Are you a narcissist? How would you know? Or maybe you are in a relationship with one. We talk to Jungian analyst Dr Susan Schwartz about dreams related to narcissism and about how to be in relationship with those everyday narcissists in our life. Learn how dreams help us process trauma with our guest Gdansk Professor Wojciech Owczarski​ who studies the dreams of Auschwitz survivors, modern Ukrainian refugees, and nursing home residents. Every night our dreams invite us to enter the mystery that is our soul, and they guide us toward wholeness, purpose, and destiny. ​​AI dream interpretation platforms are getting ever more popular. ​We talk today with Harry de Bont, the developer of AUT-Dream,​ about how best to approach these tools and why his platform is an improvement over Chat GPT. We talk about what he calls the Anthropic Universe Theory (AUT) and argues that the primary purpose of dreams is to comment on what surprises us and then to help us shift our world model to something closer to reality. We also talk about how AI relates to an emerging collective awareness, and he shares some of his hopes for future ways AI might be used to catalyze community. We take two questions from Max. He asks about how AI works which leads into a discussion of pattern recognition and the inevitable biases of AI based on the cultural profile of the data entered into it. Harry ends by encouraging us to try AI dream interpretation but cautions us to always stick up for our intuition when working with our dreams. Today's guest composes music to his patient’s dreams, capturing feelings and moods and deepening the psychotherapeutic process. In this replay from two years ago, we meet Dr. Michael Mollura who is a PhD licensed clinical psychologist and also an award-winning music composer for TV and movies. Michael started by scoring music to his own dreams and later found out how valuable the practice was in deepening the healing for his psychotherapy clients. We play a clip of one such piece called Scary Path Dream. Michael describes the process of scoring the piece including using cello to represent the waving branches of the trees. He also describes the effect that listening to this creation had on his client in deepening her process and even bringing up waking life memories that she had forgotten. Our guest has hosted hundreds of patients on ketamine-assisted psychedelic trips and has gone on a few of his own, yet his experience is that dreamwork can be even more profound. In this show, a replay of a popular show from August 2024 Katherine talks to Dr. Darren Jakubec, an emergency-room anesthetist who runs a pain clinic in northern British Columbia. Jake talks about his history with dreaming and inner work and then gives an example of working a dream with a pain clinic patient. He describes his experience with a ketamine clinic which he ran for several years, describing psychedelics as an inner work accelerant which uses much of the same language as dreaming. On John Lennon's birthday, Erik Nelson, documentary filmmaker, talks about his new documentary "Daytime Revolution" about the week in 1972 when John & Yoko co-hosted, and programmed, the daytime talk show, The Mike Douglas Show. 

To commemorate what would have been John Lennon's 84th birthday on October 9th, director Erik Nelson joins host Robin Milling to discuss the documentary Daytime Revolution which is a treasure trove of footage and interviews. For a week in 1972, John Lennon and Yoko Ono took over co-hosting duties for The Mike Douglas Show with one thing on their mind – to bring their message of peace to an audience of 40 million. It seems unimaginable but they pulled it off, chatting with guests like Ralph Nader, Black Panther Party chairman Bobby Seale, comedian George Carlin, and jamming with Chuck Berry for the first time ever.

Katherine speaks about her ideas about approaching dreams as a kind of treasure hunt and what she calls the Dreamer’s Paradox. After the break we take a comment from engineer Rick Kleffel saying that his favorite author Alan Moore often gets inspiration from his dreams. We are then joined by Steven E. The filmmaker Erik Nelson is the guest in the first segment. Erik has a new documentary coming out about called "Daytime Revolution". For one extraordinary week beginning on February 14, 1972, the Revolution was televised. "Daytime Revolution" takes us back in time to the week that John Lennon and Yoko Ono descended upon a Philadelphia broadcasting studio to co-host the iconic "Mike Douglas Show", at the time the most popular show on daytime television with an audience of 40 million viewers a week. What followed was five unforgettable episodes of television, with Lennon and Ono at the helm and Douglas bravely keeping the show on track. Acting as both producers and hosts, Lennon and Ono handpicked their guests, including controversial choices like Yippie founder Jerry Rubin and Black Panther Chairman Bobby Seale, as well as political activist Ralph Nader and comic truth teller George Carlin. Their version of daytime TV was a radical take on the traditional format, incorporating candid Q&A sessions with their transfixed audience, conversations about current issues like police violence and women's liberation, conceptual art events, and one-of-a-kind musical performances, including a unique duet with Lennon and Chuck Berry and a poignant rendition of Lennon's “Imagine”. A document of the past that speaks to our turbulent present, "Daytime Revolution" captures the power that art can have when it reaches out to communicate, the prescience of that dialogue, and the bravery of two artists who never took the easy way out as they fought for their vision of a better world. The film will have a nationwide theatrical screening in 50 cities on October 9th, the day that would have been John Lennon's 84th birthday. The filmmaker Emily Packer graces the podcast in this episode's second segment. In "Holding Back the Tide", an impressionist hybrid documentary, Packer traces the oyster through its many life cycles in New York, once the world's oyster capital. Now their specter haunts the city through queer characters embodying ancient myth, discovering the overlooked history and biology of the bivalve that built the city. As environmentalists restore them to the harbor, Holding Back The Tide looks to the oyster as a queer icon, entangled with nature, with much to teach about our continued survival.
