Wie in einem Computerspiel werden wir so Level um Level transformiert. Diese Transformation zeigt sich bei jedem Menschen individuell im jeweiligen Leben. On this episode we hear from Sofia. It was a female alumnus from her hotel school that inspired her to get into hospitality, because she wanted to be just like her. Her education was impacted by covid and had an interesting time entering the workforce, but as we will hear in her story, it all worked out. What started as a LinkedIn reach out because she was curious about how you run a pop-up hotel ended up her becoming co-founder of this business. And as a young co-founder she has recognised that she will need help and so she has created her own advisory board, which now also includes that same alumnus who inspired her to get into hospitality int he first place. While it has been a steep learning curve, what she has learnt is to embrace the unknow and be proud of what you are already capable of.

Wie jeder weiß,  hat ein Pferd vier Beiner, an jeder Ecke einer. Drei Beiner hätt‘, umfallen tät‘. Viel zu wenig Bedeutung schreibt man hingegen dem Huf zu, der doch so viel über die Gesundheit des Vierbeiners aussagt, betont  Hufschmied,  Biologe und Buchautor Michael Zanger, „es gibt keine Struktur beim Pferd, die sich so schnell verändert, so dass man auch sehr schnell Krankheiten erkennen kann.“ Vor allem stark unterschiedliche Hufformen sind ein Warnsignal. Eine zu steile Hufwand im Vergleich zu anderen oder verglichen mit dem anderen Huf  kann darauf hinweisen, dass die Seite mit der steilen Hufwand womöglich aus irgendeinem Krankheitsgrund geschont wird. Die Ursache kann aber auch an einer unbalancierten  Reiterin liegen oder auch an zu langen Hufbearbeitungsintervallen.  Der Huf kann insgesamt auch bei zu wenig Bewegung steiler werden oder es handelt sich beispielsweise um einen angeborenen Bockhuf. Hier sollte man mit der Hufbearbeiterin und Tierärztin Rücksprache halten. Sehr viel sagt auch der Strahl aus, wenn er beispielsweise nicht mittig ist sondern schief in der Sohle liegt, was auf einen unregelmäßigen Gang hinweisen könnte. Bei einem breiten Hufstrahl steht der Huf in der Regel zu flach. Es kommt zu viel Druck auf den Strahl wodurch er breiter wird. Steht der Huf zu flach, kommt auch beim Abhufen zu viel Druck auf die Zehen, häufig die Ursache für Hornspalten an der Zehe, die wiederum auch auf eine alte Verletzungen im Kronrand hinweisen können. Verschiedene Ursachen können auch Rillen im Huf haben. Zum einen eine harmlose Futterumstellung oder Medizingaben. Es können aber auch Anzeichen von Hufrehe sein. Stoffwechselstörungen lassen sich auch an der weißen Linie, die flexible Verbindung zwischen Hufwand und Sohle erkennen, in die sich gerne Steinchen drücken. Wenn die weiße Linie etwa sehr breit und unterbrochen ist, könnte das auf Hufrehe hinweisen.  Sieht man dort Rötungen, sei dies auf jeden Fall ein Fall für den Tierarzt . Ich habe noch nie in echt einen Radar gesehen, aber aus Filmen habe ich Erinnerungen, wie Spezialisten vor einem Monitor sitzen und dann gebannt auf den Bildschirmschauen und dort grüne Punkte sehen, die sichtbar werden, wenn kreisförmig ein Strahl in hoher Kadenz rotiert und diese Punkte dann eben sichtbar macht. Häufig ist es im Film dann spannend, weil es sich um einen feindlichen Angriff handelt oder sonst etwas Unerwartetes. Das Erkennen, dass da etwas in der Nähe ist, ist das eine, aber das andere, es auch korrekt zu identifizieren und dann entsprechende, passende Massnahmen einzuleiten. Fehlt der zweite Teil, könnten die eingeleiteten Massnahmen vielleicht sogar kontraproduktiv sein oder wirkungslos. Wir alle kennen das auch, dass wir nicht nur über den Verstand Dinge und Situationen wahrnehmen, die nicht gut sind. Allein darauf zu reagieren genügt aber nicht, die Reaktion sollte auch angemessen sein, um die Situation zu verbessern. Gelingt Dir das? Ich wünsche Dir einen aussergewöhnlichen Tag!

World leaders, business executives, activists, and delegates convene annually to discuss pressing climate change issues at the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change better known as COP. From November 6-20, 2022, COP marked its 27th year of negotiations and policy commitments, but this time at the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh. COP27 held high-level and side events, key negotiations, and press conferences, hosting more than 100 Heads of State and Governments, over 35,000 participants, and numerous pavilions showcasing climate action around the world and across different sectors. From corruption to famine, from the civil war to failing infrastructure, the urgency to address climate change continues to be on the back burner. Africa is far more likely to suffer the effects of global warming — some of which are already being felt. After years of resistance from rich governments, nations for the first time agreed to set up a fund to provide payouts to developing countries that suffer "loss and damage" from climate-driven storms, floods, droughts, and wildfires. Nevertheless, some electricity-poor nations in Africa argued for their right to develop their natural gas reserves, even as they face increasing climate impacts such as drought. In this episode Matt sits down with former Member of Parliament Chuck Strahl to talk about Faith & Politics. ABOUT Chuck Strahl was elected to the House of Commons in 1993 and was re-elected in 6 consecutive elections before retiring from Parliament. He filled a number of Parliamentary roles while in Opposition from 1993 to 2006, including House Leader and Deputy Speaker.
