It's easy to stumble when God seems silent or slow to respond. But notice what Jesus includes last: “the good news is proclaimed to the poor.” That’s us. We are poor in spirit, weary, doubting at times, and unable to fix ourselves or earn our way to heaven. The good news is that Jesus came for us. Jesus brings us forgiveness for our sins. Jesus doesn't turn us away because of our doubts. God has accomplished everything for our salvation. We are blessed, not because life always goes as planned, but because Jesus did not stumble in his mission. He lived perfectly where we have failed, and through his cross and resurrection, he gives us faith that can withstand the brokenness of this world. Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for meeting me in my doubt and disappointment. Help me to trust your Word and your work, even when I can't see what you're doing. Remind me that your good news is for me too. Amen. Daily Devotions is brought to you by WELS. This Sunday, we slowed down a familiar story and discovered just how disruptive it really was. In Luke 2, the announcement of Jesus' birth may have taken only about 30 seconds, but in that moment the veil between heaven and earth thinned, time seemed to pause, and everything changed. What looked small—a baby in a manger, an announcement to shepherds—was actually God making a move that would shake the universe. While everyone else was expecting a king on a throne, God introduced the birth of Jesus, first to shepherds.Luke, the only Gospel writer to include the shepherds, wants us to see something essential: God does not see humanity through social status, credibility, or influence. He sees us through availability. Shepherds—considered culturally unreliable and untrustworthy—became the first witnesses and the first evangelists of the Messiah. From the very beginning, the gospel revealed itself to be upside-down, surprising, and deeply hopeful. This story may be two thousand years old, but it's still unfolding. The question it leaves us with is simple: Are we available and are we paying attention to when God moves in ways we didn't expect? May our hunger for God grow, our expectations be reshaped, and our hearts stay open to the kind of Kingdom that still turns the world upside down.Merry Christmas! For more info, you can go to our website, check us out on Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube. What began as a study of last-days events has evolved into a deeper realization: Zion's redemption and the rise of the Divine Feminine are inseparable.Drawing from LDS canon, apocryphal texts like The Gospel of the Beloved Companion, ancient traditions, temple symbolism, and universal archetypes, Meghan shows how the feminine principles of intuition, relationship, heart-centered wisdom, and spiritual authority have always been woven into prophecy. She explores Mary Magdalene as “the tower,” Zion as the bride, the birthing symbolism of the new heaven and new earth, and the ways masculine and feminine partnership create the spiritual maturity required for Christ's return. This episode dives deep into: • the parable of the tower • the true meaning of Magdalene • the feminine role in death, rebirth, and the millennium • Zion as a feminine state of being • the partnership of masculine and feminine energies • global prophetic traditions pointing to feminine renewalA powerful close to the year and an invitation to reclaim the feminine in your own spiritual path.Timestamps00:00–02:00 | Closing the year and reflecting on the podcast journey 02:00–05:00 | Moving from prophecy study into the Divine Feminine 05:00–07:00 | Asking deep spiritual questions before you're ready 07:00–12:00 | Parable of the Tower and its prophetic meaning 12:00–15:00 | Magdalene as “the tower” and her true identity 15:00–18:30 | The tower as feminine presence and spiritual being 18:30–23:00 | Two feminine archetypes: virgin and fallen daughter 23:00–25:00 | Feminine principles as prerequisites for Zion 25:00–30:00 | Zion, Jerusalem, and the Bride symbolism 30:00–33:00 | Birthing the new heaven and new earth 33:00–39:00 | Isaiah's five birth metaphors 39:00–43:00 | Zion as unified heart and mind 43:00–50:00 | Global traditions confirming the feminine archetype 50:00–56:00 | How to rebuild the tower within ourselves 56:00–60:00 | Zion as a state of being and the return of Enoch 60:00–End | Closing reflection and blessing for the new year Thank you for listening to Hidden Wisdom! Following the murder of filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, Todd examines President Trump's controversial Truth Social response and the broader reaction from both the left and the right. This episode isn't about defending bad comments or excusing cruelty—it's about drawing clear moral lines. Todd contrasts decency versus mockery, justice versus violence, and politics versus the value of human life. He also challenges conservatives to reject the same depravity they condemn and calls for restraint, empathy, and moral clarity. Ultimately, Todd makes the case that America's deepest crisis isn't political—it's spiritual—and that only truth, accountability, and the Gospel can heal a broken culture.

E432 Inner Voice – A Heartfelt Chat with Dr. Foojan and Josh Tomeoni In this powerful episode of Inner Voice, Dr. Foojan Zeine sits down with Josh Tomeoni, founder of Ex-Derelict and author of The Gospel of an Ex-Derelict: Fight. Fail. Rebuild. Josh brings a rare blend of lived experience and professional insight as a 19-year fiduciary financial planner turned men's coach, working with high-performing men navigating divorce, identity loss, and major life transitions. The conversation opens with a deep exploration of how divorce and trauma place every person at a crossroads—a choice between the path of health or the path of destruction. Josh challenges common gender stereotypes, explaining that while men and women don't choose different paths, they often cope in different ways. Men tend to numb through work, sex, substances, or avoidance, while women may rely on relationships or even therapy in ways that can become ineffective if true growth stalls. As the episode unfolds, Dr. Foojan and Josh explore neuroscience-based differences in emotional processing, the role of culture and attachment, and how comfort zones—work for men, relationships for women—can either support healing or quietly sabotage it. They emphasize that healing requires active engagement, accountability, and results—not passive coping or endless talking without progress. Josh shares his personal story of divorce, spiritual awakening, and the moment he realized that avoiding pain only made it return stronger and more destructive. This realization shaped both of his books and his mission to help men rebuild wealth, masculinity, purpose, and legacy in their second act of life. In the second half of the episode, Josh introduces his latest book, The Gospel of an Ex-Derelict: Fight. Fail. Rebuild., a powerful blend of memoir and practical guidance designed to help men integrate mental, emotional, spiritual, and financial clarity. Rather than promoting surface-level fixes like money or physical appearance, Josh focuses on identity reconstruction, intentional masculinity, and purposeful living after loss. The conversation concludes with a profound reminder: the only way forward is through the pain. Avoiding discomfort only guarantees deeper suffering later. Growth, healing, and strength come from facing hard truths directly—and doing the work when it matters most. ⏱️ CHAPTER TIMESTAMPS (CLICKABLE) 00:00 – Welcome to Inner Voice with Dr. Foojan 02:26 – Meet Josh Tomeoni: Ex-Derelict & Men's Coach 05:52 – Divorce from the Male Perspective 07:14 – Spiritual Awakening After Divorce 08:30 – Numbing Pain Through Sex, Substances & Avoidance 10:29 – Why Men Feel Alone After Divorce 12:02 – The Traps Men Fall Into During Divorce 13:04 – Do Women Heal Faster Than Men? C.S. Lewis came to faith once he realized that the Gospel was both myth, appealing to his heart, and fact, appealing to his mind. The Pugs discuss what he meant by myth and apply the idea to the Christmas story—how it embodies archetypes found in myth and legend throughout history. Read Online“What is your opinion? A man had two sons. He came to the first and said, ‘Son, go out and work in the vineyard today.' The son said in reply, ‘I will not,' but afterwards he changed his mind and went. The man came to the other son and gave the same order. He said in reply, ‘Yes, sir,' but did not go. Which of the two did his father's will?” Matthew 21:28–31Jesus addressed this question to the chief priests and elders of the people. As the passage continues, Jesus humbles them by saying, “Amen, I say to you, tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the Kingdom of God before you.” He explains that the chief priests and elders of the people were like the second son. They gave lip service to God's commands but failed to humbly repent and obey. The fact that “tax collectors and prostitutes” were entering the Kingdom of God should give us great hope. No one is beyond God's mercy if they humbly listen to Him, repent, and begin to obey. Though neither son's response is ideal, hopefully we are more like the first son. When we hear God's Word and understand His continuously deepening call to holiness, we will find it challenging. Often, our first reaction to a deeper revelation of the Gospel is “No!” Our sinful habits are hard to break, and our fallen human nature is difficult to align with God's will. Don't be surprised if you find God's will initially challenging. As God's voice and His will become clearer, our first response must always be repentance. This should not surprise us. We must learn to build a habit of repentance if we want to grow closer to God and live His will. Initially, we often react to repentance in a negative way, but we shouldn't. Though we might be like the first son and say “no” when God calls us to obedience, if we build a habit of repentance, then we will eventually find great joy in that act. Over time, we will find that our response becomes “Yes, I will go,” and then we go, having discovered the value in obedience.Reflect today on whether you often pay lip service to God, pretending to do His will, or if you regularly experience God's call to repentance on a deepening level. Identify yourself with the repentant tax collectors and prostitutes, and imitate their humility when they were confronted with their sins. Know that repentance is the beginning of freedom and is the first step toward greater unity with God. My demanding Lord, every command You issue is a command of love. Though obedience to You is often initially challenging, help me to see the great value in it. Give me the courage and fidelity I need to hear Your voice, repent of my sin, and obey You in all things. Jesus, I trust in You.Image: Andrei Mironov, CC BY-SA 4.0, via Wikimedia CommonsSource of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2025 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved.
