We've seen how the sacraments re-present what Christ worked for us in his Passion and death, but the Catechism also explains to us how the sacraments prefigure our eternal inheritance in heaven. Fr. Mike uses this “nugget day” as an opportunity to ensure we understand what the sacraments are and what they're for. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 1130-1134. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB. Series: Mark Part 16Scripture: Mark 5:1–20 In today's episode, we continue our journey through the Gospel of Mark and see Jesus step onto the shore in the region of the Gerasenes. There, He meets a man who is suffering terribly and living among the tombs. This story includes demons, sometimes the Bible also calls them unclean spirits, but we handle this carefully and remind kids of the most important truth: Jesus is stronger than darkness. As Jesus speaks with authority, the unclean spirits must obey Him. The man who had been alone, hurting, and in bondage is restored. When the people come and see him, he is sitting with Jesus, dressed, and in his right mind. What a beautiful picture of mercy and rescue. This episode helps kids see that Jesus does not only save and restore people so they can keep it to themselves. He gives His people a story to tell. Wherever Jesus places us—at home, with friends, at school, or in our community—we can tell others how much the Lord has done. Today's key truth:Jesus is stronger than darkness, full of mercy, and wants us to share his goodness with others. ------------------ The Wonder Project: Subscriber support makes more great content like I Gotta Ask with Annie F. Greg answers questions from callers about how one could reconcile the presence of death before the fall with Romans 5 and 8, whether the Bible will still play a role in the new earth, how we know when a psalm is a messianic prophecy, and whether there are strings attached to our free salvation. Topics: How could one reconcile the presence of death in the world before Adam and Eve with Romans 5 and 8? (06:00) Will the Bible still play a role in the new earth? (32:00) How do Bible scholars know that when certain psalms were written, they were prophecies of the Messiah? (37:00) What would you say to someone who says it seems like there are a lot of strings attached to our "free" salvation (going to church, reading the Bible, etc.), making it sound more conditional than free? How many times have we said "No, thank You" to the Lord when He presents us with an opportunity? We feel inadequate, or weak, or too busy—but God knows what He is doing when He asks us to act. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses Moses, one of the greatest leaders in the Bible, and how he walked in humble obedience to the Lord even when he felt insufficient for the assignment. God moves in our lives when we humble ourselves, and He promises to provide for us when we obey His commands. So, we can trust that in the midst of confusion and change around us, we have the strength and authority to make a difference through Almighty God.

Why does Luke's Gospel include Simon carrying Jesus's cross and the criminal beside him? What do their responses reveal about the human heart? And what does this tell us about what true discipleship actually look like? In today's episode, Jensen shares how Jesus's crucifixion in Luke 23:26–43 reveals the posture of a true disciple: humble, aware of their need, and willing to take up their cross and follow the one, true King. The Easter Vigil is more than a beautiful liturgy, it's the culmination of salvation history and the climax of the catechumenate. Gomer and Dave unpack the rich symbolism of the Church's greatest liturgical celebration, from the new fire and Paschal Candle to baptism, confirmation, and the Eucharist. They explore why the Vigil is centered on those entering the Church, how the liturgy embodies the Gospel through signs and symbols, and why Christians should never underestimate the power of the Church's ancient traditions. When you really know about the unseen spiritual battle happening, you then have a choice … stand with God in the battle, or sit down and dismiss yourself from it. Sadly, most of us either refuse to acknowledge the battle happening at all – or – we refuse to allow our self-centered little lives to be bothered with it. But the truth is, we are bothered by it, continually. Every single family has wounds from a spiritual battle. God's word calls us to know about it and then do something about it. Ephesians 6:13, “Therefore, put on every piece of God's armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.” What is this time of evil? You can assume it's a future time that may not even impact your life, but I encourage you to consider the time of evil is anytime the enemy zeroes in on you. Remember, the devil is like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. His plan is sure: Kill, steal and destroy. If you are without the supernatural infusion of God's strength that comes through a connection with Jesus, and if you are without the full armor of God, you won't be able to stand up against the enemy's attack. There is a battle. It's real. And my friends, it's personal. Have you ever felt like the devil just had your number? Like his attacks were so personal and so direct? Yeah – well they are! As real as God's good plans are for you, the devil's bad plans for you are real too. Yes, God sends his angels to protect you, but Satan sends his demons to attack you. No, I don't like it, but that doesn't change the battle. What changes the battle is believing what God's word tells me and receiving everything he offers me. He offers me supernatural strength for his power to flow in me and through me. How? Through connection and relationship with Jesus. Then, he offers me detailed pieces of armor for the battle against evil. But it's always up to me whether or not I put on the armor. It's up to you to either put on the armor, or not. And if you don't, you are vulnerable. When the time of evil comes and the enemy zeros in on you, he'll know you're like a sitting duck. If your family is unprotected, it's time you realize it and change that! God has armor for you, and the armor is guaranteed to protect you from the spiritual battle happening in the unseen … but it's up to you to put it on! Some of us have all our armor piled up in a corner collecting dust, while we wonder why life is so darn hard. Why does this stuff just keep happening? Maybe, you've been sitting when you should have been standing with God. Maybe you've been fighting with your own power and you're 100% outmatched by powers greater than you. Maybe you've picked up a couple pieces or armor here and there, but you don't know how to use it so you're a dangerous disaster with weapons you're throwing around. The enemy is after you and you have to be able to resist him. If you can't resist him, you will fall prey to him. You will be fooled, you will be subdued, you will be overcome, and then you'll be held as his prisoner, stuck in a life that is far short of all God created you for. Look around – are you living a life that is less than the great big Almighty God really has for you? Did you get stuck somewhere along the way, discouraged and depressed, so you gave up and let that little flame within you just go out. And here you are settled in, just trying to get through life when that is such a distant cry from God's great big plan for you. But how do you resist the devil? WITH THE TRUTH! Now we begin looking at each piece of the Armor of God as written by Paul. First, understand that Paul was never a Roman soldier. He was never in the military. He didn't have armor, he didn't wear armor. He was a scholar, not a soldier. But what Paul did have was a personal and up close encounter with a real Roman soldier. As Paul wrote the book of Ephesians, he was in prison. When I was in Rome, I listened to the audio of a guided tour to orient precisely what I was looking at. Sometimes the very things that looked like nothing were totally something. In very broken English, my audio guide pointed out locations of important events and buildings to examine. As a total side note, he said, “Look to the left of this stately building – there you will see a small, unassuming, stone building – this is where Paul was impriosoned.” The guide quickly moved on to other facts and ruins. But here I was, standing in front of the very building where Paul sat imprisioned. Radically important events happened right here! Here was where the Holy Spirit guided him to tell us about the spiritual battles happening in the unseen and how to stand with God in the battle. And while Paul had never worn a soldier's armor before, he was likely sitting on a prison floor literally chained to a Roman soldier in that moment. Envision that – Paul is looking at the soldier he's chained to, the one guarding him and holding him captive, the one to ensure he was there to face his future death sentence. And piece by piece, Paul notices the literal armor of the solider and the Holy Spirit reveals to him the armor God has for us. Paul begins the listing of the armor in verse 14, “Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth.” Maybe you're familiar with this list of armor – but have you ever questioned why it would begin with the BELT? Isn't the belt the accessory? Isn't the belt the last thing you put on when getting dressed? Why would we begin with the BELT OF TRUTH. Well to understand, you have to first remember the dress of the day … literally, the dress. Even men, and yes even soldiers, wore dress like long garments. Running and fighting in this long garment was very troublesome. You would easily get tripped up and lose the battle before your enemy even hit you. So the belt was perhaps one of the most important pieces in the soldier's armor. The belt tied up the long garment so their legs were free to run. The belt held their weapons in place. The belt literally tied the other armor together and without it, they would be defeated. So Paul says, to stand your ground against the devil and his demons, you begin with the belt of truth. My friend, if you don't know the truth, you will get tripped up before you even get to the real battle. The devil is called the deceiver. His number 1 tactic is to twist the truth and sell you a lie. It was how he made his very first move against humanity. In the garden, he shows up to Eve as a snake and he introduces a lie. “Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?” Eve engages. HUGE MISTAKE. When you know you're being questioned by the devil, don't engage. Don't talk to him, and for heaven's sake, don't dance with him. There's a whole lot of God's girls getting throughly confused and lost in life because we're just dancing with the devil, assuming it's harmless. He's not harmless. He's vicious. He's on attack. He's a liar, an absolute deceiver. Now Eve is engaged in conversation with the enemy, and he confuses her. He tricks her into thinking God won't let them eat from that one special tree in the garden because God is hiding something good from them. The devil convinces her God is holding out on her. So, she eats the apple, gets Adam to eat the apple with her, and now sin has an entry into humanity. God wasn't holding out on Adam and Eve by telling them they couldn't eat the apple – God was PROTECTING them. But, they didn't know the TRUTH – and because they didn't know the truth, they fell for the enemy's lie. They were deceived. The TRUTH is ground zero for the unseen spiritual battle. If you don't know the truth, you will battle the wrong things, hide when you should be standing, play little when you have a BIG spirit within, and settle for a defeated life when the victory has already been won through Jesus. My friend, do you KNOW the TRUTH? I mean for real – the truth. The truth about God. The truth about God's plan. The truth about who you are. The truth about who you're battling. The truth about God's ways and the tactics of the enemy. Without the truth, everything else is twisted and useless. Faith without truth becomes wishing thinking. Salvation without truth becomes cultish and self-created religion. Righteousness without truth becomes pride and self-will. Peace without truth becomes a naive la-la land. The word without truth becomes nonsense stories we believe and then fight over. And that is why the enemy is the deceiver. He's most afraid of the truth and he works his hardest to keep you confused and without God's truth. So yes, Paul begins teaching us about the Armor of God for our spiritual battle, first with the belt of truth. This is what holds everything together. You begin with truth, otherwise everything else is wrong. You may be climbing a ladder, but what good is it if the ladder is against the wrong wall. You may be fighting for what you think is right, but if what you think is right is actually wrong, it doesn't matter how much you believe in what you're fighting for, it's still wrong. What is the TRUTH about this God who created you, chose you, loves you and saves you? What is the truth about this one life you have been given to live? What is the truth about mercy and grace that covers you and makes you whole? What is the truth about a deeper calling on your life and a heavenly purpose for your days? The devil's first tactic is always to confuse you and deceive you. Do you know what you believe? Do you know why you believe it? You will get tripped up on your way to the battle if you don't. God has a whole lot of his daughters running around without their belts on! We're confused, we're naive and we have been deceived. Now he says, “MY GIRL, PUT YOUR BELT ON!” Have you ever asked God to help you know the truth? Have you sought him for a heart that really understands his will? GOD ANSWERS THAT PRAYER. One of my favorite stories in the Bible is when Solomon is a young man and he's made King, but he's afraid because he doesn't know how to lead his kingdom. In 1 Kings 3, Solomon asks God to give him an understanding heart to know the truth, to know right and wrong. And here is God's reply – verses 12-13, “I will give you what you have asked for! I will give you a wise and understanding heart such as no one else has ever had or ever will have. AND I will also give you what you did not ask for – riches and fame” You want the truth – ask God for it! He will give you a heart that understands. And with the truth comes even more things you didn't even ask for. Start there. The belt of truth. On November 21, 1915, the hope of Sir Ernest Shackleton and his twenty-seven crew members sank, along with their ship Endurance, into the dark below the Antarctic ice. They were stranded, thousands of miles from home. Later, the crew shared several things that aided their survival, including a banjo. Embarking on their brutal trek, Leonard Hussey (the expedition’s meteorologist) was the only person allowed more than two pounds of personal gear. He was allowed to bring his twelve-pound Windsor banjo. “It’s vital mental medicine,” Shackleton told Hussey, “and we shall need it.” The crew’s journals explained the power of Hussey’s music. “The banjo does . . . supply brain food,” wrote one sailor. Another reflected on “Hussey’s indispensable banjo.” The Bible presents music as one of God’s immense gifts, a way His healing and comfort enter the human heart. In the tragic story of King Saul, we hear how (due to his disobedience) he was oppressed by an “evil spirit” (1 Samuel 16:14). And what did Saul’s attendants believe the king needed to provide relief? Music. So, they found young David with his harp. “David would take up his lyre and play. Then relief would come to Saul; he would feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him” (v. 23). Music offers more than mere entertainment. It can bring joy, renew hope, and comfort weary souls. It’s truly one of God’s powerful gifts.

We can become so enamored with Scripture that we risk turning it into an end in itself, forgetting its primary purpose: to direct our hearts to the living Word, Jesus Christ. The Bible is not the Savior; Jesus is. And as Speaker A points out in Romans 15, "Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us, and the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God's promises to be fulfilled." What is this hope? What is this encouragement that God is giving? Speaker A references back to Romans 14, where Paul reminds us that the kingdom of God is not about arguments over religious practice or culture—what we eat or drink, or even the observance of days—but about a life marked by goodness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. It's so easy to get lost in our religion and miss the point entirely: we can argue and hurt each other over differences, missing the heart of the gospel. The invitation of the kingdom is greater; it's about being transformed, healed, and empowered to serve and love—even our enemies. This kingdom life is about reflecting Christ to the world—a life of loving one another, of patience, of hope, of encouragement, of finding our identity not in religious observance or perfection, but in the abiding presence of God's Spirit within us. The fruit of this life is not fear, not anxiety, not striving to earn favor, but the freedom that comes from grace and the confidence that comes from being God's beloved. Let the Scriptures remind you and teach you that all of this—patience, hope, encouragement, peace—these are gifts from God. The Bible points us to Christ, the source of our courage and confidence. The kingdom is bigger than anything we imagine—a life richer than anything religious practice alone could provide. The best is yet to be revealed. That's a prayer for Speaker A's soul. It's the prayer for his family, his wife, his daughters, his son. And it's the prayer for you: May God give us, this day, hope and encouragement as we fix our eyes on the One who is the source, the One who invites us to live in the joy and freedom of his kingdom life. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen. ACTS 1:1-11 - YOU WILL RECEIVE POWER - BRIAN SUMNER - 2026The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, 2 until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, 3 to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.The Holy Spirit Promised4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” 6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”Jesus Ascends to Heaven9 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, 11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”To support this channel and partner with Brian in Ministryhttps://www.briansumner.net/support/For more on Brianhttp://www.briansumner.nethttps://www.instagram.com/BRIANSUMNER/https://www.facebook.com/BRIANSUMNEROFFICIALTo listen to Brians Podcast, click below.https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...Purchase Brians Marriage book at https://www.amazon.com/Never-Fails-Da...Brian is a full time "Urban Missionary" both locally and internationally with a focus on MISSIONS - MARRIAGES - MINISTRY. https://wels2.blob.core.windows.net/daily-devotions/20260603dev.mp3 Listen to Devotion May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Corinthians 13:14 The Blessing of the Trinity These words in today’s Bible reading often come at the end of a worship service, a quiet blessing spoken as people prepare to go their separate ways. But this is more than a polite closing. It is a powerful reminder of who God is and how he comes to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Notice how each person of the Trinity is described. The Lord Jesus Christ brings grace. That’s not just a nice idea; it’s the undeserved love he showed by giving his life for sinners. His grace means your sins are forgiven, not because you earned it or improved yourself, but because he took your place. In Jesus, grace is not abstract. It is personal, costly, and complete. Then there is the love of God the Father, which is the source of it all. Before you ever knew him, before you ever sought him, he loved you. He planned your salvation, sent his Son, and continues to care for you as his own child. His love is not fickle or uncertain. It is steady, faithful, and eternal. And these blessings become yours through the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit brings you into a relationship with God. He works through the Word to create faith, to strengthen it, and to keep you connected to your Savior. You are not left to figure out your faith on your own. The Spirit is actively at work, drawing you closer to Christ and to one another. This blessing shows you that the triune God is not distant. He is involved. The Father loves you. The Son saves you. The Spirit stays with you. So, these words are not just for the end of a worship service. They are for the beginning of everything that follows. As you go into your week, into your responsibilities, your struggles, and your joys, this blessing goes with you. The grace, the love, and the fellowship of the triune God are not temporary. They are yours, today and always. Prayer: Be with me wherever I go, dear Lord, with all your blessings and kindness. Amen. Daily Devotions is brought to you by WELS. 1 Corinthians 2:9 reminds believers that God’s plans are far greater than anything we can imagine, even during seasons of grief, loss, and uncertainty. In this heartfelt devotional, Vivian Bricker reflects on the pain of losing her mother and the struggle of complex grief while pointing readers back to the hope found in God’s promises. Through Scripture and personal testimony, this Christian encouragement reminds us that God is still working even when life feels heavy and painful. Highlights God’s plans are greater than anything we can fully imagine. Grief and loss do not cancel God’s purpose for your life. 1 Corinthians 2:9 offers hope during painful seasons. God welcomes us to bring our sorrow and pain to Him. Complex grief can feel overwhelming, but God remains near. Romans 8:28 reminds believers that God works through suffering. Pain can become part of a testimony that encourages others. Trusting God allows hope to grow even in heartbreak. Full Transcript Below: God Has Wonderful Plans in Store for YouBy: Vivian Bricker Bible Reading:“However, as it is written: ‘What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived’— the things God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9). Over the past year, I have come across many social media posts noting that 2016 was 10 years ago. My friends have shared posts reflecting upon their lives a decade ago; how much they have changed, what they have accomplished, and how much happier they are now. While it is great to see my friends flourishing in life, my heart breaks every time I am reminded of 2016. 2016 was the year my mom passed away. Every time I see the “decade challenge” or “decade glow-up,” I am once again crushed with the reality that my mom has been gone for ten years. Some days, it feels like she has been gone for only a few weeks, and other days, it feels like she has been gone for a century. The pain of her absence has only increased over the years. Upon restarting therapy, I discovered I have complex grief. Complex grief is different from regular grief because the latter does not endure for years; instead, there is an ending point, and you are able to make peace with the death of your loved one. However, with complex grief, it is impossible for you to move forward; you are paralyzed by their death, and you feel like your life has ended. Complex grief is remarkably common if you were dependent on the person who passed away. Perhaps you are walking through a similar season; a loved one passed away, and you are overcome with dread, grief, and pain. Rest at the foot of the cross and find solace in the Lord (Matthew 11:28-30). He will never make you feel guilty for mourning the loss of your loved one. Whether it's been a few days or a few decades, God understands the pain you are experiencing today. Intersecting Faith & Life: During these times, it is important to reflect upon our future with Christ. Paul tells us, “However, as it is written: ‘What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived’—the things God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9). Although we may be struggling now, this darkness will not endure forever. God has wonderful plans for our lives – plans that we may not even know about yet. Rather than fearing the worst, trust God. No mind in all history has articulated the plans God has for those who love Him. As His followers, we can surrender our pain, grief, and agony to Him. God will bring light back into our lives, surround us with His love, and show us the plans He has for our lives. Lean into God’s amazing work today and trust Him with the process (Proverbs 3:5-6). Your grief may continue for the rest of your life, but this does not mean you cannot enjoy the wonderful plans God has for you. He may even use this present pain to encourage you to help others, such as supporting those who have also lost loved ones, building up the family of God, or praying for those who are in end-of-life care. The plans He has for you are amazing; do not give up now, your life has just begun. Are you ready to take hold of the wonderful plans God has for your life? What do you think God has in store for you? My Dad worked to make the money for our family, so my Dad decided where we went on vacation—fishing. Now some people would consider that a dream vacation, but the high-energy, ten-year-old me? No, I didn't think so. After just a little while, I was complaining. I was bored, but of course we kept fishing. Did I mention that my Dad made the money? Well, actually, we did have a good catch there and they were good eating. Catching them was fun. Eating them was fun. In between, there was this one step that was less fun - cleaning them. But for that fish to realize its culinary destiny, it had to be cleaned. I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about “Fishing for Fish, Fishing for People.” If you're a fisherman, you're probably Jesus' kind of person. Four of the 12 disciples He called were fishermen by trade. When He summoned them to His service, He said, “Come, follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Mark 1:17). He told Simon Peter, “From now on you will catch men” (Luke 5:10). So the business of bringing people into a relationship with Jesus Christ apparently has some things in common with fishing. For example, you don't try to attract the fish with what you're interested in, but what they're interested in. Right? Look, I like pizza. I don't like worms. But if I put pizza on my hook, I'm going home with an empty bucket buddy. I've got to offer what will be interesting to the fish I'm trying to attract. And so, that's how it is with reaching people for Jesus Christ. If all we offer is religious bait, come to our religious meeting to hear a religious speaker talk on a religious subject in a religious place, we probably won't attract many of the lost people who need Christ so desperately. But if we're talking about needs they care about in a place where they feel comfortable, in words they can understand, we have a far better chance of getting them within hearing distance of the gospel. But there's another very important fishing principle we need to keep in mind as we present Jesus to the people around us. It's a principle it seems many believers have never thought about. You ready? You don't clean fish until you catch them! See, too many times, lost people are judged by us rather than loved by us, because we're attacking the things they do. And they do those because they're lost, and instead we should be leading them to the One who will take them from lost to found! You catch them, then you clean them! Actually, God catches them and cleans them, through you. You can see Jesus working that way in Luke 19, beginning with verse 5, our word for today from the Word of God. The whole town is shocked, scandalized, when Jesus says to Zacchaeus, of all people—the town crook, “I must stay at your house today.” As stunned as anyone, the Bible says Zacchaeus “welcomed him gladly. The people started muttering, ‘He has gone to be the guest of a ‘sinner.'” But after meeting Jesus and experiencing His unconditional love, Zacchaeus can't stand his sin anymore. He announces he's going to make right the dishonest wrongs he has done, “If I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.” Jesus announced, “Today salvation has come to this house.” Zacchaeus got clean, but he got caught first! The problem with the lost people you know is not their profanity, not their dishonesty, or not their immorality. They're lost and they're living like it! Their real problem is they need a Savior! Yes, they must repent, but that's part of being rescued by Jesus from their sin! Don't make their lifestyle the issue. Make Jesus the issue, and say with the great spiritual fisherman, Paul, “When I came to you…I resolved to know nothing…except Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:1-2). If you want to help people be in heaven with you, stick to Jesus. And stick to His cross!
We delve into the Sinai Covenant and the laws and teachings it encompasses. We discuss the fear of God and how it should motivate a pure and righteous life. The complexity of the Israelites' relationship with God is examined, along with an exploration of the regulations given by God, including slavery, restitution, and Sabbaths. We reflect on the importance of the Sabbath as the primary sign of the Sinai Covenant and conclude with the formal establishment of the Sinai Covenant with blood. The root of most of America's problems is this: quiet Christians. Far too many in the faith feel like their job is to live in this world, but not of this world — and that's why evil is advancing and darkness grows. If Christians would become bolder, then America's many problems would naturally subside. Bunni Pounds says more Christians should behave like Nehemiah in the Bible, and take the leadership roles God wants them to take — and stop waiting for someone to tell them it's okay to lead.

We are kicking off our Summer at Bethlehem series with a head-first dive into the life-changing power of God's Word. The Bible is not just ancient information; it is living, active, and timely. In this raw and deeply personal message, Pastor Jason opens up about his own years-long battle with anxiety to expose a universal truth: the biggest battle of your life is won and lost in the six-inch real estate between your ears - your MIND. Preaching from Philippians 4:4-9, a passage written from the depths of a Roman prison rather than an Instagram motivational seminar, Pastor Jason teaches us that a healthy mind requires an intentional spiritual diet. If you have been trapped on an island of worry, playing out worst-case scenarios, this message serves as a practical guide to stop stuffing your emotions and start discipling your mind.
John thought he was leading a Bible study. Then a skeptical Baptist walked into the room and asked a simple question:“What are Catholics actually about?”What followed was years of conversations, debates, disagreements, road-trip phone calls, and one friendship that neither of them could have predicted.Along the way, both men discovered something surprising:sometimes winning an argument isn't what changes a heart. This is the story of an unlikely friendship, a long journey toward truth, and a text message that arrived years later with a line John will never forget:“I fear that I will not be Protestant much longer.”
