What did you enjoy most about this episode? (https://weightlossmindset.co)Show Notes:Episode Summary:In this empowering episode of The Weight Loss Mindset, Rick Taylar dives into the surprising science behind why diets so often fail — and why it's not your fault. Through bold truths, engaging analogies, and eye-opening psychological insights, Rick explains how biology, not willpower, plays the starring role in your body's weight story. You'll learn why shame doesn't help, why evolution has stacked the deck, and what it really takes to build a healthier, more sustainable relationship with food — and yourself.Key Takeaways:You're already on a diet — it's your daily food habits, not a temporary plan.Biology hasn't caught up to modern food culture, making high-calorie cravings totally normal.Your body defends a ‘set point' weight, which resists rapid changes — even healthy ones.Shame and negative self-talk actually increase stress and make lasting change harder.True health is behavior-based, not appearance-based — joy and connection matter.Sustainable change comes from self-respect, gentle nutrition, and listening to your body.If you're tired of chasing the next quick-fix diet and ready to explore a deeper, more compassionate path to lasting health, make sure you're following The Weight Loss Mindset wherever you listen. And stay tuned for the next episode, where Rick breaks down the powerful approach of intuitive eating — a no-guilt, no-drama way to heal your relationship with food.

Since the 1940s and 50s, back at the origins of what we now think of as artificial intelligence, there have been lots of ways of conceiving what it is that brains do, or what the function of the brain is. One of those conceptions, going to back to cybernetics, is that the brain is a controller that operates under the principles of feedback control. This view has been carried down in various forms to us in present day. Also since that same time period, when McCulloch and Pitts suggested that single neurons are logical devices, there have been lots of ways of conceiving what it is that single neurons do. Are they logical operators, do they each represent something special, are they trying to maximize efficiency, for example? Dmitri Chklovskii, who goes by Mitya, runs the Neural Circuits and Algorithms lab at the Flatiron Institute. Mitya believes that single neurons themselves are each individual controllers. They're smart agents, each trying to predict their inputs, like in predictive processing, but also functioning as an optimal feedback controller. We talk about historical conceptions of the function of single neurons and how this differs, we talk about how to think of single neurons versus populations of neurons, some of the neuroscience findings that seem to support Mitya's account, the control algorithm that simplifies the neuron's otherwise impossible control task, and other various topics. We also discuss Mitya's early interests, coming from a physics and engineering background, in how to wire up our brains efficiently, given the limited amount of space in our craniums. Obviously evolution produced its own solutions for this problem. This pursuit led Mitya to study the C. elegans worm, because its connectome was nearly complete- actually, Mitya and his team helped complete the connectome so he'd have the whole wiring diagram to study it. So we talk about that work, and what knowing the whole connectome of C. elegans has and has not taught us about how brains work. Chklovskii Lab. Twitter: @chklovskii. Are you smart or average? How would you describe a genius? Einstein's grandnephew who knows the answer to every test question ever? Or maybe it is a smart person who can solve any problem? We have news for you: it is not just about your genes, grades, or life experience. Scientists have revealed ten signs of a wise person we bet you've ignored. TIMESTAMPS You don't smoke 0:36 You're not the loud type 1:32 You can find a connection between just about anything 2:34 You're a liberal 3:47 You often ask yourself the big questions 4:48 You're super loyal 5:54 You have surprising hobbies 6:45 You like to take risks 7:46 You bite your nails 8:54 SUMMARY Dr. Mark Weiser who works for Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer and his colleagues believe there is a link between smoking and intelligence. They found that the more you smoke, the lower your IQ is. Super smart people are mostly quiet. They don't babble, and they don't often initiate conversations. Why? They are too busy thinking. Creativity is about drawing lines between what seems to be disconnected from others. It is possible for those who have experienced more things and have analyzed that experience. Doesn't it sound like the definition of being wise? Those wise people normally come up with the most genius ideas. One of the signs of being super smart is to be bold enough to accept ideas that move our world forward. The more you think about the nature and future of everything around you, the more you realize different scenarios are possible. You know that at some point, it could all go wrong, and it's making you anxious. Being always alert and prepared for whatever may come your way is typical for smart people. Those who successfully beat the desire to do it and are loyal partners to just one special individual tend to be smarter than those who cheat and sleep around. It is also explained in that intelligent liberals study by evolutionary psychologist Satoshi Kanazawa. . If you are a computer systems analyst who gets new ideas from origami or a chef who is inspired by furniture design, you are pretty much a creative genius. It has to do with the ability to relate the totally unrelated and being bold enough to try new things and design new concepts. When we speak of risks, we don't mean life-threatening stuff like jumping off the roofs and train surfing. Risks are the new challenges and ideas that you gladly try out of curiosity. And, quite a bit of adrenalin, as well. Nail biting has been largely considered just a nervous habit, yet recent studies show it may be a demonstration of perfectionism. According to psychologists, such body-focused habits as skin picking, pulling your hair or biting your nails help fight boredom and soothe dissatisfaction. Have you found any of these signs in yourself? Or maybe you just realized your friend is much wiser than you thought? Feel free to share in the comments. There are lots of common beliefs about intelligent people: they don't give in to laziness, have a perfect memory, and don't use obscenities. However, research shows that a high IQ is often associated with quite unexpected habits and peculiarities. Did you know that laziness is actually a sign of high intelligence? Other videos you might like: Are You Smart Enough For Your Age?    • Are You Smart Enough For Your Age?   10 Exercises That'll Make You Smarter In a Week    • 10 Exercises That'll Make You Smarter...   9 Riddles Only People with High IQ Can Solve    • 9 Riddles Only People with High IQ Ca...   TIMESTAMPS: You forget about trifles 0:55 You occasionally swear 1:40 You trust people 2:10 You don't like red meat 2:43 You're good at giving ideas 3:13 You're prone to be lazy 3:49 You have a cat 4:18 You sleep little 4:58 Bonus that might help you feel much better about yourself 5:30 SUMMARY: A perfect memory has always been a sign of cleverness, but the latest research shows it's forgetfulness that actually points at a high level of intellect. More and more studies prove that people who swear often have a much wider vocabulary, which is a sign of a high IQ. Talented people are believed not to trust anyone. However, scientists proved that intelligent individuals are more trusting. Recent polls at Southampton University have shown a curious fact: people with a high IQ prefer poultry meat, fish, and vegetables over red meat. More often than not, people with a high IQ are capable of thinking up alternative solutions but not using them in life. One experiment showed that people with a high IQ are likely to get buried in thought and be less active, while ordinary individuals are bored more often and try to fill up their schedule. Some studies at Carroll University in Waukesha show that people who prefer cats are calmer, more sensitive, and have a higher IQ, while dog lovers are more active, open to others, and are used to obeying the rules. Intelligent people tend to stay up late, which results, more often than not, in them sleeping little. They have to wake up early in the morning to go to work or school. As most of you know, a key tenet of the Outside Insights way is breaking away from the grind to take care of one's physical and mental wellbeing. I was very honored to have the opportunity to talk with Dr. Tricia Thompson for the latest episode of Outside Insights learn about her journey in the medical field and some critical wakeup calls everyone can learn from.Dr. Thompson swapped the ER for functional medicine, after 20 years of feeling stuck just treating symptoms and not the real causes of why more and more people were feeling sick.Tired of the band-aid solutions in emergency care, Dr. Thompson now focuses on getting to know the full story of her patients' health. Functional medicine is her tool for doing just that—it's all about understanding the whole picture, from lifestyle to body systems, and fixing what's actually wrong.Dr. Thompson made a real difference in my health.  Chronic health conditions and RA had worn me down and I felt like I had no options.  Dr. Thompson helps me do the right things today looking at health from a total point of view: food, supplements, hydration, mindfulness, exercise and our environment and our past exposures (smokers, mold, workplace).  This is no magic pill cure, it's knowing what to do so I can live my best life today - and that is priceless.Consider some health challenges that you're currently dealing with. Have you worked to understand the root causes of them? For many people, “stress” is the glaring culprit behind their symptoms.Because of this, Dr. Thompson is big on tackling stress. To mitigate stress in the moment and avoid long term impacts, simple practices like breathwork can be a game changer, helping calm down our overworked nervous systems. Of course, that's only the tip of the iceberg. Dr. Thompson believes our bodies know how to heal themselves—we just need to give them what they need. Think good food, enough sleep, and less junk, both in our diets and environments. Today, Dr. Thompson is on a mission to make functional medicine mainstream and affordable and believes everyone should have the chance to get at the root of their health issues, without insurance headaches getting in the way.I know I preach the importance of wellness to achieve success and happiness in all aspects of your life. If you take one thing from this episode, I hope it's this - listen to your body, it's smarter than you might think. If something feels off, dig deeper - it's probably trying to tell you something important. Here's to prioritizing our health in 2024 and breaking away from old patterns that no longer serve us. I hope this episode inspires you to make the changes you've been waiting to make.Until next time friends, Chris

We're adding "animal intelligence" to rsr.org/squeeze. The claim that apes should have the highest intelligence in the animal kingdom because we humans supposedly evolved from them turns out to be yet another fail. Did you know, for example, that certains species of birds demonstrate that they know what other birds are thinking? On today's Real Science Radio program Bob Enyart and Fred Williams discuss really fun and hugely significant examples of animal intelligence! Wait till you can hear what the lowly ant does! RSR thanks Answers in Genesis for publishing Dr. Joe Francis' article Smarter Than You Think which we've used as a framework for today's broadcast.  From kgov.com/definitions: These are RSR-styled... - Animal: Excepting humans, a multicellular biological organism with specialized sense organs and voluntary movement. - Mammal: A warm-blooded vertebrate animal with hair or fur, females that secrete milk, and, except for the platypus and spiny anteater, the birth of live young. - Animal Kingdom: The animals of the world collectively, excluding insects and fish (which are more likened to biological robots than to volitional organisms) - Human being: A person, made in God's likeness, with body, soul and spirit (whereas animals have body and soul) - Plant: A biological organism that synthesizes nutrients in its leaves by photosynthesis (possessing a body but neither a soul or spirit). * One minute video of a magpie perceiving what many apes don't:  * Otherwise, this is a great video on mole rats vocalizing: If you ignore the absurd claim made by Dr. Gary Lewin of Berlin's Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine about mole rats and human social behavior, this video announces extraordinary research and an exciting discovery! (If you have a choice, you might want to avoid the Max Delbrück Center for your own medical treatment. Researchers who remain so oblivious to the ubiquitous evidence against Darwinian rsr.org/evolution may also miss the insights needed to save your life.)

This episode of Cycling in Alignment is another solo pod. I promise I have many guests coming on the show soon but for now you get me. As always I am grateful for your presence.  In this discussion, I outline the idea that many people look for validation outside of themselves, rather than inside. That is; people seek knowledge from experts in various fields and become attached or invested in these expert's opinions. I argue that when people do this, they place power outside of themselves. Culturally we are looking for exogenous forms of expertise. This can be for two primary reasons: - Overwhelm from sheer volume of information available on the internet - A refusal to or bypass of taking accountability for the decision. When an expert told you to do it, you don't have to worry about it As humans we have an invaluable source of information and understanding in ourselves. This might be commonly referred to as intuition, a priori knowledge, or a gut feeling. We have to have some basic knowledge of a topic in order to develop understanding, without a doubt. However, the only way to have a full understanding of a topic or field of study with depth is through experience. This is the key. Knowledge + experience = understanding.

In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger ND (retired*) , talks with Anissa Young who is a Bowen therapist, hypnotherapist, mind and soul coach. For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/anissa-young     Highlights from today's episode include: Anissa Young  So, the hypnotherapy and the Bowen therapy works so beautifully together. Because I mean, I know Bowen therapies designed to get you out of your fight and flight and back to your resting, relax, and repair. But hypnotherapy on top of that, like amplifies it, because they're already resting their mind, they're already in relaxation mode, mind and body before I even get them on the table. So even if I do a short, super short relaxation hypnotherapy session, I find that once they're on the table, they're already super relaxed   Anissa Young  08:49 I think because my hypnotherapist teacher said you know, once you find your therapy that works for you, you don't need anything else. You know, you don't need to look for...if hypnotherapy works for you, you do hypnotherapy. If Bowen therapy works for you do Bowen therapy. If you know chiropractic works for you, you do you go and take chiropractor. And I sort of thought well, but why aren't we mixing things? Like yeah, one thing can work for you 100% one thing can work for you. But what about if we if we did multiple things and we and we integrated them? You know how amazing would that be?   Anissa Young  13:58 I'm working even more on tapping into and helping the client to understand because half the time they don't understand that that's happening. And that could be what's happening. And that could be where, you know, it could be grief, it could be trauma, it could be physical trauma, it could be emotional trauma, and, and it's trapped in the body. It's been there for a long time, they've had this ongoing injury.   BIO: Anissa Young I have always wanted to help others. I was a teacher for 20 years. I ended up hating my life, hating my job. Anxious to go to work, stressed about stressing. I went to my Bowen therapist for migraines and stress and gallstones; my gallbladder would later come out and she said, “you could do this” and that was the beginning for me. As soon as I had my first practical module, I knew that this is what I wanted to do. I then wanted more….. hypnotherapy came next. And this feels really natural to me. I love calming people down, relaxing them and “fixing” them. I facilitate a women's once a month and I get so much from these. Core purpose/passion: Happiness! In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger ND, talks with Nawale Ayar, a Cranio-Sacral Therapist & Vagus Nerve Certified and was uniquely trained in Biodynamic CST and Fascial unwinding, a Biomechanical form of CST. For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/nawale-ayar   Highlights from today's episode include: Nawale Ayar  05:11 I love that you asked about this, because it's not a condition that a lot of people talk about, and or are aware of, and you know, you can just faint in the morning or once in your life, and you get on with your life without even paying attention to it. But to some people, it can happen too many times in their lifetime, the reasons aren't really perfectly documented. In my case, because I had to become the investigator of my own crime scene. So, I discovered that things like gluten and dairy would precipitate an episode. And so, since I quit, that, it became a little less frequent. And then cranial sacral therapy with the vagus nerve work, sort of put a stop to that. Nawale Ayar  09:08 What happened is sort of a little bit of a complex in between the sympathetic, the fight or flight system that usually people know it this way, and the parasympathetic, the rest and digest, and it feels like an alarm is set on inside the body. And then to respond to that the parasympathetic wants to calm down things really, really quickly. But both of them they clash, because it's like, trying to go really fast with your car and pressing the brakes at the same time. So, the only solution for the body is, you know, to collapse and to lay down on the floor. It's too extreme. It's too much and it happens in the blink of an eye. Nawale Ayar  10:18 I'm really surprised that not everybody is somehow certified, you know, in the health field, in this nerve, because it's so important. What fascinates me is the mood change how somebody could think that they are depressed for the rest of their life and some vagus nerve manipulation, could change their mood to happiness, and everything would be lifted off, lifted off really quickly. This is shockingly impressive to me. These are the things that the vagus nerve can do. And on a physical, more physical and psychological level, I've experienced it myself from feeling sluggish, and you know, lacking energy to feeling like you can conquer the world then want to run a marathon the next day. It is this powerful.   BIO: Nawale Ayar Nawale is a Cranio-Sacral Therapist & Vagus Nerve Certified. She received a 1 year comprehensive, extensive training at the first, largest & most established College of Cranio-Sacral Therapy in London, UK while completing her Anatomy-Physiology-Pathology Certification at Minerve in France. Nawale was uniquely trained in Biodynamic CST and Fascial unwinding, a Biomechanical form of CST. Nawale is also one of the rare Certified Osteodouce Practitioners in North America; Osteodouce is an energetic osteopathy modality. After a deeply transformative CST treatment Nawale registered to become a CST practitioner. And so, you can be assured that the therapy approach that she offers, she has received and benefited from herself. Nawale is French bilingual and can treat from simple to severe aches & pains, complex and persistent health issues like: headache, back pain, brain fog, sciatica, endometriosis, physical & emotional blocks, shock & trauma, injuries, depression, anxiety, concussion, fibromyalgia, post-Covid symptoms, TMJ, fatigue, allergies, skin diseases, PMS, stress, IBS, birth trauma & more. CST is safe for newborns, pregnant & laboring women. Core purpose/passion: When I graduated in London, UK my teacher told us “Go heal the world” that deeply resonated with me. What is more satisfying that hearing someone who wasn't well got better?? or is completely cured! Things like that bring tears to your eyes! What else is this life about? If you don't have your health you have nothing. In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger ND, talks with Helen Dunne, Bowen Therapist.  Healing has to be holistic.  Treating one area makes no sense to me.  It would be like treating one area of water in a pool.  For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/helen-dunne   Highlights from today's episode include: Helen Dunne I always feel confident in my ability to deliver Bowen moves. And why I worded that way is that there's more, so I deliver the moves. But what goes on doesn't come from me, it's very much about the client, and at their level, so we were talking about personalities before and, you know, context and information and people. One thing I keenly observe is the personality of that person, whether I've met them before or not. And you know whether it's someone I know that I do a treatment on, I believe that their personality will determine their rate of receiving the moves, and how quickly or slowly their condition or ailment is resolved Helen Dunne But children are great to work on because my favorite answer from one of the children that I used to treat in Sydney was I feel different. And I thought what a perfect way to sum it up. You know, it is you do feel different. And I think why I like that. expected results, you know, if we take a Panadol, we supposedly have an operation to remove something that causes us a lot of pain, we tend to go through or use words that describe you know, how wonderful we feel. But I think feeling different also describes a fresh way of looking at our body. Helen Dunne  Like there's, it's either doesn't take too much to make us uncomfortable or to feel pain. So, when Bowen eases that, or removes it. People don't necessarily, especially if it's a few days after they've sort of eased and they just think, oh, I feel good today. And they may not make the connection, especially if they're new to Bowen, to Bowen treatment. And I've had other Bowen practitioners talk about this, like one woman who was working on her daughter's feet. And her daughter had her graduation, and she wanted to wear high heels. And she said, Mom, these shoes are so comfortable. In the mother saying no, it's the Bowen therapy I did on your feet that allowed you to wear those shoes. And I thought that's a really good idea that stayed with me, because I think people are so keen to go I'm fine now and off, they go back into their lifestyles. And they may not be aware or attribute, perhaps to Bowen.     BIO: Helen Dunne The first Bowen treatment I had didn't make sense to me as I had not experienced such a modality before and didn't understand how I was to relate to the treatment within my mind and body.  After 10 years of loving Bowen Therapy treatments  I asked the practitioner I went to about how it works to find out more.  That lead to doing the course with Margaret Spicer and becoming a practitioner myself. Core purpose/passion: I'm passionate about all living things: people, flora and fauna, and the creative environment that living things can create to inspire and stimulate.  I enjoy growing some of my food, gardening, watching things grow, the art in nature - colour, texture, movement, form.  I love music that resonates with the heart and mind. – Facebook |    About Dr. M (Manon Bolliger), ND: Dr. Manon is a Naturopathic Doctor, the Founder of Bowen College, an International Speaker, she did a TEDx talk "Your Body is Smarter Than You Think. In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger ND, talks with Annette Presley, Registered and Licensed Dietitian, Certified Functional Nutritionist Fertility Nutrition   For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/annette-presley   Highlights from today's episode include: Annette Presley  06:18 So, trans fats actually can cause diabetes, and heart disease, and pretty much anything else, they also can, they cause a lot of inflammation in the body, and they and the type of fat it is, our bodies just aren't used to that we don't really have a way to process it. But it does get incorporated into our cells, like saturated fat, but it doesn't act biologically like saturated fat. And, so if you look at some of the interesting industries that have boomed like anti-aging, so trans fats actually age you a lot faster. Because they don't hold their shape, like the trans, like the saturated fats do. So, you're gonna get wrinkly, you're going to have issues with, you know, you're gonna have inflammation in your heart, all the other organs, blood sugar spikes, all kinds of problems with these trans fats. Annette Presley  07:53 So, they're in mostly processed food. So, all your snack foods used to have them potato chips, all of those kinds of things. There actually is trans fats in dairy, but it's the different kind. And so those trans fats are actually very healthy for you. But it's the man made fats. Man just doesn't do it right. You know, they're in, but mostly they, like, margarines, of course, shortening. Crisco used to be hydrogenated cottonseed oil. And so that's kind of how that got started Annette Presley  Because I had been taught, of course, that cholesterol in your body causes heart disease. And what I noticed is that the patients I had, who had higher cholesterol levels, they lived longer, they did better in the hospital, and they usually got out of the hospital, whereas the ones that had very low cholesterol often died, you know, or they just didn't do well, or they had to go to more long term care. You know, and so I was kind of noticing this in the hospital, thinking, I don't know, you know, what I'm being told isn't quite matching, what I'm seeing in my patients. And so, I think probably the biggest thing really is our view of heart disease. I think we're way off base on that, because cholesterol really doesn't have a whole lot to do with it.   BIO: Annette Presley Annette Presley is a registered dietitian of over 28 years, certified functional nutritionist, author, and creator of the Mommy Maker Method. After discovering that the diet advice she'd learned as a dietitian was actually contributing to chronic diseases, Annette changed course to learn about functional nutrition and nutrigenomics, how nutrition impacts genetic expression.  Now Annette helps women literally manipulate their genes, so they can say goodbye to infertility struggles and hello to being a mom! Core purpose/passion: My core mission is to make this world a better place for children and I do this by helping women get healthy before they get pregnant. For example, when women have adequate iodine stores before they get pregnant they are less likely to have a miscarriage for one thing but also less likely to have a child with allergies, asthma, autism, ADHD. We could totally reverse the trend of these childhood afflictions within 3 generations. For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/lola-pickett     Highlights from today's episode include: I've already tried changing my job, I've already moved somewhere new, I've already gotten in shape. So, none of those things, did it? What is it that's going to help me even figure it out? And so it was that clue, like that clue that really just hit me in the gut. And that's the thing I want to encourage everybody to listen to. And for many of us, it whispers for a long time before we can really even recognize that it's going on. It's it looks like that low level of malaise. It looks like a low sex drive with your partner. It looks like dreading Monday's, it looks like redecorating your room for the fourth time instead of having that hard conversation with your partner, that those are kind of the signs that you're trying to make little tweaks at the surface. But there's something deeper that needs to be looked at and addressed. Lola Pickett 10:41 Because if people do what I did, after I had this realization, and try to follow kind of more mainstream self-help device, or the most popular personal growth books, things like that, it can be a very confusing and frustrating experience. And this is what I ran into, because I realized, of course, okay, something big has to change. Let me just go like to Barnes and Noble at the time and go look at their personal growth aisle and see what titles stand out. And I don't remember exactly the first books that I started with, but I gained a large collection of self-help over the years. And what I was finding, though, was that many of the books had the same message, first and foremost. And if they were truly like New York Times bestseller selling millions of copies, then why weren't millions of people having truly improved lives? We have to get underneath that at first to even make it possible to start to have some of that body work, somatic practices, be able to land and to create that sense of safety that it is actually okay, to turn your focus back toward yourself. It's not going to put you into a place of threat. And you can get that intellectually. But getting that at a at a very deep core level so that you can do that subconscious and unconscious rewiring work is critical. And that's where I always begin. And then we start to develop awareness. Once you have that safety, the awareness can come on and things can start to change. And you can train yourself to watch for Oh, this is what fight looks like for me.   BIO Lola Pickett:  Lola Pickett is a bridge between realities: neurobiology & behavioral sleuth meets soulful ceremonialist. For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.comdr-mark-mincolla-phd   Highlights from today's episode include: Superconscious is when we take our pure consciousness, blended in the sea of universal consciousness. So the collective divine consciousness that that is the universe, that is the universe, that's the identification point of the universe, when we connect with that, when our awareness merges with that, that universal consciousness, that's when we become super conscious that we have no limitations, at all my opinion, there are no limits whatsoever. So I think that's how we make that work. That's what makes that happen   Dr Mark Mincola  06:05 Where is the universe, what is the universe number one, it's not a place, the universe is not a galaxy, it's not a planet, it's not a specific environment that we can actually take a rocket ship to, or anything like that. The universe is pure consciousness. We are the universe, we are we don't have consciousness, we are consciousness. So I think those standards are really important to ground ourselves for starters, and to and to be aware of the fact that we are pure awareness. And to be aware of our pure awareness is to activate our universal connection, our super consciousness And I think the message is pretty simple. If you take that with the beautiful awareness that you are the beautiful consciousness that you are, and merge it with the Divine Consciousness, that is God consciousness, that is the highest elevation of universal presence. Universal is this universal essence. You can heal anything you can, you can do anything. And that's the message. For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/judith-joy   Highlights from today's episode include: Judith Joy 06:18 Okay, so here's the thing before you make choices. Yeah, you have to raise your vibration. David Hawkins talks about a consciousness scale, right? Zero to 1000. And these over here are what I'm looking at as low vibe. This is where you have depression, anxiety, shame, blame, frustration, you know, all of that is down here. Then you move up a little bit, and you've got anger. Anger is actually a higher vibration, right? Then apathy, or depression, because if you think when you are depressed or apathetic, you're laying on the couch, and you don't have any energy to move. You get up to anger, you got some energy to move, you can do something a little bit higher for pride, and that's where the Marines are. And that's where it's like, yeah, I can do it. But you go up just a little bit more, where you take responsibility for everything in your life, right? And then you tip over into the high vibe. And then Whoa, watch out. Because once you take responsibility for everything, you're not blaming anybody else. Judith Joy 11:08 So even if you're over here, and you're in shame and blame, and you just move a little bit, and then you move a little bit, and then you move a little bit, and then you move a little bit, and then you move a little bit, eventually, you're going to make it up here. And then I basically clear their energy. I stage them and then I start my Reiki practice. So, when I'm giving Reiki, my hands, turn like a ball of fire, because the energy I'm allowing myself to become a vessel for the energy to flow through my hands for healing for my, my client. So, when that happens, it's pretty, it's powerful. Like it's overwhelming Lori Garrity So, I balance the chakras, and then do any kind of healing, you know, though, they touch me, so I can feel in a certain area where they need to have healing so in their knee, or, or low back, or, you know, in their abdomen area. I clear their ears, so they can hear the intuitive guidance. I opened the crown chakra so they can receive the divine guidance. The third eye, so that's the same thing so that you have the extra eyes to actually see beyond the veil. So, it's, it's quite amazing. Like, it's a very, it's very relaxing, and I know with my sessions, because the energy that comes in through me is pretty intense. So, most people will I knock them out. Lori Garrity 08:40 Well, the best way, I would say the best way to regaining your composure of your power of yourself within your chakras is being aligned in alignment with, you know, being grounded. So, the best way to do that, I would say is through your breath. So, when you focus on your breath, and you do like a deep breath into the count of five, and then you blow it out to a count of 10. So, when you do that, at least three times, it brings your energy level from like here, back-to-back to center.   BIO:  Lori Garrity CEO, Angel Fire Reiki Practitioner   About Dr. M (Manon Bolliger), ND: Dr. Manon is a Naturopathic Doctor, the Founder of Bowen College, an International Speaker, she did a TEDx talk "Your Body is Smarter Than You Think. And in my third year of naturopathic college, I had a patient with rheumatoid arthritis. And I found myself going through this book looking for how do you cure or treat rheumatoid arthritis. And I went, people been having rheumatoid arthritis for as long as there have been human beings. And I'm still doing we haven't found a way right to heal rheumatoid arthritis. And I said Bosh, I know. I know beyond a doubt what will improve this. Through eating and through this person's power to bring healing to themselves by improving their behaviors.   Node Smith  You know, many people many, and you know, everyone, every doctor knows that patients have tried numerous diets and have not been successful, they've tried numerous exercise programs and not been successful. And it is not because diet and exercise don't work. That is not what's happening. It's a level of skillfulness. It might be the type of diet, it might be how they're eating, it might be emotional elements surrounding eating, and the same thing with exercise or movement. Charlie Cropley  The foundation that we work from is that of relationship. And we begin and end during the intensive with a teaching on the patient's relationship to their illness and introduce the naturopathic perspective of illness as a message to us, right. And so, we begin to transform their relationship to their illness, and then the physical exam, we then look at their relationship to their body. And then we look at their relationship to each of the four behaviors to their eating, to their movement, to their thinking, and to their relationships with other people. And we're, teaching them that how to...that their body, their mind, they are the only ones who know, and receive the messages from their body in their minds.   Bio: Dr Charley Cropley, ND Charley Cropley, ND helps people heal. I met her when I was a child of seven years old. I didn't know it at the time and but your angels, I get the question a lot. Well, how do your angels appear to you and your angels appear to you in accordance of where you're at, mentally, and emotionally at the time.   Joseph Holmes So, I lied on the floor with my head by Mary in by Mother Mary's lap, and Mary Magdalene is hovering above me as she enters my body. And that's when she healed me of my childhood molestation. Before that time, I never spoke. I never told anyone about my molestation. And after that, and your listeners can appreciate this. After that. I started talking about them, telling people about them, writing about them, giving interviews about them about my molestations. And that's a significant part of your healing is to be start talking about it.   Joseph Holmes 29:44 And if you stay in your head where ego wants to keep you it's just endless chatter. Endless mindless chatter all day long. 24 seven. So how do you deal with that? Very important. So, your listeners know how do you deal with that? Because that chatter is going on all the time, I used to fight it. And you know, when you fight ego, you're always lose. So, I just, it just got to the point where said, you know, I'm just because I make friends with my ego. So now when the chatter starts taking over, I just stop, and I say, thank you, ego, for reminding me to drop back into my heart, so now ego's my friend.   About Joseph Holmes Joseph Holmes aka jmmlove; the “mm” for Mary Magdalene, and “love” for Mary Magdalene's message of unconditional love; was born on December 13, the feast day of Santa Lucia.  He is a survivor of childhood sexual, physical, and emotional abuse as well as a ptsd-disabled combat veteran.  He is an Amazon best-selling author with over 45 titles published to date, all helping people discover their Purpose and create lives full of meaning, significance, joy, love, and success via the spiritual poetry of guardian angel Mary Magdalene.   As a 7 year old child jmmlove was first graced by the love of guardian angel Mary Magdalene & he affectionately calls, “Maggie”; while visiting the border town of Nogales, Arizona with his family.   Fast forward to the year 1988 when j was encapsulated within a bubble of White Light for one week during which time he was unable to eat any solid food.  This began his angel experiences in earnest.   In December of 1990 Joseph experienced a ptsd-induced nervous breakdown where he walked away from his career and livelihood as a doctor of chiropractic while having a wife and two small children to support.  He spent the next entire year secluded on his 5-acre estate simply working the land as a form of therapy.  People who hear j's story in detail are often moved to tears and encouraged to never give up as they face their own personal challenges.    In 1993 jmmlove experienced a vision of Mother Mary who blessed him with streams of gold and white light.  This was in preparation for a state of rapture he began experiencing shortly afterward and which lasted for a solid 5-month period.   In 2005 joseph experienced a visitation from Mother Mary along with Mary Magdalene during which time they partially healed him of his childhood molestations.  This began a relationship with Mary Magdalene that culminated in December of 2012 with her awakening him in the early morning hours to act as a conduit for her spiritual poetry, free of the dogma and doctrine of organized religion, that touches on a variety of life issues, helping readers create lives full of meaning, significance, joy, love, and success.   From that December morning in 2012 to the present day Maggie has awakened Joseph virtually every morning with her poetry, now published in the form of Love Notes For Your Soul.   Listeners and readers often feel Maggie's poetry is speaking directly to them on their life's journey, helping them listen to their hearts and not get caught up in the ways of the world and what others think or say.  In fact, Maggie affirms that whoever is drawn to her poetry can consider her to be one of their guardian angels.   Joseph believes there are millions, if not billions, of people who have their own angel stories to tell, but are in the closet with them for fear of being ridiculed or shamed.  He hopes that by hearing his story people will be encouraged to come out of their closets, as he firmly believes that sharing one's angel stories lays the foundation for healing from past traumas and discovering one's Gift, or Purpose.    Sharing your Gift, or as joseph likes to refer to it as, walking your Road to Rome, by taking baby steps doing what you can from where you are with what you have, and acting fearlessly while listening to your angels, you can overcome all your doubts and fears along the way and create a life full of meaning, significance, joy, love, and success.   Joseph welcomes your comments & and angel stories.  He can be reached at joseph@jmmlove.com   His website is https://www.jmmlove.com Core purpose/passion: My Gift.  It is to share the spiritual poetry of guardian angel Mary Magdalene and her message that Love is real. For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/toby-pasman   Highlights from today's episode include: Toby Pasman 10:27 One being that long term meditators produce a lot more gamma waves than the average person. And gamma waves are kind of a lesser talked about brainwave, they're actually the fastest of all the brainwaves. And basically, neuroscientists have kind of discovered that they play a big role in our awareness, our ability to be intently focused and actively go about sort of solving different problems, along with sort of integrating information coming from different areas of our awareness Toby Pasman 13:40 Thinking about things cognitively processing, we're producing mostly beta waves. Now, when someone meditates and kind of turning their awareness inward, you start producing more, you drop down into producing more of these alpha waves. And alpha brainwaves are really important for kind of relaxation, also increasing people's ability to learn, process, and recall a lot of information really quickly. Toby Pasman  And basically, with neuro technologies, were able to, short circuit, the process in the sense that it might take a meditator a long time to be able to eventually sink into producing beta waves through their meditation. But I could put a couple of electrodes on someone's brain and specifically stimulate a beta frequency. So, then their brain is going to just directly entrain to that frequency that's being stimulated. So, it's, it's a similar sort of mechanism in terms of altering brainwaves and the electrical activity, both with meditation along with kind of these newer neuro technologies, but these different technologies can really accelerate the process quite dramatically.   About Toby Pasman Toby Pasman is a neurophysiology researcher who graduated from the University of Oregon in 2018 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and completed his Master's of Psychology through Lynn University in 2021. He worked on the Emotions and Neuroplasticity Project at the Brain Development Lab at the UO while in undergrad, learning EEG acquisition and artifacting. Toby began working at a peak performance facility outside of Seattle, Washington, training high profile CEOs, professional athletes, and Hollywood actors, who were looking to maximize their brain performance, recording QEEG brain maps and utilizing neurofeedback and neurostimulation technology. Toby has since worked in the substance abuse and mental health fields, utilizing QEEG brain mapping, neurofeedback, neurostimulation, and PEMF therapy to treat patients clinically. For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/anne-laure-peaucelle   Highlights from today's episode include: Anne-Laure Peaucelle  05:20 I think that…so, the way I look at it is that emotions are experienced in our body, and our body keeps that memory of previous experiences. And often when we have important events or like big experiences in our life, it will have an emotion...we will have an emotional response to it. And depending on how we process that event, at that time in our lives, I think those emotions can kind of get trapped or stuck in our bodies Anne-Laure Peaucelle  07:38 I think where yoga can be helpful with that is that it helps us cultivate that self-awareness. And I think, when we make that intention to start to cultivate self-awareness, I believe that things start to make themselves more obvious to us. And we start maybe to see things differently, or to make connections that we may not have made in the past. Anne-Laure Peaucelle  18:47 Like the way that I see emotions is that some of them that are easy to feel some of them are challenging for us to feel. And as we increase our ability to sit with the ones that are difficult to feel, is really how we can move them out and release them. And so, movement can be a good way to create awareness as well.   About Anne-Laure Peaucelle  Anne-Laure is a Yoga Therapist with a passion for emotional and mental wellness. She first came to yoga in 2012 while working as an engineer, and it quickly became an integrated part of her life. Her natural curiosity and love of learning led her to train as a yoga teacher, and then as a yoga therapist. Yoga therapy has added a new dimension to her teaching and she has brought yoga to hospitals and rehabilitation centers, as well as veterans and women's shelters. Always incorporating therapeutic yoga and encouraging her students to become curious about what is happening in their bodies and minds, her intention is to empower her students to build self-awareness and resilience using the simple yet powerful tools of yoga. Core purpose / passion: | My purpose and vision is to change the way we (as a society and as individuals) look at emotional and mental health. I'm passionate about bringing the body back into the healing process through yoga. It's all connected and we're all connected. It's been so fascinating to me to see how different modalities, different cultures approach emotions. I'm passionate about people, learning how we operate and why we do the things we do. Yoga gives us a way to better understand ourselves and each other. For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/hilary-crowley   Highlights from today's episode include: Hilary Crowley 10:56 To be honest, and to show honesty, and honesty beyond the point where you're trying to make yourself sound smarter than you are or more knowledgeable or you want to hold the authority in the room. Well, when you're on is sometimes you have to say beautiful things like "I don't know". Groundbreaking words, like" let's look into it."  Hilary Crowley 15:29 As I'm listening to clarity, boundaries, balance, it certainly keeps all of the noise of what is my relationship to you. Are you approving of me? Are you all the ego stuff? It's like, well, it doesn't really matter, if you approve of me, or I know where I stand with you unconditionally. It also carries forth with integrity. Afterwards, that integrity would be another word because I'm an energy worker. Hilary Crowley But intuition for me is the body is always healing itself. And sometimes it needs help because sometimes we don't have to do it alone. So, intuition is in me listening inward to the inner intelligence of the person who's decided to share this in the room with me   About Hilary Crowley Hilary Crowley is the author of The Power of Energy Medicine: Your Natural Prescription for Resilient Health; Skyhorse/Simon & Schuster 2021. She discovered her interest in the healing arts as the grandchild of three doctors. In her early career, she worked at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, and Exeter Hospital. Since 1995, she has studied with leaders in energy medicine and medical intuition. In 2008, Hilary opened her office as a Natural Health Intuitive at the integrative & general family medical center, Whole Life Health Care in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. With clients referred by surgeons, nurses, physicians, psychotherapists, acupuncturists, physical therapists, nutritionists, and other holistic medical practitioners, Hilary uses energy medicine techniques to identify root issues of disease and stress. Hilary's hands-on work involves balancing and interpreting the subtle energy field of the human body to bring wellness and authentic health to her clients. She teaches on topics of energy medicine and health throughout the United States. Hilary is a graduate of Syracuse University and lives with her husband and two sons in New Hampshire. Core purpose/passion : To continue doing what I'm doing. To get the message to the healthcare world, that if we can take back the instinctive connection between patient and health provider, that energy of care, sharing, and the love of the healing arts, this would revolutionize the conversation around how we heal and how the healthcare system can restore the heart and soul of itself.  Website | Facebook | Instagram | Twitter  | LinkedIn  |   About Dr. M (Manon Bolliger), ND: Dr. Manon is a Naturopathic Doctor, the Founder of Bowen College, an International Speaker, she did a TEDx talk "Your Body is Smarter Than You Think. In this episode of The Healers Café, Dr. Manon Bolliger ND, talks to Tom Paladino who is a scalar energy researcher who wants to heal the world for the benefit of people. For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/tom-paladino   Highlights from today's episode include: Tom Paladino 05:43 I believe that scalar energy actually potentiates any type of homeopathic reagent if you will. Yeah. So, this now will, if you will lift the veil of and will no longer have this mystery that surrounds homeopathy. It really is scalar energy and action. And this, to me, this is so exciting, that we finally can explain the universe. And we finally have a handle on these matters, so to speak, homeopathy really is a function of scalar energy.   Tom Paladino 07:10 In other words, before you have a physical body, you have to have instructions. If science ever considered the fact that there are seven chakras, and it's my consideration that those chakras are empowered, or instructed by scalar energy, then we have those seven points of instruction in our body. And those seven scalar energy vortices give the body their information that they need.   Tom Paladino So scalar light is much more than just the intelligence of the universe, it sustains everything. Without scalar light. We wouldn't have a heartbeat without scalar light we would not have brainwaves. Without scalar light, the universe would be pure chaos in an instant, in an instant. So, I would say that that's the fundament of the universe, scalar light, that's the information system of the universe. And I have the ability to control that energy by way of a device     About Tom Paladino Tom Paladino is a scalar energy researcher based in Florida. Scalar energy is the fundamental life force found everywhere in the world, space, and universe. It originates from the sun and stars. Chi, prana, OM, mana, life force, pyramid energy, or zero-point energy are synonymous terms for scalar energy.  He theorized that all energy in the universe initiates as scalar energy; and that the sun of our solar system and the stars of the universe are the points of origin, “the storehouses,” for scalar energy. He further theorized that scalar energy is instructive energy, as the entire universe is instructed by this Divine Essence. Subsequently, all spiritual, cognitive, emotional, and physical activity in the universe is initiated and maintained by scalar energy instructions. Scalar energy provides order in the universe.  CORE PASSION/PURPOSE:  I want to heal the world for the glory of God and the benefit of people.  There must be meaningful progress to heal mankind of disease.  Scalar Light is the answer for many Spiritual, mental-emotional and physical diseases.  I believe it will be necessary to treat most of the people in the world free of charge with Scalar Light.  Hence, I envision a worldwide, free healing ministry for billions of people. For the transcript and full story go to: https://www.drmanonbolliger.com/esther-onyoni   Highlights from today's episode include: Dr. Esther Onyoni 05:00 To me, it seemed that the people that always tended to make me want to hit the reset button that the people who had chronic conditions, diabetes stood out for me, because I definitely see a lot of those prescriptions. And it's more, I can see the prescription, and then I can look at somebody's face. And I could see that that's probably just not all I need to get to them. So, there is more. So, when you dig deeper into what else is going on, you're free.   Dr. Esther Onyoni Now the functional medicine portion is because I was really fascinated that you can actually get to the bottom of this. And you don't have to just keep treating the condition of just managing the condition, you can actually get to the bottom of how you got here.   Dr. Esther Onyoni So, if you help someone in functional medicine, you help find the root cause of why they are where they are, they will see why they need to either get involved into some kind of physical activity or why they need to be involved in any kind of nutrition, healthy nutrition. And so that fascinated me. So, I'm really working into that and encouraging my patients that there is a way you can get to the root cause of this.   About Dr. Esther Onyoni Dr. Esther Onyoni is a Pharmacist, Functional Medicine Practitioner and a Certified Health Coach. She works with people living with diabetes who are struggling to keep their numbers within normal ranges and maintain their energy through the day to successfully get their best readings, gain their energy and feel better. Esther's passion for finding a better way for her clients was sparked after over a decade of practicing as a pharmacist. She took care of people living with diabetes and other chronic conditions and noticed that they were on multiple medications. Their medication lists kept getting longer each time they saw their doctor. Some medications were given to treat side effects caused by other medications.  That is why she decided to get involved in aiding her clients to manage diabetes. She became a Health Coach and Functional Medicine Practitioner and helps her clients get to the root of their diabetes and take charge of their health. Core purpose / passion: My mission is to educate and inspire individuals to be active participants in their own health. I'm passionate about teaching individuals that they can hit the reset button and get better.
