Son but ? Hey Strangers, #spiderman #spiderman2 #pcgaming The newly released PC port of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 hasn't enjoyed the smoothest of launches, thanks to bugs and performance problems. And now it seems that one aspect of the conversion that is making things worse is the use of DirectStorage, with the system sucking up all-important GPU resources. Spider-Man 2 was ported by Nixxes Software, which has a pretty stellar track record for converting Sony's best-sellers. Well, up until now, that is. The Dutch software company portfolio of…err…ports is second to none: Marvel's Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales; Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart; Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered and Horizon Forbidden West. Oh, and the entire rebooted Tomb Raider trilogy. ======================================= My other podcast https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKpvBEElSl1dD72Y5gtepkw ************************************************** Something Strange https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRjVc2TZqN4&t=4s ************************************************** article links: https://www.pcgamer.com/hardware/graphics-cards/spider-man-2s-pc-launch-woes-are-woe-ier-than-you-think-as-it-looks-like-gpu-powered-directstorage-is-hobbling-performance/ https://www.neogaf.com/threads/new-pc-mod-tries-to-fix-mj-ugly-face-from-spider-man-2.1680328/ https://swtorstrategies.com/2024/10/swinging-through-new-dimensions-marvels-spider-man-remastered-spider-girl-2099-nsfw-mod.html https://www.reddit.com/r/SpidermanPS4/comments/10mwbk4/new_curvier_mj_mod_link_in_comments/ ====================================== Today is for push-ups and Programming and I am all done doing push-ups Discord https://discord.gg/MYvNgYYFxq TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@strangestcoder Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe9xwdRW2D7RYwlp6pRGOvQ?sub_confirmation=1 Twitch https://www.twitch.tv/CodingWithStrangers Twitter https://twitter.com/strangestcoder merch Support CodingWithStrangers IRL by purchasing some merch. Well they are back and many are unhappyFrom Sportskeeda.comA few have passed since Amouranth and Indiefoxx's latest Twitch ban, and the suspension has been officially lifted. While it's good news for the creators themselves, the community isn't too pleased with how many times Twitch turns a blind eye to their activities. Amouranth alone has been banned over 5 times on the platform, yet her account is safe, while others get permanently banned on the first offense. Many users have expressed their frustrations at Twitch's system and have been calling for a reevaluation of their measures.Banned for seventy-two hours for exploiting the ASMR category with sexually suggestive material, Amouranth and Indiefoxx have served out their sentences and are ready to return to the platform. But after 5 bans it begs the question, why does Twitch have hope for streamers who have violated the Terms of Service multiple times?Members of the Twitch community themselves have come out and spoken about the dangerous precedent Twitch's blind eye sets and how this could eventually harm the very fabric of the platform. With the growing pressure from the community, Twitch may deal with suspensions in this vein differently in the future.Coach - Where do you fall on this subject as a female streamer and as a parent?Twitch Banned in An Entire Country Because of One StreamerIt's hard to go a week without hearing about another Twitch streamer being banned for some seemingly mundane reason. Thanks to unclear rules and inconsistent enforcement, the streaming platform has become infamous for these bans. This time, though, the entire site is the one that's banned, with the users in Slovakia completely unable to access it.Strangely, this site-wide ban is all due to one streamer, as he was found illegally playing online poker while on stream. There's a great bit of humor to be found in the situation, but it is also a serious issue for those Slovakians that can no longer access the site to watch their favorite streamersThe streamer in question is dDandis, a Twitch partner with around 35,000 followers. He hasn't been banned from the Twitch platform yet, but his actions did somehow result in the entirety of Slovakia being banned from the site indirectly. At the time of writing, the only internet service provider to have followed through with this so far is O2.It seems that the block was supposed to apply only to dDandis' account, but instead went out to the entire site. It's unclear whether or not other ISPs will follow suit by banning the entire site or instead limit it to just dDandis. Supposedly, the ban went into affect because of dDandis' online Poker streams, which are in violation of the Slovakian laws about promotion of gambling.Symph - The hits keep coming for Twitch. It seems like they are getting more erratic with their bannings and making mistakes while allowing things like our last story to fester. What do you think needs to happen at Twitch to make positive change?Ludwig defends Twitch gambling sponsorships after Clint Stevens' criticismStreaming star Ludwig ‘Ludwig' Ahrgen jumped to the defense of Twitch streamers who take up gambling sponsorships after speedrunner Clint Stevens argued against them.Gambling streams have existed on Twitch pretty much since the very start. There are plenty of content creators who sit and play slots, poker, or blackjack all day, with viewers tuned in to see them win huge payouts. After speedrun star Clint Stevens said that streamers could simply choose not to accept gambling sponsorships, Ludwig jumped to the defense of streamers who accept them.“Does he not f**king get that people's careers on Twitch last literally years and then it goes away? Like a few f**king years,” Ludwig said, referring to streamers securing the bag as they grow more and more popular.Clint also criticized other products that regularly appear as Twitch sponsors, and Ludwig defended them as well, noting he doesn't take “stupid sponsorships” himself in the same way that others might.Even though gambling streams might be a hot topic, they are likely to stick around. Twitch has dedicated sections for casino games and beyond.Foxx- What is your take on this? Should Twitch crack down on something like gambling with stories like our last and other shady business we have seen them used for ?Tech/Gaming News - Brought to you by FoxxDenMarvel's Avengers has a weird bug on PS5 that puts your IP address on displayMarvel's Avengers got a big new patch on Tuesday, but alongside a number of updates, it has added a pretty bad bug on PS5. The game will now show a string of floating text on-screen while you're playing — and notably, that string includes your IP address, according to Forbes. That means if you want to stream or show any sort of gameplay on Marvel's Avengers' current patch, somebody could use your IP address to learn a lot about you, such as a general idea of your location. The developers have acknowledged the bug via the game's Twitter account, and in tweets posted after we first published this story, specified that this bug is affecting PS5 players and shared when you expect to see a fix.“We are currently testing a solution to the issue of personal information, including the player's IP address and username, being displayed on screen on PS5 and plan to deploy a hotfix tomorrow at around 8AM PT,” the developers said. “PlayStation 5 players should refrain from streaming or posting screenshots online until then as sensitive information may be displayed,” they continued.Publisher Square Enix didn't immediately reply to a request for comment.Coach - This has been fixed now but in a world where privacy is so important how do you think something like this got past them? Should they be accountable for damages that comes from this or other companies that do the same?Hedge Fund That Took Massive Losses on GameStop Thanks to WallStreetBets Is Shutting DownIn our first story from gizmodo,One of the hedge funds targeted by notorious Reddit investment board r/WallStreetBets is bust, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday.According to the FT, London-based White Square Capital took big hits during this period. A letter to investors obtained by the paper, as well as sources familiar with the fund's operations, indicated it will soon shut down its main fund and return capital after it has completed an investigation of its business model. However, one person “close to the fund” told the FT that r/WallStreetBets and meme stocks weren't the ultimate cause of the fund's doomsday, as White Square made back “a fair share” of its January 2021 losses on GameStop which hit a double-digit percentage.Florian Kronawitter, a former Paulson & Co trader and White Square's chief, described the pending shutdown as related to a glut of greedy money in the long-short equity market. Shorting is a high-risk trading strategy where an investor (often a hedge fund) makes a bet that a company's stock price will tank by borrowing assets and selling them with an agreement to buy them back at the market rate in the future. It was broadly despised by r/WallStreetBets, which viewed it as yet another destructive Wall Street practice that kills healthy companies and leeches profits off the overall diminishment of the economy.Symphonic - Do you think they are being truthful saying it wasn't wallstreetbets that caused them to shut down?GAMING Microsoft Reveals Windows 11's Impressive Gaming FeaturesOur second story from comicbook.comOne of the biggest appeals for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service is the fact that subscribers can also enjoy a large number of games on PC. With that in mind, Microsoft has revealed that Windows 11 will be "the best Windows ever for gaming." In a new blog post on Xbox Wire, Microsoft revealed some of the gamer friendly features that players can expect to see from the newest version of Windows. These improvements include superior graphics and faster overall speeds. Combined with the Xbox Game Pass library, Windows 11 should prove to be very enticing for PC gamers.Improved graphics are always a plus, but it's not nearly as exciting if it makes the game run slowly. Thankfully, Windows 11 will implement DirectStorage, another feature utilized on Xbox Series X. This feature allows games to "load assets to the graphics card without bogging down the CPU." Essentially, this means that games will feature impressive graphics, but players won't have to worry about drawn out load times, as a result.Windows 11 will also feature compatibility with a number of Microsoft products, including Wireless Controllers, gaming mice, headsets, and other peripherals. It's a bit early to tell, but from the way things sound, Windows 11 should provide an excellent gaming experience.Foxx - Explain to us more tech illiterate what this means for us and the future of gamingFootNotes-  Other Notable News Marvel has teamed up with VEVE Collectibles to release its first official NFT collectibles. With the NFT craze having died down this is a great sign for the digital collectables company as many great brands like DC and now Marvel have now signed on with them. The new theatrical version of Frank Herberts classic DUNE has been delayed. Originally slated for October first of this year it has been officially pushed back to the 22nd and is part of a large shuffle of releases by Warner Bros. Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum are working on a Smallville animated Sequel. The two will not only revise their role in voice but are working to get as many of the original cast to join the effort as well. The sequel will of course be one of many DC HBO Max exclusives Speaking of Superman, this september you will be able to buy the Snyder Cut of Justice league on 4k Ultra HD and Blu-ray. The show will center around Dean and Sam Winchester's parents, and Ackles will return to reprise his Dean Winchester character as a narrator of the new show.I thought it was a little odd that Supernatural's Jared Padalecki wasn't mentioned. I thought for sure he'd be involved, after all, he and Ackles had a close working relationship over the course of 15 seasons. Well, it turns out that Ackles didn't even tell Padalecki about the project.Padalecki took to Twitter to reveal that he's had “no involvement whatsoever” in the show and yesterday's announcement was the first he heard about it. He also says he was “bummed out” and “gutted” that he's not involved. He wrote, “Dude. Happy for you. Wish I heard about this some way other than Twitter. I'm excited to watch, but bummed that Sam Winchester had no involvement whatsoever.” When asked by a fan if his tweet was a joke, Padalecki replied, “No. It's not. This is the first I've heard about it. I'm gutted.”After some Twitter Drama Padalecki says he talked to Ackles and says that things are good between him and Ackles. He shared on Twitter: “@JensenAckles and I had a great talk, as we do often, and things are good. The show is early in the process with miles to go. We've travelled a lot of roads together, and sometimes those damn roads have bumps. Bumps don't stop us. Once brothers, always brothers.”Coach - Do you think the “early in the process” line was an excuse or the truth? Also are you excited for the prequel?https://heroichollywood.com/ewan-mcgregor-obi-wan-kenobi-another-villain/Back in December, it was revealed by Kathleen Kennedy that Obi-Wan Kenobi would reunite Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader in “the rematch of the century.” However, that apparently won't be the only villain Obi-Wan will battle in the series as Making Star Wars reports he will also “fight at least one inquisitor.”The Inquisitors were first introduced to the Star Wars canon as Jedi hunters in Rebels and have gone onto appear in everything from the comics to Jedi: Fallen Order. After the Obi-Wan Kenobi cast was officially announced, Moses Ingram teased on social media her character will wield a lightsaber in the series, so perhaps she's playing one of the Inquisitors? Making Star Wars also hinted that Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi will leave the twin suns of Tatooine. The Obi-Wan Kenobi series has been described as a special event series for Disney Plus, and details on the upcoming Star Wars series are being hidden away on Tatooine. Still, we do know the series will feature a rematch between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith and before their final confrontation in A New Hope.Symphonic - Leaks like this always get out but do you think this series would benefit from more being known or less?Chris McKay Teases Batman's Role In Planned 'Nightwing' FilmWith director Chris McKay doing press for The Tomorrow War, we are starting to hear new details about the Nightwing film announced back in 2017. The director has already shared an update that he hasn't been told the film has been canceled, so there's still hope. While speaking with ComicBook.com, McKay opened up about the themes of his Nightwing film:“It becomes a revenge movie and it'd be an introduction to Nightwing and the world of Blüdhaven. There was going to be a lot of villains. It was going to be  real, it was going to be a character study about this guy who grew up with sort of a bad dad. How that made him as a young adult try to fight off and go as far away from that world as humanly possible and get dragged back into it.”Of course, a major question that gets brought up with a Nightwing film is what Batman's role would be, and a lot has changed since 2017 with the character on the big screen. Chris McKay went on to say that things were still being worked out when he was developing it, but hinted that Batman wasn't going to play a major role in the planned film“There was still some stuff that needed to be determined of what that was going to look like. It was like you were picking up a Nightwing comic. You're not guaranteed Batman was going to show up, but he could show up and other people could show up, but again you're dealing with Nightwing and that's what I like about it. I like the idea that we don't necessarily connect to certain things, we can just have it be a story that takes place in Blüdhaven or with Dick Grayson and his world. How he became Nightwing and why be became Nightwing there was a lot of stuff I liked about the approach.”Foxx - There is a lot to unpack here. First off I would be stoked if they still make this movie. Secondly, does a movie like this need the Bat or do you think the inner monologue of a brooding Dick Grayson be enough Batman for the movie?BOLD PREDICTIONSFoxx Make some Bold Predictions~Plug your stuff.~Zazzaboo plug the site, Pod etc~Don't forget to check out the patreon. Thanks and we will see you next week!★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★
