Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana says the Public Investment Corporation (PIC) is facing governance failures rather than financial difficulties. In an exclusive interview with the SABC team of Samkele Maseko and Busi Bopela, Godongwana says several institutions, including the Financial Sector Conduct Authority, the Auditor-General, the Special Investigating Unit and the Public Protector, are probing governance concerns at the asset manager. He says the PIC remains financially sound, but the newly appointed board must restore confidence and strengthen governance.

Show Notes Caring Beyond the Critical Care Phase What happens after a patient survives the ICU—but recovery has only begun? In this episode of Acute Conversations, hosts Dr. Leo Arguelles and Dr. Nicole Neveau welcome Dr. Rania Farhat, MD, MSHA, FCCP, an assistant professor of medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine and founder and medical director of the SSM/SLUCare Post-ICU Multidisciplinary Clinic. Together, they explore post-intensive care syndrome, or PICS, and why meaningful recovery must extend far beyond ICU discharge. Dr. Farhat shares how her clinic grew from a once-monthly idea into a multidisciplinary program connecting critical care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, pharmacy and transitional care. The conversation examines the lasting physical, cognitive and emotional effects of critical illness, as well as the burden carried by families and caregivers. Listeners will hear how the team uses measures such as six-minute walk distance, grip strength, cognitive screening and quality-of-life assessments to uncover needs patients may not recognize themselves. The group also discusses early mobility, plain-language education, care transitions and the challenge of expanding access when demand far exceeds clinic capacity. This episode invites acute care clinicians to redefine success beyond extubation or ICU discharge and ask a more patient-centered question: What happens next? Recovery is a journey, and the work begins in the ICU but continues across every setting that follows. Listen now on Apple or Spotify. With Gatlab ditching the show yet again—presumably to fight his high blood pressure, bees, or the surveillance state—the resident degenerates are joined by Whiskey Trail, a self-proclaimed centerfire slave who hasn't shot a .22 since the Eisenhower administration. The gang dives headfirst into the Rimfire Rundown, drooling over over-priced 10/22 builds, custom Taiwanese bullpups, and Dan's newest prized possession: a Henry survival rifle that looks like a plastic shotgun stock and functions like a glorified Skittles holder. AR Drew brags about his factory Tippmann FRT setup with an integrally suppressed upper, while Dusky recaps his mediocre steel match performance and details his borderline obsessive 17-round .22 LR chrono tests for "science." Over on the Centerfire Detour, Dan manages to turn his Beretta 92X into a single-shot paperweight thanks to a suppressor setup that refuses to cycle, Dusky somehow hits a steel target at 100 yards with a subcompact .380 before completely failing on camera, and Whiskey Trail prepares his body for a Texas hog hunt while defending appendix-carrying a full-sized 1911.
Stephen Grootes speaks to independent economist and fiscal policy specialist Thando Ngozo about whether Treasury's decision to withhold funding from 69 municipalities tackles the real problem in local government. In other interviews, Songezo Zibi, Parliament's standing committee on public accounts chair talks about the governance crisis at the Public Investment Corporation (PIC), where a wave of board resignations has left the institution without a quorum and raised questions about who Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana will appoint to restore stability. This week, Nish & Coco do a deep dive into the beginnings of Burnham's Britain. He's only been Prime Minister for a few days, but Andy has already pledged to end rough sleeping, cut electricity bills, and cap bus fares, as his new ‘cost of living government' takes shape. They're joined by Anoosh Chakelian, the New Statesman's Britain Editor, who has interviewed Burnham several times over the last decade. Is he the flip-flopping, people-pleasing Prime Minister his critics say he'll be, or do these early signals from No.10 suggest a clean break with the politics of the past? Anoosh, Coco & Nish talk through cabinet picks, what Trump might make of ‘Red Ed' as foreign sec, and how social care reform–if done right–could be good for us all. All eyes on the seventh Prime Minister in a decade…Plus: you listen to Nish & Coco every week, now we want to hear from you! The Bowhunter Chronicles Podcast - Episode 411: What Do Early Season Trail Camera Pictures Mean? In this episode, Adam and Nate dive into the value of the hunting community and why getting together with like-minded hunters matters just as much as time in the woods. From meetups and cookouts to conversations that build real friendships, they explore how shared experiences, support, and mentorship strengthen the culture of hunting and help hunters feel connected, motivated, and understood. The discussion also breaks down early season trail camera strategy, including how to interpret summer deer movement, identify bedding areas, recognize transition routes, and use mock scrapes and observation cameras to validate a spot. Adam explains how he approaches public land and lease ground differently, why early pictures are more about learning than claiming “your deer,” and how to use the next few months to prepare for a smarter, more effective hunt.Whether you're focused on public land deer hunting, early season trail camera scouting, or building stronger ties inside the hunting community, this episode offers practical insight and a grounded perspective on what it takes to improve as a hunter.Topics covered: The importance of the hunting community Why hunting meetups and events matter Early season trail camera placement and strategy Reading deer sign in July and August Bedding areas, scrapes, and transition routes Public land vs. private land scouting Preparing for the upcoming deer season https://www.latitudeoutdoors.com (https://www.latitudeoutdoors.com/) https://www.zingerfletches.com (https://www.zingerfletches.com/) https://www.lucky-buck.com (https://www.lucky-buck.com/) https://www.bigshottargets.com (https://www.bigshottargets.com/) https://genesis3dprinting.com (https://genesis3dprinting.com/) https://vitalizeseed.com (https://vitalizeseed.com/) http://bit.ly/BHCPatreon #hunting #deerhunting #trailcameras #publiclandhunting #bowhunting #whitetailhunting #earlyseasonscouting #huntingcommunityhttps://huntworthgear.com https://www.yellowstone.ai/ - CHRONICLES for 15% off https://www.paintedarrow.com - BHC15 for 15% offhttps://www.spartanforge.ai (https://www.spartanforge.ai/) - save 25% with code bowhunter Learn more about your ad choices.
