Business owners and entrepreneurs who mess up royally might take cold comfort in Al Lewis's Substack, BusinessBlunders.com, which regularly details the boneheaded choices and outright illegal antics of a rogues gallery of today's and yesteryear's CEOs and senior executives. For most readers, Al's independent newsletter is an opportunity to learn from other people's mistakes, which is, as he puts it, “is a lot less costly than learning from your own.” Among his recent posts is an article titled Lost In Love: Top CEOs who kissed away their jobs, featuring, among others, Kohl's CEO Ashley Buchanan, BP CEO Bernard Looney, and McDonald's CEO Steve Easterbrook. Al is a veteran journalist and editor, having served as business editor of the Houston Chronicle and The Denver Post, and Markets Editor at CNBC. You won't want to miss this episode. Doing so would be a business blunder of the first order. Monday Morning Radio is hosted by the father-son duo of Dean and Maxwell Rotbart. Tonight's episode brings us back to fantasy of the gothic kind. Blunder is a cursed kingdom, surrounded by a mist that snatches people into the wood, never to be seen again. All the families of the kingdom are named after trees, and the currency of power comes in the form of a deck of magical playing cards. These cards were made by a long dead king at the price of destroying himself to do it one piece at a time. Tonight we discuss ONE DARK WINDOW by Rachel Gillig. So, that's not morbid or anything. A dark and supernatural take requires a bourbon whiskey just as dark and mythical to pair with it. Tonight's bourbon is MOONLIGHT MAYHEM.
A series of plot twists resulted in a lost series in New York. Jackson Merrill hit the ground running in his return. Unfortunately the bullpen faltered the last two nights in New York. Derek and Darnay discuss the highs and lows against the Yankees. Fernando Tatis Jr.is slumping for the first time in 2025, and he's searching for answers. Dylan Cease went from no-hit bid to an injury exit. And Jake Cronenworth is on his way back.

As a PR expert, media critic, and outspoken tech industry commentator, Zitron pulls no punches discussing what he calls the "ROT economy" - where growth at all costs has replaced innovation and customer value. #172: Ever had a seemingly small decision spiral into years of unexpected consequences? That's exactly what happened with my under-eye filler journey that began a decade ago. What should have been a simple cosmetic enhancement has turned into a persistent medical saga involving multiple dissolving procedures, surgery, and ongoing complications. The lesson? Some fillers don't dissolve naturally as promised, and under-eye treatments deserve extra caution. But life carries on with its mix of mundane and meaningful moments. My Chihuahua recently needed dental surgery at age 11 (that's 60 in dog years, by the way – forget that "multiply by seven" rule we all learned). While under anesthesia, she provided some comic relief with her tongue hanging out while struggling to stay awake standing up. The procedure also revealed a mild heart murmur, adding another dimension to pet parenthood as she approaches her senior years.Meanwhile, severe weather patterns have me contemplating tornado shelters, and my beauty routine has evolved toward more natural approaches. Face taping has become my go-to alternative to injectables – using specialized Japanese tape designed specifically for delicate facial skin to prevent sleep wrinkles. Combined with a satin bonnet for hair protection, I might look "hella scary" at bedtime, but wake up looking better than ever. As one wise person noted, "It's not about what we look like going to bed, it's what we wake up looking like."This journey has highlighted the double standard in how society views aging – celebrating men who "age like fine wine" while expecting women to somehow stay youthful naturally while also pursuing every beauty enhancement available. Perhaps the real beauty breakthrough isn't found in procedures or products, but in finding comfort with our choices and our authentic selves. If you're navigating similar beauty dilemmas or pet parent adventures, you're not alone – share your experiences with me and join the conversation. You can now send us a text to ask a question or review the show. As the feds struggle to even obtain a grand jury indictment against hero State Court Judge Hannah Dugan for not trusting the Trump Administration and demanding a proper judge-issued arrest warrant before allowing the feds to arrest an undocumented defendant in her court room, and other judges threatening to close their courtrooms in solidarity, the Trump Administration won't rule out arresting other judges all he way up to the United States Supreme Court! Michael Popok takes a hard look at the depravity that infects the Trump Administration and its DOJ, and why voters say in poll after poll that they hate the Trump Administration and everything it has done in the first 100 days. Send us a textIn this crucial episode of "The Selling Podcast," Mike and Scott tackle three of the most pervasive and damaging mistakes that sales representatives consistently make, hindering their success and costing them deals. Understanding and rectifying these errors is fundamental to elevating your sales performance. We break down these critical pitfalls:Talking Too Much, Listening Too Little: We dissect the common tendency of sales reps to dominate the conversation with product features and company information, rather than focusing on the prospect. We emphasize the paramount importance of active listening and asking insightful questions to truly understand the customer's needs, challenges, and goals. We explore techniques for effective questioning and how to tailor your approach based on what you learn, rather than delivering a generic pitch.Focusing on Features, Not Value: We address the mistake of rattling off product specifications and functionalities without clearly articulating the tangible benefits and outcomes for the customer. We underscore that customers buy solutions to their problems and improvements to their lives or businesses. We delve into how to translate features into compelling value propositions that resonate with the prospect's specific needs and demonstrate a clear return on investment.Failing to Follow Up: We highlight the surprisingly high number of potential deals that collapse due to inconsistent or non-existent follow-up. We discuss the critical importance of timely and persistent follow-up, whether it's responding to inquiries, scheduling next steps, or nurturing leads. We explore strategies for effective follow-up that keeps momentum alive and signals genuine interest and professionalism. This episode provides actionable insights and practical advice to help sales professionals identify and eliminate these common mistakes, ultimately leading to increased conversions and greater success.Scott SchlofmanMike Williams - Cell 801-635-7773 #sales #podcast #customerfirst #relationships #success #pipeline #funnel #sales success #selling #salescoach

In this sweeping global analysis, Jack Russo and Robert Acker explore what the recent Signal messaging breach might reveal about America's declining trustworthiness as a global ally. Using maps, history, and geopolitics, they identify the South China Sea—not Ukraine or the Middle East—as the world's most critical hotspot. Professor Acker argues that control of this region, paired with Taiwan, could define future global dominance. Jack and Robert also debate the fading utility of NATO, the rise of China's infrastructure-driven influence, and the disintegration of U.S. alliances in Asia. From imperialist echoes in Greenland to India's growing economic clout, this episode delivers a bracing assessment of shifting power in the 21st century—and why the U.S. may already be losing the global game.
