D4VD has gone silent. His social media is dark. His tour is canceled. But the people around him are being dragged into a grand jury room—and not everyone is cooperating. His manager Robert Morgenroth testified for days. He reportedly told his lawyer that prosecutor Beth Silverman was "very pushy" about why he didn't call police after learning a body was found in his client's car. His alleged answer: it wasn't his job. His priority was the tour. A female witness failed to show and now faces arrest to compel her testimony. She shares legal counsel with Morgenroth. In Part 2 of this interview, retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer examines what the behavior of D4VD's inner circle reveals about this investigation. We break down what prosecutors were trying to get from Morgenroth, what it means when witnesses actively resist testifying, and how D4VD's alleged asset transfers—two properties moved to his mother's name days after the raid—could factor into the case.Jennifer explains how prosecutors view a suspect who goes from cooperative to silent, what typically breaks open cases like this, and what happens next if the grand jury hands down an indictment—arrest, arraignment, bail considerations, and trial timeline. The grand jury has authority to indict and is expected to continue through February 2026. D4VD hasn't been charged. He's presumed innocent. Robert Morgenroth—D4VD's day-to-day manager, record label GM, and touring company president—testified before a grand jury for days. When he walked out, a reporter overheard him say prosecutor Beth Silverman was "very pushy" about why he didn't call police. His alleged response: it wasn't his responsibility. His job was to keep the tour going.A female witness failed to appear and now faces a body attachment order—arrest to compel testimony. Within days of police raiding D4VD's Hollywood rental, he allegedly transferred two properties to his mother and broke his $20,000/month lease. In Part 2 of this interview, retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer examines what the behavior of D4VD's inner circle tells us about where this case is heading. We break down what prosecutors are trying to establish with Morgenroth's testimony, what it signals when witnesses in someone's orbit resist testifying, and how asset transfers can factor into a criminal case.Jennifer explains why D4VD's shift from cooperation to silence matters, what prosecutors typically want when they press the people closest to a suspect, and what happens next if an indictment comes down—arrest, arraignment, bail, trial timeline. The grand jury has authority to indict and is expected to hear witnesses through February 2026. D4VD has not spoken publicly since Celeste Rivas's body was discovered in his Tesla. But the people around him have—some by choice, others under compulsion. His manager, Robert Morgenroth, reportedly spent days testifying before a grand jury and was allegedly overheard saying his priority after learning about the body was keeping the tour moving—not contacting police. A key female witness failed to appear and now faces a body attachment order. And shortly after law enforcement searched D4VD's Hollywood Hills rental, he allegedly transferred two properties to his mother and terminated his lease. In Part 2, retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer analyzes what the behavior of an inner circle can reveal when a case reaches this stage. We break down what prosecutors are likely trying to establish through Morgenroth's testimony, why repeated questioning matters, and how silence can carry weight in a grand jury setting.Jennifer explains what it typically means when witnesses resist testifying, how asset transfers can become relevant during an investigation, and why a suspect going quiet while a grand jury convenes is often strategic—but not without risk. This grand jury is no longer simply investigative. It has the authority to indict. Prosecutor Beth Silverman reportedly believes D4VD was involved in Celeste's death, and witnesses are expected to continue appearing through February 2026.D4VD has not been arrested or charged and remains legally presumed innocent. But Jennifer walks through what happens if an indictment is returned—arrest, arraignment, bail considerations, and what a potential trial timeline could look like.If you haven't watched Part 1, start there. The investigation into the death of thirteen-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez has reached a critical turning point. A Los Angeles County grand jury is now in its third week of testimony, and the people closest to singer D4VD are beginning to fracture under pressure. Robert Morgenroth, general manager of D4VD's record label and president of his touring company, spent three consecutive days being questioned by Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman. Three days for a non-target witness is extraordinary. According to reports, Morgenroth was overheard in the courthouse hallway telling his attorney that Silverman was aggressive about one question in particular: why did he never contact police after learning a decomposing body had been discovered in his client's Tesla? His reported answer was that he wanted to continue with the tour. Meanwhile, a second witness connected to the case allegedly refused to appear before the grand jury. Prosecutors responded by seeking a body attachment order, authorizing law enforcement to detain her and compel testimony. She is represented by the same attorney as Morgenroth, raising questions about coordination within D4VD's inner circle. Celeste Rivas Hernandez was reported missing from Lake Elsinore, California in April 2024. Her dismembered remains were discovered in the trunk of D4VD's abandoned Tesla in September 2025, one day after what would have been her fifteenth birthday. LAPD has officially identified D4VD as a suspect. Investigators have reportedly identified a second suspect believed to have assisted in disposing of her body. The case has been built using cellphone data, Tesla GPS logs, and social media location tracking. Retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer joins us to break down what these moves signal, why extended testimony often means prosecutors are hunting for inconsistencies, and what legal exposure witnesses face when they withhold critical information. The cracks are widening. #D4VD #CelesteRivas #TrueCrime #GrandJury #LAPD #CelesteRivasHernandez #JusticeForCeleste #RobertMorgenroth #HollywoodHills #TrueCrimeNews #JenniferCoffindaffer #HiddenKillers #TonyBrueski #TrueCrimePodcast #WitnessTampering #LegalAnalysis #LACounty #TrueCrimeCommunity #CriminalInvestigation #BreakingNews Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The grand jury investigating the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez has entered its third week — and the pressure inside that room is reaching a breaking point. Retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer joins me to break down the newest developments as the people closest to D4VD begin to fracture under questioning. This week, Robert Morgenroth — general manager of D4VD's record label and president of his touring company — spent three straight days testifying. Three days for a non-target witness is extraordinary, and it signals something major: prosecutors believe he knows far more than he's letting on. According to reports, he told courthouse staff that Deputy DA Beth Silverman was “pushy” about why he never called police after learning a decomposing body had been found in his artist's car. His alleged explanation? He didn't think it was his responsibility. He just wanted to keep the tour going. Meanwhile, another female witness reportedly refused to appear for her grand jury subpoena — prompting prosecutors to seek a body attachment order, essentially authorizing law enforcement to detain her and bring her to the stand. She's represented by the same attorney as Morgenroth, raising big questions about coordination behind the scenes. Coffindaffer walks us through what these moves really mean: – Why long testimony = prosecutors digging for inconsistencies – What liability witnesses face when they withhold critical information – Why refusal to appear can trigger aggressive enforcement – How resistance and fear inside the inner circle often signal far more beneath the surface This isn't just testimony — this is a pressure campaign. A grand jury is actively hearing evidence in the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez — and what's coming out of that Los Angeles courthouse is raising serious questions about who knew what and when. Robert Morgenroth, the head of D4vd's record label Mogul Vision and president of his touring company, reportedly testified for three days. He was overheard telling his attorney that prosecutors grilled him on why he didn't call police — and his response was that he "didn't feel it was his responsibility" and "just wanted to continue with the tour." Now a female witness is facing arrest after refusing to appear, with Deputy D.A. Beth Silverman seeking a body attachment to compel her testimony. She shares an attorney with Morgenroth. D4vd remains a suspect in the eyes of LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division. Investigators reportedly have tracking data placing him in a remote area of Santa Barbara County in the middle of the night during Spring 2025 — the window when Celeste is believed to have died. A second suspect has been identified who allegedly helped with the dismemberment. Celeste's remains were found in D4vd's abandoned Tesla on September 8, 2025. No cause of death has been determined. The pressure is mounting — and the inner circle is cracking. ⚠️ LEGAL NOTICE: D4vd has not been arrested or charged with any crime. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. All information sourced from law enforcement officials speaking to NBC, ABC, TMZ, and other media outlets.

Hosted on Acast. In their address to the IIEA, John FitzGerald and Edgar Morgenroth present their recent IIEA publication on the Northern Ireland subvention, which considers what the financial costs for the government in Ireland would be of Irish unification, using data from 2019. They discuss the findings from their paper, including that covering the Northern Ireland deficit would cost around 5% of Irish national income, and raising Northern Ireland's public service pay rate and welfare rates to levels south of the border would cost another 5% of national income. According to FitzGerald and Morgenroth, if Northern Ireland were to immediately address the cause of its very low productivity, especially the inadequacies of its educational system, when such action matured in 25 or 30 years, this could substantially reduce the cost of unification. A quicker productivity win would also be available if Northern Ireland could persuade the large number of emigrants who are university graduates living in England to return. About the Speakers: John FitzGerald is Co-Chair of the Institute of International and European Affairs Economists Group, a member of the UK Group, and an Honorary Fellow, and Adjunct Professor of Economics at Trinity College Dublin. He is also a Research Affiliate at the Economic and Social Research Institute, and a Member of the Royal Irish Academy. He was a member of the Central Bank of Ireland Commission from 2010 to 2020 and he was Chairman of the Irish government's Climate Change Advisory Council until January 2021. Dr Edgar Morgenroth is a member of the Institute of International and European Affairs Economists Group and UK Group, and a full Professor of Economics at DCU Business School, Dublin City University. He has held positions at the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI), Keele University, and the Strategic Investment Board of Northern Ireland (SIB). He is a Fellow of the UK Academy of Social Sciences and a Fellow of the Regional Studies Association, having served as its vice chairman and treasurer.

While in the Western world, gender has traditionally been viewed as binary and as following directly from biological sex, in recent years these views have started to change. Gender is now seen, at least by some, as less binary and more independent of sex. These changes are reflected in societal developments such as the growing support for transgender individuals and in new policies and practices, such as unisex bathrooms and, in some countries, the legal recognition of a third gender. To explore these questions further and to gain a better understanding of transgender issues we were joined on the Brain for Business podcast by Professor Thekla Morgenroth. Thekla Morgenroth is Assistant Professor, Department of Psychological Sciences at Purdue University. Their research examines why and how people maintain social categories and hierarchies with a particular focus on the gender/sex binary and its consequences for women and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Some of Thekla's current projects include research on opposition to policies and practices that challenge the gender/sex binary, the psychology of different feminist ideologies, the link between gender nonconformity and identity denial, and support for and opposition to the decriminalization of sex work. 2. Mai 2017 3.
Popular discourse tends to depict women as less likely than men to take risks. Christine LaGarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, famously implied that women make less risky financial decisions when she stated that the financial crisis of 2008 would not have occurred “if it had been Lehman Sisters rather than Lehman Brothers”. But are women really more risk-averse than men? Research has in fact shown that men and women are more similar in their risk preferences than commonly believed. We bust this myth with leading experts to show that women may act more risk- averse only because of gender norms that place expectations on them to do so.

Link to bioRxiv paper: http://biorxiv.org/cgi/content/short/2020.09.08.288050v1?rss=1 Authors: Faulkner, P., Paioni, S. L., Kozhuharova, P., Orlov, N., Lythgoe, D., Daniju, Y., Morgenroth, E., Barker, H., Allen, P. Abstract: Cigarette smoking is still the largest contributor to disease and death worldwide. Successful cessation is hindered by decreases in prefrontal glutamate concentrations and gray matter volume due to daily smoking. Because non-daily, intermittent smoking also contributes greatly to disease and death, understanding whether infrequent tobacco use is associated with reductions in prefrontal glutamate concentrations and gray matter volume may aid public health. Eighty-five young participants (41 non-smokers, 24 intermittent smokers, 20 daily smokers, mean age ~23 years old), underwent 1H-magnetic resonance spectroscopy of the medial prefrontal cortex, as well as structural MRI to determine whole-brain gray matter volume. Compared to non-smokers, both daily and intermittent smokers exhibited lower concentrations of glutamate, creatine, N-acetylaspartate and myo-inositol in the medial prefrontal cortex, and lower gray matter volume in the right inferior frontal gyrus; these measures of prefrontal metabolites and structure did not differ between daily and intermittent smokers. Finally, medial prefrontal metabolite concentrations and right inferior frontal gray matter volume were positively correlated, but these relationships were not influenced by smoking status. This study provides the first evidence that both daily and intermittent smoking are associated with low concentrations of glutamate, creatine, N-acetylaspartate and myo-inositol, and low gray matter volume in the prefrontal cortex. Future tobacco cessation efforts should not ignore potential deleterious effects of intermittent smoking by considering only daily smokers. Finally, because low glutamate concentrations hinder cessation, treatments that can normalize tonic levels of prefrontal glutamate, such as N-acetylcysteine, may help intermittent and daily smokers to quit.
