Two high-profile Saudi investors are separately eyeing investments and acquisitions in Egypt that could together be worth north of half a billion USD,1.Al Lami Holding Group is aiming to invest some USD500 million in Egypt over the next two years in tourism and real estate.2.Batterjee Holding Group is eyeing a potential acquisition of an EGX-listed pharma company.The government's new building reconciliation bill earned the House's seal of approval. The law aims to make it easier for owners of unauthorized buildings built by 15 October of this year to legalize their properties in return for paying a reconciliation fee.The House approved a 30-year loan worth JPY100 billion from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to fund the initial stage of Cairo's Metro Line 4. The debt will come at a 0.1% interest rate and offers a grace period of 10 years.CBE intends to provide a license to fintech companies to enable them to link their cards issued to customers with InstaPay, during the next year.CIRA (FV: EGP18.24, OW) FY22/23 attributable net profit dropped significantly by 66.4% YoY to record EGP125 million.-We downgrade our FV for CIRA from a previous EGP21.5/share to a current EGP18.24/share, while maintaining our Overweight recommendation as the new FV implies a 43.4% valuation gap.-CIRA is currently trading at a FY23/24 P/E of 21.6x.CIRA is targeting to finalize a new securitization before the end of the year. The proceeds will be used to deleverage the company.  We upgraded our FV for ECAP to EGP35.56/share with an Overweight recommendation. The updated FV factors in updating our macro assumptions (exchange rate, inflation, and interest rates) and revisiting ASP and volumes. ECAP is currently trading at 2024f P/E of 4.9x.

Egypt intends to pay USD240 million to the IMF next September, to pay off a tranche of the USD5 billion credit agreement it concluded in 2020.Egypt was among the six countries invited to join the Brics starting January 2024, along with Saudi Arabia, UAE, Argentina, Iran, and Ethiopia. Ahmed Abdelrahman El Sheikh has been named Head of EGX for a one-year term starting 26 August.The Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) has completed procedures to establish the first Egyptian Securities Federation.State grains buyer GASC reportedly made no purchase after direct talks to buy wheat with international trading houses on Friday. Hossam Haiba, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, revealed that the government had received requests from Chinese investors to inject investments into the local market in yuan.Indian “Hinduja” is seeking to invest USD500 million in the manufacture of electric buses in Egypt.US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell hinted that the Fed could be forced to continue its aggressive monetary tightening cycle, citing persistent inflation as the US economy continues to register strong growth.Turkey's central bank opted for an unexpectedly large interest rate hike on Thursday, lifting its benchmark rates by 750 bps to 25%.SWDY posted its 2Q23 consolidated financial results with net attributable income standing at EGP2.7 billion in 2Q23 (+136% YoY, -8% QoQ), bringing 1H23 earnings to EGP5.6 billion (+195% YoY). Bottom-line annual growth was accelerated by higher revenue growth and profitability across all business segments, coupled with higher FX gains that partially offset rising financing costs and SG&A expenses. Consolidated revenues surged to EGP36.3 billion (+78% YoY, +9% QoQ), bringing 1H23 revenues to EGP69.6 billion (+79% YoY). Medlog, the cargo subsidiary of Italy's MSC, has inked a contract with the government to design, construct, operate, maintain, and finance the new Tenth of Ramadan dry port and logistics center under a 30-year PPP contract with investments estimated at USD100 million. A consortium led by MSC was chosen in June including SWDY and ORAS, to establish and operate the 250-feddan dry port.SKPC will finalize the acquisition of Ethydco by the end of October, according to local press.Chevron's proposal to develop the Aphrodite gas field has been rejected by Cyprus, leaving both parties 30 days to reach a new agreement. Egypt is supposed to liquefy that gas to be exported to Europe. Neptune Energy has started exploratory drilling at the Yakoot well in its North West El Amal offshore concession in the Gulf of Suez.ECAP's BoD approved to open a branch for the company in Saudi Arabia. The prices of hotels are expected to rise by at least 35% y/y in 2023, with a 30% increase forecast for 2024, according to tourism sources. 

S&P expects core inflation in Egypt to reach its peak at 39% in October 2023 before retreating to 35% by the end of the year. It also expects the depreciation of the Egyptian pound to EGP37 by the end of 2023. The Russian steel giant Novostal-M Holding seeks to expand its presence in Egypt by establishing a new factory and undertaking various projects.  The government plans to offer two river docks in the logistics zone in Alexandria for sale to the private sector next December. The Ministry of Health and Population revealed a package of preventive measures to protect against infection with the new mutant of the Coronavirus, Eris. ECAP released 2Q23 financial results, with net profit recording EGP60.4 million (+65.1% YoY, +6.1% QoQ) on the back of lower FX losses. Revenues came in at EGP594.5 million in 2Q23 (+37.9% YoY, -2.7% QoQ). ECAP is currently trading at 2023f P/E of 5.9x and EV/EBITDA of 3.2x. ATQA released 2Q23 earnings of EGP281.9 million, up from only EGP18.8 million in 2Q22, bringing 1H23 earnings to EGP410.7 million (+373% YoY). Revenues surged 12% YoY to EGP523.2 million in 2Q23, bringing 1H23 revenues to EGP922.7 million (-31%). ELEC reported 1H23 consolidated earnings of EGP539.2 million, up from EGP190.5 million in 1H22 (+183%). Revenues surged 54% YoY to EGP3.6 billion in 1H23. MCRO reported 2Q23 financial results showing net profit of EGP19.9 million in 2Q23 (-51.1% YoY, +110.8% QoQ). Revenues recorded EGP182 million in 2Q23 (+6.9% YoY, +17.3% QoQ), driven solely by price increase, capped by decline in volumes. Gross profit came in at EGP128 million in 2Q23 (-2.4% YoY, +13.1% QoQ), implying a GPM of 70.3% (-6.7pps YoY, -2.6pps QoQ). Margin contraction was impacted by lower volumes as well as inflationary and currency pressures.  RAYA reported 1H23 financial results showing a net profit of EGP350.4 million, compared to EGP170.1 million (+106% YoY). Net profit performance came on the back of revenue growth (mainly from Raya distribution and Raya Information Technology(, margin expansion, lower  G&A expenses to sales, and currency depreciation for export-oriented business arms (RACC and Raya Foods). The Land and Dry Ports Authority to collect an amount of USD600k, next January, representing the usufruct right for the first year of operating the 6th of October Dry Port from SWDY (FV: EGP22.87, OW) - DB Schenker consortium, according to local media.  According to local media, ACAMD intends to reoffer its 24.8k sqm Tanta land plot for sale after the withdrawal of the Egyptian Company for Housing and Development - RAMW which had submitted an offer in August 2022.

Some stocks are still extremely cheap and trading below 3x P/E multiple for 2023 including EMFD, POUL, BINV, CANA, EGAL, LCSW. Some companies will be paying lucrative dividends out of 2023 net profit, that is 10-25% including EGAL, POUL, SAUD, ATLC, BINV, MBSC, ARCC, ABUK, ETRS, EAST, ALCN, MCQE, AMOC, and CIEB. The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) will be marketing local investment opportunities in South Korea, Germany, the UK, Vietnam, Singapore, and Brazil before the end of the year.The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) revealed that negotiations are underway for 18 new projects with an expected investment cost of USD 8.3 billion.The government is in talks with 22 countries — including India, Brazil, and other South American nations — to sign wheat import agreements.Egypt's total outstanding dues to international oil companies more than tripled since mid-2020 to USD3 billion in April 2023.Egypt's Petroleum exports declined by 40.3% during 1Q23 due to a 55.7% decline in crude oil exports as well as a 37.8% decline in LNG exports, mostly impacted by the decline in global prices. The World Bank estimated that the informal sector in Egypt represented 62.5% of the economy.Imports worth USD 32 bn received customs clearance over the past five months (Maait).Saudi Arabia and Russia deepened oil cuts on Monday. The company is also investing USD80.0 million to modernize its hotels in Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada.  

Ministry of Finance proposed a new set of taxes and fees on luxury products and services, with the intention to raise tax revenues for the next fiscal year. Tax changes that would reduce income tax for lower earners and raise tax for those on higher incomes received approval from the House Planning and Budget Committee on Thursday. Those would raise the personal income tax exemption threshold to EGP 36k from EGP 24k while introducing a new 27.5% higher rate of tax for people earning more than EGP 1 mn a year. House of Representatives will discuss amending some provisions of Law No. 182 of 2020 by canceling the tax exemption imposed on the returns of treasury bills and bonds or capital gains resulting from dealing in these financial instruments.The Finance Ministry expects to go ahead with its maiden USD 500 mn CNY-denominated bond issuance in 4Q 2023.The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) has signed agreements with a number of Chinese companies that could see more than USD 700 mn invested in projects within the Chinese-developed TEDA industrial zone in Ain Sokhna. The African Development Bank (AfDB) is lending EUR 110 mn for the third phase of the Gabal El Asfar water treatment plant, International Cooperation Minister said.The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) handed over two golden licenses to Beko Egypt for Home Appliances and Bosch Egypt for Home Appliances, bringing the total number of companies that obtained the golden license to 15 companies. MTIE is a key beneficiary through its retail outlets. Head of the Suez Canal Authority expected the increase in drought in the Panama Canal would have a significant positive impact on the activity of the Suez Canal, in the near future.GASC has negotiated more flexible payment plans with wheat suppliers, amid the FX crunch. The Auto segment recorded net losses of EGP80.5 mn. FX losses absorbed the biggest chunk of profitability by recording EGP264 mn. The financing business bottom line recorded EGP189 mn. Excluding the capital gain of 4Q22, net profit was down 12.1% QoQ. AUTO is currently trading at a FY23 P/E of 5.2x and an EV/EBITDA of 1.9x. A number of imported raw materials used in the pharma industry will be temporarily exempted from VAT under a decision issued by the Customs Authority on Thursday.A consortium of banks is currently negotiating with Ethydco to increase the US dollar-denominated loan interest. Meanwhile, the company is still in the process of negotiating with banks to reschedule its debts for four years.ORAS-Hassan Allam Consortium has started working on the third ring road in Libya, at an investment cost of USD1 billion. We upgraded ECAP FV to EGP18.75/share, with Overweight recommendation, factoring in FX rates, higher ASP, Expected recovery in volumes starting 2025, Better than previously expected margins, and higher net debt. Regular listeners to this podcast, or readers of our website, know that we cover a lot of stories about sexual abuse. We take no pleasure in these stories, but we believe they are important.  To explain why, I would use a simple analogy.  I would ask you to imagine that you have a headache.  If you think this headache is caused by sinus pressure, or perhaps too much coffee, you will take a couple of aspirin and go about your business. But what if that headache is the symptom of a brain tumor, and those headaches are a warning from your body to do something? That's why we cover sexual abuse stories:  We believe that just as headaches can be a warning that something in our physical bodies is amiss, the stories we do at MinistryWatch – especially their frequency and severity – should be a warning to us that something in the Body of Christ is amiss, and we need to do more than take a couple of aspirin and get on with our lives. But we need more than a good diagnosis.  We need a cure.  That's why I'm delighted to have Jeff Dalrymple on the program. Egypt, the UAE, Jordan, and Bahrain signed agreements to establish nine joint industrial projects at an investment cost of USD 2 bn. AUTO consolidated attributable net income in 4Q22 amounted to EGP8,714 mn compared to EGP413 mn in 4Q2. FY22 bottom-line recorded EGP9,985 mn compared to EGP1,408 mn recorded in FY21. The sharp incline was backed by the MNT-Halan divestment (EGP8.2 billion). We have upgraded our FV for AUTO earlier to EGP7.56/share with GB Capital 78.8% of our FV. AUTO is currently trading at a 2023 P/E of 2.4x and an EV/EBITDA of 3.7x.MCQE reported 4Q22 attributable net earnings recording EGP33 million (-15% YoY, +3.5-folds QoQ), bringing FY22 attributable earnings to EGP96 million (-34% YoY). Neurostimulation is emerging as treatment for several diseases of the brain and peripheral organs. Due to variability arising from placement of stimulation devices, underlying neuroanatomy and physiological responses to stimulation, it is essential that neurostimulation protocols are personalized to maximize efficacy and safety. Building such personalized protocols would benefit from accumulated information in increasingly large datasets of other individuals' responses. Approach. To address that need, we propose a meta-learning family of algorithms to conduct few-shot optimization of key fitting parameters of physiological responses in new individuals. While our method is agnostic to neurostimulation modality, here we demonstrate its effectiveness on the problem of physiological modeling of fiber recruitment during vagus nerve stimulation (VNS). Using data from acute VNS experiments, the mapping between amplitudes of stimulus-evoked compound action potentials (eCAPs) and physiological responses, such as heart rate and breathing interval modulation, is inferred. Main results. Using additional synthetic data sets to complement experimental results, we demonstrate that our meta-learning framework is capable of directly modeling the physiology-eCAP relationship for individual subjects with much fewer individually queried data points than standard methods. Significance. Our meta-learning framework is general and can be adapted to any input-response neurostimulation mapping problem. Moreover, this method leverages information from growing data sets of past patients, as a treatment is deployed.  The government has decided to raise the gas cost for the industrial sector (Steel, Ceramics, Cement, Fertilizers, and Petrochemicals) to USD5.75/MMBtu, except for companies whose cost is calculated based on a formula tied to selling prices. - While the gaps between new FVs and current market prices are not wide, because stocks had initially failed to reflect the profitability spike, the market will definitely not take the news well and stocks will face pressure at the opening. - At current known factors, you are safe with EKHO, MFPC, ECAP, and most cement producers, but more vulnerable with ESRS, ABUK, LCSW, and SVCE. -The only scenario that would save the upside potential for the industrial sector, in general, is that the government would utilize a formula-based gas cost, even if applied with a time lag. Technically, the Fuel Pricing Committee should look into gas costs every quarter. Accordingly, this is not a far-fetched scenario.

This event redirected his life. In 1989 Peace, Love & Healing and in 1993 How To Live Between Office Visits followed. He is currently working on other books with the goal of humanizing medical education and medical care, as well as, empowering patients and teaching survival behavior to enhance immune system competency. Bernie’s realization that we all need help dealing with the difficulties of life, not just the physical ones, led to Bernie writing his fourth book in 1998 Prescriptions for Living. It helps people to become aware of the eternal truths and wisdom of the sages through Bernie’s stories and insights rather than wait a personal disaster. He wants to help people fix their lives before they are broken, and thus not have to become strong at the broken places. Published in 2008 Buddy’s Candle, for children of all ages, related to dealing with the loss of a loved one, be it a pet or parent, and published in 2009 Faith, Hope & Healing with inspiring survivor stories and my reflections about what they teach us. Also out is Words Swords, my poetry and chance to write and react with your own. In the Fall of 2011 A Book of Miracles was published with amazing stories and my comments. While studying abroad in Japan, 16-year-old Luna Abadia saw the effects of climate change first-hand. Typhoons were getting stronger, snow becoming rarer, and traditional crops were no longer able to grow. This inspired Luna to act. She entered a speech competition and wrote about the importance of combating climate change. Her speech got a lot of attention and Luna became a national finalist. Realizing the power her voice could have, when Luna returned home to Oregon, she founded the Effective Climate Action Project (https://www.effectiveclimateaction.org/) or ECAP for short - a youth-led organization working to increase awareness of effective solutions to climate change.

Héloïse est ingénieure à la ville et énergéticienne à la campagne.  Une association de carrière pas forcément courante ni facile à assumer.  C’est le point de départ de notre conversation : ce qui a mené cette ingénieure en informatique à se passionner pour les thérapies non-conventionnelles.  C’est ainsi qu’elle nous raconte son parcours passionnant, qui l’a menée d’informaticienne à Nantes à énergéticienne à Villeneuve. A la suite d’un divorce, elle entame une psychothérapie et commence alors tout un cheminement de développement personnel. Cela la mène à questionner de plus en plus son métier d’ingénieur et le sens qu’elle y trouve.  Elle explore plusieurs pistes de reconversions professionnelles et entame des formations dans des domaines complémentaires et variés : Doula, Communication Non Violente, paroles aux bébés, Brain Gym, la santé par le toucher, le Stress Release ... ponctuées de rencontres déterminantes, comme celle avec avec Brigitte Denis, donnant la Parole aux Bébés, l’engageant à s’inscrire à un cursus de formation à l’école ECAP de Nantes, une école réputée en kinésiologie et réflexologie.  Mais parfois la vie joue des tours et s’amuse à tester la volonté d’Héloïse à quitter la sécurité matérielle d’un emploi d’ingénieure.  Un burn-out, un divorce, la fermeture de l’entreprise dans laquelle elle travaillait, cinq enfants à charge,… les projets de reconversion d’Héloïse s’étaient suspendus.   Et puis, aussi, il y avait en sourdine des croyances limitantes dont il n’est pas toujours facile à se défaire… surtout quand on a grandi et évolué dans un monde très cartésien et scientifique. Le poids du regard des autres et l’ombre du symptôme de l’imposteur plombaient les ailes d’Héloïse pour s’envoler vers une nouvelle carrière.  Tout a pris sens et s’est délié naturellement lorsqu’elle a appris que sa propre grand-mère était guérisseuse.  C’est ainsi qu’elle s’est retrouvée - après plusieurs déménagements - dans la maison de famille où a vécu cette même grand-mère et qu’elle a lancé son activité.  Toujours en parallèle d’un métier plus “conventionnel”, mais, c’est bien Héloïse, énergéticienne, qui nous explique aujourd’hui sa façon de travailler avec les énergies.  Elle nous explique les différences entre les médecines énergétiques telles qu’elle les ressent :  - Le Reiki, qui offre un rééquilibrage global, tout en douceur. - Le Lahochi, une énergie du Coeur, permettant la libération des croyances limitantes et des conditionnements familiaux,.. - Le Magnétisme, accompagnement idéal de la prise en charge des douleurs physiques, ou des problèmes de peau, toujours en complément d'un traitement médical. En permanente recherche d’apprentissages et d’évolutions, elle nous livre ce qui l’attire en ce moment, comme le massage métamorphique, dernier outil auquel elle s'est formée. Nous abordons aussi le thème de la multi-potentialité, de la façon dont elle canalise son insatiable soif d’apprendre, comment elle sait se structurer dans le lâcher-prise... Elle fait naturellement des ponts entre toutes ces disciplines et c’est ainsi que, avec un nouveau clin d'œil de la vie, Héloïse donne des soins énergétiques aux bébés qu’elles auraient pu voir naître comme Doula, première idée de reconversion, là dans la maison de cette grand-mère guérisseuse. Tout en concilliant un travail très prenant avec la poursuite de ses passions. Discussion and clarification thru white paper the spending of $1.4 million on housing by the city council. $1.4 was voted on and approved to rehab 74 units of housing at the "CARLYLE" downtown, 180K was given to "Family promise" to buy a house adjacent to their facility to expand their operations, and $750K was given to "proclaim liberty" to help them build an ECAP early childhood center and an additional $456K was given to Proclaim liberty for building improvements at liberty park terrace apartments on the lower south hill.

$1.4 million in accepting funding recommendations from CHHS to rehab 74 units of affordable housing, and construction of a new ECAP center. Just the housing easy math;  almost $19K per unit. Additional $50K needed for legal services in a police law suit, approving $114K to establish a new position in performance mgmt. Both landlord tenant issues got pushed until 1 May to make room for the planned parenthood noise ordinance. Expect the chambers to be packed.
