Welcome to the Apogee Fitness Podcast. Today we had the honor of sitting down with Shanna Medeiros, the mother of 2021 Fittest Man on Earth, Justin Medeiros. We dive deep into her background growing up, into how her experiences shaped her into the woman, wife and mother she is today. We talk a lot about success and Life Lessons (not failures) and how you can't have one without the other in athletics and life in general. We talk in depth about being The Fittest Man on Earth's mother, and her philosophy regarding raising children, and motivating them to be the best version of themselves in every facet of life. We talked about a near fatal injury that occurred a few years ago involving her husband and how her family rallied together during that time; a very powerful story. It was really cool to get a mother's perspective of raising a son who has become a well known professional athlete in the CrossFit space. Athletes threw down on Day 2 of the 2021 Rogue Invitational and shook up the leaderboards. “I am completely mind blown, honestly. I've been an Annie Thorisdottir fan for her entire career since I became interested in the Sport of Fitness, and to see what she has done and strung together from even at the CrossFit Games to now, in front of us at this Rogue Invitational, is absolutely unheard of … . Her returning — as a mother — to the sport and to show such capacity, such resiliency, is not just inspiring, but it's amazing.” —Adrian Conway Reporter Niki Brazier and four-time Games athlete Adrian Conway take you through all the highs and lows on the second day of competition, dissecting the leaderboard and noting impressive performances from Justin Medeiros, Annie Thorisdottir, and more.
