I Umeå pågår just nu det kulturpolitiska toppmötet Arctic Arts Summit – ett arktiskt toppmöte för bland annat samtal om urfolks rättigheter, klimat och säkerhetspolitik – där frågor om kultur, beredskap och försvar diskuteras och P1 Kulturs Helene Alm har bland annat träffat den norska konstnären Amund Sjølie Sveen. Sedan 2007 arbetar hon med Kosta Boda, men numera skapar hon också skulpturer och installationer i andra material. Hon fick sitt genombrott med examensarbetet från Konstfack 2004, "Vad fin du är i håret" som inspirerade till serien "Make Up" för Kosta Boda – en serie som gjorde henne känd för en bredare allmänhet. Nu är hon aktuell med sommarutställningen "Kalejdoskop" på Designarkivet i Pukeberg, där skisser till hennes verk och publiksuccéer ställs ut.GALLERIRUNDA I UNDERJORDEN – KONST I STOCKHOLMS TUNNELBANATunnelbanan i Stockholm är känd för sin konst, både platsspecifik och tillfällig, och det sägs att de till ytan är världens största konstutställning, enligt SL den längsta, hela 110 km. Det har funnits konst på t-banestationerna sedan 50-talet och med utbyggnaden av tunnelbanenätet blir det också nya konstverk, numera också på vissa pendeltågsstationer, busshållplatser och utmed spårvägen. Just nu pågår till exempel arbetet med den nya stationen Hagastaden, där Åsa Jungnelius skapar "Snäckan" och i Slussens nya bussterminal svarar Gunilla Klingberg för den konstnärliga gestaltningen med konstverket "Den röda tråden". Jeremie McGowan is an artist, designer, and researcher. Amund Sjolie Sveen is an artist. And together, they created Real. Arctic., an exhibition that examines how the word “Arctic” is used in branding, institutions, geopolitics, and everyday consumer products — and how the use of that word shapes what we think we know about the arctic. Their work blurs the line between critique and commodity, asking who gets to define the Arctic, who profits from it, and what gets flattened in the process. Throughout the exhibition, the work shifts form — from displays of “Pure Arctic” deodorant to an expanding archive of Arctic-branded objects — asking viewers to reconsider what is real and what has been manufactured. It explores how art and design can both construct and unravel powerful narratives about place, and what responsibility comes with working inside those systems. Jeremie and Amund collect and document products from around the world that call themselves “Arctic,” or borrow the image, the light, or the myth of the Arctic to sell something. Even when those products have no connection to the place itself. Deodorants that promise Arctic purity, chewing gum that offers polar freshness, outdoor brands that are marketed around rugged endurance and masculine extremes. Again and again, the Arctic appears as clean, untouched, and invigorating — a blank canvas for refreshment or conquest. As Jeremie points out, much of that marketing is driven by an outsider fantasy: the idea that you're the first, the only one to witness the wilderness or the Northern Lights, even as that experience is packaged and sold en masse. Amund says that the Arctic's power as a word may lie in its perceived remoteness. Because it feels unknown, it can be filled with whatever we want it to mean. And in that process, the realities of the place itself and the people who live there often fall away and what remains is a brand. And then, beneath all of that, is a deeper question about power: who gets to define a place, and whose version of that place becomes the story that guides our understanding of it.

It's always important to properly research the husbandry needs of a species before we take on its care as a keeper. An understanding of  the animal's natural history, it's captive care needs, behavior, and longevity, is vital if we are to succeed. Equally important though, (yet not always accepted)  is the value of continuing our education and accepting that we are always developing as keepers. This week I am joined by Billy Sveen of Creepers Herpeteculture and we discuss his approach to proper husbandry research and continuing education in the hobby. We talk about starting out with dart frogs, how to pace ourselves as our collections grow, the value that scientific papers have in our husbandry decisions, and how to look at herpeteculture  as a long term process. I am so excited to have our guest, Bonnie Sveen, joining us in today's episode.  Bonnie is a Logie Award winning actor known for her roles in Home and Away, The Secret Daughter, and Netflix's Escape and Evasion. She now lives back in Tasmania and is the mother of young twins. Bonnie is a vocal environmentalist, she is an ambassador for Save the Tassie Devil Appeal, a Board Member for Friends of Bonorong (Wildlife Sanctuary) and is an emerging director, producer and screenwriter. And beyond all that, she is a simply delightful human.  Bonnie has always felt a connection to the Universe and through her career, she found that the language of being led by one's heart and allowing it to guide her was closely related to her acting process. Through years of auditioning and self-reflection, Bonnie learned to trust her own desires, ambitions, and creative persuits. She has also experienced how surrendering to the natural flows and cycles can bring us more joy and improve our relationship to productivity. Jared Sveen is a born and raised Lincolnite (from Lincoln Nebraska). Straight out of College, he had an "exciting" career as an auditor working for the IRS. This is where Jared noticed a trend in certain audits he did: The people who appeared to have it all were actually the ones drowning in credit card debt while the ones who were successful and living comfortably owned Real Estate. Well, that wasn't a clear enough signal for him to get started right away as it took him another 5 years to take the first step and buy his first investment property. However, it did plant the seed and that's what ultimately began the journey to where Jared is today with a portfolio ranging from multiple single family homes to as much as a 12 unit multifamily. Jared's Failing Forward stresses the importance of taking action. The other part of it will be specific to each persons needs as sometimes trying to sell a property at the "peak of the market" turns out to be a tad bit too soon. Marianne Sveen forlot Katzenjammer etter nærmere 10 år for å fokusere på egne prosjekter. I oktober kom debutalbumet "Next of Kin" ut. Tiden i mellom har bydd på opp og nedturer.

Det er over 80 millioner flyktninger i verden og cirka 34 millioner som har flyktet fra sitt hjemland til et annet land. I snitt er de som flykter på flukt i 17 år! Noen av dem kommer aldri frem. Noen av dem kommer til Norge og noen av dem er ungdommer. Hvorfor måtte de flykte? Mohd hadde bodd hele sitt liv i en palestinsk flyktningler utenfor Damaskus i Syria. Familien hadde bodd der i generasjoner, helt siden 1948. Han var 16 år og satt og spilte Counter-Strike da bombeangrepet kom. - Det var som om krigen i spillet fylte rommet mitt, sier han. En av de største utfordringene vi har i verden i dag er knyttet opp mot bærekraft, men hva betyr dette for organisasjoner, og hva betyr bærekraftig egentlig? Og kan vi ta med oss bærekraft inn i hvordan vi tenker rundt folkene våre, organiseringen vår, og hvordan vi kan bli mer tilpasningsdyktige? Hva er smidig og digitalisering sin plass i alt dette?    For å lære mer, diskutere og reflektere har vi besøk av Håkon Sveen fra Bærepodden. Håkon var med på den smidige transformasjonen til NAV på kommunikasjons siden, og jobber nå i Footstep AS med ja, du gjettet det, med kommunikasjon og bærekraft.

Terje Bjøranger jobber som politiadvokat i Kripos. Han debuterte i 2012 med Den tredje søsteren. I Barcode (2017) og Business (2019) følger vi den røffe politietterforskeren Charlie Robertsen. På forsommeren kommer Kalifatet, hvor Charlie Robertson og hans politikolleger må jobbe effektivt og godt for å avverge flere tilsynelatende IS-relaterte drap og ikke minst avverge terroraksjoner man frykter er under planlegging. Gard Sveen brakdebuterte med Den siste pilegrimen. Boken vant Rivertonprisen i 2013, den skandinaviske prisen Glassnøkkelen i 2014, Maurits Hansen-prisen for beste krimdebut og i 2015 også den danske Palle Rosenkranz-prisen for årets beste krimroman. Jenny Sveen Hovda har to barn og er advokat, partner og styremeldem i Bull & Co advokatfirma. For at hun skal kunne følge karrieredrømmen har mannen hennes trappet ned til 50 % stilling, MEN han jobber offshore så han er likevel jevnlig borte en uke i strek. Hva gjør hun når hun skal i retten og et barn må hentes tidlig pga. sykdom? Og hva skjedde når hun som ny på vei inn i styret ba om å flytte fast tidspunkt for styremøte fra ettermiddag og familietid til inn i kjernetiden på jobben?

Finnes det klassereiser i 2020? Hvordan ser de i såfall ut? Og hvis det finnes klassereiser må det vel også fortsatt finnes en arbeiderklasse å reise fra? Det er 20 år siden Karin Sveen ga ut sitt banebrytende tekst: "Klassereise: Et livshistorisk essay" hvor hun fortalte om sin egen klassereise fra innlandet til hovedstaden og universitetet. Vi tar opp tråden fra Sveen og snakker videre. Med oss har vi Bjørn Hatterud, Ole Thorstensen og Elise F. Djupedal som samtaleleder.

- En eventyrlig utvikling, sier Gjøvik-ordfører Torvild Sveen om den tidligere høgskolen i byen som i dag er NTNU Gjøvik. Om viserektor Jørn Wroldsen framskriver utviklingen i takten til nå, vil universitetet om 20 år ha 12.000 studenter, 12-1300 ansatte og fylle hele Kallerud-platået med bygg.
