Sintana CEO: Strong oil discovery momentum in Namibia

Proactive - Interviews for investors

Sintana Energy CEO Robert Bose recently spoke with Steve Darling from Proactive to share excitement that is building in offshore Namibia following a series of major technical disclosures from Galp Energia within Petroleum Exploration Licence 83 (PEL 83), where the Portuguese energy company has identified an estimated 10 billion barrels of original oil in place from its first two exploration wells at the Mopane prospect. This significant update was highlighted by industry analyst and commentator Mr. Bose, who called the disclosure “very promising and very exciting”—marking a pivotal moment in the evolution of Namibia's offshore oil narrative. Galp's estimates were backed by a resource assessment from renowned petroleum consulting firm DeGolyer and MacNaughton, which confirmed 900 million barrels of contingent recoverable resources based on operations completed as of November 30, 2024. “This is the first real glimpse we've had into the scale of what Mopane could represent,” said Bose, emphasizing that the data reveals both the technical robustness and commercial potential of the project. Bose also spoke to the broader sentiment shift in Namibia's upstream oil sector. While global supermajors such as Shell, Chevron, TotalEnergies, and Woodside have encountered a mix of technical and operational hurdles in the region over the past few years, a renewed sense of cautious optimism is taking hold. The growing interest from top-tier exploration and production companies is evident, he noted, particularly following a strong industry presence at a recent energy conference in Namibia—the fourth such event attended by Bose. Adding further momentum to the offshore Namibian story is the recent drilling success announced by Rhino Resources. Operating near Sintana Energy's acreage, Rhino reported flow rates of 11,000 barrels of oil per day from a new discovery. The result not only validates the regional hydrocarbon system but also opens new possibilities for shallow-water exploration—an area Bose described as “really exciting” and underexplored compared to deeper prospects. #proactiveinvestors #sintanaenergyinc #tsxv #sei #otcqb #seusf #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews #OilExploration #Namibia #OrangeBasin #EnergySector #PEL83 #RobertBose #GalpEnergia #Chevron #QatarEnergy #EnergyNews #ProactiveInvestors #2025EnergyTrends

Donald Trump will be president of the United States for a second time. Trump's decisive victory Tuesday plunges the U.S., the world and Canada into uncharted territory. The president-elect pledged to deport American residents, slap tariffs on imported goods, and renegotiate a crucial trade deal with Canada and Mexico. Not only are Canada and the U.S. each other's largest trading partner with $3.6 billion worth of goods and services crossing the border each day, but millions of jobs also rely on that two-way trade and investment. This week on “It's Political” we'll take a look at the Canada-United States-Mexico-Agreement (CUSMA) or as it is called in the United States, the U.S.M.C.A., and the trade irritants that have popped up since the deal came into effect four years ago. Automotive Parts Manufacturers' Association President Flavio Volpe, Ontario Independent Senator and former president of the Canadian Labour Congress Hassan Yussuff, Canadian Chamber of Commerce Vice President of Strategic Policy and Global Partnerships Catherine Fortin LeFaivre, International Trade Lawyer and McMillan Partner William Pellerin, and Future Borders Coalition Executive Director Laura Dawson will join us. But we'll begin with the first of a two-part discussion about the impact of Trump's election on geopolitics, lessons learned from the last round of trade negotiations, and how Canadians political parties can prepare with Canada's former ambassador to the U.S. David MacNaughton and prime minister Justin Trudeau's former principal secretary and Eurasia Group Vice Chairman Gerald Butts.  5:24 -- MacNaughton and Butts part 1 25:00 -- Mini-documentary on CUSMA and trade irritants 48:40 -- MacNaughton and Butts part 2 Some of the clips this week were sourced from the Canadian Parliamentary Press Gallery, CPAC, Global, Fox, Bloomberg, CTV, CBC, C-SPAN, and CP24. In this tenderly illustrated guide to saying goodbye, MacNaughton shows how to make sure those moments are meaningful. Using a framework of “the five things” taught to her by a professional caregiver, How to Say Goodbye provides a model for having conversations of love, respect, and closure: with the words “I forgive you,” “Please forgive me,” “Thank you,” “I love you,” and “Goodbye,” each oriented toward finding mutual peace and understanding when it matters most. In 2017, illustrator Wendy McNaughton completed an artist-in-residency at the Zen Hospice Guest House in San Francisco. She got to know families, caregivers, staff, and the dying. What emerged is her new book, “How To Say Goodbye.” Drawn-from-life illustrations are paired with gentle advice on how to let someone go. “The person dying is in charge,” reflects MacNaughton, and her book offers simple ways to be witness to a loved one's last moments. And when mutual peace and understanding matters the most, she writes, simple declarations like,“I forgive you. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you. Goodbye” can offer closure. We'll talk to MacNaughton and a hospice caregiver. Guests: Wendy MacNaughton, illustrator; artist; graphic journalist - McNaughton's latest book is "How to Say Goodbye." She has illustrated or authored eleven books, including "Salt Fat Acid Heat," and "Meanwhile in San Francisco," and is the creator of DrawTogether, the educational drawing program for kids and adults Ladybird Morgan, co founder Humane Prison Hospice Project - Morgan is a registered nurse and clinical social worker and has worked in end of life care for over 20 years. This week, we talk to the authors of two new books – one about our relationship to work, and another one about hospice and art. In the first half of this program, we talk to Simone Stolzoff. He's the author of a new book, “The Good Enough Job: Reclaiming life from Work”. It takes a critical look at the way work has become so central to our identities - oftentimes at the expense of family, community and health. For artist Wendy MacNaughton, drawing is a vehicle for connection. Her subjects are often people and places typically over-looked. That's certainly the case with her new book, “How to Say Goodbye.” It's a collection of portraits she drew during her time as artist in residence at a hospice center in San Francisco.  MacNaughton was joined in this interview by her colleague Ladybird Morgan - a nurse, social worker, and palliative care consultant. Both interviews were conducted in the studios of KQED in San Francisco on August 14, 2023, by neuroscientist, musician, and podcaster Indre Viskontas.
