Comfort reflects on decades of daily Scripture immersion, the richness of the Amplified Bible, and why understanding Jesus’ words in depth is essential for a resilient faith. Craig and Garv dive into some of history's most infamous blunders, zeroing in on military missteps that reshaped outcomes. They spotlight reckless decision-making by Roman commanders who consistently underestimated terrain, logistics, and enemy capabilities, illustrating how overconfidence and lack of reconnaissance can derail campaigns even when Rome's discipline and manpower were formidable. The discussion then shifts to the Russo-Japanese War, arguing that poor strategic planning, misread intel, and fragile supply lines plagued the Russian fleet from the outset. They trace the Pacific Fleet's arduous, ill-fated voyage to the Far East, emphasizing how vast distances, faulty communications, and flawed doctrine culminated in catastrophic defeats at sea. A key throughline is the critical importance of logistics: supply chains, transport, and timely resupply often determine whether victory or defeat arrives first. The hosts also examine the role of terrain, weather, and political pressure in shaping battlefield decisions, showing how external factors can magnify tactical errors. Throughout, the conversation remains accessible, balancing humor with analysis to underscore why seemingly simple choices—such as adequate reconnaissance, realistic logistics planning, and cautious risk assessment—are often the difference between win and loss. By weaving these cases together, the episode reveals enduring lessons about leadership, preparation, and the cost of underestimating complex operational challenges in military history.
In this the first comprehensive treatment of Pearl Harbor since the early 1990s, respected Pacific War naval historian Mark E. Stille traces the road to war and the Japanese attack itself. Stille challenges the conventional narrative that Japan's sneak attack was brilliantly planned and well executed.

On Friday's Mark Levin Show, WJNO's Brian Mudd fills in. Joe Biden continues to kill people even after he left office. The Biden administration allowed many unvetted illegal immigrants into our country, including the ones that have been committing crimes, rapes, murders and more. The loss of one of our D.C. National Guard soldiers and the critical state of another is the result of the failure of the Biden Administration to keep us and our troops safe. Another example was the withdraw from Afghanistan which was wrong and killed many of our heroes, and should have never happened. In addition, the Kremlin is out there saying Putin wants peace talks as meetings kick off in Saudi Arabia—but he keeps talking about “reality on the ground,” which is code for “we're not giving back what we took.” Nevertheless, we must trust in President Trump because he will make sure that this peace deal goes smoothly and that we make sure that there is peace once and for all. Lastly, Republicans in Congress are wrestling with what to do about these Obamacare subsidies that are about to expire. The final decision is going to come down to Trump. The Democrats—what do they do? They take this record-breaking government shutdown and turn it into a political stunt. They're demanding we keep these subsidies going, the same ones Biden pumped up during the pandemic. They're set to vanish by the end of the year. Here's the reality: Republicans know healthcare premiums are shooting through the roof therefore something has to be done. They don't want to just rubber-stamp Biden's plan and keep these subsidies exactly as they are. That's not reform—that's surrender. Learn more about your ad choices. The Philadelphia Union's 2025 season came to an end Sunday night, as they fell to NYCFC 1–0 thanks to Union slayer Maxi Moralez's goal. The main storyline from the match wasn't the goal itself, but the performance of former Union goalkeeper Matt Freese, who denied the Union on five separate scoring chances. Todd and José discuss the latest news, including Philadelphia Union Sporting Director Ernst Tanner being investigated by MLS after a report published by The Guardian detailed allegations of sexist, racist, and homophobic behavior from Tanner spanning seven years during his time at the club. They also share their thoughts on the match, with topics including: how much the Union's 22-day layoff affected their performance, whether Frankie Westfield and Mikael Uhre should have started over Nathan Harriel and Tai Baribo, and how Matt Freese and Maxi Moralez continue to haunt the Union. On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") and intern Riley Sager are back in studio recapping USC's 42-27 loss to Oregon, knocking the Trojans out of the College Football Playoff picture. Facing the No. 7 ranked Ducks, the No. 15 Trojans needed to play a clean game in Autzen Stadium and unfortunately it was anything but from Lincoln Riley and company. Major special teams blunders, including a leaping penalty on a punt and punt return for a touchdown, put points directly on the board for Oregon and that was simply too much for the Trojans to overcome. The crew breaks down the game, discussing what went right for the Men of Troy and what went wrong, and how the Ducks provided a real opportunity for an upset with some sloppy play of their own. Offensively USC put up 100 more passing yards than any of Oregon's opponents this season, but Jayden Maiava did have two costly interceptions and the run game was essentially non existent. Defensively USC played better in the second half but just couldn't get enough stops to slow down the Ducks potent offense. Special teams was an absolute disaster, starting with a kickoff out of bounds, a kick catch interference call, leaping that took away a USC stop and led to a Ducks touchdown, giving up a punt return for a touchdown and then a missed short field goal. At a minimum that cost USC 17 points in a game it lost by 15. Despite the loss, the potential for 10 wins is still a major improvement over last season, but being unable to pull off a win in any of the three toughest road games is a tough pill to swallow for the Trojans. Join Jim and Greg for the Wednesday 3 Martini Lunch as they applaud ICE for rescuing 30,000 migrant children that the Biden administration lost track of, Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett absurdly accusing several Republicans of ties to Jeffrey Epstein, and lefties in Maryland pushing a $25 minimum wage that would make the cost of living even worseFirst, they welcome Border Czar Tom Homan's revelation that the Trump administration has located 30,000 of the 300,000 migrant kids the Biden administration lost and never tried to find. Jim also highlights a Pulitzer Prize-winning 2023 investigation showing migrant children being forced into labor for major U.S. companies. Why is there so little political or media outrage?Next, they laugh and fume as Rep. Crockett accuses GOP lawmakers of taking donations from Jeffrey Epstein, only for it to be exposed that none of the contributions came from that Jeffrey Epstein. If Crockett runs for U.S. Senate in Texas and wins the nomination, it will be one of the greatest gifts the GOP ever received. Finally, activists in Maryland want a statewide referendum in 2026 to impose a $25 minimum wage through a constitutional amendment. Jim and Greg explain why the policy would worsen the cost of living and argue that if a higher minimum wage were truly the path to affordability, why not raise it much higher? Please visit our great sponsors:Cancel unwanted subscriptions and reach your financial goals faster with Rocket Money at https://RocketMoney.com/MARTINI Give your liver the support it deserves with Dose Daily.
