Jesse Starcher, Robert Cooper and Mark Radulich present their Alcest Les Chants de l Aurore Metal Album Review as part of the MHOD Jukebox!Les Chants de l'Aurore (transl. The Songs of Dawn) is the seventh studio album by French post-black metal band Alcest, released on 21 June 2024 by Nuclear Blast.Alcest is a French post-black metal band from Bagnols-sur-Cèze, founded and led by Neige (Stéphane Paut). It began in 2000 as a black metal solo project by Neige, then became a trio, but members Aegnor and Argoth left the band following the 2001 release of their first demo, leaving Neige as the sole member. Neige began incorporating elements of shoegaze and post-metal into the project's sound from 2005 onwards and is largely credited with pioneering the fusion genre known as blackgaze. In 2009, drummer Winterhalter from Les Discrets joined Alcest, after eight years with Neige as its sole full-time member.Since its creation, Alcest has released seven studio albums and a number of EPs and split releases. Their fourth album, 2014's Shelter, marked a dramatic shift towards a distinctly shoegaze sound, while their subsequent album Kodama (2016) marked a return to their earlier blackgaze sound. The band are widely credited with pioneering the blackgaze/post-black metal genre, particularly with their 2005 EP Le secret. All of that plus video reviews of ALCEST - Protection, LORDI - Dead Again Jayne, ALCEST - Flamme Jumelle and GWAR cover "I'm Just Ken".Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

The biggest names in Hollywood and Broadway recorded for AFRS during the war years, The American Forces Network can trace its origins back to May 26, 1942, when the War Department established the Armed Forces Radio Service (AFRS). The U.S. Army began broadcasting from London during World War II, using equipment and studio facilities borrowed from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). The first transmission to U.S. troops began at 5:45 p.m. on July 4, 1943, and included less than five hours of recorded shows, a BBC news and sports broadcast. That day, Corporal Syl Binkin became the first U.S. Military broadcasters heard over the air. The signal was sent from London via telephone lines to five regional transmitters to reach U.S. troops in the United Kingdom as they prepared for the inevitable invasion of Nazi-occupied Europe. Fearing competition for civilian audiences the BBC initially tried to impose restrictions on AFN broadcasts within Britain (transmissions were only allowed from American Bases outside London and were limited to 50 watts of transmission power) and a minimum quota of British produced programming had to be carried. Nevertheless AFN programmes were widely enjoyed by the British civilian listeners who could receive them and once AFN operations transferred to continental Europe (shortly after D-Day) AFN were able to broadcast with little restriction with programmes available to civilian audiences across most of Europe (including Britain) after dark. As D-Day approached, the network joined with the BBC and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation to develop programs especially for the Allied Expeditionary Forces. Mobile stations, complete with personnel, broadcasting equipment, and a record library were deployed to broadcast music and news to troops in the field. The mobile stations reported on front line activities and fed the news reports back to studio locations in London. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Entertainment Radio Stations Live 24/7 Sherlock Holmes/CBS Radio Mystery Theater https://live365.com/station/Sherlock-Holmes-Classic-Radio--a91441 https://live365.com/station/CBS-Radio-Mystery-Theater-a57491 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why is it that people in the AEC industry have a tendency to be non-entrepreneurial?Scratch that…Why are there entrepreneurs in almost every (if not all) industries that focus too much on the technical side of things and pay poor attention to the financial aspect? This is a common mistake we see among entrepreneurs. They're trying to scale their companies by going after any and every opportunity they can get their hands on.The problem here is that they're not managing a business like a business. They're managing it like a job! They keep pouring in ideas about how projects MIGHT BE completed from their professional perspective, not taking into account if the business itself has the capacity in terms of manpower, logistics, budget, among other key components to actualizing a plan. Are the projects feasible? In theory, they almost always are! But before shooting for a project, there's a need to respect and recognize all possible outcomes, including the worst-case scenarios – and that doesn't make you a pessimist…it makes you a well-informed entrepreneur.Exactly what Chris Winterhalter is, and what makes for a very successful business, like Hotel Rehabs, LLC, a nationwide hotel renovation company specializing in branded and independent boutique projects. Hotel Rehabs is a close knit, tightly-held firm that prides itself on its strong business relationships and ability to meet customer needs at the highest value.Chris Winterhalter is the CEO and co-founder of Hotel Rehabs, LLC, a national hotel renovation contractor based in Chicago. Since 2010, Chris has completed dozens of major branded hotel projects across the country, from New York to San Diego.Besides his bountiful experience in the industry, what makes Chris, and subsequently Hotel Rehabs, a force to reckon with in the industry is his ability to recognize the worst-case scenarios which allows him to create solutions before any problems actually surface, thus leading to the best-case scenario. On top of that, Chris believes that scalability is a mindset. A company doesn't scale simply because it can take on any and all projects. In niching down and taking specialized projects, Hotel Rehabs was able to create a highly demanded premium service that's key to scaling the business! What other key strategies does Hotel Rehabs implement to secure the possibility of exponential growth? How does a well-structured internal recruitment engine tie in to the business's success? F., Winterhalter, P., Hoelscher, C., Henning, R., Himmelreich, N., Thiel, C., Ruppert, T., Rapp, E., Strahl, S. Abstract: Defects in protein O-mannosylation lead to severe congenital muscular dystrophies known as -dystroglycanopathy. A hallmark of these diseases is the loss of the O-mannose-bound matriglycan on -dystroglycan, which leads to a reduction in cell adhesion to the extracellular matrix. Mutations in protein O-mannose {beta}1,2-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase 1 (POMGNT1), which is crucial for the elongation of O-mannosyl glycans, are mainly associated with muscle-eye-brain (MEB) disease. In addition to defects in cell-extracellular matrix adhesion, aberrant cell-cell adhesion has occasionally been observed in response to defects in POMGNT1. However, direct molecular mechanisms are largely unknown. We used POMGNT1 knock-out HEK293T cells and fibroblasts from a MEB patient to gain a deeper insight into the molecular changes in POMGNT1 deficiency. A combination of biochemical and molecular biological techniques with proteomics, glycoproteomics and glycomics revealed that a lack of POMGNT1 activity strengthens cell-cell adhesion. We demonstrate that the altered intrinsic adhesion properties are due to an increased abundance of N-cadherin (N-Cdh). In addition, site-specific changes in the N-glycan structures in the extracellular domain of N-Cdh were detected, which positively impact on homotypic interactions. We found that in POMGNT1 deficient cells ERK1/2 and p38 signaling pathways are activated and transcriptional changes that are comparable to the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) are triggered, defining a possible molecular mechanism underlying the observed phenotype. Our study indicates that changes in cadherin-mediated cell-cell adhesion and other EMT-related processes may contribute to the complex clinical symptoms of MEB or -dystroglycanopathy in general, and suggests a previously underestimated impact of changes in O-mannosylation on N-glycosylation. The first of two films that John Williams would score in 1963 took him back to dramatic territory, specifically the lush locales of Hawaii in the Charlton Heston film "Diamond Head." There wasn't much opportunity for Williams to stretch his composing muscles, as he was restrained by the existence of a theme composed by Hugo Winterhalter. The score to "Diamond Head" was full of Winterhalter's theme, with Williams simply filling in the gaps in this sparse score. At least Williams gets a "Music By" credit on the film. Take a listen to this score with host Jeff Commings, and examine how well Williams works with his orchestrator to put his stamp on the score. And we'll discuss the situation concerning the casting of white actors in roles that should have gone to Hawaiian actors, something Hollywood continues to do in the 21st century.

A certain importance attaches to the views on art of painters, and this is the natural place for me to set down what I know of Strickland's opinions of the great artists of the past. I am afraid I have very little worth noting. Strickland was not a conversationalist, and he had no gift for putting what he had to say in the striking phrase that the listener remembers. He had no wit. His humour, as will be seen if I have in any way succeeded in reproducing the manner of his conversation, was sardonic. His repartee was rude. He made one laugh sometimes by speaking the truth, but this is a form of humour which gains its force only by its unusualness; it would cease to amuse if it were commonly practised.Strickland was not, I should say, a man of great intelligence, and his views on painting were by no means out of the ordinary. I never heard him speak of those whose work had a certain analogy with his own -- of Cezanne, for instance, or of Van Gogh; and I doubt very much if he had ever seen their pictures. He was not greatly interested in the Impressionists. Their technique impressed him, but I fancy that he thought their attitude commonplace. When Stroeve was holding forth at length on the excellence of Monet, he said: "I prefer Winterhalter. " But I dare say he said it to annoy, and if he did he certainly succeeded.I am disappointed that I cannot report any extravagances in his opinions on the old masters. There is so much in his character which is strange that I feel it would complete the picture if his views were outrageous. I feel the need to ascribe to him fantastic theories about his predecessors, and it is with a certain sense of disillusion that I confess he thought about them pretty much as does everybody else. I do not believe he knew El Greco. He had a great but somewhat impatient admiration for Velasquez. Chardin delighted him, and Rembrandt moved him to ecstasy. He described the impression that Rembrandt made on him with a coarseness I cannot repeat. The only painter that interested him who was at all unexpected was Brueghel the Elder. I knew very little about him at that time, and Strickland had no power to explain himself. I remember what he said about him because it was so unsatisfactory."He's all right, " said Strickland. "I bet he found it hell to paint. "When later, in Vienna, I saw several of Peter Brueghel's pictures, I thought I understood why he had attracted Strickland's attention. Here, too, was a man with a vision of the world peculiar to himself. I made somewhat copious notes at the time, intending to write something about him, but I have lost them, and have now only the recollection of an emotion. He seemed to see his fellow-creatures grotesquely, and he was angry with them because they were grotesque; life was a confusion of ridiculous, sordid happenings, a fit subject for laughter, and yet it made him sorrowful to laugh. Brueghel gave me the impression of a man striving to express in one medium feelings more appropriate to expression in another, and it may be that it was the obscure consciousness of this that excited Strickland's sympathy. Perhaps both were trying to put down in paint ideas which were more suitable to literature.Strickland at this time must have been nearly forty-seven.

Im Gespräch mit Dr. Winterhalter über Besonderheiten, Bedeutung und Erfolgsaussichten der elektrophysiologischen Herzkatheteruntersuchung.

Vienna Hofburg - Imperial Apartments, Sisi Museum, Silver Collection

The young empress begins to suffer from insomnia, a lack of appetite and a persistent cough. As a preventative measure against lung disease her doctors recommend that she is sent to Madeira. For the first time Sisi is again free of any obligations and can enjoy life far from the stifling constraints of the court. When Elisabeth returns to the Viennese court after an absence of two years, a profound transformation has taken place. The once graceful but shy and melancholic young girl has become a self-confident, proud beauty. This is the period in which the famous portraits by Franz Xaver Winterhalter were painted. The most famous of this series, painted in 1865, is without doubt the portrait displayed here which shows Elisabeth wearing a ballgown known as the “star dress” together with the famous diamond stars in her hair. Elisabeth owned a set of 27 diamond stars, some of which she later bequeathed to her granddaughter, Archduchess Elisabeth, daughter of Crown Prince Rudolf. The glass stele contains a replica of these diamond stars.www.hofburg-wien.at | Download Tour-Guide (PDF)© by Schloß Schönbrunn Kultur- und Betriebsges.m.b.H.

Przedstawia on Elżbietę w przepysznej kreacji wieczorowej, w tzw. sukni gwiaździstej - we włosach cesarzowej połyskują słynne diamentowe gwiazdy.

Mladá císaøovna trpí stále více nespavostí, nechutenstvím a trvalým kašlem.
