Greetings, noble Cabalists! This day, the Lords do commence their grand convocation by heeding a missive from a most inquisitive listener, who doth inquire how they divine their next realm of adventure, be it by the singular vision of a lone Game Master, or by the council and clamor of the whole round table. Thereafter, the fellowship embarks upon a most profound discourse concerning the art of embodying one's hero, weaving a soul and spirit into the character, and bringing them to life through word and deed. Hark, and be entertained!

What's up, dudes? In 1989, Milton Bradley released a fun Christmas themed board game. I've got Little #3 with me to talk all about it! Yes, it's Santa's Special Delivery, and we played a couple of games. The goal of the game is to be the first player to distribute their inventory of gifts and return to their home space. Each player chooses four gift tokens and a sleigh pawn, which is placed on the designated home space of the corresponding color. At the beginning of their turn, a player spins the spinner which is illustrated with six colors and a cheerful portrait of Santa. Subsequently, the player moves their pawn along the path to the color indicated by the spinner. There are four types of stops along the board. Landing on a blank space ends the player's turn. If a player lands on a gift box space, he/she drops off a gift at the nearest house. A star space means that the player could give a gift token to an opponent who still had gift boxes of their own to deliver. Finally, an arrow space offers a shortcut that moves players to a gift box space where they can drop off a present to the nearest house.Once a player had delivered all their gifts, they move to the star space closest to home. From the star space, opponents race to be the first player to spin their home color to win the game.Spinner? Yep. Santa's sleigh? Got it. Hours of fun? Definitely! So grab some Tato Skins, open an Ecto Cooler, and play a round of Santa's Special Delivery to this episode!Give us a buzz! Send a text, dudes!Check us out on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Totally Rad Christmas Mall & Arcade, Teepublic.com, or TotallyRadChristmas.com! Later, dudes!

Part 3 of 3 of our making friends series dives into the importance of perspective in relationships. Understanding others, social problem solving, awareness and empathy, recognizing social expectations, and understanding intent are key topics discussed to close out our series. For our kids (and yes, for adults) it is important to learn to see a topic through another lens. What do you see? What do our friends see? What do you think? What do you think our friends think? What did you hear? What did our friends here? There is so much here and we only begin to introduce this concept in our cup of coffee session. The idea that maybe one of our friends is convinced the sky is red. Maybe that is simply all the information they have to think that. Does that change if they have your perspective? Does your belief change if you have theirs? Is a candle shaped like an apple a candle, or is it an apple? Depends on what information you have to decide? Sometimes our beliefs are emotion based. It rarely works when we tell someone how to feel. How do we rationalize our beliefs? We discuss think vs know vs believe and introduce the concept of tactical deception. Book recommendations include Good News Bad News by Jeff Mack and Freddie the Fly by Kimberly Delude. Board Game recommendation Apples to Apples Jr. Send us a textfinding-moments.com or Etsy Shop

The Cabal is back in action, and we dive into a conversation about Chris' adventures at Anthrocon! One day, we'll get him to dress up as the red panda. After that, we get into some of the games we've been playing, including Cities, Vantage, City of Horror, Creature Caravan, Monsters Menace the World, and a feature review of Lord of the Rings: Fate of the Fellowship from Matt Leacock. Then, after Tony T gives us all the most important news from the board gaming world, we answer a series of listener questions covering gimmicks and innovations, design trends that annoy us, and our least favorite gamer traits. Cities: 00:09:53, Vantage: 00:22:26, City of Horror: 00:34:21, Creature Caravan: 00:44:30, Monsters Menace the World: 00:51:19, The Lord of the Rings: Fate of the Fellowship: 00:58:56, News with Tony T: 01:35:01, Short Topic Extravaganza: 02:22:50. You'll need to listen to the full episode for more details, but there's a giveaway for a new copy of Power Vacuum. I purchased two copies because I'm a weirdo (the particulars of that weirdness are also explained in the episode). This particular prize is for the continental US, but send me an email responding to the questions posed in the episode if you're anywhere else in the world, and you'll technically be in the running for a prize (tbd). The contest ends after August 31st.Email me at vodthepod@gmail.comThe episode details a lot of my thoughts more than I am here, but I'm very excited for this show to start turning the pages of a new chapter.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If you like this show, liking it on whatever platform you listen to and writing a review would mean so much! Furthermore, it's as independent as it gets, so any financial support would help with the subscriptions that make this project go smoothly. That can be done by "buying me a coffee" and/or buying a copy of my board game (I like it).All of my socials and support information can be found here: Intertextual Experience Linktree

Seeing a paper belly band, instead of plastic shrink wrap, around the decks of cards in Isle of Night from Red Raven Games made me realise that now might be the time to write again about sustainability and eco-friendliness in the board game hobby. Thinking back over the last few months, it feels as if publishers and players alike have started thinking more about making games greener. So in this article, I am looking at where the industry stands today.Read the full topic discussion article here: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2025/08/05/shelf-to-soil-how-board-games-are-getting-greener-topic-discussion/Useful LinksIsle of Night review: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2025/07/19/isle-of-night-saturday-review/Red Raven Games: https://www.redravengames.com/Stonemaier Games: https://stonemaiergames.com/Are Our Games Eco-Friendly? Another San Diego Comic Con has come and gone, but have no fear! This is just the first of multiple episodes we'll be dropping over the next couple weeks to keep that sweet sweet SDCC dopamine rush coming! We sit down with Robert Kirkman and David Finch to discuss Skinbreaker, their upcoming series from Image and Skybound. In this roundtable we are joined by Hector Navarro (Heroes Reforged) and Jace Milam (The Comic Source), as well as a couple more outlets which I regrettably did not get information from to include them in this section. With that being said, we hope you enjoy this roundtable discussion with Robert Kirkman and Davis Finch! Special thanks to our friend Stephen who did an amazing job leveling the audio from this interview. Roundtables can make for some rough audio, but Stephen made this recording sound SO much better than the original. You can get your graphic, audio, video (and more) needs met by reaching out to Stephen on his website, peppermintgentleman.com You have a super-power, too! You can write a REVIEW!
