Xi Jinping invoked the Thucydides Trap in his meeting with Trump, and host Matt Trump has thoughts. Lots of them. In this episode, Matt traces the concept from its single-line origin in ancient Greek history through its revival by Harvard academic Graham Allison in 2012, where it became a sophisticated-sounding argument for American defeatism and Chinese inevitability. The problem? Allison's history is shoddy, his Athens and Sparta example ignores the Persian Empire pulling the strings behind the scenes, and he happens to be a Henry Kissinger protege tied directly to the City of London financial order. Matt also riffs on Bitcoin Pizza Day, the deep state law firm Sullivan and Cromwell getting caught submitting AI-hallucinated court documents, and the broader British imperial framework that Trump is currently working to dismantle.
GMoney emerges from the Coffey Bunker after a month off to deliver a Bitcoin Pizza Day episode stacked with cypherpunk history and clown world updates. The main event is a conversation with Paul Rosenberg, the cypherpunk pioneer, longtime author, and builder of the Crypto Hippie VPN whose anonymously published novel A Lodging of Wayfaring Men reads like a prequel to the Bitcoin white paper. Paul walks through the three moments that shaped his libertarian worldview, his run-ins with retiring NSA fans of his products, why he ignored Bitcoin at first, and why he thinks the purity of the protocol is what guarantees the world cannot stay the same. After the interview, GMoney rifles through the week: Iran accepting Bitcoin for safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, the Clarity Act clearing committee on 5/13, Kevin Warsh confirmed as the seventeenth Fed chair, Admiral Paparo confirming the US runs a Bitcoin node, the ARMA bill, and a closing argument that opting out of the tax system is the only vote that actually counts.

Hosts: Bruno Perini (@bruno_perini) e Malu Perini (@maluperini)Convidados: Felipe Sant'Anna (@felipether) e Matheus Moura

Bitcoin has smashed a new all-time high of $111,861 on CoinMarketCap—and it happened on Bitcoin Pizza Day! Exactly 15 years ago, Laszlo Hanyecz spent 10,000 BTC on two pizzas in what's now seen as the first-ever real-world Bitcoin transaction. Today, those two pizzas are worth over $1.1 billion. Absolutely insane! This historic rally is being fueled by major institutional buying from Michael Saylor's Strategy, which now holds over 576,000 BTC, and a surge of inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs—over $609 million just yesterday. Adding to the momentum, a key stablecoin bill advancing in the U.S. Senate is giving markets hope for long-awaited regulatory clarity under a pro-crypto Trump administration. 2010 1 pizza = 5000 BTC 2024 5000 pizzas = 1 BTC Bitcoin Pizza Day
"The government is more than half of the economy. They control everything. What this new battleground is showing is that in the Bitcoin world, within the Bitcoin environment, they're going to have to Samourai Wallet every one of us to get that money, which means it's not going to work. There's either going to be a revolution or society goes from a quiet fraud of 60% of our wealth to guns and whips stealing 60% of our wealth. That second one is not sustainable."- Guy Swann In this episode of the Bitcoin Audible podcast, I’m excited to share my conversation from the Swan Signal podcast. Sam and I dive headfirst into the hidden truths behind money hoarding and the insidious effects of inflation on our society. We peel back the layers on how these economic forces shape our daily lives, often in ways we don’t even realize. We also discuss why we celebrate Bitcoin Pizza Day - an iconic moment in Bitcoin history that symbolizes so much more than just a couple of pizzas - and much more. This episode is a deep dive into the forces that drive our financial world and how Bitcoin stands as a beacon of hope in the midst of it all. Bitcoin was introduced in 2008 by an enigmatic figure known as Satoshi Nakamoto, whose true identity remains one of the biggest mysteries in the tech world. Nakamoto published a whitepaper titled "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System," outlining a decentralized currency system that operates without a central authority. This groundbreaking idea aimed to offer a new form of money that could be transferred instantly and securely across the globe. The story begins with the mining of the first Bitcoin block, the Genesis Block, in January 2009. Nakamoto himself mined this block, embedding a cryptic message about the financial crisis, hinting at Bitcoin's purpose as a response to traditional banking failures. Over the next year, Bitcoin remained an obscure experiment, used primarily by a small group of cryptography enthusiasts. In 2010, Bitcoin began to gain wider attention when it was first used in a real-world transaction. A programmer named Laszlo Hanyecz famously paid 10,000 bitcoins for two pizzas, an event now celebrated annually as Bitcoin Pizza Day. This transaction highlighted Bitcoin's potential as a medium of exchange and sparked broader interest. As Bitcoin's popularity grew, so did the community around it. Developers continued to refine the software, enhancing its security and functionality. In 2011, Nakamoto vanished from the public eye, leaving behind a legacy that would be carried forward by others. This period saw the emergence of Bitcoin exchanges, enabling users to trade bitcoins for traditional currencies. The following years were marked by rapid growth and significant milestones. Bitcoin's price began to climb, attracting both investors and scrutiny from regulators. The infamous Mt. Gox exchange hack in 2014, where millions of dollars' worth of bitcoins were stolen, underscored the need for better security measures in the burgeoning cryptocurrency market. Despite challenges, Institutional interest grew, with major companies and financial institutions recognizing Bitcoin as a legitimate asset class. By the end of the 2010s, Bitcoin had cemented its status as "digital gold," a store of value comparable to precious metals. Today, Bitcoin remains at the forefront of the cryptocurrency revolution. Its decentralized nature, limited supply, and robust security make it a unique financial instrument in an increasingly digital world. As Bitcoin evolves, it continues to inspire discussions about the future of money, technology, and trust in an ever-changing global economy. In this episode of Discover Daily, we explore a range of topics from the tech world and beyond. We begin with the potential sale of Humane Inc., a startup working on an AI-powered wearable device called the AI Pin. Despite significant funding and high-profile partnerships, the company has faced challenges, leading to a potential sale. We then move on to Nvidia's impressive first-quarter results, with the company's stock surging past $1,000 per share due to a 427% increase in data center revenue driven by AI demand.Next, we celebrate Bitcoin Pizza Day, marking the first real-world Bitcoin transaction on May 22, 2010, when Laszlo Hanyecz offered 10,000 bitcoins for two pizzas. We also discuss China's new AI chatbot, 'Chat Xi PT,' based on President Xi Jinping's political philosophy to ensure compliance with socialist values. Finally, we examine the increasing concern of extreme air turbulence, particularly clear-air turbulence, largely attributed to climate change. Studies indicate severe turbulence has increased by 55% between 1979 and 2020 on busy North Atlantic routes, with projections suggesting further increases. We also pay tribute to Gordon Bell, a pioneering figure in computer architecture who made significant contributions to computing, including his work at Digital Equipment Corporation and his role in the development of the internet. From Perplexity's Discover feed:Nvidia stock tops $1,000 a sharehttps://www.perplexity.ai/search/Nvidia-stock-tops-AQRTP1YOTDiOfpDfgGMLrgThe history of Bitcoin Pizza Dayhttps://www.perplexity.ai/search/The-history-of-0xnlfaWPSnGpV2ro1U2QNAChina's Chat Xi PThttps://www.perplexity.ai/search/Chinas-Chat-Xi-3dDp2SXpQbOdC4DfHTF3hAGordon Bell's computer historyhttps://www.perplexity.ai/search/Gordon-Bells-computer-W7h9wfgkTBWiG3IfqyEcKQIncrease in extreme air turbulencehttps://www.perplexity.ai/search/Increase-in-extreme-LN2CI_8iQxO2V_WNrChxtwHumane AI explores sellinghttps://www.perplexity.ai/search/Humane-AI-explores-0yI7F0qIRfOcK82dvnaGeAPerplexity is the fastest and most powerful way to search the web. Gina Sanchez, chief market strategist at Lido Advisors, says that the stock market is changing its mind so fast that every month investors have a new focus. She notes that the market has gone from favoring value to growth to defensive growth and kept rotating to where it is now back to growth, but she says that can't continue for long because the current level of "productive inflation" will stop working, leading to a slower economy in the second half of the year. While she doesn't expect a hard landing — and in fact expects a long, slow period of sluggishness — it will create volatility and conditions that favor quality, profitability and cash flow. Jennifer White discusses the latest J.D. Power research on consumer financial health, which showed modest improvement despite headline issues over inflation, although there is some concern that it's still a small group of consumers claiming improving circumstances. Plus, Kevin Walkush, portfolio manager at Jensen Investment Management, talks about quality growth stocks — with an eye towards the artificial intelligence companies that deserve the "quality" label — in the Market Call, and Chuck tells the story of Bitcoin Pizza Day, and what happened to the guys who in 2010 exchanged two pizzas valued at roughly $25 for a little more than $40 in bitcoin, which today is worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
