It's Tuesday, April 22nd, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Pope Francis, who affirmed homosexual ideology, has died Hebrews 9:27 says, “It is appointed once for man to die, and after that the judgment.” The Roman Catholic Pope Francis died Monday of a stroke and heart failure, reports The Epoch Times. He was 88 years old. Francis was not shy to enter into international politics. The pope had recently stated that the Trump administration policies removing illegal immigrants would “end badly.” He had also approved of the Vatican policy allowing church blessings for homosexual couples living in unnatural relations one with another. And he made numerous comments publicly lauding those who advocate LGBT ideology. Francis will also be remembered for his signing over the installation of Catholic bishops in China to the Communist Government. The deal was first signed in 2018, and then renewed in 2020, 2022, and 2024.  U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo commented on the travesty, stating that “It's clear that the Sino-Vatican agreement has not shielded Catholics from the Party's depredations, to say nothing of the Party's horrific treatment of Christians.” King Charles references Islam in his “Easter message” Sadly, the King of England took opportunity in his “Easter message” to refer to Judaism and Islam, instead of representing the Christian faith, reports The Christian Post. Referring to Jesus, King Charles said, “The love He showed when He walked the Earth reflected the Jewish ethic of caring for the stranger and those in need, a deep human instinct echoed in Islam and other religious traditions, and in the hearts of all who seek the good of others.” Ostensibly, King Charles III is the head of the English Anglican Church. No wonder the Disciples of Christ tweeted, “King Charles is neglecting his role as Defender of the Faith.” UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, an atheist, was a little more encouraging to Christians in his Easter message, referencing the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as “a story of hope, redemption and renewal.” He also referred sympathetically with “Christians facing hardship, persecution or conflict around the world who cannot celebrate freely.” Supreme Court: Can parents opt kids out of LGBT propaganda? The U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments today from parents in Maryland concerning the public school ban on their opting out their kids on storybook readings on homosexual pride parades, gender transitions, and drag queens, reports USA Today. Mostly Muslim and Christian parents have wanted to opt their children out.  Colorado set to punish parents for objecting to kid's gender transition The Colorado State House has approved what may be the worst bill in the nation. The current legislative wording is geared to criminalize parents for disagreeing with their children on gender identity, compel speech, and punish those who hold faith-based or scientific beliefs about sex and gender, reports The Gospel Coalition. Specifically, Colorado liberal legislators could punish a parent guilty of “deadnaming” which is using the transgender child's birth name or “misgendering” which is using pronouns that align with the child's actual biological sex. The legislators describe these actions as forms of “coercive control” which would be considered threatening or intimidating behaviors that courts could consider when determining child custody. Republican Rep. Chris Richardson spoke out against the bill. RICHARDSON: “This is not protecting children, it's weaponizing the courts against parents.  This would allow a parent who may be navigating an incredibly complex and emotional issue with their child to lose custody for not affirming a gender identity they may not understand.” Last week, pastors gathered at the capital to protest the bill.  Leaders included Pastors Matt Patrick of The Well Church in Boulder, Chris Goble of Ridgeline Community Church in Castle Rock, and Matt Johnson of BRAVE Church in Englewood. The bill is heading for the Democrat-dominated Colorado Senate for approval. Will pastors stand in the gap? Ezekial 22:30 reads of impending judgment:  “And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the breach before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.” Is Colorado the most anti-gun state? Colorado is also poised to become the most anti-gun state in America. Indeed, 12 bills restricting gun rights have already passed.  The state legislature is considering a record 18 more anti-gun bills this season, which would further restrict gun rights, as monitored by the Rocky Mountain Gunowners Association.  Family arrested for “kidnapping” own kids over vaccine issue A Massachusetts homeschool family has been arrested for “kidnapping” their own children. They are held on a $200,000 bond or $20,000 cash bail. The couple's five children have reportedly been taken into custody by Child Protective Services. The extreme response was allegedly sparked by the parents' informed decision to decline to vaccinate their healthy nine-month-old baby, on what they called “sincerely-held religious beliefs.” They had attempted an escape to Texas, where they were hunted down and arrested. Walgreens pays $350 million for prescription Walgreens has agreed to pay up to $350 million for allegedly filling unlawful opioid prescriptions, without taking the time to confirm that the prescriptions were lawful, reports Fox 4. The suit was filed by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Drug Enforcement Administration. This is in addition to paying $5.5 billion for a plethora of suits filed by local and state governments. Walgreens is on a path to bankruptcy, planning 1,200 store closures in the next few years. Drug overdose deaths have killed 1.25 million Americans since 1999 — more than the deaths caused by COVID-19.  Dow and the Nasdaq composite dropped The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 1,000 points, and the Nasdaq composite slipped 3.5% on a Bear Monday. The NASDAQ registered an 18% drop since the first of the year. Meanwhile, gold topped $3,400 per ounce —another record high. The gold-to-silver ratio reached 105-fold — an all-time high. Historically, the ratio has been 20 to 1.  Pat Boone is back And finally, Pat Boone is back on the charts with another Adult Contemporary Hit. With a little help from Lee Greenwood, Vince Gill, Larry Gatlin, and Alabama, the singer released We Are One — with the hope the proceeds will fund clean water in Tanzania, Africa.  Take a listen. BOONE: “One. I am one. Like no other human being, I am one.” GREENWOOD: “And in my life, there is a meaning. There is worth. There is a purpose like no other on this planet, I am one.” ALABAMA (RANDY OWEN AND TEDDY GENTRY): “One. We are one. When good people come together, we are one.” GREENWOOD: “And in our oneness, there is purpose, there is honor, there is courage, when we put our hearts together, we are one.” (African children singing) Half of Tanzania does not have clean drinking water. You can make a donation on the website www.OneForTanzania.org/give Remarkably, Pat Boone will be 91 in June.  The singer set a new record for the longest span between songs on the adult contemporary chart -- 63 years, eight months, and three weeks.   Boone has four children  16 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Psalm 127:3 says, “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, April 22nd, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe for free by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. We're celebrating our 10th anniversary all year by digging in the vaults to re-present classic episodes with fresh commentary. What better way to kick things off than where it all began? Here's a look back at episode one and our conversation with Jim Peterik.  ABOUT JIM PETERIKSinger, songwriter, guitarist, and keyboardist Jim Peterik is best known as a founding member of the band Survivor and the co-writer of their Grammy-winning double platinum #1 hit single, “Eye of the Tiger.” But that's only the tip of the iceberg. Thirty-five of Jim's songs have appeared on the Billboard Pop chart, including seven Top 10 singles. His first major success came when his original band, Ides of March, took the Peterik-penned “Vehicle” to the #2 position on the Pop chart in 1970, spawning cover versions by Chet Baker and Shirley Bassey. After a stint as a solo artist with Epic Records, Jim formed Survivor in 1979, penning a string of hits for the band, including “I Can't Hold Back,” “High On You,” “The Search is Over,” “Burning Heart,” and “Is This Love.” While still writing hits for his own group, Jim forged a successful partnership with the members of 38 Special, co-writing classic songs, including “Rockin' Into the Night,” “Hold On Loosely,” and “Caught Up In You.” Widely respected as a top-notch collaborator, Jim has co-written successful songs with a number of artists, including the Beach Boys, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sammy Hagar, Cheap Trick, the Doobie Brothers, REO Speedwagon, and Mindi Abair. The long list of those who have covered his compositions includes Paul Anka, Gloria Gaynor, Tony Orlando, Reba McEntire, Larry Gatlin, Blackhawk, and The Outlaws. He is the co-author, with Dave Austin, of Songwriting for Dummies.

Date: March 1, 2023Name of podcast: Backstage Pass RadioEpisode title and number:  S4: E7: Bailey Rae - Oklahoma Girl & Gypsy CowboysArtist Bio -Bailey Rae is a rising singer/songwriter with roots planted deep in country music. Growing up in a musical family, she started her collection of classic country vinyl at an early age and was gifted many country albums belonging to her great-great-grandmother. Listening to those legendary voices like Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard, Emmylou Harris and Don Williams, Bailey Rae quickly discovered a love for classic country music which continues to be a big influence in her voice and musical style today.Since the age of thirteen, Bailey Rae has been performing regularly on stages from Texas, and Oklahoma to Arkansas and from Branson, Nashville, and Pigeon Forge. In 2020, she had the opportunity to share her pure country voice with millions of fans on the biggest stage of her life – NBC's The Voice, where she had the honor of becoming the first true country artist to ever be on Team Legend. Bailey Rae's Blind Audition was a very memorable moment with both Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson making promises to steal her if she became available on the show. She quickly caught the attention of country music fans from across the nation and finished The Voice Season 19 as a Top 9 Semi-Finalist out of 40,000 auditions for the season. One could say that Bailey Rae has always been drawn to the big stage, as she discovered her love for performing at just five years old when joining a competitive clogging team. Over the years, she won multiple National Championships and competed at a World Dance Championship competition. Bailey Rae had been singing in church for years and after hearing of a vocal coach in Denison, Texas, she began performing with the Shawnda Rains Entertainment Group. While on her first performance trip in Branson, Missouri, Bailey Rae realized her desire to sing on stage and immediately hung up her clogging shoes to start the pursuit of a career in country music. This small-town Oklahoma girl calls Texas her second home and was named the 2020-2021 Ambassador for the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. Bailey Rae has opened for country music greats such as TG Sheppard, Whispering Bill Anderson, Jeannie C Riley, Linda Davis, The Scott Family, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, Doug Stone and Texas Country Artists, Flatland Calvary, and Jake Worthington. In October 2021, Bailey Rae was invited by her Voice Coach, John Legend, to share the stage with him at the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK to sing a duet. It was an amazing opportunity and something she will never forget. Bailey Rae has also headlined many shows, festivals and events, and tours regularly with her band.ponsor Link:WWW.ECOTRIC.COMBackstage Pass Radio Social Media Handles:Facebook - @backstagepassradiopodcast @randyhulseymusicInstagram - @Backstagepassradio @randyhulseymusicTwitter - @backstagepassPC @rhulseymusicWebsite - backstagepassradio.com and randyhulsey.comArtist Media Handles:Website - www.baileyraemusic.comInstagram  - https://www.instagram.com/baileyraemusic/Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/baileyraemusicTwitter - https://twitter.com/baileyraemusicCall to actionWe ask our listeners to like, share, and subscribe to the show and the artist's social media pages. She is undeniably one of the most eloquently emotive vocalists of modern times. In the studio with us is award winning recording artist Lorrie Morgan. Lorrie shares with us what it has taken to be successful, the perils and pitfalls that have gone along with it, and the desire she has to keep going. Morgan also shares with us how she and her late husband, and Country music legend (and recent Country Music Hall of Fame inductee) Keith Whitley met, her time with Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, and her close relationship with Naomi Judd. Lorrie also explains how she has become the official Ambassador for “Nashville Hot Chicken”, and with the help of some of her famous friends, have created a music video promoting the Nashville staple.  Lorrie Morgan has been around great songs all her life. She is a Nashville native who is the daughter of Country Music Hall of Fame member George Morgan. She made her debut on the Grand Ole Opry stage at age 13, singing "Paper Roses." Her father died suddenly of a heart attack at age 51. She was 16 at the time and just beginning her musical career. Lorrie Morgan began making her own records shortly thereafter and was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry at just 24 years old. Morgan married fellow country singer Keith Whitley in 1986. She was signed to RCA Records in 1987, and her onslaught of hits began the following year. Whitley's tragic death of an alcohol overdose in 1989 left her a widowed working mother. Their duet "Til a Tear Becomes a Rose" earned her a 1990 CMA award. Her first three albums, Leave the Light On (1989), Something in Red (1991) and Watch Me (1992), all earned Platinum Record awards. Her Greatest Hits collection (1999) is also Platinum. War Paint (1994), Greater Need (1996) and Shakin' Things Up (1997) are all Gold Record winners. She sang "The Sad Cafe" on Common Threads: Songs of the Eagles, which was named the CMA Album of the Year in 1994. Country fans voted Lorrie Morgan their TNN/Music City News Female Vocalist of the Year in 1994, 1996, 1997 and 1998. Lorrie Morgan, the first woman in her genre to begin her career with three consecutive Platinum albums, is back in the studio with award-winning producer Richard Landis, working on a new album. It is sure to be yet another collection showcasing the rainbow of emotions, from darkest heartache to bright, shiny humor, that is the hallmark of Morgan's range. Concurrently, Morgan is working on a second project of original songs co-written with Larry Gatlin. "Where I am in my life right now, I'm not afraid to express what I feel," she says. “I'm not afraid to express my views on anything, especially on being a woman and my experiences in this business and in life.” Morgan is known for her lustrous vocal phrasing and the down-to-earth believability of her torchy performances. On records such as “A Picture of Me Without You" and "I Guess You Had to Be There," the ache is palpable. She is feisty and sassy on "Watch Me," "What Part of No" "Five Minutes" and "I Didn't Know My Own Strength." She has kicked up her stiletto heels in fun on her hits "Except for Monday" and "Go Away." On her epic "Something in Red" she is an honest, struggling everywoman. She has been a daughter, a bride, a mother, a divorcee, a widow, a single mother, a breadwinner and, ultimately, a survivor. In many ways, Lorrie is a living, breathing country song, and she knows what she sings. She is a peerless song interpreter, drawing from a deep personal well that spans enormous tenderness to cheeky hutzpah. Whether covering a classic or sharing one of her own songs, Morgan is truly a song stylist in the grandest tradition. "I have always been a songwriter and I do love to write," she comments. "But I'm only comfortable co-writing with a few people, and I don't like appointment writing at all. Plus, I'm not one of those people who says, 'If I didn't write it, I'm not going to record it.' If somebody else's song is better, I'm going to record it and not my own. Morgan has recorded in collaboration with her father, as well as Whitley, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, Tammy Wynette, The Beach Boys, Dolly Parton, Andy Williams, the New World Philharmonic, and Pam Tillis. She has toured with George Jones and shared a stage with Jerry Lee Lewis, newly inducted into the Country Music Hall Fame along with Whitley. “My children and I are thrilled to see Keith's name added to the list of stars who've earned their place in the Country Music Hall of Fame,” she says. “It is a well-deserved honor, though Keith himself would've been painfully humbled. I am happy for his family and the many, many fans who continue to point to Keith as one of the all-time greats.” "My dad used to say, 'You should never take yourself too seriously,' and I got my sense of humor from my dad. I love to have fun. I've reached the age where I feel that I deserve good company around me, people who can make me laugh, who love music and who love to have a good time.” The Business Side of Music ™ © 2022 Lotta Dogs Productions LLC Showrunner and Executive Producer Emeritus: Tom Sabella Producer and Host (the guy who has a face for podcasting): Bob Bender Co-Producer - Audio/Video Editor (the man behind the curtain): Mark Sabella Director of Video and Continuity (the brains of the entire operation): Deborah Halle Marketing and Social Media (all knowing): Sarah Fleshner for 362 Entertainment All Around Problem Solver (and Mental Health Therapist for us): Connie Ribas Recorded inside an old beat up Airstream Trailer located somewhere on what's left of Music Row in Nashville TN (except during pandemics, then it's pretty much been accomplished VIA Zoom or over the phone, with the exception for those fearless enough to come to Bob Bender's dining room… and there have been a few that have survived). He's written an autobiography called “All the Gold in California,” a nod to the title of one of his hit songs. He's won numerous awards and has seen success on and off of the stage. Legendary singer-songwriter Larry Gatlin shares some of his songwriting tips, including how to steal from yourself at times! He talks about how growing up in church and listening to Gospel music greatly influenced his (and his brothers') style of harmony. Larry shares a story about beating out a local band fronted by the great Roy Orbison in a children's music competition in Texas. He discusses being brought to Nashville by famed songwriter Dottie West, whose house acted as a music-motel for other up and coming songwriters, such as Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson. Larry dives into great detail on the stories, inspirations, and writing processes behind many of his hit songs, including “Houston,” “I've Done Enough Dyin' Today,” and “All The Gold In California.”Performances:“Houston” - Larry Gatlin“I've Done Enough Dyin' Today” - Larry Gatlin“All The Gold In California” - Larry GatlinTo stay up to date with Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers, head on over to https://www.gatlinbrothers.comMore info on Songs From The Cellar & details on how to watch the TV series can be found at https://www.songsfromthecellar.comKeep up with Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers on Social media at:FacebookInstagramInstagram (Band)TwitterTwitter (Band)SpotifyFollow Phil Vassar and Songs From The Cellar at:FacebookInstagramTwitterYouTubeSpotifyCheck out more awesome podcasts at:American Songwriter Podcast NetworkAnd go!
