The suspected gunman who killed three people and wounded six others at a popular Orange County biker bar was identified Thursday morning as John Snowling, a retired police sergeant from the city of Ventura. Snowling, who worked for the agency for 28 years before retiring in 2014, was killed in a shootout with law enforcement. Gregory Rogers, 51, was developed as a suspect in the case after Bartlesville police responded to a call that shots had been fired about 8:30 p.m. at the Kickstand Saloon, 1810 S.W. Frank Phillips Blvd. There they found two bar employees who had been shot, Austin Standeford and Van Parson, and “several” witnesses, Bartlesville Police Chief Tracy Roles said. Police learned that an altercation had arisen at the bar, which bills itself as Oklahoma's destination for bikers from all walks of life, and that a singular shooter had fatally wounded the victims before fleeing.
