Two Trumbull County hospitals will begin shutting down following an announcement by Steward Health Care this week. The Texas-based for-profit owner of the hospitals, which has filed for bankruptcy, set the closure date for September. Steward said in a statement to WKBN-TV it had to close the hospitals due to cash constraints and after a search for a buyer failed, though a local group of health care professionals has been working to purchase and operate Trumbull Regional. Six additional medical facilities including a surgery center and two rehabilitation centers will also close. The story begins this week's discussion of news on the Friday “Reporters Roundtable.”

When it comes to reporting UFO sightings, it often happens that local police departments are the first organizations witnesses turn to. Many times, the reports to police take place while the UFO is still active in the area and patrol officers are able to respond and verify witness accounts. Famous examples are the 1966 case involving Dale Spaur and his partner, Wilbur “Barney” Neff, who chased a UFO from Portage County, Ohio, all the way into Pennsylvania, and another Ohio case, this time in Trumbull County in 1994, involving multiple officers chasing and observing UFOs. Their radio interactions have been preserved in the form of a recording from the police dispatch that was turned over to researcher Kenny Young. This week, we'll look at a 1972 case out of Colby, Kansas, that involved multiple police witnesses and multiple UFOs. Read more →

She'll be joined by a Miami attorney & Paul Tallini, a Paralegal specialist. On all social media sites, Carol Lynne, known as Lynne Morgan, had to endure almost 20 years of living in an abusive marriage. One day, with family and friends' support, she filed for divorce in Trumbull County's family court. The subsequent events in Carol Lynne's case will shock our audience like never before. Carol Lynne was almost murdered by her ex-spouse Leby Sassya. It appears he decided to use the family court and appellate court as a weapon against Carol Lynne. She is brave enough to expose the Trumbull County fraud and corruption, and in turn, the justice system has retaliated as it appears “they are all in this together.” She has been separated from her children for reporting human bite marks and other abusive and violent acts on her children and herself. Her story is shocking and contains proof of felony forgery on an official court document. Then, the players involved have gone to the great length to cover up the nefarious actions to cover it all up. Tune in and prepare to hear a story worse than any True Crime story or 48 Hours Mystery. In 1994 a UFO was spotted by numerous people calling into the Liberty Township's 911 call center. Roy Ann Rudolph was the dispatcher on duty that evening taking most of these calls. Roy Ann was also taking response calls from all the law enforcement officers on duty through out the county. Numerous county patrol cars were responding and chasing these things from Ohio into Pennsylvania. Over ten different departments.Five years later in 1999, this incident went national with Art Bell's Coast to Coast radio program. A co-worker of mine in 1994 working the midnight shift, came into work and announced that he just seen a UFO flying over route 193 in Liberty Township. The craft was traveling about 25 mph and then came to a complete stop between a 4 lane highway. Approximately 30 feet off the ground and 50 yards wide with beautiful lights on it. It sat there about a minute and then just zipped up and complete out of site in a second. We treated Bob, my co-worker, like he was crazy. The same response that Roy Ann treated the call ins.I am honored that Roy Ann came on my show to talk about her experience that night. I through some tough questions at her that she answered honestly. The main question is still unanswered. WHAT WAS IT? WAS THERE A COVER UP? A few of my concerns are:1. The FAA couldn't see it where he was sitting 70 feet up in the air, yet officers near by can see it from the ground.2. Friends of mine in law enforcement said they were told it was a weather balloon.3. TV and Newspaper journalists and TV reporters were there and yet nothing, NOTHING, was put in the local newspapers or on the news.4. Two of my friends who witnessed this still won't come on my show and talk about this 28 years later. If you have any info on this incident or know someone who has, please contact me, Al Cooley, cooley54@gmail.comDo you have a paranormal story to share or know someone who does, contact me at:cooley54@gmail.comMusic: Energetic MusicArtwork: Cheryl Heath

As far as classic UFO cases go, Ohio may very well have more than any other state. There was the 1966 case where Deputy Sheriff Dale Spaur and his partner chased a UFO from Portage County, Ohio, all the way into Pennsylvania at speeds up to 100 mph. In 1973, there was the Coyne Incident, where four men in the Army Reserve reported an encounter near Mansfield, Ohio, with a UFO that pulled their helicopter, commanded by Lawrence J. Coyne, up from 1,700 feet to 3,500 feet while the controls were set for a descent. In 1994, police in Trumbull County responded to a police dispatcher who said she'd received calls about a UFO from local citizens. Before the night was over, police from five different departments gave chase, and a recording of their radio exchanges with the dispatch was given to researcher Kenny Young, who brought the case to the attention of the UFO community and the world. A 1971 case from Huron County, Ohio, that had multiple witnesses, including police officers, didn't gain nearly was much notoriety as those above, and one might wonder if it might have been because of the way it was treated by the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena. The main witness sent a report to NICAP, but NICAP was in the midst of changes that may or not have been overseen by either or both the Air Force and the CIA. Read more →

Classroom 2.0 LIVE webinar "Parenting in the Digital Age" with special guest presenter, Steve Garton from Common Sense Education, April 22, 2017. Digital citizenship and keeping kids safe online is such an important topic. We were so proud to be able to feature #digcitkids in a recent webinar with Curran Dee and Marialice Curran, a mother/son team who are the co-founders of #digcitkids. Curran shared "Digital Citizenship from a Kid's Perspective" and it was so exciting to hear about their initiative. In today's webinar we are thrilled to hear from Steve Garton from Common Sense Education to learn how the amazing Common Sense resources can support parents and educators with "Parenting in the Digital Age." The Common Sense resources are exemplary and this is the "go to" site for teachers and parents alike when they want support for curriculum, ideas and materials that will help promote safe online activities with kids. Steve will share information about many of these resources including Common Sense Media, Common Sense Education, Common Sense Kids Action and Connecting Families. His insights into the research about how teens/tweens are using media and ways to help them find balance with their digital lifestyle will be invaluable and will provide ways parents and teachers can support activities such as video games, social media, screen time, sharing online and much more! Steve Garton is Senior Manager for Common Sense Education. He is an expert in meaningful technology integration, particularly in large-scale initiatives. He supports districts with professional development planning, program monitoring, student assessment, and communication across stakeholder groups. Prior to joining Common Sense, Steve was the Coordinator of Educational Technology for the Maine Department of Education. At the Maine Department of Education, he led the professional development programs for the Maine Learning Technology Initiative, the state’s 1:1 program that supported over 12,000 teachers and administrators. As a member of the department’s leadership team, he provided policy support and leadership. Steve was co-chair of the Smarter Balanced Consortium Technology Approach Committee and led the initial technology readiness and assessment infrastructure work. Additionally, he served as a member of the advisory council of the Maine School and Library Network, Maine’s statewide broadband network serving K-12 schools and public libraries. Steve has served as a technology director at the county level (Trumbull County, Ohio) and a classroom teacher and technology coordinator of the Sharon City School District in Pennsylvania. https://www.commonsense.org/education/digital-citizenship
