“You've finally gotten your home so organized that you're ready to have guests over, and that makes me happier than you could ever possibly imagine,” says host Corinne Morahan. In today's episode of Get Organized for Good, she dives into the art of entertaining at home and hosting parties. Corinne offers her top tips on creating a welcoming atmosphere, setting up the perfect spread, and ensuring everyone feels comfortable and included—all while keeping the stress off your shoulders. From setting the mood to setting the table, and from prep time to cleanup, Corinne covers it all. She discusses everything from lighting to playlists, serving pieces, and even the best trash bags to use. This episode is especially useful for those who, like Corinne, love food but aren't fans of cooking. She shares her go-to small-bite spreads—including the ideal charcuterie board—so the party can center around good conversation, great company, and, of course, cocktails. Corinne also explains how to get guests and even local businesses involved in providing the food. If you've been following Corinne's advice on getting organized, your home should be ready to welcome your favorite people and create lasting memories. Tune in to hear her thoughts on whether—and when—to play party games, her two “big offenders” that are banned at parties, and her take on marble countertops. Quotes “All of these things that we think are secondary to hosting, I actually think are primary to it and it takes the pressure off the food which is the thing I am least good at. I love delicious food and I love a great meal, but I don't feel like I have to have the best, most delicious food every time I eat. And if I'm going to someone's house for a party, I don't need to eat the best things. I need to eat some things, but the food is never the thing, unless it's the thing.” (7:32 | Corinne Morahan) “If you put nothing else out, but you have a beautiful charcuterie board, you are ahead of the game.” (11:51 | Corinne Morahan) “One thing to really keep in mind as you're hosting is that everyone wants to bring something. No one's going to show up to your house empty-handed, and if you don't tell them what to bring they're going to bring you a bottle of wine, probably—which is great, especially if you're a wine-drinker—or you could ask each person to bring something. It is a little bit more work for them, but people want to bring something anyway.” (14:38 | Corinne Morahan) “I got a question on how to prepare ahead of time. For me, I barely have to do any prep because my house is set, I have all the serving pieces.” (17:14 | Corinne Morahan) “I want you to love hosting because it can be so fun and I want you to realize through everything I've shared that you can do it in a way that is easy, where it doesn't require a ton of prep time.” (24:47 | Corinne Morahan) Connect With Corinne: https://www.gridandglam.com/ https://www.corinnemorahan.com/ https://www.instagram.com/gridandglam/ https://www.instagram.com/corinnemorahan/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/corinnemorahan/ https://www.facebook.com/gridandglam https://www.youtube.com/@gridandglam1 Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

Redeeming lost time through God's redemption leads to transformative change and alignment with His will. The concept of redeeming time, originating from Ephesians 5:15-16, is more than just efficient time management. It's a profound spiritual principle that speaks to God's ability to restore lost time and facilitate personal growth and transformation, aligning us with His divine purpose. Rylee Meek's perspective on this topic stems from the belief in being intentional with our time, allowing for reflection, rest, and spiritual growth. He emphasizes that time is more valuable than money and should be used wisely to serve God and others. Similarly, Christian Edwards views redeeming the time as seizing every opportunity to serve God, show love, kindness, and care to others, reflecting Christ's attributes. He believes in the power of God to redeem lost time and fast-forward us to a better place spiritually and personally, ultimately underscoring the importance of living out our faith actively and making a difference in the world.Believe in God's power to redeem lost time and fast-forward us to a better place spiritually and personally, ultimately underscoring the importance of living out our faith actively and making a difference in the world.TakeawaysRedeeming lost time through God's redemption leads to transformative change and alignment with His will.Rest and reflection are essential for productivity and well-being, as seen in the example of immigrants heading west.Efficiency and time management are enhanced through rest, preparation, and reflection.Being intentional with time allows individuals to be more productive and impactful, embodying Christ's attributes.Sharpening tools for efficiency involves resting, reflecting, and spending time in the Word of God.Utilizing time wisely to serve God and others is crucial, prioritizing love, kindness, and true productivity.Distractions and deception can lead individuals away from their goals and faith, emphasizing the importance of valuing time and staying focused.Quotes"All things work together for the good of those that love him and are called according to his purposes." - Rylee Meek"The idea of redeeming the time is like a shrewd businessman buying up all the opportunities that he can." - Christian Edwards"He was redeeming the time by sharpening his axe, sharpening his tools, and. And then when he worked, he was more efficient at being able to do those things." - Rylee Meek"The enemy's greatest tools to get us away from God isn't something that's so, like, he's not going to try if we're on track with the Lord. He's not trying to get us to do a 180. That would be some catastrophic thing. All he has to do is get us to veer off a little bit." - Christian Edwards"Evil is just running rampant, and if there's any opportunity for light to shine on it and truth be exposed, then so be it." - Christian EdwardsJoin the King's Council Community: https://joinkingscouncil.com/Follow King's Council: https://www.instagram.com/kingscouncilcommunity/Follow Rylee: https://www.instagram.com/theryleemeek/Follow Christian: https://www.instagram.com/christian_edwards01/Subscribe to YouTube page:
How can short-term rental hosts create unforgettable experiences that capture their guests' imaginations and souls? In this episode, Angel Williams and Elam King dive into the challenges and opportunities of managing short-term rentals. They discuss the difficulties of finding accountants who understand the complexities of the industry and the importance of economies of scale in property management. The conversation also explores the difference between amenity-rich and experience-rich properties, with Elam emphasizing the power of capturing people's imaginations through unique and creative experiences. By focusing on the deeper needs of guests, such as love, joy, and peace, short-term rental hosts can create unforgettable stays that go beyond mere physicality. Elam King grew up on an Amish farm but never grew to appreciate it. However, he did like his job in his teens of rebuilding manure spreaders. Yeah, they were dirty!! :) He finds great joy in turning crap into gold. Elam is an Airbnb superhost focused on making Airbnb investments profitable. He bought his first house (a 7 bedroom city home) in 2007 and totally rehabbed it. Elam and his family house-hacked it, by living in 2 bedrooms and renting the other 5 out. To date, this has been one of their best deals. His favorite Airbnb investments are ones that need rehab. It gives him the opportunity to make them what he wants–a unique experience for the guests. Elam grew his Airbnb portfolio to about 3.5 million in 2023 and wants to scale to a lot more in 2024. [00:00:00] - [00:03:00] The Challenges of Finding the Right Accountant 1. Short-term rentals are relatively new, making it difficult to find accountants who understand the industry's complexities. 2. Hosts may spend more time explaining the business to accountants than actually getting their accounting done. 3. The lack of industry-specific accounting solutions can lead to high bookkeeping costs. [00:03:00] - [00:06:00] Economies of Scale in Property Management 1. As hosts acquire more properties, they need to consider the time commitment required to manage them effectively. 2. Residential properties, even when purchased with a commercial loan, can be more time-consuming to manage than larger, commercial properties. 3. Hosts should evaluate deals based on both the financial numbers and the time investment required. [00:06:00] - [00:09:00] Creating Destinations and Capturing Imaginations 1. To stand out in the hospitality industry, hosts can create unique experiences that capture guests' imaginations. 2. Properties with themed rooms or creative amenities can become destinations in themselves, attracting guests willing to pay a premium. 3. Hosts should consider the specific needs and preferences of their target audience when designing their properties and experiences. [00:09:00] - [00:12:00] The Difference Between Amenity-Rich and Experience-Rich Properties 1. While amenities are important, experiences are what truly capture guests' attention and encourage them to open their wallets. 2. Hosts can create experiences by adding elements of mystery, fun, and creativity to their properties. 3. Long-term rentals, such as class B and C apartments, typically focus more on amenities than experiences. [00:12:00] - [00:17:00] Meeting the Deeper Needs of Guests 1. Beyond physical amenities, guests have deeper needs for love, joy, and peace that hosts can address through unique experiences. 2. By focusing on the soul and emotions of guests, hosts can create unforgettable stays that go beyond mere physicality. 3. Happiest people are not necessarily those with the most luxury, but those whose deeper needs are met through meaningful experiences. Quotes: "All of us have deep fears and deep desires, and it's not necessarily physical. Physical is what we see. But really at the root of it, at the root of who we are, we need love, joy, and peace." - Elam King Connect with Elam: Website: www.rewonder.com Visit sponsorcloud.io/contact today and unlock $2,000 of free services exclusively for REI Rocks community members! In the latest Messy in the Middle episode, Jefi and Ed discuss the impact of interest rates and the Federal Reserve on the real estate market in 2024. They explain how lower interest rates will lead to a surge in buyers, increasing competition and driving up prices. They advise buyers to act now before they get priced out of the market, and sellers to take advantage of the current low inventory and put their homes on the market. They also discuss the potential effects of zoning changes and increased housing density.Key Takeaways:The Federal Reserve is expected to cut interest rates by mid-2024, potentially affecting mortgage interest rates and the real estate market.Buyers currently waiting on the sidelines may find themselves priced out as property values continue to rise while inventory remains low.Sellers currently enjoying low rates should consider listing their homes now due to the increased buyer demand, which may shift when rates drop. The episode emphasizes the urgency of getting into the real estate market and considering less-than-ideal property types as investment stepping stones.Local government zoning changes are creating opportunities for increased housing availability, potentially affecting market dynamics in certain regions.Quotes:“All the analysts are saying by June, plus or minus a month, rates are going to, they're going to start cutting their rates and they're going to come down and that's going to have effects for buyers and sellers." -Ed"Your competition as a buyer is about to explode because once interest rates go down, the buying pool grows." -JefiTIMESTAMPS(01:14) Importance of interest rates for sellers (08:49) Shortage of buyer activity and lack of inventory (14:22) Governments are changing zoning to allow for more housing inventory(16:25) The impact of lower mortgage rates in 2024 and more homes on the marketCONTACTMessy in the Middle: messyinthemiddlepodcast.comEd Billings: edbillings.com

I have an awesome and beautiful podcast for you today from Dr. Elisha Goldstein—founder of the Center for Mindful Living in Los Angeles, CA, along with his wife, co-founder Stefanie. They do incredible work there and this interview was one of the best discussions I've had for this show—and it will stop all us distracted, multitasking, text binging, social media addicted modern humans in our tracks and rock our world! We all know the dangers and drawbacks of hyper-connectivity and distractibility, and our diminishing focus and mindfulness in hectic modern life, but we seem to be collectively shrugging our shoulders, complaining a bit here and there, and carrying on, glued to our devices. My visit with Dr. Goldstein had a deep impact on me, because he explained beautifully how our repeated use of technology gets integrated into habit. We have engaged in “intentional practice and repeated it until it becomes automatic–until it becomes habit.” We often talk about habit-forming in a positive context, but what about undesirable, stress-producing behaviors that have become habits to our detriment? We know that humans are wired to respond with a dopamine burst to novel stimulation in our environment; in primal times it was a rustling in the bushes, today it's the ding of text message. Dr. Goldstein explains that he too loves technology and while it can improve our lives in many ways, we have to be mindful and disciplined in our use of technology. In this episode, we discuss the difficulty of transforming to a new way of being because of the powerful force of habits and Dr. Goldstein explains how we can take control and experience more happiness and peace in daily life through three simple steps. Remember, habit retraining requires repetition and endurance. Dr. Goldstein has written books like Uncovering Happiness, The NOW Effect, Mindfulness Meditation, MSBR Every Day stands for (mindfulness based stress reduction). He operates the Center for Mindful Living in Los Angeles with his wife Stefanie. They offer an awesome six-month intensive online Course in Mindful Living with expert guidance and group support. Slow down, relax, and listen carefully to this show. TIMESTAMPS: Practicing mindfulness has brought tremendous peace to many who desperately need escape from the stresses of today's life. [00:43] We are constantly pulled in many directions. [04:36] Hyperconnectivity can become a habit and therefore hard to control. [12:17] If you stop to rest or meditate, you might be inspiring the folks around you to take a break too. [16:08] Our behaviors are contagious to other people. [19:21] Learn to take note of when your body is bracing. [24:25] It is helpful to have some disciplined activity, especially first thing in the morning. [28:35] Peeling an orange changed Dr. Goldstein's life. [33:34] The brain is always on the lookout for issues that can cause problems. [36:04] Blame is often misdirected when we have uncomfortable emotion. [38:20] Learn to really pay attention to yourself and others. [41:50] We are addicted to stimulation. There is surprising power of waiting/boredom. Imagine if you mastered restlessness and anxiety. [46:47] When you are relaxed, you are more open to inspiration. [51:55] Learn to forgive yourself for not doing something that you had intended to do. Managing light is one of the keys to a smoother menopause, says Dr. Candice Knight, a renowned expert in integrative medicine. On this episode of The Quantum Biology Collective, Meredith Oke and Dr. Knight dialogue about the connection between circadian rhythm and hormone regulation. Dr. Knight reveals that a disrupted circadian rhythm can lead to imbalanced hormones, resulting in symptoms like brain fog, fatigue, and changes in libido. But here's the twist: the solution lies in aligning our lifestyle with the natural rhythms of light and dark. By optimizing our exposure to natural light during the day and minimizing artificial light at night, we can support our mitochondria, the powerhouses of our cells, and promote optimal hormone production. Dr. Knight emphasizes the importance of living in sync with our physiology, as it can have a profound impact on our overall well-being. Quotes: "All of the protocols that we go over that help make menopause smoother are actually really good to start as early in life as possible." (01:52 | Meredith Oke) "There's a disconnect between the balance of estrogen and progesterone. And normally it's the progesterone that's starting to drop first. As we enter menopause, you start to see a dip in both hormones to the point that after a year of no menstrual cycle, we consider that menopause. (7:03 | Dr. Candice Knight) "The circadian rhythm is the orchestra and then the mitochondria is the factory for making them." (32:14 | Dr. Candice Knight) "The foundation is to regulate circadian rhythm, lots of natural light during the day and very minimal artificial light at night." (38:53 | Meredith Oke) "If our mitochondria are stressed and overloaded and dysfunctional due to all these other stressors, then the menopausal symptoms are getting more extreme and our response to any kind of medication or hormones is gonna be inconsistent. " (42:04 | - Meredith Oke) “All roads lead back to this whole having a balance of being in performance mode and being in repair mode. What does artificial light at night do? It robs us of that repair mode. So that detoxification repair is just not happening optimally. With this toxic environment we live in, where junk foods fill up our stomachs and busy schedules that keep us at night, being healthy is a challenge. But if we understand how important it is, together with exercise, we will begin to strive to achieve a healthy body. Stan Efferding shares his life experiences and advice about being healthy and strong. We all wish to be healthy, and we do everything we can to have it. Being healthy starts with having a proper diet, eating habits, and having sufficient sleep. In doing so, your road to a healthy lifestyle is there. Tune in as they chat about health, training, leadership, life, business, and more! Quotes: “All the growth comes from eating and sleeping; it must be repetitive. But it's important to reiterate that sufficient calories and sleep is what going to make you recover from and super compensate and to get stronger in preparation for the next bout of tearing your body down.” – Stan Efferding “Working at a young age teaches you a lot, such as showing up on time, working hard, and earning money. But it also teaches you about the things that you don't want to do for the rest of your life.” – Stan Efferding “One thing I really like about strength training, in particular, is it's measurable, progressive, and immediate feedback. So If you go to the gym, and you don't perform as well as you did the previous week, there is a problem. ” – Stan Efferding Takeaways: It is important to be mindful of your diet and sleep, as well as keep tabs on the quality because it will help you recover and prepare your body for the next training. Having work experience at a young age is beneficial as it can teach you proper work ethics. But more importantly, it will help you realize what you don't want to do for your life. If you go to the gym and do strength training, your body should have progress. It should constantly grow and grow over time. If not, there is a problem with your diet or sleep schedule, or maybe you are stressed. Conclusion: Growth comes from having a proper diet and having quality sleep. Therefore, if you want to grow, be healthy, and be stronger, focus on it. Together with resistance training, such as lifting weights, you will see growth in your body.

Key takeaways: • Control what you can and let go of what you cannot control. • After adversity strikes, take time to recover. Seek out resources to determine what happened and why it happened and get back out there. • Don't compare yourself to other athletes, because your success may look different from their success. The road to success is rarely a straight line. In today's world, people are used to seeking out instant gratification, but becoming a successful athlete does not happen overnight. Instead, success comes from consistency and continuing to show up even in the face of adversity. In today's episode, Amanda Marek, triathlete and triathlon coach, speaks with Dr. Andrew Fix about how to keep pushing forward after a setback. When Amanda was 7 years old, she was diagnosed with a seizure disorder. Doctors told her mother that she should be pulled from all sports, but her mother had other ideas. She refused to give up on her daughter and instilled that same tenacity in Amanda. After falling in love with triathlons in her senior year of college, Amanda pushed herself to train hard and entered her first full IronMan in 2015. Even though she was in love with endurance sports, success did not come easily. She continued to have issues with the running portion, culminating in a huge blow out in 2018 where she had a seizure 400 meters from the finish line. Where many people may have given up after such an adverse event, Amanda pivoted, seeking out the resources she needed to recover properly and making a new plan for how to best prepare Amanda's body for a successful run. The road to success is full of ups and downs. It's all about staying consistent and getting back up after each mistake or setback. If you are interested in trying a triathlon, you absolutely can make it happen with dedication and a lot of hard work. Quotes • “All too often I think people see really everything from sport to your professional life to social, everybody sees it as a straight line. But it's a lot of ups and downs. It's a lot of mistakes and getting back up and getting to the top of that straight line.” (8:45-9:11 | Amanda) • “There's no shortage of options on how you can do this and how you can be successful. I'm a big advocate for anyone getting involved in the sport.” (25:24-25:37 | Amanda) • “Consistency is the most important thing.” (25:50-25:53 | Amanda) • “We live in a society where there's kind of this need for instant gratification…you have to make that decision to show up and put the work in.” (26:54-27:38 | Amanda) • “I had a seizure 400 meters from the finish line. And, being the stubborn person I am and knowing what happened and knowing my body, whether it was right or wrong, I crawled to the finish line.” (43:08-43:22 | Amanda) • “It's really important to not compare yourself to every other athlete because what they do is going to be a lot different than what you do, and your success may not look like their success.” (59:44-59:59 | Amanda) Links Flux Footwear https://snwbl.io/flux-footwear/andrewfix 10% off Xero Shoes: 10% off https://xeroshoes.com/go/drandrewfix drinklmnt.com/physioroom - free variety pack with purchase. Join host Chad Sutton as he speaks with Curtis Mayon. Curtis May is the creator and owner of Practical Wealth Advisors (PWA) and host of The Practical Wealth Show Podcast. The primary focus of his financial planning firm is to help individuals and families become financially free by following the principles of wealth creation that have endured for centuries around the world. This episode covers the five principles of accumulating security, wealth, and growing that wealth: saving 15-20% of one's gross income, maximum protection through insurance, full replacement of assets at death, liquidity by having 6-12 months' worth of income in cash, and velocity which is looking for cash-flowing assets rather than chasing capital gains. Through this discussion, listeners will learn about the different schools of thought when it comes to financial advice and investment strategies, such as accumulation theory and the velocity method. Curtis will also provide key takeaways such as becoming an active passive investor by creating a wealth capture account and paying yourself first from your source of earned income. “We don't stop at the barriers of our skin. We are intimately connected to the terrain within us, the microbiome, but that terrain expands throughout the universe,” explains Dr. Catherine Clinton, licensed naturopathic physician and quantum biology educator. Dr. Clinton was diagnosed with a slew of health issues from ulcerative colitis to Lyme disease all while in her second year of medical school. This led her to learning more about the connection between light and mitochondrial health. Today, she shares how connecting with nature can be used to improve mental health. The whole body is a messaging system. Chronic diseases and sickness occur when there are blockages within the body's communication system. These blockages are often a symptom of the modern lifestyle and come from sources like artificial light, processed food, and chronic stress. When the body can't communicate effectively within itself, the immune system becomes deregulated. It's important to #tendyourterrain, or your microbiome because your body is connected with everything in the universe through #quantumbiology. When your internal and external terrain are out of sync, your physical and mental health suffer. Connecting with nature is a great way to regulate your body and improve your mitochondrial health. The negative health impacts of chronic stress and the modern lifestyle can last indefinitely if they are not addressed. Going barefoot in the grass, getting morning sunlight, and eating clean, unprocessed foods are relatively simple changes that can help restore the connections within your body's messaging system. Quotes “All of these connections, the immune system, the gut, the heart, our neurological connection, our fascial connection, the way our mitochondria communicate, our whole body is a messaging system.” (7:01-7:18 | Dr. Clinton) “The blockages in the communication are where our sickness and our chronic disease really stem from.” (8:47-8:55 | Dr. Clinton) “That stressor, that trauma, that chronic stress, and the changes that happen in our body can last a lifetime if they're not addressed.” (18:35-18:45 | Dr. Clinton) “We don't stop at the barriers of our skin. “Differences should be celebrated, not eliminated,” says Darryl Colon, the first guest on the new season of Cuckoo 4 Politics. Darryl, who has several advanced degrees in the field of psychology and mental health, explains that differences among races are nothing more than genetic adaptations to regional climates. Yet, the enormous power of imagery, particularly the medium of film, has profoundly influenced the way races feel about themselves and each other. He explains that Black characters, particularly Black men, who behave in a way deemed unacceptable by society, will never make it to the end of a film or novel. “Unacceptable” behavior, oddly enough, includes acting with bravery, intelligence, or initiative. Michael recalls that in the 1986 movie “Top Gun,” two minor but recurring Black characters were not featured in the film's epilogue sequence the way all the white characters were. Even movies like Black Panther have hidden messages suggesting dire consequences for Black characters who act too decisively or with too much confidence. This kind of messaging has a profound effect. Darryl cites a famous study called the “Black Doll/White Doll '' experiment begun in the 1940s wherein children, both Black and white, were shown a Black doll and a white doll and asked which doll was beautiful, intelligent, good. Up until recently, throughout each experiment, the children chose the white doll. Black people, Darryl says, have been fighting off stereotypes assigned to them by Europeans 500 years ago in an effort to justify the slave trade. Before then, people from the African continent were making major contributions to science and letters, like the basis of the Pythagorean theorem. Another major contribution is Hip Hop music, which, though originally dismissed by mainstream radio as being too “urban,” is now celebrating its 50th anniversary with stars of the genre dominating media and branching out into parallel fields like fashion. Michael opens and closes the show on this topic, as well as the declaration of Juneteenth as an official holiday. While many corporations have embraced the holiday, many of their celebrations are off-key if not exploitative. Michael quotes, “Black history should be viewed as another way to celebrate us as a nation, like the Fourth of July.” Quotes “All these racial differences are genetic adaptations to environmental factors, but we use them to separate and categorize and say one's better than the other, but it's all BS.” (18:06-18:19 (Darryl) “There was a time when you only had Ebony magazine or Jet magazine to see someone like yourself. But when you looked at other national magazines, even in this country, you would only see predominantly white models on the front covers.” (19:49-20:06 | Michael) “Movies are huge in terms of their impact on how people think and what they aspire toward. The impact of media and film is incredible. Everyone wants to be like what they see in the movies.” (28:20-28:37 | Darryl) “Racism as we know it today is a very recent development in the course of human history. Prior to that people from the African continent contributed to the world's technology, science, culture, art and trade as much as anybody else. Europeans had to develop an anti-black narrative in order to justify the institution of slavery.” (29:56-30:47 | Darryl) Links cuckoo4politics.com https://www.instagram.com/cuckoo_4_politics/ https://www.facebook.com/Cuckoo-4-Politics-104093938102793 Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

“All entrepreneurs, all influencers, and all thought leaders should be considering something like a podcast, because it gives you that chance to build trust ahead of time,” shares Danny Ozment, owner of Emerald City Productions. In this episode we discuss the reasons why you should consider starting your own podcast. A podcast is a fantastic way for people to build connections and trust with their target market. By starting a podcast and posting consistently, your listeners will build a relationship with you and begin to see you as an authority in your specific area. As your podcast grows, your body of work grows and continues to add to your authority. There are podcasts just about every topic under the sun. So even if you don't believe your industry would be a good fit for podcasting, you're probably wrong. Podcasts serve as a referral marketing system because you can establish trust before meeting someone in person - especially for service-based providers like doctors, lawyers and consultants. Starting a podcast is easier than ever before when it comes to technology. As long as you are consistent and willing to take the plunge, podcasting can take your business further and secure your position as a thought leader in your industry. Quotes “All entrepreneurs, all influencers, all thought leaders, all professionals brick and mortar should be considering something like a podcast, because it gives you that chance to build trust ahead of time.” (8:52-9:04 | Danny) “I often talk about it as referral marketing on a grand scale, because it is the chance for you to establish trust and friendship with people that have a problem and need to go to a friend to ask advice and have their problem solved. And you can point them in the right direction, which is you while you're the host of a podcast.” (15:12-15:31 | Danny) “There was actually a recent study that was released in the psychological journal PLOS1 that found that participants who listen to more podcasts per month and developed parasocial interactions with the hosts of the podcast actually felt more related to others and had more significance in their lives.” (17:28-17:51 | Danny) “You may think, ‘oh, a podcast wouldn't be right for my industry'. But literally, there's a podcast about everything.” (27:29-27:34 | Danny) Links Resources: Take the quiz to find out the best way to get your podcast launched & produced: https://emeraldcitypro.com/discover-podcast-services/ Connect with Danny Ozment: Website: https://emeraldcitypro.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DannyOzmentPodcasting Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dannyozment/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dannyozment/ ==== Thank You For Listening! Change is inevitable, however it is how we view change that can be manipulated especially when it comes to ourselves. We are all constantly evolving with our strengths and skills, whether or not that evolution is to become the best version of ourselves is entirely up to us. In today's episode Sarah Elkins and Natalie Jobity discuss owning strengths and how they can shift and change over time, as well as how it is integral to seeing and appreciating every version of yourself. Highlights What narrative do you still hold on to that someone else gave to you? You have to challenge yourself because if you become complacent and accept your limitations you will never achieve the best version of yourself. Be mindful of when people criticize you for your hardcore talents that make you good at what you do. Quotes “All of us are multi-gifted and multifaceted, we don't have to box ourselves into “Well I can only be creative and do this” or “I can only be strategic and do that.” “And I just went headfirst, believed in myself, I just- I look back and I'm like “What?!” What gave me the gall? What gave me the confidence, the bravado, all the words to think that I can build something from nothing. Like literally from nothing, and that's what I did!” “Looking back on my life and my careers and different things, “You have always been really savvy, you have always been ahead of things.” But I used to think of when I would explain things to people they wouldn't understand me, and I thought that's because I was stupid or I wasn't that smart or I'm not communicating well, and now I see it as because you were always ahead and they didn't know what you were thinking because they hadn't caught up yet.” About Natalie Natalie Jobity is a Leadership Coach, Personal Brand Strategist, Author, and Speaker. She integrates her 25 years of marketing, image consulting, entrepreneurship and coaching expertise with her strategic prowess, creative ingenuity, intuitive sensibilities and her innate ability to spot potential to help women rise to their highest leadership echelons as the “Brilliance Unveiler.” Natalie brings an authentic, customized, intuitive approach as she helps purpose-driven women unveil their brilliance, so it becomes potent, powerful, and purposeful with ripple-making effects for years to come. Natalie is the author of Amazon best-selling Frumpy to Fabulous: Flaunting It, and her newly published leadership empowerment book, It's Your Time to Shine, Girl: Own Your Brilliance, Step into Your Influence, and Lead Like a Trailblazer. She wrote the latter to inspire women to bring their brand of brilliance to the fore so they can lead like the trailblazer, game-changer, and changemaker they are meant to be and to give them the tips, tools, and techniques needed to succeed and thrive as women of influence. About Sarah "Uncovering the right stories for the right audiences so executives, leaders, public speakers, and job seekers can clearly and actively demonstrate their character, values, and vision." In my work with coaching clients, I guide people to improve their communication using storytelling as the foundation of our work together. What I've realized over years of coaching and podcasting is that the majority of people don't realize the impact of the stories they share - on their internal messages, and on the people they're sharing them with. My work with leaders and people who aspire to be leaders follows a similar path to the interviews on my podcast, uncovering pivotal moments in their lives and learning how to share them to connect more authentically with others, to make their presentations and speaking more engaging, to reveal patterns that have kept them stuck or moved them forward, and to improve their relationships at work and at home. Whether you are new to Hennapreneur or have been a part of the community from the beginning, it is important to understand the vision behind Hennapreneur to fully see how it can help you to achieve your business goals. In this episode of Hennapreneur, host Chelsea Stevenson takes a look back at how Hennapreneur got started and the vision that has been propelling the dream forward all along. Chelsea started her business in 2011 and went full time in 2014. She realized there was a need in the market for Hennapreneur because henna artists are typically grossly underpaid and the majority of henna artists never reach financial freedom through their art. She decided to create programs that would help henna artists thrive not only financially, but also in their personal lives with more time freed up for themselves to devote to their families, relationships, and other commitments. With Hennapreneur, Chelsea works to create a route around the systemic inequities that typically hold women back in the Western world. Through her help, her clients are able to generate full-time income from part time work and receive the compensation they deserve for their artistic talents. When it comes to caring for our bodies, most of us know that we should be doing a little bit of everything — from eating healthy foods to getting regular exercise, to taking care of our skin. But when it comes to specifically taking care of the hair down there, many women don't know where to start. Today we discuss the lack of vaginal and skincare products aimed at women of color and how our guest is bridging this gap and allowing these women to take care of their pubic area without feeling dazed and confused. Dr. Cynthia Wesley is a practicing physician and an entrepreneur; she is the founder and CEO of Beauty Below, a product line and resource for intimate wellness and beauty for women with dark skin and course hair. Dr. Wesley, or Dr. Cyn, as she is known, is a true warrior for women, and she has used her negative experience dating back to her college years to assist other women in identifying and resolving any issues ‘below the waist'. Stay tuned to find out what products Beauty Below offers, how women of color differ in the area ‘down there', and how Dr. Cyn fights to empower women of color on a daily basis! You can subscribe or listen to previous episodes of the Busine$$ of the V podcast by clicking here. TOPICS COVERED: Meet Dr. Cynthia Wesley, the founder and CEO of a company called Beauty Below. Her company's hashtag, #BlackVaginaConfidence, speaks volumes about their goals and objectives. According to Dr. Wesley, women of color are more prone to ingrown hairs, dark sports, bacterial vaginosis, and other similar issues. The most important goal is to give women of color confidence and education about their intimate space so that healthcare disparities can be addressed. Just like many other vagipreneurs, Dr. Wesley started this company based on personal experience, as she had been struggling with pubic hair since college. The essential products at Beauty Below are a medicated shave moose, an ingrown hair serum, and pads for dark sports ‘down there'. Dweck wants to know how product formulations were developed and who was involved in the process. There are several differences between white women and women of color when it comes to the area below the waist, which inspired Dr. Wesley to write a book titled Beauty Below, where women can find all sorts of tips and medical advice for properly treating their vaginas. Bacterial vaginosis is directly related to vitamin D deficiency; in other words, if you're having problems down there, check your vitamin D first! Dweck adds a few more topics to the discussion, including douching, boric acid, and probiotics. Your diet is also very important for your vaginal health since it directly affects the health of your entire body. According to Rachel, Beauty Below launched in July, and Dr. Wesley adds that the products are available on the company's website. Wesley is still in practice and she's also running her business, so Dr. Dweck is astounded and wants to know how she does it. Rachel is curious about the origins of the ingredients and the products, and we learn that all products are made in the United States, and all labs are certified. Since this is an ongoing debate, Dr. Dweck asks the following question: Hair or bare down there? Wesley treats all women as if they were close family members, doing her best to help and educate them on their intimate space. Apart from the website, you can also find Beauty Below on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. As for the latest products, Beauty Below has just released their booty bundle, which includes a booty mask, a sugar scrub, and a shower loofah. HOT FLASH: It seems that approximately 80% of women ages 18-65 report that they remove some of all of their pubic hair. QUOTES: “All women have suffered over the years with the negative connotations that can be associated with our most intimate space, and sometimes that's exacerbated in women of color.” (Dr. Wesley) “I feel that it's very important that women of color are confident in their intimate space, confident with being okay with speaking up and learning what they need to learn.” (Dr. Wesley) “I started researching what works and what doesn't work; I was my personal Guinea pig. And what evolved was Beauty Below.” (Dr. Wesley) “I found out that women of color actually have a different type of lactic acid than white women, and that particular lactic acid has a higher pH, which makes you a little bit more prone to bacterial vaginosis.” (Dr. Wesley) “There was a huge study done at the University of Pittsburgh, and what they discovered is that bacterial vaginosis is directly tied to vitamin D deficiency.” (Dr. Wesley) “I imagine the trust and the connection to your users is critically important and that they want to know where the ingredients are sourced from and where the products are made.” (Rachel) “Hair or bare down there? In my neck of the woods, it seems there's just not that much hair to deal with, and I don't think this is a trend that's going away anytime soon.” (Dr. Dweck) “If you want to do a little bit more down there, for whatever reason, I'm okay with that. You just need to know what your risks are.” (Dr. Wesley) “You have such a clear vision of who you want to help, how you want to help and, very importantly, the tone of the conversation that you want to have.” (Rachel) “Educating women is the cornerstone of Beauty Below.” (Dr. Wesley) FURTHER RESOURCES: Beauty Below www.beautybelowmd.com Dr. Wesley @Linkedin LINKS FOR BUSINE$$ OF THE V: Website: www.businessofthev.com Twitter : @businessofthev Instagram : @businessofthev Subscribe to our Youtube channel : Business of the V - YouTube Dr. Alyssa Dweck: https://drdweck.com Rachel Braun Scherl: Home - Rachel Braun Scherl

When anyone sets out on their Twin Flame journey, they are eager to know everything they can about their Twin Flame. And while this is a normal way to begin, Elle reminds listeners that it is actually our fear-based energy driving our motives to control everything. In today's episode, host Elle Hari answers the question, what does it mean when someone says, “your soul knows everything?” It is almost human instinct to believe that your mind can control every aspect of your life. And while you can manifest certain things to happen, it is not your mind doing this, it is your soul. In fact, your soul is what orchestrates everything in your life. And regardless of whether you're the push or pull energy on your Twin Flame journey, it is still your fear-based energy trying to unintentionally control your mind. And once you balance your energy, you will allow your soul to do its job. Regardless of what you may think you know, your soul knows better. Learn more about removing the barriers within yourself so that you can find true love along your Twin Flame journey. Quotes • “All of the need to know more, and to keep learning more about your Twin Flame is your fear-based energy. And your fear-based energy controls your mind.” (03:33-03:41 | Elle) • “Your soul is doing and orchestrating everything in your life. It is in control.” (03:15-03:20 | Elle) • “You're not able to manifest everything into your life because some of those things might be out of the realm of what your soul deems is for your highest good.” (06:20-06:30 | Elle) • “You are your soul. Your soul is magnificent, it's omnipresent, it's limitless, it's boundless.” (06:37-06:40 | Elle) • “The whole point of balancing, aligning, and moving through this journey is really the unlearning of what you have learned in your mind.” (12:13-12:27 | Elle) Links To discover all of the ways we can assist you along your Twin Flame journey, please click here: https://linktr.ee/ellehari Take the free Twin Flame Quiz and check out the brand new Be With Your Twin Flame app here: https://be-with-your-twin-flame.passion.io/ Follow Alaya Life on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thealayalife/ Get your exclusive listener offer at Alaya Life ~ The Apothecary For Ascension™️ (will be applied at checkout): https://thealayalife.com/discount/elle15 Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
Raised in the suburbs of New York, Marcia Seligson traded in her concert pianist ambitions to explore and pursue her passions for travel and musical theater. Her first book, The Eternal Bliss Machine, America's Way of Wedding was a best-seller. I will take care of them.” - Mother Teresa “I love working, I love projects and I don't know what I would do if I didn't do all this.” “I made nine trips to Africa all on safari because I love that. That's where I find God, when I look at those animals in the wild living their lives having nothing to do with human beings where we're second class characters. If somebody offered me a ticket tomorrow I would pack my suitcase and go back to Africa. I love it so much.” “I don't think we march through anything with total confidence.” Mentioned: www.marciaseligson.com Foundation of New American Musicals My Mother Would Hate This Book A Gentleman In Moscow https://bonniemarcusleadership.com/ https://web.facebook.com/bonnie.marcus/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/bonniemarcus https://twitter.com/selfpromote https://www.instagram.com/self_promote_/ Gendered Ageism Survey Results Forbes article 5 Tips to own the superpower of your age IAMMusicGroup Purchase my book Not Done Yet on Amazon: If you enjoyed this episode of Badass Women Podcast, then make sure to subscribe to the podcast and drop us a five-star review.

Dr. Kristen Donnelly, one of The Good Doctors of Abbey Research, is an international empathy educator. She has two decades of experience and an educational background in social work. Dr. Donnelly uses her PhD in social sciences to help people all over the world learn about empathy through her Ted Talks and hybrid, in-person, and virtual coaching. She shares her tips for how to use empathy to counter burnout after it helped her get through her own burnout in 2020. Tune into this episode to learn more. “What we have come to define empathy as is intentional understanding of yourself and others,” explains Dr. Kristen Donnelly. Dr. Donnelly reports experiencing several burnouts throughout her life, but says that her worst was in 2020 when the lockdowns started happening. Empathy played a large role in getting her through burnout, because it allowed her to change her perspective. By de-centering herself from the experience, Dr. Donnelly realized that everyone was human and was doing their best. She shares that empathy requires intentionality and curiosity. She was able to understand that while she could not control what was happening in the world, she could control her own reactions and use her privilege to help make things better for others. Tune into today's episode of FRIED. The Burnout Podcast for a conversation with Dr. Kristen Donnelly about what empathy actually means and how to work at it until it becomes a natural reflex. Learn how to shift your perspective and appreciate the things that are within your control and how empathy for yourself and others can help you to heal from burnout. Quotes • “All of us want to be heard and understood. So how can I heal from this exhaustion of not being understood? I can seek to understand others.” (11:00-11:11 | Kristen) • “What can I control? What can I handle because there's people on this planet right now, who can control almost nothing in their lives? So in honoring them right now, I have control and power. How can I leverage my control and power over my own life in respect to the fact that they have none? So part of de-centering yourself is understanding your place in global humanity, which I think then lets you really understand that on most days, you're doing okay.” (14:04-14:32 | Kristen) • “For me, the best way to feel heard and understood was to seek to hear and understand others. (12:10-12:19 | Kristen) • “What I know deeply is that If we decenter ourselves from our life experience, perspective becomes easier to obtain.” (12:48-13:03 | Kristen) • “If you can choose to see comparison as a fact rather than an emotion, things get a little bit easier to navigate.” (19:17-19:25 | Kristen) • “It is important for me to understand that I do not have it as bad as other people in some ways. I also have to understand that does not invalidate what I am going through. Multiple things can be true at once.” (25:32-25:50 | Kristen) • “What we have come to define empathy as is intentional understanding of yourself and others. It's making less assumptions and asking more questions.” (36:01-36:16 | Kristen) Links http://www.argooddoctors.com http://www.instagram.com/abbeyresearch http://www.linkedin.com/in/kristendonnellyphd http://bit.ly/ARDigest https://www.abbey-research.com/words-we-dont-say-anymore-online-training/ XOXO, C If you know that it's time to actually DO something about the burnout cycle you've been in for too long - book your free consult today: bit.ly/callcait https://friedtheburnoutpodcast.com/quiz Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm Learn more about your ad choices. We are all looking for a place to belong, whether it be in clubs at our schools or cliques at our workplaces. However, Texas-born rapper Tedashii knows firsthand that the “home-shaped holes” in our hearts are spaces that only God can truly fill. In this episode of Where Ya From? podcast from VOICES, Tedashii shares how Jesus took the passions that often made the artist stand out and turned them into a ministry and career. Guest Bio: Known for his distinct, deep voice and versatile flow, Texas-born rapper Tedashii made his debut in 2005 as a member of the 116 Clique, a hip-hop group associated with Reach Records. Since then, he's gone on to an acclaimed solo career—his 2014 album Below Paradise even debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard 200s albums chart. More recently, he's launched his first podcast: The Dash. Notes & Quotes: “All the while God was orchestrating the path, using football, using family, painful points, and moments in history to get me to this moment. Like I tell everybody, I went to Baylor to get saved, not to get a degree.” “It's not enough that you get to run around and share the gospel with your friends. They can reject that. But when you make public stances, it draws a line in the sand.” “And now I think the music is both the thing that glorifies God and the way in which I choose to wield it is the thing that glorifies God.” “Grief, in my opinion, is love persisting.” Links Mentioned: Visit our website to sign up for emails.
