Launched on January 3rd 2019, a whole decade after Bitcoin, Beam is the first MimbleWimble implementation to hit the markets. Unlike its smiley cousin Grin, Beam is organized more like a start-up, was more efficient in raising VC funding, and appears to focus more on smart contracts and interoperability with other chains. In this episode, Beam CTO Alex Romanov explains everything about the network: what it is, how it works, and what it aims to accomplish with the MimbleWimble technology. The incomparable Eléonore Blanc comes back on the podcast to ramble endlessly, including about the ETH 2.0 merge, and how the final merge to proof-of-stake will impact both Ethereum as well as Bitcoin as the last major proof-of-work chain in the running. We also cover Litecoin adding MimbleWimble and how this has impacted its listing on exchanges, in particular in South Korea, and if the privacy trade-off is worth it. We also go deep into NFTs (much to Eléonore's chagrin), including the first ever restraining order served via NFT, as well as the market itself remaining resilient and everything else that entails. And finally, we award Eléonore the very first ever minted Digital Cash Rundown guest NFT! Donate - Sponsors Thank you so much for listening! It has never been more important to focus on privacy coins. With social credit driver's licenses in places like Utah (many other places to follow), vast surveillance by the tyrannical state, massive levels of inflation and the move towards a great reset, Epic is a project built on Mimblewimble which easily defends people against this inevitable foe. Max Freeman explains the ins and outs of Epic Cash, where to get it (Vite Wallet), why it's different from other privacy coins and how it can be used as a currency as well as to be mined. The scarcity proponent on top of the privacy and of course the coming Christmas airdrop of ERC tokens makes this one of the most bullish looking currencies of the decade. A live recording of our interview and Q&A with David Burkett, the Litecoin developer responsible for the implementation for MimbleWimble onto LItecoin. We go through some basic understanding of how transactions work today and how they will look different once MimbleWimble is live.

Introduction One feature that lacks in many public blockchains in the crypto sphere is privacy build-in. MimbleWimble is coming for Litecoin that will bring a privacy element. You might have heard recently of the high gas fees on the Ethereum network. This will push people to find another way to lower the fees and instant transaction confirmation. What is cool! Polygon is a second layer that will bring low fees and instant transactions. What's covered in this podcast I cover the following elements in this podcast: Litecoin: Privacy feature that is coming with MimbleWimble Article: https://cryptoslate.com/litecoins-mimblewimble-privacy-upgrade-is-ready-to-roll-on-march-15/ Polygon: Ethereum-compatible blockchain networks. Welcome to the 1 Bitcoin Show! It is time to go over the big stories of the day. What is noise and what is important? Should you sacrifice for BTC? The same old gold story. Is $400K a year rich in a society where fitting in is the ultimate goal? What is up with HSBC? In this era of abundance there are some people who will always desire victimhood and view life as a dark enterprise and thus be willing to encourage forcing productive people into servitude or worse. Today Dylan Dewdney joins us to discuss how BTW.com provides education, ecosystem growth and the tools to help people achieve their economic freedom. A prescient and accurate analyst of market behavior, social psychology, and overall societal trends, Dylan first developed an awareness of how to spot mass movements through graduate level studies in Social Theory under Dr. Michael Gardiner. Leaving academia for the business world, Dylan entered the security industry in 2010, learned the business, and quickly rose from an entry-level administration role to the directorship of the overall growth strategy of a national security firm. About two years later, Dylan started a lifelong interest in cryptography, the blockchain, and decentralized systems, when he first read the Bitcoin whitepaper. This interest continued and strengthened and grew and he started mining as a hobbyist and became active in the Toronto crypto community, discovering the Ethereum project, where he participated in their ICO. As the Ethereum ecosystem grew, so too did Dylan with it, to become an advisor, investor, builder, and participant in many projects. In 2017 he co-founded Harbour DAO, which became an open-standard set of tools for building governance structures and voting mechanisms on the blockchain. As Chief Evangelist and one of its first team members, Dylan had deep professional involvement in the early development and go to market plan of the world’s first privacy coin built on the MimbleWimble protocol, BEAM. As BEAM moved to a foundation model, he joined with AdEX as Head of Growth, helping to build out their go to market strategy. Currently, AdEx is the largest payment channel on the Ethereum network by a very large margin, and Dylan remains as an advisor to the project. Dylan mixes his skills as an analyst, growth-driver, and independent researcher to identify products and paths to market that can and may escape others. He is a steadfast believer in the significance and power of blockchain to change the world and our lives in a positive way. Bringing all these skills to bear, Dylan is only too pleased to help lead the growth, strategy and awareness as Co-Founder of BTW.com, an exchange explicitly focused on the politically transformative effects of blockchain. Traditional financial systems are operated in connection with politics by their very nature, as currencies are state backed, historically winning by getting reserve currency status. Through the control of money, institutional empires are formed, from the Dutch Guilder to the British Pound to the US Dollar, and systems of domination find expression rooted in their ‘wealth privilege’. Bitcoin and crypto in general is wholly disconnected from any central entity, actor, or authority—not only is it a neutral technology but it carries the promise of changing the historical finance ‘game’ entirely, placing crypto as an important medium to any modern resistance. It's called Mimblewimble, otherwise known as the tongue-tying curse. It's also the name of a privacy technology designed for cryptocurrencies—because, well, somebody's gotta keep crypto weird. The first coins to use Mimblewimble—distinct efforts called Grin and Beam—both launched in January.
Today I talk with Max Freeman with Epic Cash, Epic.Tech . Epic is a new POW coin that uses aspects of MimbleWimble Dandelion and CoinJoin to create a privacy centered platform without a lot issues of predecessors.

*** this is not financial or legal advice*** MimbleWimble has been hailed as a scaling solution to the bitcoin network. But, what is it? Beam is creating a payment network that utilizes MimbleWimble, so who better to give us a 101 on MW than the CEO Alexander Zaidelson. Welcome to a special CROSS EPISODE where this week Monero Monitor does a guest episode on our network. In July 2016, an unknown developer going by the name "Tom Elvis Jedusor" dropped a link to a Tor hidden service on the bitcoin-wizards IRC channel. In it, he revealed a new protocol dubbed "Mimblewimble" after the tongue-tying curse in Harry Potter, because "it is used to prevent the blockchain from talking about all user's information". In the time since, multiple researchers and developers have continued to flesh out and build on Jedusor's innovation, in many respects led by Andrew Poelstra, a Bitcoin developer and mathematician at Blockstream. This deep dive with Andrew covers the technical details of Mimblewimble's scaling and privacy-enhancing features, discusses the real world logistics of using the protocol, and looks at some of the coolest features enabled by the technology. We discuss how Bulletproofs can help both Mimblewimble and Monero better scale, and also touch on how ValueShuffle might further improve privacy in Mimblewimble.
