My guest on this episode is someone who is my online go-to for parenting advice. Clinical Psychologist Dr Martha Deiros Collado shares wise, thoughtful, evidence-based views on her Instagram posts and she is the author of the brilliant book How To Be The Grown Up, which has just come out in paperback.Dr Martha and I discuss what she has learned about herself since becoming a mum and how her kids have taught her new skills. We also cover how time-poor parents can navigate research and studies about parenting and children, knowing what to listen to and what to ignore.Dr Martha talks a lot about emotional regulation, both teaching ourselves how to process our own feelings, and how to model to our kids and teach them how to regulate their emotions. A really hard one to do!And we also discuss screen time, how it's not the enemy we're led to believe, why we shouldn't demonise smartphones and how to work out what a healthy screen and device relationship looks like within your family.Follow Dr Martha on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dr.martha.psychologist/Buy her book: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1787636887This episode is brought to you by The Baby Show and I am really excited to share that Not Another Mummy Podcast is the Official Podcast Partner for The Baby Show Excel London 2025. Sustainability strategy experts Sam Wilson, managing director at Syntiro Associates, and Dr Dominic Tantram, partner at Terrafiniti, present a podcast precursor to the ‘Unmasking Greenwashing in the Events Industry: Understanding, Identifying, and Avoiding Misleading Practices' panel at Event Sustainability Live (ESL). Succinctly titled ‘Greenwashing', this episode sees Sam and Dominic do some background, their two companies having worked together, before defining the term and inadvertent incarnations. Steered by host James Dickson, they go on to talk/to explain materiality and double materiality, comms traps and much more. Clued-up contributors, real insight, and some telling hand gestures, this is a great use of time. It's equally powerful as background to the ESL session on November 21st, where Tara Blackburn, environmental sustainability manager at Hearst Lab Scout, and executive director at Evcom, Claire Fennelow, will join Sam and Dominic for the session. Event Sustainability Live takes place at ExCeL London between 20th-21st November and is free to attend, click here to register To keep up to date with all the news, subscribe for free here. Aging and death happen to the best of us, but there are increasing efforts to do something about it. That effort requires that we have some reasonable understanding of why aging happens, and what processes are involved. You will be unsurprised to learn that it's complicated. Venki Ramakrishnan, who won the Nobel Prize for his work on the ribosome, investigates what we know about aging in his book Why We Die: The New Science of Aging and the Quest for Immortality. We talk about aging and death, and manage to get some thoughts in about ribosomes. We are in the middle of an inflection point when it comes to US sports betting, particularly when it comes to advertising. While ESPN's Outside the Lines and 60 Minutes ready to cast a probing eye on the industry this week, the industry is responding with a star-studded list of athletes and celebrities promoting sportsbooks. And one of those names stands out above the rest... Lebron James announced this week that he will be working with DraftKings Sportsbook. Is this partnership more fuel for the fire or is it a sign that sports betting is going mainstream? SBC Americas' Editor, Jessica Welman, alongside SBC's Media Manager Charlie Horner will discuss all that and more on today's episode of iGaming Daily, sponsored by Optimove. Last September, Scott Sibella announced an abrupt departure from Resorts World, stepping down as its President and CEO for, what was stated at the time, as violating company policy. However, since then, details of what these violations were have been in short supply. As the European landscape continues to change for the gambling industry, the sector also sees parallels when it comes to the affiliate space. None more so when it comes to emerging markets. With all eyes focused on the opening of Brazil, a little closer to home sees Finland's potential opening of an online casino space from either 2025 or 2026. And while Finland or Brazil won't be the topic of today's conversation, how affiliates tackle emerging markets, in collaboration with operators, and how they maximise their conversions will be. In the first of two episodes, Julian Pitts is joined by Peter Gunni, the CCO of Traffic Lab, on the inagurual episode of the Affiliate Leaders iGaming Daily podcast, sponsored by Optimove. To find out more about Affiliate Leaders, click on the link below:- https://affiliateleaders.com/Host: Julian PittsGuest: Peter GunniProducer: Anaya McDonaldEditor: James RossRemember, if you are attending the ICE London on 6-8 February 2024 at ExCeL London, make sure you head over to Optimove's stand and mention that you listened to the iGaming Daily podcast to receive an Amazon gift voucher.Check out our partners Optimove at https://hubs.la/Q02gLC5L0 or go to Optimove.com/sbc to get your first month free when buying Optimove.

Most days we do like to cover the biggest or breaking news circulating the iGaming sphere, but there are the odd few days where raising awareness to a broader topic takes centre stage, and today's episode will do just that. Last week, SBC held its Affiliates Digital Day, which consisted of five webinars branching off to different topics revolving around the affiliate landscape. This ranged from SEO, acquisition and social responsibility, to name but a few. And joining James Ross on today's episode of iGaming Daily, sponsored by Optimove, is Martyn Elliott, Media Project Director at SBC, and SBC's Digital Event Producer, Jacob Booth, marking his debut on the show, To check out all of the webinars on the Affiliate Digital Day, click on the following link:- https://sbcconnect.com/event/sbc-digital-innovation-affiliation/(exhibition/lobby//side:messages)(dialog:agenda)?tab=networking&selectedDay=1To read more on any other topics discussed in today's podcast, click on the links below:- https://sbcnews.co.uk/europe/2024/01/24/spelinspektionen-strengthens-online-gambling-safety-with-two-bans/- https://casinobeats.com/2024/01/24/flutter-ceases-euronext-dublin-trading/- https://sbcamericas.com/2024/01/23/betr-casino-expansion-sportsbook-plans/- https://sbcnoticias.com/ecuabet-ligapro-ecuador-apuestas/Host: James RossGuests: Martyn Elliott & Jacob BoothProducer: Anaya McDonaldEditor: James RossRemember, if you are attending the ICE London on 6-8 February 2024 at ExCeL London, make sure you head over to Optimove's stand and mention that you listened to the iGaming Daily podcast to receive an Amazon gift voucher.Check out our partners Optimove at https://hubs.la/Q02gLC5L0 or go to Optimove.com/sbc to get your first month free when buying Optimove.
On Monday, Française des Jeux (FDJ) awakened the gambling sector to its €2.6bn acquisition, tabled to investors of Kindred Group Plc. As proclaimed to the Paris Euronext, FDJ makes a bold and daring move to become “Europe's second biggest gambling operator” – as it continues its M&A appetite beyond French shores. What is the ripple-effect of FDJ's transformative bid to acquire Kindred Group, on European markets and its competitive make-up – as a hungry and deep-pocketed French giant awakens. Has the gambling M&A cycle returned to Europe following its focus on the US?This will be the topic of today's iGaming Daily, as host Martyn Elliot, Media Project Director at SBC, is joined by Edward Menmuir, Content Director at SBC, and Ted Orme-Claye, Editor at Payment Expert and Insider Sport.Host: Martyn ElliotGuests: Ted Orme-Claye & Edward MenmuirProducer: Anaya McDonaldEditor: James RossRemember, if you are attending the ICE London on 6-8 February 2024 at ExCeL London, make sure you head over to Optimove's stand and mention that you listened to the iGaming Daily podcast to receive an Amazon gift voucher.Check out our partners at Optimove: https://hubs.la/Q02gLC5L0
A flurry of regulatory updates saw separate reports warn the gambling sector of its continued exposure to the threats of money laundering and terrorist financing (TF).Publishing its Independent National Risk Assessment, NRA Report, the government of Malta states that it has addressed all AML concerns of 2019, which saw the key online gambling hub placed on the Enhanced Monitoring Grey-list of MONEYVAL, and the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).Gambling exposures were further highlighted by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) report on money laundering activity in East and South-East Asia. The United Nations agency warned Asian regulators that criminal networks had embraced digital innovations to launder their illicit proceeds through gaming websites and crypto assets. In today's episode of iGaming Daily, host Edward Menmuir, Content Director at SBC, is joined by Viktor Kayed, Business Journalist at Payment Expert, and Ted Orme-Claye, Editor at Payment Expert. The US federal excise tax has existed long before the repeal of PASPA, but it is a subject that is rarely discussed—until now.Last week, federal lawmakers introduced the Gambling Addiction Recovery, Investment, and Treatment Act, or GRIT Act, which proposes using the money collected through the federal excise tax to support Responsible Gaming (RG) causes. However, the measure was not well-received by operators, as the American Gaming Association has come out against it.Why would the industry oppose such a measure? In the first half of today's episode of iGaming Daily, sponsored by Optimove, Jessica Welman, Editor at SBC Americas, is joined by SBC's Media Manager, Charlie Horner, to delve into the GRIT Act and what this means for operators. In the second half of today's podcast, Jessica Welman is joined by Alex Kane, CEO and Founder of Sporttrade, to discuss the impact of the federal excise tax on operators. To read more on the topics discussed on Friday's episode of iGaming Daily, click on the following links:https://sbcamericas.com/2024/01/11/lawmakers-introduce-problem-gambling/https://sbcamericas.com/2024/01/12/aga-opposes-grits-act-gambling-bill/https://sbcamericas.com/2023/03/19/2023-federal-sports-betting-excise-bill/https://youtu.be/bKDTigl_sgMFollow Alex on Twitter:https://twitter.com/a_kane47Host: Jessica WelmanGuests: Charlie Horner, Alex KaneProducer: Anaya McDonaldEditor: James RossRemember, if you are attending the ICE London on 6-8 February 2024 at ExCeL London, make sure you head over to Optimove's stand and mention that you listened to the iGaming Daily podcast to receive an Amazon gift voucher.Check out our partners at Optimove: https://hubs.la/Q02gLC5L0

During our conversation with Joe Sullivan, we did that ... and so, so much more.We talk about Joe's role in prosecuting cyber crime—and the ironic twist where he was charged and convicted as the former CISO at Uber. We touch on Tim Brown's situation with the SEC as a result of the SolarWinds Breach. And then Joe takes this conversation to the stratosphere to shed some light on the trends he is seeing, the rise in the pressure for the role and the rise in the temperature across the CISO community. He discusses the challenges the CISO role continues to face, and how the growing fear of personal liability as a result of the conflict between the public and private sectors could ultimately ice the role and make it ineffective. Joe wants to change this, is leveraging Black Hat, ITSPmagazine, and other outlets to do so. But he needs the community's help as well.Tune in to this (dare we say, approaching emotional) conversation to hear about Joe's journey and all the things he is doing to help keep the CISO role safe and successful. And, most importantly, how you—a security professional that cares about good winning over evil—can join yet another fight for good.About Joe's Keynote at Black Hat Europe 2023 in London, England—'My Lessons from the Uber Case': In a case closely watched and debated by security professionals globally, Joe Sullivan was convicted of two felonies related to a security incident at Uber that the company had labeled a coverup when it fired him. The decision reverberated throughout the security community, but still left many unanswered questions. Before the judge sentenced him, Sullivan committed that he would speak wherever possible about the need for a better model for collaboration between the private sector and government. The judge rejected the claims by the prosecutors and Uber that the use of an NDA during the investigation was a coverup, and sentenced Sullivan to probation only.Today, Sullivan mentors security leaders and consults on security best practices, in addition to serving as volunteer CEO of the nonprofit humanitarian relief organization Ukraine Friends. In a candid conversation, Sullivan will share the lessons he hopes security professionals all learn from his case, so that they, their team, and their company don't ever go through anything similar. He will also make suggestions for how the private sector and government can better collaborate and share other insights about the high-stakes pressures on security executives in an era of unrelenting breaches, ransomware, and automated attacks.____________________________ResourcesMy Lessons from the Uber Case: https://www.blackhat.com/eu-23/briefings/schedule/index.html#my-lessons-from-the-uber-case-36399Black Hat Executive Summit: https://www.blackhat.com/eu-23/executive-summit.htmlLearn more about Black Hat Europe 2023: https://www.blackhat.com/eu-23/____________________________Watch this and other videos on ITSPmagazine's YouTube ChannelBlack Hat Europe 2023 playlist:

Recorded live at The Baby Show with Lidl GB. The Baby Show is the UK's largest and most popular pregnancy, baby and parenting event where Motherkind was the official podcast sponsor. I was lucky enough to sit down on stage with a packed audience to speak with Kate Ferdinand. She is mum to Cree and step-mum to Rio Ferdinand's 3 children. She is also the author of How to build a family out on the 11th of May and the children's book The family tree out on the 8th of June. I highly recommend her podcast Blended. In this live episode, we talk about: Her pregnancy Building a blended family How she lost herself in motherhood What advice she wishes she had How she's learned to be kinder to herself in motherhood SPECIAL THANKS TO THIS WEEK'S SPONSORS My sponsor this week is Athletic Greens. I love AG1. I take it every morning when I'm making the girls breakfast. AG1 has over 7k 5* reviews and I can see why. It's a supplement with 75 ingredients and its special blend is designed to support gut health, nervous and immune system, energy, recovery, focus and even aging. It's one of my non-negotiables. It tastes quite nice and while I'm drinking it I'm reminding myself I'm worth looking after and that I can only be the mother and person I want to be in the world when I look after myself. We are grateful to Athletic Greens for sponsoring this episode of the Motherkind podcast. This episode is with author Mellissa Urban. Melissa is a seven-time New York Times best-selling author who specialises in helping people establish healthy boundaries. I recently read her book The book of boundaries: set the limits that will set you free. I loved this book so much - I just had to get her on the podcast.
