I am delighted to present some of the sketches from the book Mere Mohtaram, a compilation of three works-Roshandan, Langarkhana, and Ujale- written by the esteemed Javed Siddiqi. The narration is voiced by US based my dear friend, the passionate bibliophile, cinephile, and an art aficionado Sher Tookhi. I have curated this recording to make the book accessible to those too who are not well-versed in reading Urdu. No copyright infringement is intended. Lecture by Sheikh Dilwar Baba at the Musjidul Furqaan Islamia,Capetown by Radio Islam
“I used to believe that I needed to transcend being human to be enough, and now I see that being human is the sacred experience.” – Alyssia Sheikh Beloved Hoffman Process teacher and coach, Alyssia Sheikh, is our guest today. When she did the Process eight years ago, Alyssia’s sense of self, her sense of ‘me,’ changed dramatically from her time there. Out of this new sense of self, profound change and transformation came to both Alyssia and her post-Process life. Now, with a master's degree in Mindfulness Studies, she is also a certified life coach, speaker, and trauma-sensitive meditation teacher. As Alyssia states, “Who I am today is really thanks to my Process experience.” On the first day of her Process, Alyssia entered brand new territory when she was handed the ‘Hoffman feelings list.’ Feelings weren’t a part of her childhood. She’d been “living, waiting to feel, and not knowing how to do it.” But now, immersed in awareness of this deeper part of herself, Alyssia sensed a “rich intelligence” new to her. Before her eyes, life went from grayscale to full color. She was shocked, intrigued, and profoundly curious about these deeper capacities of being human. Alyssia awakened to what it means to be a human being rather than a human doing, now fully aware that being human is messy – and that isn’t a problem. Exploring shame in her Process was pivotal and held a profound lesson. Now, as a Hoffman teacher, shame is Alyssia’s favorite part of the Process to teach. Shame’s lessons have brought Alyssia liberation. In moving toward it, she realized that shame is not her and she is not shame. She would never have become a Hoffman Process teacher if she hadn’t learned shame’s lessons. We hope you enjoy this conversation with Alyssia and Sadie. More about Alyssia Sheikh: Alyssia Sheikh holds a master's degree in Mindfulness Studies and is a certified life coach, speaker, and trauma-sensitive meditation teacher. Her work centers on presence, emotional awareness, and helping people move out of autopilot and into a more connected, alive experience of being human. Drawing from mindfulness, neuroscience, and embodied practice, Alyssia supports individuals in relating to themselves with greater clarity, curiosity, and self-trust. Alyssia is also the host of the Relish podcast, where she explores joy, presence, and meaningful living beyond self-improvement and fixing. Through personal storytelling and practical insight, her work invites people to savor life as it is and reconnect with the inherent wholeness of being human. She is a Hoffman Process teacher and continues to be deeply shaped by the work—both personally and in how she guides others. Find out more about Alyssia and follow her on Instagram. When does sincere advice turn into public humiliation? The Prophet ﷺ called the religion Naseehah. Yet today, that same principle is being misused. Some tear into others under the banner of "advice," while others stay silent about mistakes, afraid to speak up. In this lecture, Sheikh Ahmad Yare explains Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali's treatise Al-Farq Bayna An-Naseehah wa At-Ta'yeer, a work that feels more relevant than ever. There is a line. A razor-thin line between sincere concern for the Deen and ego disguised as righteousness. Between protecting people from error and quietly feeding pride, resentment, or the desire to shame. Ibn Rajab identified the difference with striking clarity. He exposed not only the outward signs, but the hidden intentions beneath them. Some people truly believe they're defending Islam. They quote the right scholars, use the right language, and sound sincere. Yet without realising it, they may be serving Shaytan. The uncomfortable question is this: How do you know you're not one of them? Watch to uncover what Ibn Rajab understood, and what every Muslim needs to reflect on today. At the 2026 Tandem Meetings, CancerNetwork® spoke with a variety of experts who presented on key developments and advancements across hematologic oncology. As part of different oral presentations and poster sessions, researchers and clinicians shared updated findings that may influence the management of myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood cancer types.First, Fernando Duarte, head of the Bone Marrow Transplant Service at Walter Cantídio University Hospital (HUWC), hematologist and professor at the Federal University of Ceará, and president of the Brazilian Society of Cell Therapy and Bone Marrow Transplant, highlighted his presentation analyzing trends associated with allogenic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT) among patients with MDS or myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) and other types of MDS. Data from the Brazillian SBTMO and CIBMTR registry revealed that patients receiving allo-HCT for MDS/MPN were typically older with worse performance statuses. Additionally, MDS/MPN independently predicted worse overall survival (OS) and relapse-free survival outcomes.Next, Alfonso Molina, MD, MPH, a third-year Hematology and Medical Oncology fellow at Stanford University, detailed results from a phase 1 trial (NCT05507827) assessing Orca-T, an investigational allogeneic T-cell immunotherapy, among those with high-risk B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). Treatment with Orca-T yielded disease-free survival and OS in all (100%) 18 evaluable patients after a median follow-up of 14 months (range, 3-35), which occurred without graft failure, significant graft-versus-host-disease, or severe CAR-mediated toxicity. Finally, Irtiza N. Sheikh, DO, an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics - Patient Care, Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Section of the Division of Pediatrics at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, discussed his presentation exploring differences in outcomes with lisocabtagene maraleucel (Breyanzi; liso-cel) across various treatment settings and patient populations with large B-cell lymphoma. Data demonstrated that among patients younger than 50 years old, liso-cel produced enduring responses across real-world and clinical trial settings, which were comparable to outcomes in overall populations. Drawing on his experience from inside the Gulf region, Khalid describes what he calls an “Islamophobia industry”, how it operates across Western countries, and why questioning it often comes at a personal and professional cost. He also addresses the difference between Islam and Islamism, the role of activist organisations, and why Britain has become a particularly effective environment for this tactic. Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. US bureau chief Jacob Magid joins host Amanda Borschel-Dan for today's episode. Saudi Arabia’s former intelligence chief, Prince Turki bin Faisal, spoke with Magid on Sunday and said that Riyadh is currently not even entertaining the idea of normalizing relations with Israel and will only do so if Jerusalem begins acting like a “normal country.” We hear how Israel could behave more "normally" and what else the royal family member said. US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee held a rare meeting with Palestinian Authority Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh in Ramallah last Wednesday to discuss ongoing tensions in the West Bank. We speak about the fraught US-PA ties and how this meeting comes on the heels of increased cooperation surrounding ceasefire efforts in the Gaza Strip. And finally, US Vice President JD Vance claimed in an interview on Sunday that almost no Americans are antisemitic and that concerns about antisemitic voices are raised as a way to avoid discussing “a real backlash to a consensus view in American foreign policy” on Israel. Magid delves into this thorny issue, even as attacks against Jews in the US continue to be at a high since the Hamas attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023. The Dunya pushes you: "Earn more. Climb higher. Secure your future." Your heart quietly asks: "But when will you seek knowledge? What about the Akhirah?" If you've ever watched your commitment to seeking knowledge fade while life pulls you in every direction… if you've ever stared at your week and wondered when your Iman slipped through the cracks… this poem was written for you. Welcome to our new series on the Ta'iyyah of Abu Ishaq al-Ilbiri - a poem so striking that scholars across generations instructed their students to memorise it. Not because it's beautiful poetry, but because it slaps you awake. Taught by Ustadh Muhammad Tim Humble, this series takes you into a masterpiece that speaks to the modern Muslim student - the one juggling university, work, household, and trying to hold onto their Deen in a world that doesn't make it easy. This isn't just admonition. It's not a Sheikh telling you "you're doing it wrong." It's a father confessing to his son: "These are the mistakes I made. These are the attachments that cost me. Don't repeat them. Take the path I should have taken." The poem revolves around three unshakeable truths: Zuhd - turning away from a Dunya designed to capture you Seeking Knowledge - the treasure that fills the void when you stop chasing wealth and status Purifying the Soul - Tawbah, return, and filling your heart with what Allah loves In Episode 1, Ustadh Muhammad introduces the poem's background, its author's remarkable story, and begins unpacking the very first line: "The days shatter your heart, piece by piece..." Why does the poem begin with the heart, not the body, not time, but your heart? What happens when Iman wears out like old clothing? And what are the five actions that can renew a broken heart? This episode sets the stage for a journey that will challenge every student of knowledge, every person who's felt the weight of "I'm not doing enough," and every Muslim who knows deep down: the dunya is winning, and I need to fight back. The United States given President Trump's 20-point security plan for Gaza to the U.N. Security Council, and now wants it formally authorized. The key point is allowing a multi-year international force to govern the Gaza Strip through at least 2027. The plan presented to the U.N. was approved and supported by more than 20 countries, including with input from Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, at a summit in Sharm el-Sheikh on Oct.13th. FOX's Eben Brown speaks with Eylon Levy, Former Spokesman for the State of Israel, who says the key to long-lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians is for Hamas to cease to exist. PREVIEW. Naivety in Solving the Gaza Conflict. Husain Haqqani speaks with John Batchelor about the apparent assumption that Gaza is "solved" following a ceasefire signing in Sharm el-Sheikh. Haqqani observes naivety in American negotiators who believe they are fixing the world forever. Gaza's turmoil is noted to have persisted for at least 2,000 years, resisting efforts by historical powers like the Romans.
This week, Scott sat down with his Lawfare colleagues Benjamin Wittes, Kate Klonick, and newly-minted Senior Editor Molly Roberts to talk through the week's big national security news stories, including:“Peace by Piece.” The first phase of the Trump administration's peace plan for Gaza went into effect on Monday, resulting in the return of the last living hostages held by Hamas to Israel, among other exchanges. President Trump celebrated the moment with a triumphal speech in front of the Israeli Knesset, followed by a peace conference at Sharm el-Sheikh where the United States signed a joint statement with the heads of state of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. While much work remains to be done on implementing the deal, even Trump's Democratic political rivals have lauded the deal. How much credit does the Trump administration truly deserve? And where is the conflict likely to head from here?“Un-Civil Service.” Since the U.S. government shut down at the end of September, U.S. agency websites and emails have been plastered with messages unequivocally blaming congressional Democrats and the “radical Left.” It's an unprecedented use of government resources for a set of messages that looks quite political—exactly what the Hatch Act, among other laws, was intended to prevent. Are these messages consistent with the law? “Out of Our Element.” China kicked off a major new phase in its economic war with the United States last week, when it imposed major new export controls and rare earth metals and components derived from them—materials essential to various high-end technologies, including the semiconductors that power artificial intelligence. President Trump has since responded with a threat to impose 100% tariffs on Chinese imports—but what China may really want is a relaxation of export controls on AI-related semiconductors. How big a threat is China's weaponization of its rare earth exports? And how should the United States and its allies respond? In object lessons, Ben shares his new campaign to troll the Russian embassy—an offensive involving 100 dead sunflowers. Kate has an existential crisis over her (old? new? what is time?) college sweatshirt. Scott gets spicy with a plea to listeners about what to do with his abundance of Bhut Jolokia peppers. And Molly brings a bit of beauty to the party with a Prinsesstårta, no doubt something she'll be asked to make for the office. To receive ad-free podcasts, become a Lawfare Material Supporter at www.patreon.com/lawfare.
