Tiffany Keep (DAS-Hutchinson-Brother UK) will realise a dream when she rolls out for the women's road race at the Olympic Games in Paris on August 4, 2024. In this engaging interview, Tiffany describes her lifelong passion for cycling, her formative experiences as a mountain biker in Stellenbosch and her determination to develop her road racing skills in Europe from the moment she finished her degree studies.  Brother UK has been at Tiffany's side for the last two seasons, as co-title sponsor of Hutchinson-Brother UK last year and now as one of three companies supporting DAS-Hutchinson-Brother UK, a UCI Continental women's team that has provided Tiffany with racing opportunities in territories as distinct as East Cleveland and Portugal, Ilkley and Luxembourg.  In this engaging interview with co-host Timothy John, Tiffany describes the value of DAS-Hutchinson-Brother UK's diverse programme and the progress she's made as a rider since joining the squad. She pays tribute to the UK's thriving domestic scene and reveals how riding alongside world-class rivals in events like the Tour of Britain Women and the Volta a Portugal Feminina has helped her to overcome “imposter syndrome”.  Sporting events do not come bigger than the Olympics, and Tiffany relives the joyful moment in which she received the email confirming her participation. She shares her thoughts on the 158km course, describes her final pre-race preparations in Tours, just south of Paris, and expresses her determination to give her best for her country, riding in the service of Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio. From South Africa's gruelling Cape Epic mountain bike stage race to the Ride London Classique, Tiffany's varied and challenging route to the top will reach its climax, if not its culmination, in Paris. Discover her post-Games ambitions, her supportive relationships with friends, family and teammates, and learn how experience gained on the streets of Glasgow at last year's world championships might pay dividends in the City of Light when gold medals, rather than rainbow jerseys are at stake.

After an enthralling second edition of the Tour de France Femmes finishes with Demi Vollering's overall victory in Pau, these are RadioCycling's headlines...Bigger and better than in 2022, with a stronger, deeper and more competitive field, the Tour de France Femmes built towards a dramatic climax in the Pyrenean mist that will stay in the memory. We get a rider's perspective on the race from French star Audrey Cordon-Ragot.One of the dominant stories of the Tour de France Femmes was the crackdown by the UCI jury of commissaires on riders drafting behind cars when rejoining the peloton after a crash or a mechanical. Race winner Demi Vollering was penalised for doing it, while her Team SD Worx DS Danny Stam was kicked off the race for facilitating this. We examine the historical context for this hardline approach, hear from Stam and a fellow DS, Uno-X's Huub Duijn, who was also penalised, and from AG Insurance Soudal Quick-Step team leader Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio, who tells us the rules should be strictly and consistently imposed at all races.Remco Evenepoel's reign as world champion ended with him winning last weekend's Clásica San Sebastián, but the saga of his rumoured transfer away from Soudal-QuickStep rumbles on. Chris Marshall-Bell, who's so well informed on this story that even S-QS boss Patrick Lefevere asks him for the latest developments, provides an update on the those developments. As had been the case at the Tour de France, the issue of motorbikes and rider safety was highlighted on a number of occasions during the Tour de France Femmes. Adam Hansen, president of the riders' association (CPA), details the ways that things could be improved and explains his own invention of a laser-based system that could ensure that motorbikes don't hamper or interfere with racers.  And finally, in Ground Beans...– the latest on the transfer tug-of-war over Carlos Rodríguez– Caleb Ewan and Lotto-Dstny reach agreement on sprinter's future– Irish sprinter Sam Bennett set to move?Support the show

In this episode, we are joined by Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio and Xylon van Eyck, founders of the Rocacorba Collective, a cycling community aimed at revolutionising the indoor e-cycling experience by creating an inspiring, uplifting and safe space for women to come together to cycle, whatever their level or experience. Ashley, a three-time Olympian (five-time South African Champion and the 1st UCI Cycling Esports World Champion), and Xylon, a passionate storyteller and global connector of athletes and cyclists, delve into the world of cycling and sports, uncovering inspiring stories of resilience, competition, and excellence. The episode begins by exploring Xylon's transition from a media personality to the world of sports and cycling and his battle against cancer at 26. Initially shocked by the diagnosis, Xylon shares his journey of resilience and the emotional challenges he faced. Ashleigh also recounts her teenage ordeal with a head injury that almost damaged her brain and a later illness that shortened her aspirations of conquering the Tour de France. The discussion highlights the profound impact of sickness on the human psyche and the endurance required to overcome such challenges.Xylon and Ashleigh discuss the origins of the Rocacorba Collective and its significance in their personal journeys. Xylon, hailing from a disadvantaged South African community, recounts his passion for cycling and his determination to provide opportunities for others who aspire to reach the highest levels of the sport. Ashley shares her inspiring experiences in Eritrea and her realisation of the potential to support African women in pursuing cycling excellence in Europe. The conversation takes an intriguing turn as Ashleigh describes her discovery of the virtual world and indoor cycling during the COVID-19 pandemic. Recognising women's enhanced confidence and engagement in the virtual space, she saw an opportunity to foster community and empower women through indoor training platforms like Zwift. This realisation sparked the birth of the Rocacorba Collective, which extends beyond physical cycling tourism to a global virtual community. The collective's core objectives include providing training plans, coaching sessions, and building connections with riders in South Africa and beyond. Through strategic collaborations with organisations like Culture Cycles, the collective aims to break barriers and create a blueprint for eCenters in underprivileged African communities. These centres will serve as indoor training and learning facilities, paving the way for more women and individuals to excel in cycling and overcome their challenges in pursuing their dreams.Tune in to this episode to be inspired by the Rocacorba Collective's transformative vision and the commitment of Ashleigh and Xylon van Eyck to revolutionise cycling in Africa while empowering women to achieve their fullest potential.Links and Resources:•Find Ashleigh and Xylon on LinkedIn•Read more about the Rocacorba CollectiveThis podcast is produced by Nexa MediaDo you have a question for our hosts, email us at hello@changeafricapodcast.com Hosted on Acast. Pro Zwift racing has arrived, with the start of the Zwift Classics pro/am series. These six races feature $5,000 in prize cash, short and challenging courses, and fields comprised of pro and top amateur riders. So, what do you look for in a virtual race? On this week's episode of The VeloNews Podcast we take a deep dive into pro Zwift racing with two experts: Leah Thorvilson and Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio. Leah Thorvilson was the first winner of the Zwift Academy talent search back in 2016, which earned her a pro contract to race with the Canyon-SRAM road squad. Thorvilson breaks down the similarities and differences between Zwift and IRL (in real life) bike racing, and discusses her own experiences in WorldTour-level road events. Then, WorldTour veteran Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio explains why she's embraced Zwift riding during the coronavirus shutdown. Moolman-Pasio won the most recent Zwift Classics event, and it came after she dedicated herself to a month of training on the online platform. Why is she racing indoors, and how has it changed her riding style? We find out. This week's episode is sponsored by Giordana Cycling, makers of fine Italian cycling apparel. They hear from Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio about a fundamental UCI rule that she believes is based on data solely from male riders, and Liz Colebrook, one of the few female frame builders in the UK, who says that cycling design not only ignores women but other “outliers” too. Also on the show is Ben Watson, a para-cyclist with Team GB, who won gold at his race at the World Championships in Harrogate. Girona, cycling capital of the world. This podcast tells the cycling stories from inside Girona, the people that live and work there. In this second episode it's all about women. The reason behind is simple: go for a ride in Girona and you’ll notice that the ratio men/women is a bit different than anywhere else. Whilst normally 1 out of 20 cyclist you pass is a woman, in Girona it’s easily one out of ten. Or maybe even one out of five. Why? I have three guests that can answer that question. My name is Jerry Huinder and my guests are Louise Laker from Eat, Sleep, Cycle, Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio, pro-cyclist racing for CCC-LIV team and co-owner of Rocacorba cycling and Gracie Elvin, pro cyclist for Michelton-Scott and co-founder of The Cyclist Alliance, which represents the competitive, economic, and personal interests of all professional women cyclists.
